A study in extremes, the Mets last 23 games of all-or-nothing offense in the normal 9 regulation inns -

7, 1, 3, 2, 0, 8, 15, 0, 2, 3, 1, 7, 7, 11, 2, 9, 2, 10, 7, 5, 7, 2 & 3 run totals.

COL averages 5.16 runs on the road off being shutout, this season & last.
NYM has conceded 4.00 runs at home off a shutout, this season & last.

Why is Verlander -150?
Lean Twins

Also Sabathia RL (probably big unit play)

First leans without any research:
NYY ML
Cardinals ML
Nationals ML
Arizona ML
Giants ML
Marlins ML
Mets RL
Rays RL
Twins ML
Over in Boston
Seatlle
WS
Under in Oakland

ESPN TV games have been infused with Fav results recently, especially games with home favs.

The Fav is 7-0 L7 games, 11-3 SU L14 games, 19-6 SU L25 games
Home Favs are 7-0 L7 games, 11-2 SU L13 games, 18-4 SU L22 games

A 76%-to-100% Fav hit rate is not normal. One would expect a correction to be in the works.

The games on ESPN's schedule
(pitching match-ups where possible based on normal rest in brackets)

Colorado @NY Mets (Redman vs Pelfrey)
All Star game (covered by ESPN?)
Boston @LA Angels
Milwaukee @Saint Louis
NY Yankees @Boston

brandon webb as a dog? how many times has webb been a dog all season? what is his record as a dog? anyone... interesting line

I only bet the giants if linceum is on the mound, +130 maybe something

DK and CC are way overpriced, but i am not saying to bet against them, maybe layoff

fade mark redman?

remember how good home teams have been on Sundays, have to think b4 break road teams will be even less attractive. Have to like Tigers to avoid the sweep a home and Phils and Brewers to bounce back, also Mets to sweep the Rocks and gas can Redman.

Also think 8.5 may be high in Cleveland. Kazmir should be focused to stop the streak and Rays have trouble with Lefties.

Also think Cards win with Piniero over god awful Snell especially after that stolen win by Pitt Saturday. remember Piniero just dealed gem and beat Hamels at Philly Tuesday. This should be much easier!

the last 3 ESPN Sunday Nighters before the ASB (05-06-07) have been won by the road team. That streak might actually be longer, but my records only go back to the 05 season. So there's one spot which defies such a notion as being any sort of rule.

Will parlay:

Phillies RL +150
Mets ML -160
NYY/TOR UNDER 8 1/2

under in TO might be the play i think even though the O has been lighting it up recenty, TO has trouble with leftis this season, and Burnett plays well agasint the big teams even though he is on 3 days rest.. will have to look at it more

:shake:

I like it.

GL w/ whatever you decide.

same reason you throw a dog in a parlay, bucko bucks if it goes...

had a wrap the other day with two faves and two modest dogs that payed 13 to 1...

everyone has a different strategy in gambling

IMO you dont throw dogs and RL's in parlays, its just not a good idea.

if youre going to play them, you play them SU.

in the long run, i can guarantee you you will regret putting them in parlays.

obviously, i get that.

but IMO smarter to just play them SU

parlays are what they are, higher risk and higher reward, similar to playing a RL instead of a ML...

I often play everything straight and throw in a wrap or two to juice it up if I'm looking for a big day, nothing large on the play...

Didn't do me wrong today.

Saturday's Parlay:

Red Sox RL
Reds ML
Angels ML

That's an interesting POV Cap. I've never seen putting a RL on a parlay as detrimental. As a matter of fact most of my winning parlays often include 1 or 2 RLs.

Mark Redman vs Mike Pelfrey on ESPN with the Mets going for their 9th in a row and a chance to take the lead in the East. If Phili loses I will no doubt have a play on the Mutts.

Teams looking to sweep on Sunday:
Cleveland +130 *4 game set*
Mets -160
Cinci +210
Minnesota +130
KC -135
Chicago -150

In baseball they pay true odds. Absolutely no reason not to parlay dogs if you think they represent goood value.

Everyone has different POV's like you said.

Im just not into parlays unless i find some random situational ones... like if im parlaying all home favs, or parlaying all teams to avoid a sweep, or parlaying all teams that got shutout the night before

and thats just if the situation presents itself, i rarely play them

im a money management guy, ESPECIALLY in bases. you have to be disciplined in this damn sport
im in it for the long haul, everyones different.

I play for units, and go on a weekly +/- system. So I play to be up at the end of the week. If I think a team will put the smack down on the opposition I play the RL, why not, scared money makes no money.

Any Good 1pm Games Out There Guys. I Have A Recomendation (sp) Let's Talk About The Games By Time Slots

Or Since Baseball Has Time Slots, Make 3-4 Different Threads For One On Each Time Slot.

Sunday :

Teams who I expect to win there series and others who I expect to avoid being swept ---(just leans)

Nationals
Phillies
Cards
Milw
SD
TB
Det
Boston
Texas
Oak
NYY

??
Seattle
LAD
SF......

GL

Well if you were an Over player today you killed it, 11-3
Road teams were also 9-6 so figure we see a few home teams and unders get it done on Sunday. Initial thoughts....

Oakland ml & under 7 Duch was awesome last time out giving up 2 hits in a complete game shutout. How does he respond after his first complete game?? He threw 105 pitches but he still has yet to give up more than 3 runs in any start this year.

Baltimore & Over 9
This is the 3rd time Boston will have seen DC and he is lookin for his 3rd win against them. Daisuke wasn't good in 2 starts last year vs Baltimore. May have to take a flyer with Bal at this price.

Reds & Over 8.5
Dunn is heating up with 6 HR's in his last 8 games and Hairston is absolutely on fire. Milwaukee's bullpen is a mess and if the Reds can keep it close for 5 or 6 and get CC out of the game like their chances with this price.

Stl/Pit Under 9.5
After the Cards banged out 22 hits and lost got to feel they are a little deflated. 23 runs last night and a huge walkoff win, could be a good spot for a pitchers duel. Hope neither bullpen would get too involved though

Pitchers put in a huge effort Friday (10-4-1 to Under), so they ran out of gas Saturday (12-3 to Over).

Do they "refuel" their tanks for Sunday, or say fuck it until after the ASB break?

Cincinnati on the road this season vs lefties -

10 team totals between 0-3 runs .... O/U 4-6 ........ 1-9 SU
_0 team totals between 4-5 runs
11 team totals of 6 or more runs ..... O/U 11-0 ...... 8-3 SU

Do not see Boston as overpriced nor do i see how anyone could come to that conclusion. On the other hand I went back 6 years and saw Boston lose the last game before the All Star game in 6 of them which bothers me a little. In the Cubs game both starters are pitching in the All-Star game. How long do they pitch. Woods is unavailable. In the Cardinal game last night we saw Pitt walk on the Cards best relievers. Am I supposed to bet Sabathia. My remarks yesterday about the 2 pens come back and honestly scare me. Feel like Washington, Oakland and Texas honestly but Contreras has been superb this season on 4 days rest. Very tempted to pass today and wait till a rested collection of pitchers comes back from the break.

Is Manny playing? I think that's the question. The price went up on BOS ML and RL.

Ramirez supposedly left last nights game plus the All star is near, will he be rested today?

I just wamna thank everybody for the great information. Yesterday went 4 and 1 Philly over, SF ml, SF over, Angels, & T.bay loser.

sorry I just took some info from Blankets forum for granted, it was actually Hanley Ramirez who left the game, not Manny. So far no reliable info regarding Boston lineup, even though the RL price has gone up.

Jul 13 Ramirez (shoulder) said that he should be able to play on Sunday, the Associated Press reports.

Recommendation: Ramirez hurt his shoulder throwing in the first inning on Saturday. We'll see if the Marlins' management shares a similar diagnosis for him on Sunday.

Justin Duchscherer, the A's All-Star representative, is scheduled to work the final game before the break. Yet another All-Star left-hander Joe Saunders, was slated to go for the Angels but he was scratched after his wife, Shanel, gave birth to a daughter in Orange County on Saturday evening. Dustin Moseley will be called up from Triple-A Salt Lake City to face the A's.

While Webb is 3-0 last 3 starts, his 3 1/2 ERA is not 'Brandon Webb' like. Hamels pitching great for Philly right now. It's just a matter of wether u think Arizona can score off him.

look at toronto's lineup, i think i have to put a little down on the yanks.. Also with Burnetts week and root canal emergency, pitched wednesday and back on the hill Sunday, must be catchingup with him now.

STL is up today to win in the pattern I brought up 2 days ago with all games played in 2008 btw Pitt and STL. 11 Games now with the crazy comeback yesterday pattern is still in tact. Whoever wins days before other teams pulls out next day.

Two dogs I like today are AZ and Clev. I know webb hasn't been in prime form but in this type of matchup you gotta take dog automatically. Clev is trying to get the 1st win for sowers and TB is no where to be found and going against a lefty. TB hasnt won in a few year in clev. looking for this to hold it wegiht

Yeah, good odds for Webb...As long as his team mates can put some runs up. :shake:

Good Morning ,

TB @ CLE :

Such a huge game for TB as they have lost 6 straight now and need to avoid going to the Break in a tailspin . I think losing today wastes all they accomplished in the first half . They are not the Yankees who can draw from experience to turn things around as they are not accustomed to winning . Lucky for them they have there ace Scott Kazmir going who looked real sharp early vs NYY but again pitch counts chase him out quicker then one would like. His last 5 starts went for 4.2 to 5.2 innings with actually 3 going exactly 5 innings . So he can pitch into the 6th and 7th innings ?

Lucky for him as Cle has been hit my injuries a team that started okay vs LHSP at 6-4 has gone 3-10 L13 with wins vs Willis ( demoted right after) , Kershaw who didnt pitch poorly and Buehle along time ago after he beat them 3-1 .

Crawford could sit for TB. And TB has struggled this week vs LHP but Pettitte , Lee and even Laffey nothing to sneeze at .

CLE is 8-18 in day games and 3-10 on Sundays
TB is 20-12 in day games and 7-7 on Sundays

UNDER for CLE
10-3 on Sundays 48-15L3 years
18-8 in day games 77-38 L3 years

Under for TB 20-10 -2 in day games
20-7 Under vs LHP

Cle has 2 hitters here above 250 vs LHP
Blake 306 2hrs 6 rbi
Garko 266 1hr 13 rbi

The rest 246 or below-

16hrs 63rbi

Playing TB and looking at the UNDER . Tough to trust an under with Sowers and Cle pen.

Definetly playing the Yanks as jays have struggled with LHPs . Murcer's passing should be inspirational if you watch the pregame and saw Girardi 's postgame yesterday . ARod saying everything happens for a reason the day he passes Mantle the link to Mantle (Murcer) passs away . Yanks want to end the break strong . Burnett has looked bad his last 2 outings and outside of 1 great start has struggled in day games ....

Playing Yankees ML.....

:cheers:GL

Morning.... going with Tampa/Yanks/RSox....Tampa's not gonna let that nice division lead they had slip away are they

Have all chalk early -

TB ML ( played small CLE +1.5 RL and Under 8.5)
DET ML
NYY ML

Philly ML
MILW ML _ Reds rested Bruce , Jr and Votto

Strong play on Houston ML ( and some RL) :

I know Wash looks like value but they are not . This is a terrible matchup for Perez who has struggled with Houston in the past and Backe is not quite as bad on the road as his stats appear . Perez is tough on LHBs but RHBs are 301 see Houstons 3-4-5-6. He is also better on extra rest which he doesnt have here although he was ejected in the 3rd inning of his last start.

Looking at the lines in this series I would expect WASH to be about -120 here since they arent my feeling is they are priced to look attractive. Backe on normal rest allows a 264 BAA compared too .316 on extra .........Nats lineup is weak here as Flores and Pena sit .

HereWeGo this is something we would talk about .....if you look at my Friday PM

Don't like the Yankees today, dominant right-handed pitchers always seem to keep them in check, not saying Burnett is dominate but his stuff is way better than most. Like the Under.
