The nets/nuggets game is one tough game to cap. On one hand you have the nets coming from a blowout loss traveling to high altitude on b2b... And then the nuggets who seem to not play that well against nonconference opponents and are a complete mess right now.

I think that in any 44 points blowout loss, you can safely say that everything went wrong, because if something went right and team still lost by 44 points (to a mediocre team without their star player), that it's just wrong...

fwiw - in their last 23 games, Washington has only suffered one loss by a margin greater than 7 points: that was @home to Toronto.

Washington is 0-4 ATS this season playing off 3 SU wins in their previous 3 games, and 4-10 ATS playing off 2 SU wins in their previous 2 games.

-----

Toronto is 4-2 ATS this season playing off 3 SU wins in their previous 3 games, and 9-6 ATS playing off 2 SU wins in their previous 2 games.

Toronto hasn't conceded 100+ pts in 6 straight games, matching their season high.

2014 TNT Thurs. stats

Game 1
Favs 9-5 SU & 5-9 ATS
O/U 5-9 (current 4 game Under run)

Game 2
Favs 8-6 SU & 5-9 ATS (current 5 game Fav SU run)
O/U 6-8
Only 1 of 14 game 2s has totaled less than 194 pts (includes OT periods).

Brooklyn is on a b2b & having to travel from Portland to denver= 1300 miles. Brooklyn playing sixth straight road game. Lost by 44 last night. High altitude.

and ?
You have info for arguments on both sides - travel to altitude on b2b and on the other side crushed by 44 ...

Seems like there are only 2 outcomes for this BKN/DEN game. In similar scenarios as far as the spread and location vs other teams this year when BKN covered the total went way under, when DEN covered the total went way the the over.

BKN covered 2/3 of these 'similar' situations (these don't included B2B + altitude). DEN went 2/4. So basically figure out who covers this game, get a free total with it.

The lakers defense and talent vs the blazers defense and talent is somewhat night and day.

Maybe, but they both play the same style of run n gun - the Net's shots weren't contested at all - they got down early and said Fuck it we have another game tomorrow.. had absolutely nothing to do with Portland's defense!

New York's spot Thurs. (2nd game back off a 4 game road trip), over the last 10 seasons...

Eastern Conf. team - 2nd game back off a 4+ game road trip, on the Road as a Dog vs Conf teams ....... 36-62 ATS

Ref Matt Boland in South Beach.

Home team 14-30 ATS this season and Meat 3-7 ATS last 10 under his whistle.

how fucked up is this????

how does Blake celebrate a big win? smack lil shits to the side

Justin Bieber simply can’t seem to keep himself out of trouble. Police were dispatched this morning to respond to an altercation at a Starbucks in West Hollywood involving some familiar faces. A barista at the coffee house was apparently confronted by Bieber when he refused to serve the pop star because he wasn’t wearing a shirt. “He came in with no shirt on and his pants hanging down and underwear showing and tried to order a caramel apple machiatto.”, said Joey Goldsmith, the Starbucks barista, “I just told him he would have to put a shirt on if he wanted to order.” That’s when Bieber snapped. According to the police report Bieber started cussing at the barista and threatening to have his bodyguard, “kick his ass”.Fortunately for Goldsmith, LA Clippers star Blake Griffin had been enjoying a drink at a table when he witnessed the altercation and stepped in. Witnesses at the scene reported that Griffin tried to calm Bieber but the Biebs wasn’t having any of it. There was more yelling, and some pushing and that’s when Griffin smacked Bieber, knocking him to the floor. “He smacked the shit out of him” said one witness, “then I saw Justin stumble out of the door looking like he was crying.” Bieber was gone before police arrived at the scene.

[h=2]NETS AT NUGGETS, 10:30 P.M. ET[/h] February 27, 2014 · 9:58PM
TV: TNT

  • Nets forward Kevin Garnett will be in the lineup tonight despite playing in the loss at Portland on Wednesday. Garnett, 38, has been held out of some back-to-back games but the blowout loss to the Trail Blazers was a motivation to play against Denver. “He said last night he wanted to play. I talked to him this morning and he still wanted to play,” Brooklyn coach Jason Kidd said. “He’s a character guy. He didn’t play at the level he wanted to in Portland. He’s a competitor and he wants to get things going back in the right direction, that’s why he wants to play.”
  • Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler will not play because of a right knee injury, leaving the team with nine available players. Forward Darrell Arthur will sit out a third straight game with a left hip strain, and point guard Ty Lawson is still nursing a fractured rib.
  • Coach Brian Shaw will insert Evan Fournier into Chandler’s spot, giving Denver a three-guard lineup in an attempt to up the tempo against a tired Nets team. “I will start Evan Fournier because the Brooklyn Nets played last night,” Shaw said. “We will have to use that to our advantage. It’s going to be a challenge for us on the defensive end when they start to isolate and post up our guys, but this starting lineup gives us the best chance to get out to a good start.”
  • Nets center Jason Collins met with the media before the game and talked about the significance of wearing No. 98. “It’s a tribute to Matthew Shepard, and also the year 1998,” said Collins, the first openly Yag player to compete in the NBA. “The year 1998 has a lot of significance to me.” Shepard was killed in an anti-Yag hate crime in Wyoming in 1998. Collins plans on meeting with Shepard’s parents after Thursday’s game. “I’ve had the honor and pleasure of speaking with his mom last spring,” Collins said. “She’s a cool lady, a cool woman, so I’m looking forward to meeting with them.”
