Love to play the Mavs, but they are terrible and are still getting lines as if they're good. Mavs 0-2 @home. Lakers 2nd road game with Hornets on deck. Lakers went 2-2 vs. NOH last year and I'm sure that's the prize on this short 2 game B2B trip.

Lakers -7 at Dallas?

Knicks/Spurs total is to high, vaughn running the point equals alot of missed shots.
I know NYK can score, have to look at the road averages so far.
I think POP will focus more on the Defense now that there off to there slow start.

Also gotta think Spurs cover this line as well, didnt POP call off practice on Sat?

I was just thinking this the other day about certain teams. They were on the list.

Do the lakers lose SU here? doubt it, if the line is high like -7 gotta think about the mavs here.

sixers by double digits.

bulls by a field goal.

knicks money line. throw all the stats out the window. randolph and lee will make tim work. who will score for san antonio?

As far as the Jazz go it's actually a bit worse than only Okur and Dwill being out. They are also missing their two backup centers in Fresenko and Collins. Rookie Kosta Koufus is likely to start as Jerry Sloan likes keeping his 2nd unit in tact. Amazing that Koufus, Miles and Price will be three of the Jazz starters tomorrow. The bigger problem will come down the line as this is the 1st of 4/5. I'll pass on fading them tomorrow as Philly hasn't shown anything yet. Think they probably utilized practice over their last 4 off days, but I want to see it before I play them.

I'd like 7, but still not sure I want any part of the Mavs. Tricky game, but I'd think if the lakers struggle it will be on the defensive side of the ball so an over is a possible play.

without scorers doesnt SA dictate pace at home and keep this under the total ?

Mason can score for the Spurs, but your point is well taken. Think the under is the play. Almost impossible to play the Knicks only getting 4 points.

Spurs teams always play the perimeter well and that's obviously the Knicks go to.

I like the NIX against the Spurs. But then again, I like any team right now against the Spurs until they figure out that they are playing basketball. I imagine the public will probably be on NIX, considering the Tony Parker injury.

Last 3 road games Atlanta has given up about 40 points a game first half for 3 very easy unders. Betting under first 5 in Chicago when it is available. GL

Hawks havent won in Chicago in a very long time now couple that with the lookahead to the Celtics game right after this one and Josh Smith's absence (albeit not the first game played without a starter which has proven good for a team) I think the Bulls should win

The Spurs less than a full 2 basket fav at home to the New York Crime Family Knicks?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

my how the "mighty" have fallen

What's your angle on this?

Hawks started the season off very undervalued IMO and had them a few times . Now starting with OKC I believe they have become overvalued . Bobcats blew it down the stretch but Ronald Murray also went nuts for a stretch in the 4th quarter which helped them take the lead . Cant expect Murray to do that again. It was the 1st game w/o Josh Smith so you sort of expect the role players to step up intially . Had +4.5 and +5 that day thinking they would lose to either OKC or CHI before facing Boston in the rematch. So despite the cover sticking to that and well Bulls are tons better then OKC .

Bulls have played pretty well at home and lost a tough one last time blowing the game big time in the 4tgh quarter .Playing at CHicago has been a house of horrors for ATL and looks like Joe Johnson is being asked to do more with Smith out.

I think you got it right with the total being too high. Without 2 of their best scorers (Parker and Manu), I think Coach Pop goes back to stressing what has gotten them their rings: DEFENSE.

Interesting analysis on the game. I do also lean in Chicago's direction, and I think they will have Gooden back tonight (not that this is big help, but any guy with size in Chicago counts for something).

Bulls have also alternated this season with wins and losses so coming off that Cleveland game, I'm hopeful for a rebound tonight.

Anyways, any opinion on the total for this game?

Chicago is averaging 100pts per game at home this year, in there last 7 losses at CHicago Atlanta is allowing 100+

damn went fro everyone on atlanta to every forum on the bulls and the line going up and up. Still like the Bulls but Im wary maybe the total is the better play here

If the NIX allow the SPURS to get to 100,(which is VERY possible) this game could go over. Im considering the OVER in this game.

dont know if you guys can access from the usa, but expekt.com came up with inverted lines for LA.. LA+6,5 -110 .. no clue about wheter they're going to void it or just let it go tho.. just wanted to let you know..

@hauntEd, 99.9% they will void it.

@JPicks, long time Spurs fan here. The Spurs are seriously shorthanded for this one (obviously) and quite frankly, I am looking at the Knicks.

No one even mentioned D'Antoni will be fired up to beat on a team that took him out, what, 4 times out of the playoffs in last six seasons?

The Knicks are far from a stellar team but the Spurs may need a 25+ performance by Bowen or Udoka to have a shot at winning this. The worry, of course, is the fact the Knicks porous D, and the fact they need improving in their off the ball game, off ball movement, defense, etc.

The Spurs are older than ever, missing two of their top perimeter threats, basically the only two perimeter threats these days.
That's roughly 50 points, 15 assists right, 8 rebounds right there.

I know the public will play the Knicks, but rightfully so in this case, I'm considering a small bet on NYK ML.

Liking the under as well. :shake:

It's been a while satyr! Any thoughts on philly? Thinking of buying back my bet, now that deron might play.

@DuY

hey buddy  how's it going. I am leaving that game alone, now the reverse line movement despite the injuries, I can definitely see this Jazz team hanging with them all game, they do have considerable depth (although would not back them since as JPicks mentioned, they are not missing only Okur, Harpring and DWill, so that depth is jeopardized), still think this line is fishy, especially the reverse movement despite everyone pounding Philly.

Leaving that game alone.

Agree that Gooden is at worst a solid rebounder . Have to admit slipped my mind yesterday that he was banged up some . Had weighed that Hinrich was out for Chi and J.Smith out for Chicago.

Basically CHI has done what they were supposed to at home going 3-1 SU and ATS . King James went on a tear in the 4th quarter last game and just from reading the recap once CLE seized the momentum they started getting the breaks . Cle started the 4th on a 14-0 run going from down 3 to up 11 in less then 5 minutes. Cavs won the 4th 32-20 and James had 16 of those . He hit two crucial 3s late in the game as well going 4-7 after starting 1/19 from deep this season.

Little concerned with Hinrich out the PG responsibilities fall further on Rose a rookie( growing pains..) . Early in the season sometimes I just keep it simple looking for spots for a team to get its 1st loss or 1st over , things of that nature.

Joe Johnson just 28 for 74 L4 @ CHI as well avg 18.5 pts only 2/18 from three. Everything about Josh Smith talks about his defense but he is still a guy who was putting 14 pts per game this yr and 16-17 in years past .

Thought ATL really struggled @ OKC till the end of the game . The 1st two road games they caught 8 pts and probably snuck abit on teams where OKC they were -4.5 and today +3 basically making winning the only way to cover . They heat OCK in every category basically but only 13 assists was concerning as well as being slightily outrebounded and allowing 14 offensive boards. Hawks bench just 6-22 and almost all Murray. OKC led 75-68 with 6:30 to play and Murray then showed up. In the next 90 seconds Flip draw a foul hit 2 FTs , stole the ball hit a layup off it , hit a three and then hit another jumper to tie it at 77 with 5 to go. Hawks also hit 5-8Fts inside a minute but split the last 6 attempts . So FT shooting down the stretch could be questionable. Murray went 3-3 with 9 points in that key stretch but was only 2-10 previous missing a late 3 to finish at 5-14 . ATL bench reads Flip , Solomon Jones , Maurice Evans and Acie Law . Concerned with so far ATL only 17/31 FTs @ ORL in the opener . Bibby only 4/15 and 0/6 on threes just 4 assists and 17 team assists. ORL was only 4/25 from 3 that game and had 17 offensive boards just 10 assists. Point is ORL couldnt play any worse offensively that day and think ATL defense getting a tad to much credit for its role in it .

ATL came back nicely vs Philly but Sixers have also had growing pains and slumps on offense. At the Hornets I was very confident the Hornets were overvalued after winning @ Suns and hit the Hawks ML. Basically because the Suns were just sloppy IMO that game and Peja was hitting everything until his early exit and Chandler missed . So with those 2 returning figured they wouldnt be sharp and was lucky that ATL after struggling in the 3rd Q turned it on in the 4th quarter and held on. Bibby again 3/10 , 1/4 from 3 pt land and only 4 assists. I thought this line said alot and is so true why I thought ATL came in a tad under the radar :

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -It's been a long time since NBA teams routinely got fired up to play the Atlanta Hawks.
The New Orleans Hornets certainly didn't Wednesday night, and it cost them their first loss of the season.

Flip again had another solid 4th quarter and he Maurice Evans played well off the bench . key though was Marvin Williams going 3/3 from deep .

Hosting Tor they played their best game of the season as just about everything clicked . Bibby hasnt played all that well in his 3 road games with OKC being by far his best . I think again ATL being underrated had them just -2/-2.5 favs vs Philly and Tor teams who are probably more talented but not better then ATL or proven more then ATL has. The low spread showed IMO that the road teams were considered better then ATL.

Which is happening at CHI IMO. WOuld have made this game -4 with a key player out on each side . Would play it up to -4 as well .

Total? Well AT has allowed 85 , 79 and 85. I think ATL has won because of defense so if they lose largely the defense not being at the same level will lay big role . So I would expect that Bulls get 95+ in a win . Which doesnt do much for the total but would have to lean over . Though would probably prefer to double dip and take Bulls TT over rather game total just incase hawks struggle and score 85 pts ...

:shake:

Would be careful with the Knicks IMO.

They have looked their best outside of the opener vs teams who dont play defense . Teams like Char who play a tad slower and some defense and Milw who really slowed the pace gave them trouble. Look howout of sync the Knicks looked vs Milw on offense and can really see that here again. Have to think Pop is aware of that . While new HC might want some payback vs SA if he couldnt do it with PHO why NYK ? NY only 2-8 L10 and 3-13 @ SA SU with 1 win being a PKem game way back in 1997 .

Washington killed them in the pain just started real slow from three pt lan with none at the half . Credit NY for finishing vs Wash but stil allowed Wash , Char and Miami to come back on them an dmake it interesting.

NYK shot selection is terrible IMO . I see so many fast breaks were they kick out it for a forced or rushed 3 pt attempt and many attempts late in the game from beyond the arc where they simply rush a shot. Poor fundamentals and that will hurt vs a team like SA who has 3 days off .

back on 12-13-07 the Spurs visted LAL without Parker and Duncan but gave the Lakers a game losing by 5 . "Very choppy game. The Spurs can make you play like that," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "Their defense is solid, no matter who they put out there."

I would expect Finley to bounce back off a terrible game with contribiutions from Bowen , Oberto and Bonner . A more key role for Mason as well .

SA 0-5 ATS so far and 0-3 at home with 2 blowout losses in a row. 1st game of a B2B where they have exceled in the past.

Scary part about an UNDER is lowet pt total allowed by SA is 98 so far . IF SA wins then even 96 pts for NY is going to take it over ....

Would play SA or pass IMO at +4 or +4.5 your asking NY to basically win SU and that wil be real tough IMO.....

agree about Dallas being the right side in this one regardless of Howard.

regarding the Spurs, I was thinking NYK ML for a small play, have no interest in the points in this game. I think the Spurs win this game in ~57%-58% of the cases, the line says 64%, so I'm playing the discrepancy. The Knicks have a shot at winning this game, forget their woes on both ends of the court, focus on SA.

This SA team has looked TERRIBLE. They will not go 2-80 this season of course but until they show they can win games (sans that thriller in Minnesota which had Parker score 55 points) they are not rightfully favored (not without TP and Manu) against a high energy team lead by one of their nemesis coaches.

The Knicks can go up by 15 in this one, the Spurs will hardly do that. And no, I don't think Roger Mason will score 30, nor will Finley.

They will get the usual 25-12 from Timmy but everything past that is a questionmark.

NYK ML for a small play is the verdict in my book.

GL Satyr . I just dont think SA has looked that bad . They looked terrible vs Dallas and Miami which possible situation could have had something to do with. SA had 3 days off while Dallas was embarrassed the previous night at home . With Miami off that OT win and was 3rd game in 4 days . Lose Parker as well and it just was a bad day. Otherwise they lost by 5 at home to PHO who had revenge after the playoffs past couple years and lost by 1 at Portland . Games they were in position to win but just couldnt . I just disagree thinking SA is not rightfully favored . Philly hasnt played that well and always plays well at home vs NY and was 5.5 pt chalk and blew NY out the building and NYK was +4 vs another struggling team in Wash which they pulled it out late .

I dont think Mason will get 30 put comfortable thinking he gets 18-20. Finley if he adds 12-15 , think Udoka , Bonner , Oberto , Bowen(23 in the LAL game last year with the 2 stars out) , Vaughn , Kurt Thomas , even Framer interests me here to all step and contribute anywhere from 6-16 ptds depending on player ..when Vaughn played 24+ minutes last year SA went 8-4 losing 3 on the road which 2 were by 3 pts( the other @ Boston) and home to PHO by 5 . While minor TD is playing well so far and think he will get at least 28+ pts depending on how often he gets to the line which could be often .

Just think a tad to much emphasis on the 2 SA bad games and overlooking how poorly NYK looked in its 2 losses and has wins by 3,5,6 and 8 pts . I think most of the problem with SA is that TD and Parker are playing so well no one else is getting involved. SA role players are just that and I cant see how getting 1 or 2 shots a game is helping them get into the flow . SA avgs 80.4 shots a game and Parker went down early last one but still he and TD 39+ shots a game leaving only 41 attempts for the other 10 role players and Mason is getting a huge portion of those leaving only 30 shots per game on avg o the rest of the team. Think more guys get involved today and show up for SA.

well, they payed it

Wow . COngrats. Going to have to look into that book now...

And I hate the HAWKS !!! They played a great game though and tip my hat to them . Though I got sidetracked and didnt realize Gooden missed the game either..
