Roy Halladay is 5-0-3 to Over his last 8 starts in which the loser wasn't shutout, at an average of 9.65 runs/game.

For the season generally -
O/U 7-3-1 - avg 9.45 runs/game when the loser scores at least 2 runs
O/U 1-9-2 - avg 4.58 runs/game when the loser scores 0-1 runs

Since July the 6th, the Chicago Cubs are...

- 17-1 SU in games which they score at least 3 runs (13-5 to Over)

- 0-9 SU in games which they score 2 runs or less (8-1 to Under)

Capping a side for their games has been as "easy" as simply concerning yourself with how their offense will go.

Baltimore's last 38 games of offense -

11, 2, 9, 2, 5, 7, 5, 7, 10, 3, 10, 6, 8, 5, 7, 1, 1, 5, 7, 11, 1, 8, 8, 1, 1, 5, 6, 5, 13, 7, 3, 10, 3, 4, 5, 3, 4 & 9 run totals.

_7 totals of 0-2 runs.
_6 totals of 3-4 runs.
25 totals of 5+ runs.

Their current 13 game streak of scoring at least 3 runs is their best this season.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore has gone 62 games without posting consecutive Under results. They are 41-17-4 to Over during this period, and are 15-0-2 to Over off their last 17 Under results.

Lots of good looking dogs IMO..

Also have my eye on Liriano. He looked awfully good and its not like this is "just getting back in the groove" time for him.. He has been getting it done for a couple months in AAA.. Very capable of going deep in pitch counts..

Looks like it should be...

Bill Welke in LAA
Eric Cooper in Colorado
Mike Everitt in SF

Myers laying -210 :36_11_6:

Not saying I'll take Pitt, but no freaking way I'd lay -210 with the wife beater.

How about Sheets as a 2 dollar fav vs Redding. Sabathia is a great pitcher. Sheets is a guy who is 4-4 at home. Losing record last 20 in August (8-12). I know its a bad chart play but I am really going to have to look at that one.

tuck - FYI, Washington is now 3-15 their last 18 vs teams with winning records, and MIL is 14-4 SU their last 18 vs teams not from Chicago.

I hate the card tomorrow.

Maybe Boston with Matsuzaka on the hill and Contreras opposing him?

CWS are 5-6 SU their last 11 at home vs righties, and their home winning % is .657 vs righties, as opposed to .750 vs lefties.

fish will get the win tomorrow... mark it down... olsen will finally get some run support and hopefully will get some good d behind him... he has been decent against the mets with a 4.0 era i dont see how stokes has the line he has

Florida's Under result Friday means they've matched their season high mark of 3 consecutive Under results for the 8th time. They are 7-0 to Over off their 7 previous instances of 3 straight Under results this season.

Contreras pitched on August 3rd against Durham in triple a. 5 innings 3 runs 4 hits and 3 walks.

For those guys who remember that blankets guy's sister's 0-54 record attending Giants games that was posted sometime back, just thought I'd relay the fact apparently she attended the Giants game tonight.

She's not 0-54 any more

I will put my 2 cents in since I can't sleep.

I am leaning with the Dodgers/Giants over 8.5. Kurodas last 3 games his ERA is 6.88 and his last outting against the Giants he gave up 7 runs in just 3.2 innings. This was in LA. Now Correia last 3 games his ERA is 4.67 and for the season is 5.53. Correia's career ERA against the Doyers is 5.3. Add some bullpens to the mix and I can see this game hitting 9+. Also both teams have been hitting righties well in the Last 5 games. What yall think about this one?

San Fran has scored more than 4 runs once in 14 games, averaging over that span just 2.43 runs/game.
Their last 9 games are even worse, averaging 2.11 runs/game & carrying an 8-1 to Under mark.
They've scored 0-2 runs in 12 of their last 24 games - any team giving you "nothing" 50% of the time isn't a team that personally interests me re: potential Over bets.

I agree its a scary thought.San Fran and the Doyers offenses can be left at another city from the previous series. I am just trying to find something thats appealing on a card thats not attractive to me.By the way thats some good stats you posted. I am going to have to think about it hard.Probably end up like you and just move on to something else.

Pencil me in to the cant sleep crew:

Hard to pass on JAYS ML tmrw . They lost the opener and Game 3 features Cliff Lee vs Scott Richmond who could do well vs CLE because its LHB that give him headaches IMO.

Anyway Paul Byrd is pitching real well now and has for about 3 ,4 starts . The one problem besides his bloated road stats are his 5 day starts have been rough. CLE is 0-5 in those games and he has a 7.16 ERA. His road BAA is 310 and 17Hrs allowed as well.

DAY: 27.2 Inn 35H 22 R 22 Er 2 BB 6 Ks 10 HRs

Byrd has lead CLE to wins in just 3 of 13 road starts and the Tribe offense has given about 3.3 runs per in those games. Also they are not a very good DAY team.

Cle 12-22 day games 21-12-1 UND. Only 3-10 on turf as well. Tor is 22-15 in day games .

Scott Rolen will sit on SAT though to rest his ailing shoulder . No word if Garko or Cabrera will play yet.

Halladay lost @ CLE already when CC outdueled him ...

Minor concern is that Halladay does pitch his best when given that extras days rest . Just hard with Byrd's day record to like the Tribe here even though line seems a tad high @ -220 expected -200. I loved the UND on Friday but passed when it shot to 10.5 and yeah it was a joke of a game 5-2 never close . I respected the line move. Here though tough to like the UND if Byrd past day struggles creep up it could be an early spot for Tor who hasnt CLE pitching at all scoring JUST 6 runs in 5 games !! Which 3 came in extra innings !

Byrd prefers the fake stuff and indoor baseball especially past few years .

BAA 34 points lower career on turf and ERA is 0.33 lower . Indoors his ERA is basically 1 full run lower and huge dro in WHIP (0.22) AND BAA(.024). So he isnt lunch meat except of the day issues.....

Cant wait to see these LINEUPS ....

Strong Lean to Jays ML and look ti parlay it as well ...

Notes :

Nats who I did stupidly back today are just 3-16 L 19 away vs RHSP( dates back to win vs Owings @Zona) but killed some giants in Jiminez , Cook and Jurrijens ...Think Sheets has a nice chance for a smooth start here .

Und LAA and Angels ? Giese should be able to hold the fort down till nyy can get there core relievers into game. Lackey just started to quick vs nyy on the heels of his no jit bid . extra rest is a plus ...yanks huge under team in the day 25-12 but also 25-13 SU. UND 42 -18 -4 in L64 game 2s..

Cubs ML ? Wellenmeyer was real good last time out biut like Byrd just atoygh spot as Z is real good vs STL. L10 starts 70.1 inn only 15 runs but jusy 11 earned never more then 2 earned (just 4 runs once). He haswon 9 straight vs them since @ 2-1 loss in late 05 away...

Thats all now I am tired:36_11_6::cheers:

gjl, agree as always with the fish. really like our chances after getting shut out. olsen has been pitching very well lately. i think i will also take a look at the alternate RL. there is always value on the alt rl with the marlins because when they win its usually convincing.

my concern there would be, after a long stretch of consistently putting up high totals (11 x 5+ run totals in 13 games), Texas looks like they've hit the wall - 3, 0 & 1 run totals their last 3 games.

giggity you are right about the RL ... just think we arent going to let down oliver perez has our number and i think a nice bounce back tonight.. are hanley and uggla going to do something down the stretch.... i mean we all know the real dan uggla is a 270 hitter but hanley has been awful.

This is very true IMO . A good indicator has been the recent DECLINE in base hits for Texas . Last 9 games Texas cracked 10 hits just 3 times ( 10 twice and 12 once). Still managed 50 runs even with just 3 the past 2 games but clearly Murphys absence has stalled the offense some as those were his 1st two missed games . In the beginning the run totals were still strong but clearly have tapered off of late .

Plus factor in Hamilton is no longer smoking HOT , Bradley has missed the past week (which hurts Hamilton ) and now Murphy is on the shelf.

Bradley 320 19 60 in only 300abs(about 170 less then most other Rangers)
Hamilton : only 256 away 10Hrs 45 Rbi though , 14Hrs 61 rbi 226 .328 abs 1st 2 months and 61-223 since with 13hrs 47 Rbi .274 good but considerable dropoff
Murphy 275 15Hr 75 RBI

Chris Davis promotion was another boost to the offense at one point . Blalock returned for a short time and as well as Vazquez has played the loss of his utility status puts Metcalf in essentially Blalock's place at times......another dropoff...

So clearly the Texas lineup has been severly weakened bhy these absences .

Something to keep in mind.....

i also dont get how hanley is only batting 250 with 2 dingers against lefties.. shit is down right terrible... they are painting that fastball on the outside corner and he just cant hit it this year.. last year he hit 400 against lefties.. down right nuts

i think cruz needs to get called up for another shot in the arm for the rangers get some life back into them.. all these guys have reached there careeer highss in games played

Cubsker - Looking at how the Twins played last night and I'd lean towards the OVER. Last night the Twins loaded the bases twice and got nothing. They easily should've had at least 8 runs themselves.

Despite what people are saying, Liriano is not back to his form from 2 years ago. He has a difficult time spotting his pitches and is subject to high WHIP. He's had success against KC in the past, but he's on a strict pitch count and the Twins bullpen has been awful on the road and even worse the last week.

3 relivers used last night in the game and I doubt Liriano will go past 6.

Just my opinion, but I'll add with Grienke on the mound, the Twins hitters such as Mauer and Morneau have not had a lot of success against in the past. Look for Redmond to possibly be behind the dish (over .600 BAA vs. Grienke) or maybe in the DH spot.

Just commented in Tee*Dubs thread about the KC game. Cant understand how Minny is favored here . Seems insane to me . Either bait KC money or just public misperception on Twins and Liriano. Redmond is 600 but 3-5 hard and Grienke had 1 poor start of 3 vs Minny past 2 years . Whole Minny team is 18-77 with 3 xbhs and M&M is 7-40 with those 3 doubles all in the 1 poor game back in 4-2007 .

Minny had the bases loaded and did squeeze some runs in from what I recall (3rd and 9th innings) . Twins just 6 hits and bunch of walks . KC had opps wouldnt say great opps alot of mulitiple runners with 2 out but didnt get any clutch hits . Ended the game on the bases loaded with DeJesus and starnded 2 in the 7th as well . Also Minny got 2 runs on a bases loaded groundout that featured an error.
If the game is attractive for an over play could be more due to KC hitting vs LHP . They tore up Buerhle and Richard recently and are now 12-3 L15 games vs LHSP which Grienke is 5-2 in that stretch.

Public misperception is my vote, SN. Public thinks Minny better team, Minny more motivated in playoff race, so Minny favored. I'm not saying I agree with the play, but KC today would be a textbook contrarian play. GL with your choice, I'm staying off the game all together.

i saw the line went to 7.5 so it's a no play for me there. Looking at the Royals but I don't like how the Royals hit LHP.

What are you looking at or for ? 12-3 past 15 games vs LHP and after a slow start 10-4 L14 at home vs LHP (1-3 in April losing vs CC , Lee and Pettitte not chopped liver)

Aviles 419 3hr 11 rbi
Butler 345 4Hr 15 rbi
Olivo 318 6Hr 14rbi
Guillen 308 8hr 32 rbi
Dejesus 283 1hr 16 rbi

Grudz absence hurts (.385) but German in the past has done well vs LHP and solid in limited atbats vs Liriano. Teahen and Gordon dont do much . If Buck catches with Olivo DH his bat has some good pop ...

Like I said not real sure what to make up of the line as just cant believe Grienke is the dog ....KC has shown to hit LHP though IMO.....worst case expect a 4 spot ..

Zambrano 1.27 era/1.05 WHIP

Brian Stokes will make a spot start on Saturday for the Mets.

He's 10-8 with a 4.41 ERA at Triple-A, and the Mets should be happy if he keeps the game relatively close. John Maine is expected to fill the spot in the rotation when it comes up again on Wednesday.

and Maddux @ Coors isnt pretty from what I recall.

Dont know how far back this goes but since his last Loss vs STL big Z is 8-0 with 11 starts of 2 runs or less.....

Shocked Halladay came out for the 7th ! he labored big time today especially the 6th inning and boy do I need a TOR comeback.....of course a double on pitch 125 as a type..

STL 16-5 L21 Sat's
STL 26-12 L38 Game 2s
STL 3-11 L14 vs teams with a winning record

Cubs 42-12 L54 as home favs
Cubs 12-1 with Big Z laying 150 to 200 L13 at home
Cubs 24-11 with Big Z in Game 2s
Cubs 3-8 L11 in Big Zs L11 at home vs teams with winning records

Home team 20-8 with Hoye .....

so not helpful !! 2 most important trends cancel eachother out

I need the come back as well SN. Thought Roy would cruise after getting some early support. go blue birds

Not looking good bro . Have the over as well which should have hit already. Jays havent done a thing since the leadoff double that was stranded in the 3rd and Byrd has just 75 pitches ....looks like its over @ Rogers Centre.....

Colorado 8-2 in those starts.
Cook 76 ip, 1.54 era, .98 WHIP

Had Tampa/Seattle Over 8.5 (5-3 Final) Dodgers/Giants Over 8.5 (6-2 Final) Yesterday... Starting to hit that decline I usually see at the end of July-End of Aug. Starting to lean off Baseball...But I do like Yankees and Over 9.( Over is 8-0 in the last 8 meetings in Los Angeles.)

Boston but juice is kinda high. Texas but would like better dog odds. KC but would like better home dog odds on a under .500 team @ home. Like Cubs, but like the odds on St. Louis with Wellemeyer on the hill. BUT CHC are 10-1 in Zambranos last 11 starts vs. STL. Maybe Over?! Over is 8-1-1 in STL last 10 road games.

Philly, would not touch at -200, let alone -180. PHI are 7-19 in Myers' last 26 starts. Over 10 Play Maybe. Over 8 In Milwaukee. Last 2 Wins for me have been OVER in Cin. Any reason NOT to take Houston and the Over 9?! Over is 21-9-4 in the last 34 meetings. HOU are 42-19 in the last 62 meetings.

Any Thoughts, Please. Guess I Like Yankees Over/Houston Over.

Actually really like Philly and fine with the ML as well . Myers has been very solid since his return and the guy was expected to be a #1 type SP . Even with all his struggles the HOME stats are pretty solid.

3.81 ERA 54.1 inn 8starts 43H 20BB 57Ks 11 Hrs of 25

18INN 11 h 6R 5Er 6BB 7 K (5 walks came early in the NYM game his 1st back) past 3 starts

Snell 1-6 team 4-8 8.18 ERA
58.1 INN 88H 34 bb 47K 8 Hrs on the road

Think Philly basically handed Pitt the win yesterday inserting Les Walrond into a scoreless game

Pitt 11-45 Last 56 games getting +201 or better

Pitt 5-21 L26 as a dog with Snell SP.

Myers 0-7 L7 Sat starts and 3-12 L15 favored at home but 3-5 home record in 2008

Home team 14-3 L17 with Hudson behind the dish ...

Just think Pitts bats have been fairly quite of late and may be w/o Jack Wilson ( a minor loss) . Tough to see them out hitting Philly even though they shut them out for 12 innings yesterday. Pitt was a bad road team before trading Bay , Nady and DLin LaRoche so the prices are justified and certainly create value at times because they really arent that bad an offense.

Lost in yesterdays game was Blanton 7 inn and 1 hit allowed which Maholm matched . Not sure Snell can match much away from home ...

Have to say from watching early his reputation as a POOR handler of pitcher's is spot on. Last week it was either calling or allowing Edwar Ramirez to throw repeated changeups with 2 strikes to slap hitters and walking 2 hitters with a lead on 3-2 changes.

Now he blows a 96 MPH by Mathis and throws a 2 strike slider again to him !! I mean WTF !! Seriously its the fault of the pitcher for poor location and execution but he started him off with a slider that was a strike but blah and why the fuck not challenge him !

96 .....Right by his ass ...again shit that tarnishes the yankee pen...

Of course 10 seconds previous McCarver nicely jinxed the Yanks repeating how they were the best in the majors when leading after 6 inn with 1 loss!

Painful as a fan to watch ...annoying as an UNDER backer !
