I really don't get the line on the Lakers. Was expecting them to be -1 or PK.
This is very home dominant series and Hawks didn't really start the season too greatly.
Lakers covered both lines at home and fought hard against two teams that are much better than the Hawks, Clippers and Spurs.
No reason for them to lose this one I think.

Also, Nets should really trash the Magic I think. Just a look at last season's games shows that and it's not like Magic got a lot better over the summer...

No way I'm touching the nets.

not Sunday topic but my god the Sixers….hahaha this is just hilarious quite clear if he has no injuries Michael Carter Williams will be rookie of the year.

I was wondering what the hold up on the Heat line was...

John Wall, who led his team with 26 points on 10-for-19 shooting, six assists and three steals in a 109-102 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, could barely stand because of his lower back.

Spasms started in the third quarter and he was in excruciating pain in the locker room.

"Yes," Wall responded when asked if it's the first time he has had this back issue. "And it hurts badly right now."

Watched the Wiz Sixers game and Wall was getting worked on by the trainers in the second half. It was clear his back was bothering him.

Sixers 3-0 and Suns 2-0, the top two teams in ESPN's tanking rankings. And today they have a story up saying that the Sixers should trade Turner, Hawes and Young so they can stay on the tanking path.

Well, having been burnt by the Spurs game last season, I'm not sure how much I trust the Heat but, at the same time, the possibility of no Wall or Nene for the Wizards coupled with a Heat team that should be plenty pissed off over their start to the season should make for an interesting dilemma. And besides, that Spurs team was a little deeper than the Wizards - other than Bradley Beal, there's not really anyone I could imagine carrying the offensive load for WAS.

I'll have to think about it...

@WojYahooNBA: Teammates were convinced Russell Westbrook could've played OKC opener, describing him as explosive as ever. Source confirms he plays tonight

Since I know a lot of you like revenge angles, circle Friday January 17 on your calendars (the next meeting between the Spurs and Blazers)...

On TV: League Pass

  • After 1,391 games as a player (sixth all-time in the NBA), Jason Kidd will coach his first game, having sat out the Nets’ first two games serving a league suspension.
  • Asked what he expected to be his biggest challenge, Kidd said: ”The way this team is built — and I’m very fortunate to have great guys — just understanding different combinations because we have a lot of different ways we can go. But (to) understand that it’s a marathon, and that I don’t want to run guys’ minutes up over 35, 36 a night, and to be able to use that depth. Sometimes you can get focused on just leaving that group out there, and maybe leave ‘em out too long.”
  • Magic forward Tobias Harris remains out with a sprained left ankle.
  • Glen Davis, who has had two operations on his left foot since he last played in January, has returned to practice but only on a non-contact level, according to Magic coach Jacque Vaughn. No timetable has been set for the return of Davis.
  • Nets backup center Andray Blatche will play the game $15,000 lighter in the wallet, having been fined for making an obscene gesture with 2:40 remaining in Friday night’s win against Miami.
  • Brooklyn won all four meetings last season, holding Orlando to 76.3 points per game.
  • NETS LINEUP: Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Brook Lopez, Joe Johnson, Deron Williams.
  • MAGIC LINEUP: Maurice Harkless, Jason Maxiel, Nikola Vucevic, Arron Afflalo, Jameer Nelson.

[h=2]CELTICS AT PISTONS, 6 P.M. ET[/h] November 3, 2013 · 5:09PM
TV: League Pass

  • Brandon Jennings, acquired from Milwaukee in a blockbuster trade this offseason, will make his Pistons’ debut tonight. Jennings, who missed the first two games with a hairline fracture of his mandible, will come off the bench while Chauncey Billups and Will Bynum start in the backcourt for the third consecutive game. “He’s ready to play,” coach Mo Cheeks said. “We’ll throw him out there and see how he feels, how his wind is and go from there.”
  • Rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who played 45 minutes in Detroit’s first two outings, will see his playing time diminish with Jennings back. “It’s tough to play five guards,” Cheeks said. “It wouldn’t be right, it wouldn’t make a lot of sense. He has played well and we’ll just have to figure out how to get him in there.”
  • Coach Brad Stevens won’t alter his starting lineup despite an 0-2 start. “We’ve had two great first quarters,” he said. “Maybe we look a little different in the middle or the end but we’re not going to changed the starting lineup.”
  • Boston ranks last in defensive rebounding percentage, which is a major concern against the Pistons’ rugged frontline. “We’re really getting broken down on that initial drive and not doing a great job of blocking out,” Stevens said. “If we don’t (get better) tonight, we’ll be on the cover of the next press release because Andre Drummond can make people look silly as he rolls down the lane. Josh Smith and Greg Monroe can, too.”
