Boston has gone 37 games w/out recording any instances of consecutive Over results. That's their longest such streak since before the 2002 season. Their previous longest such streak in said period was 28 games (in 2002).

While it may seem no coincidence that this has happened with Ortiz absent (he was present for the first 7 games of this streak), Boston has actually averaged more runs on the road (5.12 runs) since Ortiz went down than before he went down (4.06 runs).

Boston is 11-0-2 to Under off the 13 Over results that have occurred during this 37 game run.

They of course play the Yankees tomorrow off tonight's Over result.

Amusing stats. Boston at the Yankees on Saturday. Boston 8 to Yankees 7. 12 over and 3 under. Moose goes 2-1 winning by huge margins with all 3 games going over.

With no real analysis almost certainly betting Washington for the Game. Bottom line the Nationals really want to win with Redding and I am sure the Reds are Deeply concerned with Fogg's desires to become staff ace.
Forget that. On some study the Reds game requires more thought. Not on any thing right now relative to that game but somewhat tempted by Washington team total.

Initial gut is that it seems like a real dangeorus day...too many of the pitching matchups lie in favor of the road teams.

I'm having trouble finding fairly basic stats. ala, I want to know the White Sox record vs. LHP this year. Anyone help?

Also my book has Lackey posted for LAA not Garland.

I'll figure something out for this card tmw. Initial lean is just on the Yankees-Sox under, but its honestly just a lean right now. Also leaning towards the ChiSox and Floyd but want to see LHP numbers first.

seabass, completely agree that the public will have a bad day tomorrow if they/we play what looks enticing...

good luck guys i'm starting my capping now

To me the Yankees are clear action. The only thing that concerns me even a little are Mussina's day numbers but lifetime he sits at up 35 games and with a .349 day era. Comparing the 2 last 3 we see Mussina going 20 innings, giving up 9 runs and walking 4. Masterson in his last 3 went 17, gave up 10 runs and walked 11. He has a 4.58 road era in the minors before coming up. He had one good road day game vs a Phillie team that was dying now I think he gets unlucky. Mussina has actually been a lucky home pitcher on Saturday. 5-2 with the Yanks thru 2004 and 13-7 last 20 at home. The home ump is Danley who is not a good home fav ump but Mussina has pitched well with him on a good sample size.
The pen should be ok with Giese and Robertson rested and Rivera waiting. Do not overestimate this Boston pen on the road. Boston bets are slowing. Not a run off a relief pitcher last night.
Will split 1 unit ml and minus 2.5.

Laid 26 cents also bet over small 9.5 as I have no intention of not backing that 12-3 over on Saturday with these teams. Will have to wait for morning to lay the 2.5.

No he is not playing. Almost certainly seeing Brett Gardner in Left who has a lousy average but has scored 3 runs in his last 2 games.
Played Tampa for 1 unit. Hate to bet before seeing Ump info but could not wait here. Tampa has won 15 of their last 20 home games. Has won 7 straight at home on Saturday. Game 2 after a loss is the KC nightmare. Sonnanstine is on 5 days rest which is his best this year and has won 3 straight at home and just pitched 7 quality innings in a day game in Pitt. The simple truth is all the Tampa starters have warts when you look at them but they are cashing. Meanwhile Greinke who is back on 4 days rest and playing on Saturday where home and away he has a 1-7 lifetime record. Last 2 starts he gave up 8 runs in 11 innings now hello Tampa. Those impressive road wins of Kansas City were playing the worst starters at Arizona and at the Cardinals which are 2 sites that simply seem to have no home field edge. Jackson went 8 so the Tampa pen gets to rest again. We are talking about a 34 and 13 home field edge here.

i like the over in ATL-HOU with an over guy umpire ( Larry Vanover lol!!)

in 2008,
the Over is 9-5
in 2007, the Over is 23-14
in 2006, the Over is 20-14

Hitting stats.
ATL is 0,271 avg batt vs Righties whereas they are 0,263 vs Lefties.
HOU is 0,288 "" "" "" Lefties "" "" "" 0,251 vs righties.

wheather stats at Turner Field
current wind mph: 4WSW
the Over is 14-12 when wind is 0-10 whereas Over is only 4-13 when wind is 10-20 MPH. So the over is not a lock here but is viable.

Key pitching stats . Both starters are not ace like peavy, beckett and company.
JO JO reyes starts vs Houston LAST 2: ERA: 5,58 and awful WHIP of 1,75
Chris Sampson starts vs Atlante LAST 2: ERA: 6,75 and sucking WHIP of 1,62
Last but not the least the public is currently taking the under thinking ATL is an "Under team and with a pretty high total for this team they don't have the balls to take the over.
the total opened at 9,5 and some books have it now at 9 which is a key number with 7 for totals. if i can take the over 9 without laying a lot of juice( more than -110) i will take it

BOL Fellas:cheers:

Fogg has been pitching very well in the minors. Reds are 9-4 in third game of series after a win. He has an uncanny win rate at home on Saturday. Redding wins consistently and gets great support. Walk on by.

Seabass,

I use mlb.com for basic win-loss stats.

milwaukee total si going to fly over that total. JJ hardy is on fire and the team is actually hitting well. Bush is pitching well, but the pirates are recently showing that their offense isnt so impotent after all. We got a clubber to the over at the mound too.

Thinking about 2 dogs. Seattle first 5 and Arizona game. Wakefield this year gave up 1 run in 13 innings to Detroit and is 10-5 lifetime. Dickey is a knuckleballer. Gallarraga simply pitching bad recently and Seattle and Arizona both on the right side of pattern showing plays and days of the week angles. Padres about as screwed up as Arizona. Have not fired on these . Watching line movement and the money.

3:55 :

Over 4.5 runs 1st 5 Innings @ StLouis .

Basically 2 SP of great starts so thinking illogical. Lilly has had some issues in day starts even if you disregard his 1st three starts of the season and act as if Cincy was his 2008 opener . In that and the following day games his ERA was 3.93 ( 9starts)while Lohse's is 4.80 . Lilly has had very good success vs STL in the past but still managed to give up a few runs vs them recently while he tends to struggle in early parts of games . Lohse also struggles more early on especially looking at how teams hit him the 2nd time through the lineup. So just looking for some more early offense . Do lean over for the game but dont think I play it .......

NYY ML:

Pivotal game for NY but Damon's absence huge concern. We saw a much better game from the Yanks yesterday. Still hitting with RISP is a huge problem for them. Masterson has been sound and is unfamiliar to NYY but he has issues with LHB when you see his BB to K and BAA ...More walks then Ks vs LHB but 3 to 1 Ks (21 to 7) vs RHB. Both teams good in day games and Yanks have played well at home on Sat of late . They also are 19-4 in Game3s of series! With Joba on deck they have a chance to split the series. Also lean 1st 5 innings Under and might play....Huge difference is Boston SP in games 1 and 2 Sox caught the breaks but outside of Lowell's HR really didnt earn many runs IMO.....

Later :
Over WSox 8.5
Over 4.5 WSox 1st 5 inn

Leans:

Pitt
Houston
Cincy - just fading Wash vs RHSP
Under 6 1st 5 Inn @ Coors
SD -
Balt - fading Texas away vs LHSP
KC

SN, any thoughts on the full game under 9.5 @ the Stadium? Maybe I'll just take the 1H under 5 at +110, as it seems that every under I've ever taken in a Sox or Yanks game has looked great for 7 innings but ends up going over in the 8th or 9th...

I like Baltimore too, but man has Texas gotten pounded today. They were as high as +118 that I saw, and are now -107.

FWIW I like the full-game under better than the half game.

Sorry HWG . I did play those u5 1st 5 and u9.5 ...

Mussina killed by Manny in both early starts when he was starting to roll and now just 5-25 this week . Moose good vs LHB's and fairly solid vs Boston lineup indivually in his career. Also Moose good string of starts going for past month. Masterson solid and unfamiliar to NY Damon , Posada and Matsui out all key LHBs ....

:shake:

Think the pitching change could have played a role though seems to have opened at -125 Balt ...when Hurley was announced but dropped when switched to Feldman:cheers:

C'mon Yanks. Mussina in an early jam with runners on the corner and 2 outs. Luckily, earlier Pedroia was thrown out at 2nd trying to stretch a single.

Texas away vs LHSP -

3-10

Losses
7-2 Wandy
7-1 Oliver Perez
7-3 Kazmir
5-2 Lee
11-4 Perkins
7-3 Wahsburn
3-1 G.Smith
19-6 Gambler
5-3 Lester
5-2 Bedard

Wins
5-3 Lannan ( 3runs of the pen )
2-0 Bedard
2-1 CC

Now alot of real good LHP's in there but Burres also won early on @ Texas this season . 1 run in 6 innings....

Hate the line move but do like fading Feldman after winning as a huge dog vs the YANKEES.

I was taught to never play Yanks unless they're dogs or very small favs

I understand that arguement in the "old" days but its not about price its about perception and expectations . I say that because most people cant understand what the price should be . So these days when Yanks are dogs or small chalk its probably better to fade away cause everyone is thinking oh NYY is finally cheap....The only impact price has is when you Lose as your going to need to hit a higher % to make up for big chalk losses..

Yanks are far from a great team and always overpriced still they manage to win 90 something games every year ...so its not that hard to find a winning spot for them situational.

I learned from my loss in Game 1 as NYY is now 5-11 in opening games at home ....plus a bad spot to play them with Boston being swept and Yanks scoring 18 runs .....

I understand that mentality but I simply think to play the game you cant limit yourself. I paid for the situation more then anything and generally thats what I do with NYY .......If I wasnt a fan it would be easier to just sit back and fade them almost all of April and May .....

What I would say is only play situations that increase your chance of a play winning rather then worrying about price .....Mercedes or BMWs are never cheap but in relative terms they could be . :shake:

Like Pitt with Maholm. He is there best LHSP and recently has done well on the road despite a shaky recent past vs Milw. Put it this way for the price would u rather lay -150 on Bush vs maholm or Suppan vs Duke ? I see Suppan as better then Bush and Maholm better then Duke . So for me I like the spot ....

Look at the Brewers numbers against LHSP before you make this bet...

Thanks for the info on the Rangers. I should have known that and you are exactly right - I just fell asleep at the wheel. It actually makes me like the bet a lot more (and I placed it...along with the NYYu, CIN, and MILW). Burres is so hit or miss but I like taking the Orioles at home where they have a real bizarre "miracle season" idea going. And I agree with you that its a decent idea to peg Feldman for a letdown after the great but unexpected start against NYY.

Played SD , KC , Pitt , Balt , under 5 1st 5 innings @ Milw . Small plays on Philly , Cle and Houston....GL all .....plus Wsox over and 1st 5 over

Milw definetly built to hit vs LHSP . They have been hot / cold all year vs them and in a hot zone now . Still just 265 at home vs LHSP and Maholm has done well at some tough places lately . Bush lost 5 of 6 career starts vs Pitt . Just think Pitt is 50-50 to win this game ...Prince is 0-10 but Hart , Braun , Cameron and Hall have worn him out ...

REDS ML : Fogg improved in the minors now that he is healthy . Pitched 6 shutout innings vs them last year @ Wash.

Nats 1-8 after being shutout and 2-11 on Saturdays . Worse 7-22 in Game2's of series ! 5-16 L21 vs RHSP

Playing teams like Arizona and the Padres is obviously questionable. Fact
Padres in game 2 of a first game of series road win are 1-5. Arizona at home in game 2 is 3-1. Looking at the starters and the situation the wrong side is favored. Still have not bet.

Thats why I bet it . IMO they want Zona money here and to further deter SD flow they make them favs. Truth is Haren was hot and lost this Zona team is reeling offensively .

Peavy lost a great battle vs Webb earlier at home 2-1 . As -125 chalk and now he is favored @ Zona ??

he has lost his last 3 starts since his DL return .

I think the extra days rest is a huge plus for him here .

If you look at him vs Zona since 2007 . 6 starts - 4 near unhittable ones and 2 basic BP ones.

The 4 unhittable -
28 inn 12 h 3 r 10bb 46ks 2hrs

SD 273 away vs LHSP.....

Zona 4-12 L16 vs RHSP ....44 runs scored 11 in one game and 6 twice recently.....

reaching for reasons to play SD but cant take the bait ...

HWG - played those you said but canceled out of Houston ...

Wow ! Yanks hold on 2-1 and STL comes back and wins 5-4.

I made a mistake playing STL 1st 5 inn over instead of game but STL comeback was golden ! Hit a 4teamer Yanks - under with STL over !! Plus StL ML , NYY ML , under 9.5 NYY , under 1st 5 NYY and RHE under 30 !

Good Luck I have aton of shit going and touched mostlly every game but Det -Sea....

Think that NYY game cashed almost all the bets on this board, and STL was good to CTG as well. Not that I have any control over my bets once I hit the trigger, but its always nice starting the day with a W...

Congrats on your bet...I'm against you on the ChiSox total and Pitt/Mil tonight, but with you on Baltimore...

Thanks SB ! Good Luck bro !

Pitt justs a feel bet something I cant backup . I did use poor judgement and play them yesterday not realizing Malholm was going here . McLouth returns as well. Think its a pitchers duel 3-2 or 4-3 type...1st 5 inning under for 2 units as well.....

ChiSox over I like alot ...more so 1st 5 innings . Floyd allowing a ton of Hrs and Greg Smith escaped wayto much the 1st meeting ......2 runners picked off I believe:shake:

Nut this is me talking as a fan of baseball and not really as a bettor, but Greg Smith, I believe, leads the league in both pick offs and steals against. Interesting dichotomy there.

Floyd is the kind of pitcher that I don't like seeing facing the A's. He's not going to walk them, and the A's aren't going to hit him hard because they don't really hit anybody hard. The other thing is that the A's are coming off 17 hits yesterday and they never come back with good offense on the 2nd day. Obviously its too late now for either of us to be convinced so I'll stop typing...but thats the thought here.
