In every completed series the Fish have played this season (5), the winner of game 1 has won game 3. Philly Sunday, anyone?

Crafty vet Moyer...pretty sure he enjoys the fish

Once again, the Mets with Ollie who knows what you get and the MEts never seem to do well with young pitchers they've never seen - actually if you make your ML debut against the Mets, your almost assured sucess - I might go back to the well with a -.5 1st 5 w/ the Nats...

I really like Perkins, can Laffey get 80 Dp's again?

Kinda like Ohlendorf...

first glance, first thought for me...

May be a home dog day for me, have quite a few on the card and some will not be popular

Cinci +110 to avoid the sweep w/ Owings making his first home start, may like Over 9.5 a little more its hot down here and this is still the smallpark + Owings can rake but Kawakami tends to nibble and allows a lot of baserunners so hopefully Cinci can run on combo of Ross and Kawakami.

CWS +145 Contrares has been anything but reliable but Doc Holliday got hit around in his last start and think this Toronto lineup has to cool off at some point b/c they are all playing way above their heads. They have 7 guys hitting over .300....and neither one of those are Rios or Wells. Guys like Aaron Hill, Jose Bautista, Adam Lind, Travis Snyder and Lyle Overbay are all due for a little regression imo. No way I could lay it and seems like an overestimation here. CWS may have broken out tonight and if Alexi can get it going it would help give em a threat at the bottom of that order.

KC +135 has my attention but thinking under 9 here w/ Gallarragas success during the day and Eddings behind the dish.

Col +125 To avoid the sweep?? Kershaw hit around a little bit last start and had 1 good start and 1 bad start in Colorado. Marquis is as good as they have for a stopper right now and like this price to take a shot.

Cards +115 Why try to beat the Cardinals at home right now?? You prob get 5-6 max out of Harden and St. Louis has won 8 in a row at home no reason they should be dogs as long as Albert is in the lineup.

Hous +105 Parra favored on the road.......please

Pitt and Ohlendorf worth a look +180 after his last start and Peavy may not be right

Oakland +105 and TB vs lefties have been awful

didn't even see you post that tuck - pitt is an improved team, imo - good dog to play when the time is right, this might be it...

It should be Taylor. Miller is hurt. Tonight the Marlins announcers were saying that it was going to be one of two minor league lefties.

Tayor's stats:

Sorry, formatting isn't my thing.

Big play on the Phillies tomorrow for Tuna. I remember watching Moyer toy with the aggressive young hitters of the Marlins last year, and really besides a few bombs the last few nights, the Marlins bats have been dead for a week.

Miller went to the DL after his last start so think they are calling up Graham Taylor from Double A.

maybe a first 5 under on that game. Like lefties against the philly lineup, but I don't trust the fish pen at all.

Tito, I like your thoughts on the Nats too. That is the only other game I have played so far, but I have only capped the NL.

Zimmerman had a nice spring and a good first start. The Nats hit LHP fairly well. Ollie has been like the old Ollie his last season or so with the Pirates thus far this year. I think that line is 20 cent too high.

initial leans:

Ari/SF U 9
Mariners ML
Royals/Tigers U 9.5 hopefully
Pirates ML
Phils/Fish 1st 5 U
Phils ML
Braves ML

I have to get rid of the terrible taste Sat night left in my mouth ...just awful job by me ....

Moyer owns the Fish : 10-1 L11 starts and 5-0 at Pro Player . Cantu is back which is huge but supposedly Hanley has back issues he is playing through . The pen looks like ass after a great stretch and they are throwing a Double A LH with a road trip on deck..Fish struggles vs Wash LHs Olsen and Lannan recently ....just nothing looks good for Florida here other then an avoid the sweep play . The Taylor kid doesnt throw hard and relies on control .

Boy do I hate Cle and Pavano more then ever . What a stinker today . Good news is they faced essentially the same type pitcher 3 straight games in Bannister , Blackburn and Slowley and did absolutely nothing on offense scoring 1 run total ! Good thing is they face a LH now buts its Perkins who has been real sharp so far . One thing I saw is he made all his turns on normal rest and now goes on 2 extra days rest . Does this mess up him streak ?? Have to look at past work on long rest ( quick peak 4 starts last year with 6+ days and he was at his best but have to see the game log ). Laffey has been solid and Twinkies have struggles vs LHP. Keep riding the Under on Sunday trend for CLE and MINNY ?

Thought Zimmerman wiggled out of a few jams in his debut and this his 1st away game now . Ollie cant avoid the one terrible inning . Looks like an Over play ......Gorman ump saw like 44-21 home team but didnt break it down by any means ...Nats like 10-43 L53 away need alot to bet them away ...

Like the Reds ML with owings since I saw his 2 solid career starts vs ATL. Nelson behind the dish has a home bias trend as well but again didnt break it down ...Kawakami has been medicore to date imo...

Balt as we know is terrible on Sunday and has Guthrie on Monday to avoid the 4 game sweep. They did rally at the end today but came up short so the momentum could spill over . Tough call to be honest but small lean to Orioles as they are a fade IMO vs RHP...

Cant say there is a Houston reliever I deem trustworthy and well Russ Ortiz is Russ Ortiz still. Still Houston hit the LAD LH well so have to look at the Astros to avoid the sweep...Parra has this habit of pitching well until the mid innings on teh road then imploding usually in the 5th . Recall it happeneing vs Hous last season both times and this season seems to be the same deal.....Ortiz the mess needed 116 pitches to complete 5 innings and we have a Prince Fielder sighting .....Parra as road chalk is a joke though ...think 16 starts away 8 times he failed to go 5 and another 3 he failed to complete 6 ...

Halladay is a beast who has had badluck in CWS dropping all 4 starts despite pitching well. Contreras sort of similiar in that manner vs Tor but not nearly as solid...CWS is 11-1 L12 Sunday games and 13-3 as homedogs also 37-17 in game 3s after dropping the 1st 2 games....after the runs like the UNDER here exect good outings from both SP .....

Hard to not like Galarraga but the price looks outrageous to me . Ponson was terrible last start and not very good the last 2 seasons vs DET . Still Galaragga at the price is high IMO on the road...

Cards under maybe but have to lean the Cubbies ..

Marquis has pitched well vs LAD in the past and Kershaw another youngster who should rarely see the role of road chalk. Jimenez allowed 4 in the top 1st while COL battled to make it 6-5 after 5 they never scored again but also after cutting it to 4-3 Ubaldo allows 2 right back to LAD...

Weaver has been good at home but has had some issues vs SEA though more so at Safeco where he has been terrible. Washburn has been solid so far and good vs LAA in thepast although somewhat inconsistent when returning to his former home ....

High price with Peavy dealing as his inconsistency continues. However if McLouth cant play here and Pitt usually poor on Sundays cant see how I pass on big Jake...

Cain has had some issues @ Zona and Garland was solid last outing . Hate to say it but lean Zona but SF has owned them to date....

Have to like NY as both pens are thin at this point and Pettitte has the better chance of lasting 7 + innings ....

according to shortline Emmel is 16-1 UND L17 Sundays so that makes sense to me already leaning that way .....Under @ KC..

Peavy is a but of mystery but his 2 home starts are still pretty good . Wilson DNP today , McLouth is questionable and Doumit on the DL . Monroe is swinging it well but you have to think that Peavy is another animal even at less then 100% ...Monroe , the 2 LaRoche's and Hinske are the middle of the lineup ...?? Think Hill was just terrible today and SD couldnt overcome that as it got worse every inning and they are hot / cold vs LHSP...looking for a parlay partner ...

Can someone explain why the total is 9 in the dbags/giants game?

Had this one at 8, only arguments for an OVER i can see is hallion behind the dish.

Totals with cain usually set low 7.5ish, so wonder why this one is set at 9. Two out of cains last 4 in zona were sub-par outings and he had some problems with a lot of baserunners and walking guys but he made the right pitches when he needed to and got out of some jams.

Arizona is not hitting anything and really dont see it changing tomorrow. Coupled with the fact its offered a -05 gonna be a sucker and bite on the under 9 with a lot of other guys it seems, but that one stood out.

Also considering the over in anaheim and STL, but the juice is a bit steep. May just pass and wait to get 9 @ even $$ later on. Anaheim seems good since both pens are taxed and as a series these teams usually go over. Washburn has got to come down to earth eventually and maybe a small park will hurt him. If i remember right he has good day splits but gotta check LA's numbers against him. Like nut said weaver is a lot better at home but SEA has great numbers against him.

Price on halladay is right about on if not 10 cents steep tomorrow. Like the jays but cant lay it. Maybe include in parlay

Will be on philly as well as the wrong team is favored here and watching pinny from the opener to now looks like the lines moving back the other way. So if you like philly play em now.

See a lot of guys on the board with big plays on the phills to sweep and its scary but looks like good play. FLA has been exposed and guys who can change speeds and make good pitchers pitches fucks this team up. Dont hang a breaking ball, Dont throw them a fastball over the plate and you can shut them down. This team does not have good situational hitting, all their offense is predicated on HR balls.

We know moyer's numbers against the fish are phenonimal (11-1, 2.91 ERA), and hes the type of vet that can shut these free swinging bats down.

And if he doesnt have a lead, the pen will give it up. How many innings are they expecting to get out of this taylor kid? Will he be on a pitch count? hayden penn can pitch, Calero will probably be available as he got a 1 pitch out but pitched a lot recently and doubt theyre gonna wanna have lindstrom throw, pinto not available.

Fish had no one left tonight to even warmup save Badenhop. the pen is still a huge question mark and not sure theyre going to respond to these 2 blown saves well . First big gut check for a team that came out of the gates on fire (2 series with the nats though). Usually like to play teams to avoid a sweep at home but looks like philly is the right play.

Pitt on the road is 4-4. 3 of the losses were Snell. Padres at home are 6-3. Some edge to Padres. Both teams reek on Sunday but Pitt a little worse. Umpire fairly good for Peavy in the past. Pitt better day team. Karstens going next against major look ahead. Price is still too high to be reasonable as Padres are clearly slumping but I do not like teams coming off of 10 run games. Probably light play on Pitt first half. You can look at this many ways but they all come back to the fact that San Diego and Peavy are clearly over priced.

Playing Zimmerman first half and game but more first half. Play trash and get trash. See the last starter throwing half his pitches for strikes and getting 3 errors. Zimmerman has thrown over 2 thirds his pitches for strikes and there have been no errors. Perez is 2 and 4 last 6 at home. Both teams reek in third game but as big chalk the Mets record of 0-5 stands out. Both teams are averaging .279 on left and right handed pitching. The only real point here is if you bet on garbage like Cabrera you get what you deserve and if you bet on someone trying to win and who the team has won with you are making a reasonable investment.

Cubster may be right about the first half under in Florida. I am not allowed to play Philadelphia as Moyers has been pitching very badly and is 47 years old and obviously should be out of the game. From the past he did pitch well with this umpire. Likely just to pass looking at current lines on this game.
Regarding the Cleveland game there is no Cleveland under on Sunday at home trend anymore but there is a clear under trend for Minn away on Sunday.
Played Cleveland ml. They are 4-1 in third game off a loss. They are 5-6 in day games to Minn at 2-4. They have won twice with lafferty and the last 4 times Perkins has pitched on the road he has given up 18 runs. Cleveland last 3 years as a hoime favorite in this range is 25-18. Certainly good arguments for the other side as Perkins is a good day pitcher who has been pitching well and has a winning road record. Not an easy day and a first half under is possible just not clear to me so playing small today.
Have zero interest in the Cubs and real interest in the Cardinals. Reality here is the Cubs are a bad day team and possibly just a bad team so far this season. Cardinals have swept Houston and the Mets at home so far this season and have much better hitting. Cubs probably do have a better starter but that only goes so far. Will track the plus money. If it gets in the 15 or higher cents range will play the Cardianals.

There has been talk on, and I somewhat agree with it, the firing of Rick Peterson (mets pitching coach) and the effect it has had on Ollie Perez. Peterson was a "guru" and really worked with Ollie and at the very least helped him focus a bit more. Without him he will revert back more and more to the last couple of years when he was with the Pirates.
Not to mention, he got his payday....

Not only today, but more for the future as well, I think Ollies good starts that he sprinkles in, will be less and less frequent...

12:10 game

Everything you look at supports Philly as play outside of the fact that they have dropped 12 of 15 Sunday games @ FLA (though Moyer 1-0) .

However I dont like it at all now . First thing is Philly really lucked out to win the last 2 days it certainly didnt play better simply outlasted its opponent . This game is huge for FLA losers of 5 straight and trip to Shea starting tmwr with Wrigley series on deck after that .

To me they certainly could have opened Philly favs here and in fact when Moyer pitched @ FLA last season he was -120 Olsen (6/12 game) , +100(7/18) Nolasco ,-120 Volstad (9/21).

So why did they opensomeDouble A kidmaking his Debut somewhere around -120 ? I mean Volstad was only about -130 Park . Which certainly implies to me that neutral field with comparable SP the Phillies would be favs (Volstad and Park not comparable obviously)

Also both games had UNDERS busted late so the pens are actually in decent shape minus Madson maybe who wouldnt pitch if Philly was losing anyway ..

Play: Marlins ..
Lean : Under 10 and 1st 5 inn Under - helping an UNDER could be Jerry Layne since Moyer from99 to 05 had 5 starts with him and allowed 3,3,1,1,1 to the opponents ( full game not him specifically) ...granted Moyer was younger but still a junk throwing 40ish year old+ LH if that span......LYR Moyer won 3-0,4-2 and 5-2 @ FLA...

Think the price has risen more due to the fact that Wilson and Doumit are now on the DL while McLouth is probably out still......

Saying its more adjustment by the books then being bet up IMO..:shake:

Perkins Home/Away splits in 2008 as he has 3 outstanding home starts on his resume to date in 2009 but here 1st away start...

Also interested to see how changing his routine bewteen starts getting 2 extra days here plays out more because be he has been so sharp so far then anything prior history ...

Twins 4-8 L12 away vs LHSP while CLE is 7-3 L10 home vs LHSP including winning 5 straight and both in 2009(home or away)..

Twins just .229 avg vs LHSP wit 9bb to31Ks . 3 Hrs and 13 rbi(166abs) despite already facing 5 LHSP -Oliver , Romero , Buerhle , Washburn and Bedard..

CLE .284 7hrs 24 rbi despite just facing Purcey and CC (116abs)

Twins 4-10 L14 away Sunday since start of 2008 vs CLE 6-7 at home in that role

Added Colorado. Dodgers resume the Giants match which has priority. Marquiz 5-1 last Sunday home starts and Colorado's most dependable pitcher probably this year. First 2 very tight 1 run games so hopefully not needing a lot to tip the scales.
KC over 9 minus 15 cents. Seeing thumderstorms and humidity of 71 which stinks for the pitchers
Humidity is bad in Houston too but 10.5 minus 17 on the over prices me out.
