SEC Week 4

A few interesting ones this week. Should start to learn more about the contenders as the schedule difficulty begins to ramp up

Here is an opinion from a SEC outsider --- Mizzou at LSU (-4).........LSU @ Mizzou (-2.5)

Unrelated note, I laid the 24 with LSU over ucla (noting your comment above).......gonna get ugly
Interesting, I don't have the HF swing so high. My initial thought was Mizzou -4 home/LSU -1 home

Obviously I have Mizzou slightly higher on a neutral but it's negligible

Arky now +3.5 and ml vs Auburn tempting for me. Any injury concerns for this game from last week?
Arkansas caught my attention with their performance at OKST where they outgained them 648 to 385 and did a good job holding down OKST running game only 26-59 and basically shutting down Gordon. However, they managed to lose in OT. I am entertaining thoughts on playing the over in this game. I hate betting against Auburn at home in Jordan Hare, just too many crazy things seem to happen there.

Getting 3 TDs with Vandy is tempting.
I didn’t expect 24 for LSU/UCLA

Drinkowotz plays so conservative when allowed. It’s like the only time mizzou opens things up and lets those beast WRs eat is when they get down which isn’t likely here. My concern would be after seeing Vandy a bit their qb seems more runner than passer and mizzou d did an incredible job taking bc qb legs away. Just dunno how much Vandy scores here? There no way I’d lay the points cause if given the chance drink will just sit on ball all game so that a huge number, if you told me this asshole would open it up and let cook get cooking I’d say tigers could win this bitch 41-10 but I doubt he will do that. It just the fact I dunno if Vandy scores more than 14 here that prob keep me away.

You're making LSU the favorite on a neutral? I would have to disagree.
Agree on this. Also I'm giving HFA less consideration than I used to with this new playoff and the mega conferences. Not a huge difference but less than the normal 3 pts virtually everywhere. Maybe LSU at night warrants that kind of number, PSU whiteout, etc I guess. Hell you guys at home on Friday night probably warrant an extra point or two but I've fallen off that line of thinking for the most part.

I agree. HFA just not worth what it once was.

Teams deal with noise much better than they used to and officials are under much greater scrutiny than they used to be.

Not that long ago, colleges had their own grads officiating their games. Absolutely ridiculous.

Yeah, pretty wild that even 6-7 years ago we had officials that were hardly impartial officiating big games.

Never forget the Mikey Weber ass slap, for instance.

Another week that got away from me. Such is life. Kind of a sneaky good SEC slate. Only one game that has any kind of national relevance, but some interesting circumstances around several games.

Florida @ Miss St. Could Sun Belt Billy get Lebby'd? Wasn't a loss to Miss St the final straw for Zook? Didn't he get Croom'd? Like most everyone else, I think the decision has been made on Napier, but there's the situation with the AD that might make the BOT slower to move. I do think they'll go after Kiffin, but I'm not positive UF is all that much better a job. All the usual advantages that used to be true aren't all that relevant anymore with NIL and the portal, plus Ole Miss has a team that will be in the playoff race all season, and if they make it, can UF be patient enough to wait on OM to be eliminated? I guess you can say the recruiting is better in Florida, but Lane has never been a strong HS recruiter so I don't know how appealing that would be to him. Anyway, I digress. I have no idea what to expect here, but I think Florida is the correct side to bet on, if you are so inclined

Some great thoughts on LSU/UCLA above, and I can only echo them. It's LSU or nothing here

Ark/AU is very intriguing. I think it's as close to a must-win as you can get for Hugh Freeze. He sold a bill of goods to the fans and all those WR he brought in, and to say he's fallen short of expectation would be an understatement. Sounds like they may get Cam Coleman back, but at what level is unknown. AU seems to be a pretty average to poor offensive team, even with a really good RB in Hunter. On the flip side, Ark seems like they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory pretty regularly, and especially against AU. It was in this game 4 years ago that the Jason Autry ref crew first got on my radar when they gifted AU some calls to get back in the game and take the lead, then let Bo Nix get away with spiking the ball backward to allow them a game winning FG. I was hoping to get a few more points, but I think Ark is the play, though it would not surprise me in the least if Ark covers for 58 minutes of the game and then inexplicably throws up on themselves to lose late

Tenn looks legit, but I get that their schedule has been dogshit. OU hasn't looked all that great, though they've played better competition, plus they are possibly getting some injured starters back. This is Nico's first true road game, and the starting LT is out. I have a hard time laying a TD on the road with a first time starting QB. I think I'm going to wait, but I will be on OU

Good thoughts from Grovehard on the Clay Helton-Kiffin connection. I was all set to advocate laying the number with Ole Miss no matter what it is against inferior competition, but I could absolutely see Kiffin calling off the dogs here

Only thing of interest in the Texas-ULM game is the play of Arch Manning. If he lights it up, how loud do the calls for him to Wally Pipp Quinn Ewers get? On no planet should they play Arch over a healthy Ewers, but every mistake Ewers makes moving forward will be overblown by the loudest and dumbest (and sometimes richest) of the fanbase.

Last paragraph so true.
