Setting up for another "HOME" Sunday ...road teams won yesterday and were up nearly 30 runs last I checked..

Like under in Toronto with Nelson and the pitching matchup. Toronto not too great vs. LH's and Litsch good home splits.

Like under in Toronto with Nelson and the pitching matchup. Toronto not too great vs. LH's and Litsch good home splits.

Wonder if that is about to change though now that Wells , Rios and Rolen are all in the lineup together (Barajas hitting of late) . Litshc has allowed 20 hits past 2 starts spanning 11.1 innings could be a sign of regression.

:shake:

LAA ML and RL .

Not sure Saunders is a 1 or 2 but I do know ATL struggles vs LHP and Campillo is a #5 SP who has regressed with a poor pen behind him.

I am not at all sure its going to be another Home day. The incredible dominance of home teams has gone on past all belief. Now we see a possible turning point. You think Arizona is a real favorite tomorrow? That Washington might not win. I am not thinking Florida so much for the game but first half tomorrow. Will very likely play that. What about Baker? I will play some home teams. I am leaning heavily on Frisco tomorrow. Think the Padres may well have a shot. Millwood did not win but his team won on the road last time breaking a 13 game road losing streak. He has good history at th Mets winning 4 straight there and 6 of 10. Would that be a big upset? If Colorado won would that be a surprise?
Have to wait for umpire histories. Not going to have another Holbrook where Santana runs into an ump that has been death itself to him in the past but not seeing much chalk in my future tomorrow.

I dont things blindly but in regards to this trend . The play has developed because of the overwhelming dominance of ROAD teams in Games 1 and 2 of series. It beens happening this way all season. I would guess Wed and Thursday along with Sunday have skewed largely to home teams. With the other days of the week trending towards away teams or dogs . Friday 's which are usually Game 1s is one of my favorite away and road team days .

I dont expect the home team dominance to change much of course injuries play a role IMO. I said many a times on this board that reason home teams are exceling in MLB and NBA is the fact more teams are playing on a leveled playing field. We dont have a great team and we dont have many bad teams . All teams fall in the middle which means home field advantage will play a HUGE role IMO in deciding games...You can look at the best teams in the game and see obvious flaws when they travel ...Boston's offense and thats nothing new but add further decline from Varitek and Ortiz injured w/o anyone progressing from past seasons its easy to understand , Yanks have struggled to beat LHP for about 2 years now , Cubbs struggle badly to hit vs RHP away ...Also the wide gap of salaries continues to mean role players become cheap alternatives rather then quality players .

On the surface the skew results are justified as the game has gone through changes that probably are showing its self now. At least how i see it......

Like SFG ML and over . Especially if Molina gets the day off . Slumping and he hit into no out DPs in the 7th and 9 which were followed by Rowand singles ...rally killer ...Correria back from AAA rehab and Eveland since he got that long layoff ater the shutout has struggled especially with command last two...

Do I think Zona is a real fav ? I do because KC is in need of some time off ...3games @ WSox , 4 @ NYY , 3 at home vs Texas and now 3 in Zona which I think 5 times the bullpen lost them the game ...xtra innings in Chi , the 12-11 game @ the Stadium , 2 home games at home where they led by 4 , the 1-0 walkoff ...wonder of they rest some guys on Sunday with Monday off.Zona was due for a beatdown they stole 2 games in NYY and another yesterday while playing 3 straight xtra inning games ...so with KC pen overworked still think they have the edge not sure about the price though..

CC at home vs a team who has issues vs a LHSP is a huge plus for Cle as is Maddux facing an AL lineup. SD had the 1st game blew it and tell Cle jumped out and blew it . Worst case mets splits as I mentioned them laying -230 to win this series clearly shows the books trying to attract Texas money .....

But nothing suprises and there are some quality road arms going...

Something you might want to remember in the Cleveland game. Padres in day games 12-7. Cleveland in day games 6-15. Padres on Sunday 5-5. Cleveland on Sunday 2-7. Cleveland at home on Sunday goes past insanity. Padres are live. KC and Arizona both have needed time off. Arizona right now is just a shambles and Owings in much worse form I think then Meche. We are talking about very sick teams but recently KC is showing a little heart. That being said I am still waiting for umpire info. If there is a weak link for Tampa bay starting pitching you are seeing it tomorrow. Florida will score off Jackson and their started has a real chance of being good tomorrow.

I'm trying to decide between these few totals....the umps agree with my leans, but i'm not sure any are THAT strong of a play.

TOR U
DET O
CIN O
SF U
SEA U

Good stuff. Tuck . Tribe just the worst team in baseball in day games in terms of offense so the 6-15 isnt much of a suprise . I do try to fade them often as possible in day games .

This lean is all about CC Sabathia . He said he felt the best on Tuesday and well looking at his past 5 or 6 starts at home that is scary.

2 runs(0.56 ERA) last 32 innings at home and 7 runs (1.36 ERA )last 46.1 innings at home. He allowed 1 runs three times , none twice and the 4 spot vs KC.

Taking his normal rest ( which he will be again doing) in this L10 start span 33 inn 19H 2 runs 7bb 29K 0.54 ERA

SD only 4-8 away vs LHSP . Winning vs Lee here in xtras , Pat Misch who SF hasnt won a ML start for him yet , Moyer when he was outpitched by Young 4-2 and Randy Johnson when they were rematching the Wolf- Unit matchup from a week earlier . Hairston will not play again leaving the LH Gerut in.

Sabathia is best in the day and on normal rest .

Maddux has allowed 300+ BAA in day and away games . He is on normal rest which is not his strong suit . he faces a RHB orientated lineup which again getting RH's out is his weakness as his tradmark cutter that comes back under LHB hands doesnt have the sam effectiveness. Also Maddux 0-4 L6 starts past 2 years in IL and 3-7 past 12 starts in IL going back four seasons.

So probably play CLE ML , UNDER 8.5 and maybe 1st 4.5 runs.....

46-13 Under on Sunday since start of 06 as well as 75-35 under in day games in that span.60-55 in day games despite 6-15 clip this year . Before this series at home they scored 2 runs in all 4 games vs LHSP Kershaw , Johan , Ollie Perez and Ted Lilly.....

KC 8-15 away vs RHP but started 4-3 so only 4-12 L16 and snuck by Yanks twice by 1 run with Rasner and Moose. Badenhop and Jennings before that.

3 3 2 5 2 1 0 1 8 3 1 9 1 9 9 2 3

5 runs vs Floyd and WSox but 2 unearned and just 8 hits
8 vs DiceK and Boston but 5 off the pen.
9 vs Badenhop enuff said
9 vs Millwood again 4 runs off the pen in 2.2inn
9 vs jennings wasnt even healthy enuff to pitch , enuff said

3 6 3 4 4 5 scored

So 11 of 16 away vs RH scored 3 or less and 13 of 22 all season away 3 runs or less 15 4 runs or less and 17 5 runs or less...

Both pens got the day off today .

meche better in day games on the road and pitching every 4th day which is all checks fo SUnday ! Although Meche get shit harder by RHBs....

Owings has struggled past few out but discounting the Mets cause they hit him well .

Barrett big zone makes him and under ump IMO. So far avg total 8.93 and avg runs 8.33.....

Favs are 10-1 this yr with him and 14-11 last year but 18-4 in 2006. Insane 42-16 !

Under @ Det maybe LAD ML.

LAD scored 2 runs last 3 times they faced a LHP while Det 3-2 L5 vs LHP scored 4 , 5 , 8 ,2,2 with Lee and Buerhle doing nicely the past 2...

LAD 234 L10 and Det 260 but LA missed kemp for abit

LAD away: 1 when Wolf started , 1 when Johan started, 1 earned 3runs when Parra (6 that day)started , which they had a mini run vs Col and Fla scoring dd 3 times and 7 vs Miller , then 1 vs James and 5 when Davis started but only 2 runs off him. So basically 5 of the 9 away they didnt hit the LHSP.

So except for that late April / Early May stretch where they faced 4 LHSP in 5 games and score 43 times almost nothing offensively...

Losing Furcal , A.Jones and Nomar certainly doesnt help and Kent has slumped the past month.

Both offenses slump in day games but Robertson has been terrible in day starts.....

Martin from 366 and 257 to 223 vs LHSP so far as well

Det struggled vs Laffey , Lee and Buerhle plus Perkins before that at home.

Phillies/Cards Over - where to begin?

ERA 7.32 - WHIP 2.02 - SO to BB ratio 1.3:1 - Overall road stats
ERA 9.58 - WHIP 2.22 - SO to BB ratio 1.4:1 - Road stats vs .500+ teams

Umpire
O/U 12-3 this season with a SO/BB ratio of 1.29:1

Last 4 completed seasons he's had 2 finish in favour of Overs (37-28), 2 in favour of Unders (40-28). All 4 seasons had low SO/BB ratios (as is the case in the extreme this season), with the deciding factor for whether his record was for Under or Over his HR avg...
- 2 seasons below 2.0 = Under (1.7, 1.9)
- 2 season above 2.0 = Over (2.4, 2.5)
His HR avg this season is 2.5 (hence his current O/U mark)

Philadelphia
Averaged 3.80 runs/game over their previous 10 games (all under results) headed into game 1 of this series, an unsuprising offensive slump after averaging 8.63 runs/game their 11 games prior to that.
Scoring just 2 runs in game 2 is less likely a return to/continuation of that slump than a natural comedown off the 20 runs they posted in game 1.
Have scored 2, 20, 4, 6, 4 & 15, 3, 3 & 7 their last 9 away to righties.

Saint Louis
- hasn't been held to below 4 runs over 4 straight games this season
- hasn't been held to below 5 runs over 3 straight home games this season
Enter this game of scores of 2, 2 & 3 runs (last 2 at home).
While the above stats incl. Pujols presence for the most part, I'd naturally expect the Cards to suffer his absence more on the road. In their last 9 games they've scored 47 runs (5.2 avg) and Pujols has had a hand in just 3 of them.

Boggs
Don't read much into this guy's start vs Cincy - the home team was off an 8 game road trip that climaxed in KGJ's 600th home run and a 9 run offensive outburst in a rare road win. Then just 3 inns into the game the Cards mashed a 4 run inning, and the Reds packed their bags for the night. Philly is 14-5 SU off their last 19 losses - they are nothing like the Reds

Starting to think a first 5 under in WS very practical. Cook went over on 2 day road games this year at Arizona and Cubs but first 5 in those games he gave up 1 run each. Contreas has usually been a very solid first 5 and game this year and great lifetime at home on Sundays. Been reading at the Colorado newspapers and the team does seem to be muscling up and playing better so especially with that ump favoring the road very hard to go against Colorado but Contreas has had 8 very high quality starts this year and has mostly jus been hit by Detroit in 3 games. Coming off another Detroit blistering tend to expect him to have another great game like the 7 inning 1 run game at Baltimore after the first 2 Detroit games.
WS very good in third game of series 14-4 so far and have not lost at home this season in a 3rd game situation.

Not ready to make too many assumptions about Boggs. Last 6 starts he has gone 34 innings and given up 19 earned runs and 26 hits. Has about an even walk to strike out ratio I do not like but still he is giving up 1 run every 3 and 2/5 ths innings so far.

Happy Fathers Day to all you Papi's out there

CC prior to 4/25 18IN allowing 27 runs (14/14 K BB) 1170 OPS

He has done much better since 4-5 W/L Cleve only scoring 2 runs or less in 7 of 10 starts

Will be betting Greg. Just do not see the logic in the other side. Greg 3-4 on the road losing to 1 bad pitcher and Dempster 9-0 at home this season, Hamels 5-3 this season and Haren 6-2 at home this season. Sabathia is 4-5 this season at home and has been a major financial loser for backers. going back thru 2006 he is 1-4 at home on Sunday winning 1 game by 1 run. Very good though when you get to 2005. Do think Cleveland hitting is picking up and could easily see losing but I can also easily see winning. Padres 8-2 last 10 to Cleveland 5-5. One team seems to have a real edge in day games. We will see.

Washington +130 While Redding has been giving up runs as of late (Almost 7 last 17) His team is 11-3 when he pitches. Seattle is 3-9 when Wash pitches. Both teams 14-21 Home/Away, Not like Seattle has a huge home field advantage.

A's -115 While Eveland not pitching hot right now, When Correia pitches, Giants are 1-4. Giants have dropped the last five meetings at AT&T Park.
Oakland (37-31) has won seven of its last eight games against San Francisco, posting an under 1.75 ERA in that span.
The Giants have scored just one run in their last 39 innings against the Athletics—all at home—after a 4-0 loss on Saturday.
San Francisco has lost 11 of its last 13 at home, where it is a major league-worst 13-21.

San Diego +150- Under 8.5 -110 Maddux pitching well. Cleveland has a hard time scoring for Sabathia. Team is 5-9 when he pitches. San Diego 8-2 Last 10. Maddux 2.94 ERA in last six starts, Sabathia 3.54 ERA in last four starts. While there is a lot to like about Sabathia (See above post #13) I can see a tight game, 3-2 or 4-3. Under is 44-11-3 in CLE last 58 Sun. games. Under is 8-1 in Sabathias last 9 starts overall.

When Correria pitches they are 13-6 at home. All night looking at that first 5 under 5 plus 2 cents at Pinn that I could not bet. Now its 4.5 at Pinn and 5d even money which I took for an average bet wondering why I can not bet at Pinnacle any more.

The 1-4 I speak of is this seasons record. It's hard to see the Giants winning this game. They have a lot going agains't them is this series. I think an Over play is in order as well.

I like seeing all of the praise for Maddux

Not from me your not especially if you check above a few post back.

I think everyone forgets how weak the NL West is and when I look @ Maddux I see a guy who is 0-3 away outside of his NL West . Losing @ Philly , @ Fla and @ Cubs with his best outing being at Philly .

6.1 inn 8 h 3 r 1bb 2k (Philly) -assume Rollins was out amnd Howard in that deep slump
5.2 inn 11 h 5r 1 bb 4 k (Fla )
4.1 inn 11 h 4 r 0bb 1 K (Cubs)

Even the 3 at home 17.1 inn 10r 6er 4bb 9K

Last year SD was 5-7 in his away starts outside of the division losing at both TB and Seattle. Which I mentioned 0-2 last year in 3 starts(0-3 lost 2-1 at home to Boston) , 0-2 in 2006 (0-3 in his starts) and 3-7 last 10 IL starts from 04 to 07.

06 IL:
@ WSox 5.2 inn 9h 6r 1hr 5bb 1k
@Cle 7.1 7h 4r 1hr 1bb 4k
vs WSox 6inn 10 h 4 2hrs 0bb 3k

07IL:
@ sea 3.2 inn 12 h 7r 2hr 0bb 4k
@TB 6.1 inn 6 h 4r 3er 0hr 3bb 4k
vs Boston 6inn 7 h 2r 0hr 2bb 2k

Maddux has weaker splits on normal rest vs extended , vs RHB then LHB , in the day compared to night , and away compared to home especially since he came to the NL west . Tribe start 7 RHB's.

Sabathia sharpest at home on normal rest dismising 4 early starts and using last 10 starts . In those 4 starts only 2 runs allowed in 32 innings . Sabathia will face a SD lineup who starts 3 LHB in the first 4 hitters. Actually lineup is out and Giles is rested with Kouz hitting 3rd very wise mose inthe order but Giles was hitting 300 vs LH with no power 0hrs 5rbi so McAnulty is on a paper a weaker alternative.

Granted CC run support has been low but pitching every 5th day at home in this hot streak of 10 starts he lost 1-0 to Wang and NYY , he won 2-0 vs Oakland against Blanton , lost 2-1 to Mathis and Texas but the winning run scored in extras , defeated Baker and Minny 1-0 .

He did lost both games on Sunday but one was vs one of the best RHP in the AL and the best team while the other was in xtra innings . So run support huge concern but the bst Maddux has done past 2 years in IL is 2 runs in 6 inninsg at home while the best he did away was 4 runs in 7.1 inn @ Cle .

at home pitching every 5th day last 4 times
33inn 19 h 2 r 5 bb 29 K

Dont see the edge for SD . Maybe some late in the pen . Maybe because Kouz is hitting 3rd and on fire now but 263 in days game for him ...

Wish I had the time but LHB 255 BAA 1.20 WHIP how much was inteh 1st 4 starts though ? Alot of that I bet. Last year 4 bb to 75 K ratio vs LHB 0.80 WHIP and .203 BAA

Cle has scored 8 , 1 , 5, 12 ,9 and 3 yesterday despite just 4 hits and almost nohing after the 1st.

I just dont get SD and if it werent for the injuries to Cle in the middle of the lineup would expect a nuch higher number as SD is 11-21 away and 3-7 away with a total in the 8s

So for me like CLE ML and probably this under ....thats about all I can say:shake:

When Correria pitches they are 13-6 at home. All night looking at that first 5 under 5 plus 2 cents at Pinn that I could not bet. Now its 4.5 at Pinn and 5d even money which I took for an average bet wondering why I can not bet at Pinnacle any more.

I like SF myself as long as Molina rests and isnt in the middle of the lineup if he plays . He probably cost the game with his DP's and no outs late in the game followed by Rowand singles....SF lineup I need to see but vs a LH they have some good bats IMO..also lean over ....:shake:

Also SD must fly to Cooperstown (or surrounding area ) to play the last HOF game and then face NYY on Tuesday ...not sure if its a good or bad thing ..put more emphasis on today as Tuesday could be a flat spot ??

Also back to HOME TEAM chatter and the SUnday trend . I have to say I agree that Tuck has a good point about the trend because IL games have seen the road teams do well especially on the +1.5 RL. So if the streak does end I think it will short term and this IL series present the best chance because its actually different competition

Its hard to do especially since has done well in IL starts ....and seeing LAD lineup ...

Robertson going on NOrmal rest 0-5 in 6 starts 6.38 ERA in 08 (4-1 4.95 the rest actually BAA 10pts worse thouhg ) and 4-10 in 15 starts 5.46 ERA (4-3 4.12 ERA in 14 starts the rest ).

The 06 splits werent that bad at 6-7 actually much better BAA but in 05 3-10 5.54 ERA compared to 4-6 3.50 ERA.

Still 4-15 L21 starts with 2 NDs on normast rest since start of 2007 ...Det struggles on offense in day games as does LAD so under 1st 5 innings and maybe under game ...

Robertson also struggles in day starts for his career had improved past 2 years but now 0-3 in 4 starts almost 8 ERA...

also LAD 1st 5 in ML

No way do I play CLE -1.5 RL would actually prefer the pricer option of SD +1.5 -140 with the run supoort issues and so many 1 run games......

Robertson has done very well with that umpire which is why I ducked the game but good luck.

THOUGHT I hit submit on this about 30 minutes ago....yeah I am abit busy ....sort of useless now

Got distracted phone rang , etc , trying to put shit in...

Didnt do much so far and caught trying to decide on some stuff and missed it ....

Indians 1st 5 Inn ML
LAD ML (1.5units)
Over 4.5 -105 1st 5 @ Toronto
Over 8 @ Toronto -110
Toronto ML -120
Under 1st 5 inn @ Det +105
Under 9.5 @ Det +105

Passed on the SD-Cle total my book had just 8 ov -120 felt ripped off , passed on Cle ML or SD +1.5 RL just couldnt decide if I want to lay the heavy juice for either (SD+1.5 was more of a thought then a lean) . Didnt want to lay -150 with Boston but probably should have . Missed some shit useless now just couldnt decide ...

The 1:30 ...lots of days off @ Balt for each side ...

1st 5 under 5 runs
Pitt ML 1st 5 (small play though)
Pitt +1.5 RL

Over 9.5 @ TB (1.25) just two pitchers who alot of baserunners . Cabrera is he regressing ? Not sure but seems that way and Camden hasnt been his friend in the past .....

Working on the 2 PM's ...

Robertson has done very well with that umpire which is why I ducked the game but good luck.

Thanks Tuck. Robertson has also done well IL. I guess I sort of took a page from you and hoped the fact he was 4-15 L21 on normal rest would help me out . Pitch well and lose basically ...:cheers:BOL as well

Okay maybe I get a chance to breathe and talk about the later games ...

went with COL ov 8.5 -120 (1.5 units) -basically Contreras a streaky pitcher and had a rough outing last time out and Cook outside of the West had allowed 25 runs in 54.1 innings (24 earned) ..
Col ML (small play) WSox slumping suddenly and dont have the SP edge on paper
Brewers ML (1.5u) McClung has suprised , Milw better lineup then they ran out yesterday with Mauer day off ...need a win after yesterday . Wanted 1st 5 ML but missed it
Over 1st 5 inn and over 8.5 @ Houston....another total that opened way to high only to see a ton of under money . Wang did pitch well last time but it was @ Oakland not the OJ bandbox . Oswalt has regressed according to most this year and NYY hitting pretty well . Neither pen is consistent ....
Philly ML -Myers struggling on the road wil need run support hence the over play
Over 10 Philly (1.5 units) Cards young SP , deep lineup , McClelland and his tight zone ..hot and humid ( I believe) ...Myers road issues and RHB issues ...

BOL

Need a quick break but ready to discuss the 4 PM shit ...Thinking SFG and over . Thinking Under @ Zona , Thinking Seattle 1st 5 ML and not sure of total maybe over..see how GM 1 shakes out in NYM first before I worry...suns finally out here no rain maybe hot , humid and sunny for game 2...

Hey SN, what are your thoughts on the Mets Game 2? I want to play the over. I should have played TX both games as a dog knowing they would win at least 1 game. Thanks. Why do you like SF/over later? They haven't done jack in Oak - 1 ER in like 39 innings. Thanks again GL

i agree wholeheartedly with your 4 pm plays. i am going to play the giants, and under in zona. i like the over in san fran, but im not going to play it because it seems kinda marginal. i think KC could win but it is tough betting against arizona at home trying to salvage a series win.

and arizona trying to bounce back from an embarrassing home blowout. are KC bats hot or did randy just get rocked. that is the question

public is pounding the over in zona and books seem very much against moving the line to 9. i think only a couple books moved it to 9. i took the 9 w/ -125 juice which has been something i have been doing. take the half point and pay extra juice because i was losing a lot of totals by .5 or 1 and i have to say it has saved my ass a couple pushes and a couple huge wins. i dont do it all the time and i dont pay more than -130 juice but i like it.

To busy today to hang around...

went with :
1st 5 over 4.5 @ Seattle (2units) & over 9 +105
Sea ML {small}
SFG ML {small} , Over 4 1st 5 inn {small}
Over 8 A's {1.5 units}
Over 27.5 RHE @ SFG
Under 8.5 KC {1.5u}

2 small parlays ML teams avoiding swweps ...

BOL be back for the night game...probably play mets ML and maybe over game 2

GL

alright... sn. I've been rammed into the ground the past 2 days even while decreasing my bet size for interleague, but do angels really get swept at home today? Their offense have the tools. They just arent hitting and it's frustrating as shit. campillo throws hard, but I gotta think the angels take control of this game with saunders on the mound. ATL is not a great road team but they are hitting the ball recently on the road and it's puzzling why that has occurred here and now. Does the lefty in saunders slow them down? I really dont know what to believe right now, but lean the only way i logically can. angels ml. thoughts?

and according to BC's thread, dog are 9-0 on the rl and 7-2 on the ml on sunday in this matchup? Redflag here probably, but I still cant fathom one of the best home team in the mlb getting swept by one of the worst road teams.

Who would've thought The Braves would win the first two by combined score 14-6?! Braves 4-1 this year interleague.
