Let's see: Philly off a big win, and NJ off the thrashing they took at home. Likin NJ here. To beat Jersey, you need inside scoring. Flat out. This is why Jersey took Chicago and got slaughtered by Toronto. Philly has no inside post offense (Dalembert? no). Also, speedy PGs can make Kidd look old, Kidd looks like a genious if you're not that speedy type. As much as I like Andre Miller, Kidd will be able to stick to him like glue. R Jeff guarding Andre which should offset him a bit. Like NJ to come out winning pretty big here. Good teams respond to big losses with big wins. Bad teams respond to big upsets with big losses- rules of thumb. Philly prolly celebrating a bit now tonight with their upset over Chicago.

Prediction: New Jersey 97-87
Orlando Magic +2 @ Washington
I am not at all surprised with Washington's 0-2 start, as everyone knows they cannot get it done on the road. Actually, their 2 losses are beyond just that though. Their cohesiveness isn't quite there, maybe a home game will help them out, I say not. Orlando got beat pretty bad by the better Detroit team. Orlando will do perfectly fine against teams like this Wash team- with no interior defense. Dwight Howard should get 20+ against Etan Thomas. Wash does not have the defense like Detroit, and this one imo will be similiar to Orlando/Milwaukee. Milwaukee- a mostly guard oriented team- is similiar to Wash in style. Jamison/Rashard Lewis should be kinda interesting, and they'll probably both get theirs. We'll se how Arenas does, but I'm guessing he'll shoot a lot, and end with something like 8-25. with like 25 points as he'll prolly be jacking them up. Wash offense just is not impressing me, and is slowly making me compare them to the New Orleans Saints of the NBA. Small lean to over as Wash shouldn't be able to stop Orlando, but at the same time, they'll still get osme of their own

Indiana +4 @ Memphis
This line makes a bit of sense. Indiana already had played 2 games, this being 3rd in 4 nights. Both the games have been down to the wire. Memphis lost to SA, but gave them a game. However, I'm not sure if Memphis is worthy of a 4 pt favorite in any NBA game. One play that I like here is the over. Both teams changed their philosophy into a more run and gun style.

Chicago -2.5 @ Milwaukee
I have a very diffcult time betting Milwaukee. 3rd game in 4 nights for Milwaukee, and I believe Yi will be guarding tyrus? Chicago off that upsetting loss to Philly in their home opener. Milwaukee just doesn't have the skill to keep up with many teams and will rely on the outside shot way more than an NBA team should. They'll have some impressive big wins or upsets with good shooting, but overall they should be a good fade for a while. Chicago doesn't have the interior post that I like in teams facing Milwaukee, but they are still 0-2 and I doubt they start 0-3. Although Chicago chalk on the road is scary, I think they'll huddle and get this one down. They shot 38% and I just don't see that happening for a while.

Portland Blazers +12 @ Houston
don't like this game. Big spread to lay on Houston, but I do not see them losing. Portland's scrappiness will have a similiar effect to Houston as it did against SA, its difficult to bet against Houston after what they showed. I believe this is home opener though, so who knows. No lean
Sacramento +14.5 @ Dallas
This is the game I've had circled. Howards back from suspension and he's pissed off. Dallas's loss today only confirmed by initial thought- that they'd look ahead for today's game. Home opener for Dallas and the story is perfect. Howard gets suspended for hitting Miller, after Miller shoved Harris. Howard gets 2 games, Miller nothing. A pisse doff Howard says that this is unfair, and that he'll "remember" this. well... here's your hance to show it. Dallas off an embarassing loss, and will win this game by many many points. Small lean to under since this'll be a blowout. Sacramento has shown nothing thus far and nothing points toward them changin this.

Golden State +8.5 @ Utah
man, my warriors need SJax back. although immediate revenge, it shouldn't do much for my warriors. we just aren't that good, esp not on the road. Utah is the type that will kill us as they got the rebounding down and the fundamental offensive strategy to kill us and rip thru our D. small lean to the chalk unfortuantely
