COL ML
NYY +1.5 RL

Olsen struggles vs COL read bad past few times and has been inconsistent of late . Rusch while along time ago seemed to enjoy pitching at Pro Player . In his starts as a Rockie he done a solid job keeping his team in the game . Question is how does COL pen look . Fla weakness is LHSP and day games if I recall correctly. Olsen has been very solid in the day as well. Might look at the UNDER here as well. Olsen struugled in all his July starts outside of @ SD which just seems to struggle vs LHSP.

We know I love my Yankees. I think there is valid reasoning to like them. LAA is 7-2 on this trip playing the last game of a 10 game trip. It will be minus Tori Hunter and Macir Itzuris two key players . Ervin Santana was fantastic cant see Lackey being better that despite his last flirt with a no-no . Still LAA won 1-0 in the 9th and off Ponson and Moose managed 2 runs on a failed DP today that should have ended the inning. So LAA hasnt hit the past 2 games and shut down by SP with so-so stuff like Rasner who is very much like Moose. Rasner has done a solid job of keeping his Yanks in the game but often gets poor run supoort which could happen again here.

Big thing is Lackey is on normal rest and his past 2 starts @ Texas and vs CLE were terrible in that spot. He said before the Boston start now is his dead arm period but then he almost no hit Boston . Still if he feels his stuff is flat thats of interest to me. H ethrew 120 pitches and last time he threw alot was @ LAD when he exited in the 9th and you guessed it was shelled on normal rest @ TExas......

So probably on both those ....might play Yanks ML depending on what prices I see tmrw. Right now +110 ML just rather have the insurabce of +1.5 @ -140:cheers:GL

Hey SN, I was leaning towards Florida. Colorado is also on game ten of a ten game road trip. Rusch's numbers are not very impressive. Florida has had a look at him on 7/5 and he was ruffed up a bit

Leans and thoughts before I crash...

HOU terrible vs. LHP, Wolf ain't in SD anymore...gonna chase the bad beat today on the Mets again tomorrow. Already played this one.

Lackey threw 120 last start. Unfortunately, Rasner is ass and the Angels are hot. Not sure here, but I'll be playing either the Yankees ML or an over.

Braden is pitiful. On the Sox -1.5 again. Only concern is that the A's have rested the big 3 (Ziegler, Devine, Street) so really if Braden can get them thru 5 tied, its going to be tough to cover it. But I don't see how Braden can get them to the 5th tied. When I wake up, if 5Dimes lines a Sox team total thru the first 5, I'll bet that as well.

Texas 11-22 vs. LHP, which is why the line BC posted has been pounded down.

Liriano in a great spot to return against a team that isn't very good against LHP. Can MIN score enough for me to rationalize the huge ML? Probably, but I'll sleep on it.

Gut says that Myers outduels Wellemeyer on the big stage to end the Home Fav thing on ESPN. No rational reason to think this way.

lmfao, your buddy mr bator just said he took the giants -1.5 +360 in the ninth inning, no mention of it beforehand

hes laughable.

good letdown spot for the nats after the emotional comeback win today, i think i like cueto tomorrow but need to look more into it. line is fishy and is almost screaming for cincy $$

rasner has giving up 1st inning runs in 12 of his last 14 games....

i never play these props ever but i may play the angels to score first, and run in first inning- yes

Another study in extremes, Baltimore's last 33 games of basically all-or-nothing offense -

11, 2, 9, 2, 5, 7, 5, 7, 10, 3, 10, 6, 8, 5, 7, 1, 1, 5, 7, 11, 1, 8, 8, 1, 1, 5, 6, 5, 13, 7, 3, 10 & 3 run totals.

_7 totals of 0-2 runs.
_3 totals of 3-4 runs.
23 totals of 5+ runs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore has gone 57 games without posting consecutive Under results. They are 37-16-4 to Over during this period, and are 13-0-2 to Over off their last 15 Under results.
They play Sunday off an Under result on Saturday.

Hey SN, I was leaning towards Florida. Colorado is also on game ten of a ten game road trip. Rusch's numbers are not very impressive. Florida has had a look at him on 7/5 and he was ruffed up a bit

FLA vs LHP usually a fade for me and day games also nice droppoff. Then again COL is terrible in day games . Who knows . I'll fin d a way to mess it up . I just think they set up everyone with FLA today for tmrw. COL is 255 vs LHP away and FLA is 198 at home. Olsen lost his past 3 starts vs COL including 18-17 and 13-0. Just dont see a edge for FLA outisde of COL terrible day record.

Not really into what Rusch did as a reliever . Just not relevant most of the time. The appearance he made vs FLA was right after DeLaRosa which is like why make a pitching change ? One medicore LH for another ? Anyway he has held his own as a SP worst he did was 3 runs in 5 innings which would be fine by me if Olsen continutes to struggle and repeat his recent efforts vs COL.

Not a big lean for me but I am disgusted anyway so who knows what I wind up doing tmrw...GL:cheers:

It is a problem. Florida is the Chart play. Scott has gotten hammered with that ump. He certainly has gotten hit by Colorado. Unfortunately Florida is 7-2 at home on Sunday and Scott has won 5 in a row there on Sunday No clue. Just thinking out loud. Washington has a positional edge. The Reds have a divisional opponent waiting at home. How bad can it be with a team exploding like they are right now. Cleveland with Lee play at Tampa Monday. Anyone really think they show tomorrow. Plus of course The Perez on the road on Sunday 12-0 streak to think about. Do they have a pen tomorrow? First half bet?

post-ump survivors:
TB u8: Joyce = under clubber
ATL u8: Nauert = under clubber
SD u8: Runge = under clubber
KC -115: Hosts are 12-9 (57%) YTD and 7-6 (54%) in the L2 months in Timmons' games
TEX o12: Wendelstedt is 14-8 (64%) o/u YTD and 10-3 (77%) o/u in the L2 months
HOU u9: Meriwether is 5-15 (75%) o/u YTD and 2-8 (80%) o/u L2 months
CHC RL: HOme teams in Knight's games are 8-4 (75%) L2 months, but only 11-11 (50%) YTD

Yeah , Fla-Col is tough. I just think one is inclined to take FLA but there really isnt much of an edge . Fla had 7 hits today and DeLosSantos left down 3-2 vs Nolasco who has been at All Star level for months now . Olsen hasnt and has struggled in 4 of 5 though his last outing was decent. COL sucks on the road and in the day so why so cheap? Olson is scary bad vs COL. Holliday is 7-10 with 2 Hrs and Atkins 6-11 . COL has some guys who smoke LHP so lineup will be key here . If Spillborughs was healthy now way I pass on COL. As I think he is 7-9 as well. Expected lineup is 23-52 with 5 hrs 17rbi vs Olsen. So all about the lineup for me but FLA has the trend edges but think they dont hold up here as they are 0-4 in Game 4s after a win and 1-7 last 8 in the finale of 4 game sets.

Boston could go on run now that Manny is gone. Bay can hit so the loss while major could be minimal especially vs LHP . Plus everyone might play better w/o a distraction. Braden has been better then Eveland lately and DiceK outside of teh 6th inning vs LAA had been very good but normal rest is his weakness. However he allowed just 4 hits in 2 starts vs OAK so far . Could be a good over with OAKs patience vs DiceK .

Fucked up Lackey starts some. His past 2 on normal rest were terrible vs CLE and @ Texas but the start after LAD was vs Tor where he was shelled but they also saw him 4 times in 2008. I still fade LAckey here big time.....

ATL ML and +1.5 looks solid. Sheets so-so past few outings and Campillo always tough in day starts but owns 2 nce starts and wins vs Milw. Last time he went 7 innings outdueling Suppan 4-2 when Chipper was out. Only really Tex absent here and replaced by Kotchman . Lineup should be jsut as good maybe better then Camps last Milw start. Milw struggled vs Morton today. CC a much tougher matchup for them IMO and Campillo a nice upgrade on paper .....should be -130 not -150 IMO......

Lariano at -170 is just ludacris. He has not proven anything since he has came back from tommy john surgery except that he will never again be the same. I'd have to back cleveland for all this precious + money.

Last 6 triple a starts 41 innings and 5 runs given up. Thats 1 run for 8 innings territory.
Concerning the Yankee game tomorrow I may bet the Yankees just based on their tremendous success at home Sundays but not because of batter vs pitcher stats which I think are very misleading. If you look at what has happened the Yankees have hit him very well in Anaheim and barely touched him in NY.

Saint Louis/Philadelphia total stats

Saint Louis

at home this season
O/U 11-20-4 vs divisional opponents/AL teams
O/U 14-7-1 _vs non-divisional NL opponents

last game of a home series
O/U 2-7 vs divisional opponents/AL teams
O/U 4-2 vs non-divisional NL opponents*

*1 of the Under results vs a Washington team they shutout (anyone suprised?)

Philadelphia

on the road this season
O/U 10-19-1 vs divisional opponents/AL teams
O/U 16-10-1 vs non-divisional NL opponents

last game of a road series
O/U 2-8 vs divisional opponents/AL teams
O/U 3-3 vs non-divisional NL opponents

Both teams obviously have the distinct bias for shunning their generally strong venue specific under biases when it comes to facing fellow league opponents who aren't within their own divisions.

Some thoughts. Forget Rasner here. LAA in a major letdown spot. Haven't lost consecutive games since before the All star break, only 3 losses afterwards despite some killer schedule (last night being the third)

LAA 49-6 when they score first, last night they had a 2:0 lead and got hammered. Weaver is the weakest link in LAA rotation but Lackey on normal rest not so fly + Angels missing several key men here. Not many here would think Maicer Izturis is their key man but he is, even though his strength is the one of a powerpuff girl.

No Torii (need confirmation here, I only read somewhere he will be attending a funeral?)

In my opinion, the Halos, who are now what, 13 games above Texas, can afford to lose here. Not that they will want to lose of course but teams usually have letdowns following major runs. Angels managed not only to bounce back off last 3 losses but generate winning runs IMMEDIATELY after.

Not seeing it happen here. This has split written all over it. Lackey of a no no at Fenway. This is a different venue here. Yes, not many Yankee hitters have hit him that well, and the ones who were are either out (Matsui) or probably won't start (Sexson).

A Rod is 8 for 42 vs Lackey (.190)
Pudge and Abreu both 3 for 18, but throw all that out the window now. Lackey won't have a horrid day, they don't need to kill him out there, I'm expecting a 4,5-2,3 kind of game here.

Rasner is no sunshine and even though the Angels finally have a great 1-2 punch in Tex and Vlad they are missing some of the links from the order and defensively and frankly, a lot of the Halos have somewhat performed over their heads and over their usual numbers.

Back to Earth here.

Played on Rasner.

Still very tempted by Liriano. Proven that he can't come back from TJ? You sound like the Twins folks who waited so long to get him from AAA. What else did you want the guy to do down there, throw no-hitters?

Lariano at -170 is just ludacris. He has not proven anything since he has came back from tommy john surgery except that he will never again be the same. I'd have to back cleveland for all this precious + money.

Agree 170 is steep but Liriano has been absolutely dominant AAA. Sick-like dominant.. Good spot for him vs Cleveland.

sheets went from 150 to 140 pretty quickly.. Grabbed the 140 but now worried about the possibility Yost's line-up is screwy. Can't imagine he would rest Fielder vs righty.

Crox +124
The price is about right for either Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen to show up in South Florida.

Royals -114
In fact, the RL appeals to me also. Its about time southpaw Richards gets lite w/ a stud like Greinke on deck. Over she goes...

Both games also favor the latest line movements and betting percentages.

Down to 130. IMO this is where the line should have been the whole time...Brewers not playing that great of late and on the road...

Other teams that appear to be getting bet up: Yankees, Phillies, Orioles...

I agree Liriano did very well in AAA . About as good as humanly possibly . I faded him in his early starts because I thought was insane he was off TJ Surgery and he was rushed to the majors IMHO. Ginter on the road is a no-no and well Balt is terrible on Sundays the Tribe as Tuck had pointed out early are NOT very far behind . Plus Twinkies and Tribe love Sundays UNDERS but not sure this is the right spot for one.

Also agree people need to look past SP . You cant base a decision solely on 1 SP. When you back a bad or medicore SP the keys are what the other is going to do and what sort of start you have in mind for that medicore SP on that day. You bet teams not SP. The only minor thing I would say about Lackey vs NYY is its tough to get a handle on. He was very good vs them in 2007 . Two things about that . First the 2 starts @ Yankee Stadium were insanely good but they were also in the 1st Half which we know the Yanks seem to have alot of dry spells during . The other is while it appears he was hit harder @ LAA it was also the third time he faced them in 2007 and the 2nd H. Also what stands out when looking at those 2 starts ?

Well if you missed the bolded numbers . Its walks. I always preach the Yankees lineup hits when it is patient and not only draws walks but works counts and run pitch counts up. Notice the only 2 starts he went 8 innings in the past 10 happened to be his lowest walk totals which in turn was his lowest pitch per inning vs NYY. WHich happened to be @ the Stadium. Look at his 3 previous starts @ NY which include some postseason :
8-14-06 : 7 inn 11H 3r 3er 4bb 4k 1Hr (15 baserunners in 7 inn )
10-9-05 : 5.2 Inn 2H 1R 1 Er 4BB 6 K ( granted playoffs different type game )
4-28-05 : 5.1 Inn 7 H 1r 1 ER 3BB 5K (10baserunners in 5.1 INN)

Now Lackey is off a huge "PUBLIC" outing in that he drew attention to himself with his flirtation with a no-no @ Fenway . Whats missed is he wasnt that crisp as one might think . How can I say that ?? 120 pitches for a CG which was a NO_NO for 8.1 inn?? Granted the 9th was a struggle think 24 pitches so 96 in 8 inn is solid but not spectular for a no hit effort either . Still after the 1-0 effort @ LAD where he threw 121 pitches Jays hit him up hard but also was the 4th time they saw him in 2008 (also had an extra days rest which he wont here). His past 2 starts on normal rest which he gets here :
10.2 INN 23 H 12 R 3bb 10 K 3 Hrs allowed . ( @ Tex and vs Cle)

He also mentioned he usually suffers from dead arm around a 100 innings. This was said after CLE which he didnt want to use as an excuse and before the start@ Fenway . It remains to be seen if this is an issue but remember when it happened to Brandon Webb ?

Just alot of things that dont make me feel he will be his sharpest and as I said I watched Santana on Friday he was filthy . Cant imagine Lackey duplicating that let alone being better . Ponson and Moose have allowed but 2 runs in the past 2 days and teh completion of the DP would have made that number 0 runs.

Lot of LAA praise going on . To which I love LAA for there consistency but when your Bottom hitters like Rivera and Mathis are hitting clutch 3run and even GS Hrs its to lose to when you know you know theres a great chance you hold your opponent to 3 or 4 runs on a given day. NYY lacks what LAA has CONSISTENCY .

LAA was 14-0-2 in series(last 16) vs the AL before NYY and well they cant tarnish that record.

Rasner has been good like Ponson of escaping jams especially at home. Now one bih key is missing for Rasner . Chad Moeller . He pitched very well in the games Moeller caught him who also happened to be his AAA catcher . Pudge gets the nod here and you hope Jose Molina's performance puts some pressure on him to hit but one thing is Pudge is clutch.

Last outing was 2-1 to start the 7th inning vs Balt but Rasner scuffled in the 7th which he probably shouldnt have started and Marte sucked to be honest. Now Balt is hitting very well and features some tough LHBs . So 6 inn and 2 run very solid IMO . Previous start was vs Minny 2 runs in 5.2 inn. Boston did get to him but again I tip my hat to Lowell on the great job with the 3run HR on a tough pitch and really that game changed when Damon makes an amzing catch only to drop it when he hits the wall and is pulled from the game . NYY led 3-1 at that point and the wheels fell off after that. LAA is pesky but not as potent as Bos IMO. Anyway SD 5 inn 2 runs , KC 2runs in 8 inn , Balt 0runs in 7 inn , Sea 2 runs in 6 inn ...

So he can keep his team in the game.....

Anyway so NYY -145 +1.5 RL to be safe and ATL +1.5 at -130 as well...rather pay abit extra instead of taking near even money for a run .....

So far ......

Hunter is OUT as is Itzuris who might be for a few days. Which does downgrade there offense. Rasner is no AS but is his stuff much worse then Ponson or Moose's? Key is throwing strikes , getting ahead and location. LAA has scored 2 RUNS past 2 days vs the above SP so its not like they come in smoking the ball .

Yanks naturally want the split while LAA if they lave with a7-3 trip are still very happy.

Lackey's high pitch count and normal rest factored in should hurt him.

Jeter-Giami-Damon 36-107 career vs Lackey.
Cano 6-20 .303
Melky 6-17 .353

Pudge and Abreu 6-36
Arod 8-42

Interesting read as well.......BOL:cheers:

Lariano at -170 is just ludacris. He has not proven anything since he has came back from tommy john surgery except that he will never again be the same. I'd have to back cleveland for all this precious + money.

Agree 170 is steep but Liriano has been absolutely dominant AAA. Sick-like dominant.. Good spot for him vs Cleveland.

Pedro was dominant in triple A during his rehab. I just do not believe he'll ever be the same pitcher again. He went from throwing 2 hitters in Minnesota against top talent to having a high 2 era in triple A. I remember when I first saw him play in Minnesota in the majors and his pitches movement were unbelievable even to major league baseball players, I don't think he'll ever have that success again. He'll be a average MLB pitchers from here on out.

Pedro didn't even pitch in AAA during his rehab, and got the loss in his rehab start in single A Port St. Lucie.

Liriano meanwhile has struck out a batter per inning in the much more competitive AAA level. Even if you demoted Johan Santana to AAA, its not like his ERA would be under 1...its just hard to shut professional players out, period. Tommy John isn't the career ending injury it once was, and Minnesota has done a good job of late letting Liriano figure it out in a low stress minor league situation. He's ready to rock, and barring a re-injury, I expect he'll be just as filthy as before.

More action: Eveland out, Meyer up, Braden iffy

From Chronicle Staff Writer Susan Slusser at Fenway Park
Dana Eveland was packed up and heading out to Triple-A Sacramento this morning following his rough outing Saturday, when he allowed a career-high nine runs. The left-hander said he wasn't too surprised by the move and he'll go down and try to work on some things and get back quickly.

Another lefty, Dan Meyer, was recalled, in part because Meyer would be available to start today if need be - the scheduled starter, Dallas Braden, has a throat infection and he looked as if he felt pretty awful when he took a brief trip onto the field about 20 minutes ago. Meyer took the red-eye and landed in Boston at 6 a.m.

Manager Bob Geren will make a decision on Braden in the next 45 minutes. He might start and be limited in his action, with Meyer taking over early, or Meyer might start and Braden could potentially be available for an inning or two later in the day. If Braden starts and is OK, Geren said that Meyer will be "one of the options'' for Eveland's rotation spot. An even stronger possibility: lefty Gio Gonzalez, from the Nick Swisher deal with the White Sox.

Agree with Nut on the Yanks, Braves looking good today. I'm playing em both straight.

The Sunday jinx with the O's isn't enough to keep me off em today, even as a Sunday road chalk. I'm parlaying Balt and OVER> Great stuff on the 57 games without consecutive unders. That has to be some sort of record.....

Meyer hasn't fared well in the bigs but for some reason, I kinda like him today if he takes the start for Braden. I definitely wouldn't be laying as much money on the Sox as I am now, thats for sure...

Sox 15-4 in Game 3 of a series after a win in game 2.

Sox are going to roll tonight if you ask me. Big time.

I actually rolled with Oak +1.5 and some smaller plays with with Oak ML , 1st 5 ML and under 1st 5 under .....

Not trusting DiceK as he really hasnt struggled all season except for the injuries. He really fell apart last start in the 6th inning . Braden has been solid in his 2 starts and the A's pen can hopefully be a plus. Oak played Boston tight in Game 1. Game 2 Lester again escaped chaos with a DP ut trailed 2-0. Eveland imeediately gives 5 back before an out is registered probably deflating Oak after losing consecutive games in extra innings . Braden gives Oak a better chance today and some LH have won @ Fenway recently like Burres . Not sure Dice K is as good as Lester either and the price went up from yesterday...BOL

Lets go Yanks !

Funny thing is can anyone tell me what ARod was looking for in his 1st atbat ??? Took 2 fastballs right down the middle !! OMG !

And why does Girardi bunt at the wrong time ? SO many times to play for a run and you do it with Rasner on the hill down 2-0 ???

Agree here .. Elbows are much different than shoulders and much easier to fix and at times even make better.. It is not unusual for pitchers to come back from Tommy John and throw harder.. Matt Morris was a good example.. He washed up at the end but during his best years , immediately following TJ surgery he gained 3-4 miles on his fb after surgery..

Interesting to listen to Birmingham specialist James Andrews on the subject.. Though controversial he stated a few years back that a case could be made to have the surgery on healthy arms between the ages of 18-20.. His point--eliminates the need to miss a year during heighth of carreer (Hudson)and it will in essence make the tendon 3 times as strong as it naturally is.. I agree having observed it over and over again.. Carpenter, for example is routinely hitting 94-95 mph in bullpens now, prior to surgery was 91-92..

I think Liarano will be filthy also.. Good discussion to have..

You bet teams not SP.

Respectfully disagree with this.. Lots of different ways to cap games and 70-80% of my bet is based off SP matchup and to a lesser extent BP availability.. I think I even read somewhere by you nut that the SP has the opp to totally control the tempo and momentum of the game. I agree with that.. Agree that that changes when capping games with mediocre or poor SP.. I just try to stay away from those games completely.. The key to me is defining whether a SP is quality or medicore or somewhere in between. Perception isn't always reality. Zito vs SD is quality. Zito vs Cubs is below mediocore.. Too that extent I consider the line-up..

Works for me anyway... :shake:

SN Rasner can't get ahead on any of the at bats, and I mean none. That's what probably will cost us a win.

The Yankees need to respond to this challenge now, 5:0 lead, perspective of losing the series 3 to 1...

I think they will, but will it be enough with Lackey and that pen following, not sure.

Yanks just find new ways to lose ..amazing ...and Lackey is throwing crap...

Wonder why NYY gets all over Arod . Lets see 2 clutch situations and 2 Ks already today . I really need NYY +1.5 RL have it big and in a big parlay ....Will glady take a LAA 1 run win

What a poor play by Jeter and Abreu there for that DP

whoa...great call by the ump Rapuano btw, he did not score really.

SFG fade ??

Also Maddux has won 7 of 9 starts vs SFG since coming to the West Coast LAD and SD. Only twice allowed more then 2 runs and only once more then 3 runs in that span.

SFG 12-28 in days games or 30% vs SD 13-19

Con is SFG 5-2 off a shutout and SD 2-5 after a shutout .

Also like the over as SFG pitching in day games has struggled and clearly so has Correria. While Maddux recent form has been lackluster but past history very solid.

BOL:cheers:( -1.5 RL probably has nice value as well IMO)

The difference bewteen making a fantastic play and not making it is so obvious this INNING. LAA looks like WS Champs when they are spearing every hard hit ball and well were back .....

Nady obviously does not understand the Yankees do not drive in Runs. :smiley_acbe:. Yanks at home on Sunday

Jesus Christ Tex got a grand slam with 2 outs...

Which is why I played the +1.5 RL rather ML. Peace of mind . You can blame that on Michael Kay though. With Willits up the old Edwar hasnt allowed a run since whatever date it was June 28th then he corrects himself and says hasnt allowed a HIT since then. The old broadcaster jinx in full effect . Really you can blame that on Edwar Ramirez full count to the 9 hitter Willits who has no power and you have a 3 run lead .....CHANGEUP ...aweome pitch he just falls in love with it but Pudge should not allow him to throw that either.......

Yanks -Atl - Col early ! Mets hurt though but I knew it was bad news looking at there lineup I just autoplayed it .....

SN I had to take NYY ML and the value. Couldn't turn that one into a dog, had to have that value:

1) No Vlad, Izturis or Torii
2) letdown game for LAA
3) Lackey on 5 day rest
4) LAA pen after lackey 5.09 ERA (worst of any LAA starters)
5) NYY definitely fired up to win that one

I mean I loved it, had to play it. And even if it lost, I wouldn't have felt like I shouldn't have pulled the trigger.

Anyways, great win for your boys, big statement win here, could ignite a streak here, what do you think? TEX series tomorrow.
