In their last 14 home wins Washington is 13-1 ATS
Suns are 3-8 ATS last 11 b-b away

I might play Utah. They are operating on triple revenge. That said anytime you bet on a markedly inferior team against a legitimate strong one you need to think about it.
One example recently was Boston playing 5 in 7 at Utah and winning 110-107. Utah was playing their second game in 6 days.

Yeah, I'm warming up towards Wizards as well.
I really like Memphis today, but that triple revenge is what stopping me and probably will skip it.
But, Memphis are red hot and this is very big game for them. The difference between finishing 3rd and playing the Warriors and finishing 4th and playing Denver or LAC (not to mention finishing 5th and play one of them) is huge.
Memphis are the better team, in better form and need the game just as much as Utah.

But rest and revenge edges go to Utah, so still thinking about it.

Also thinking of possible Under on the Sixers. Teams met twice and Sixers didn't come close to going past their total. Pacers off a loss and lost it mainly on defense... Can easily see Sixers staying below 90 here.

Pacers: Hill sounds off on lack of fan support (full transcript)

There are times where coaches, players, front officials purposely say things when the media is in the area so that we’ll ask about it.

Pacers coach Frank Vogel did that last season in the playoffs when he blew his whistle during practice and pointed out that the Miami Heat like to flop on defense. Vogel could have pointed that out earlier in practice before the media was permitted in. Of course, that was the first thing we asked Vogel when he addressed the media after practice.

Former president Larry Bird walked by me in the hallway outside the Pacers locker room in Miami following their blowout loss to the Heat in Game 5 and mentioned about how bad his team was beaten as I was talking to Michael Wallace from ESPN.com. Bird and I spoke on the phone about two hours later where he gave me the great “S-O-F-T” quote.

Fast forward to Friday night. Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Pacers. Los Angeles Lakers. Lots of purple and gold in the stands.

As we interviewed David West following their bad loss to the Lakers, George Hill was a few feet away talking (pretty loud) to Roy Hibbert about the lack of Pacers fans in the building.
Scott Agness (or Young Fella as I call him) from Pacers.com and I asked Hill about all the (Lakers) fans in the building.

Hill didn’t back down what he was saying to Hibbert.

I’ve decided to post the full transcript of what Hill said.

Post your thoughts in the comment section.

“It sucks. It was 70 (Lakers fans) – 30 (Pacers fans) out there. These are the same people that wants autographs after the game. We’re out there in the community. We’re doing our job, doing what we’re supposed to do on and off the court. Something has to change. I tip my hat to this team. We’ve been trouble free. Been out in the community shaking hands, we’re winning. It shouldn’t feel like an away game, especially with an important like this. Tonight, that’s what it felt like.”

“They always say your fans are your sixth man and you feed off that energy. Energy is down and we turn the ball over and we’re hearing cheers. We’re missing shots and we’re hearing cheers. That kind of brings your head down cause you know you’re at home. It shouldn’t be like that. Now we see how it is. We have to move forward, don’t worry about. Stay focus on what’s in this locker room and don’t worry about the rest.”

“(We’re) not a team that’s in the bottom in the East. We’re one of the top three teams in the East. We’re winning the Central Division and it should show. Right now it’s not and it’s been all season long where it’s not showing and I don’t think there’s nothing else we can do as an organization and as players. Now it’s up to the community.”

Your thoughts?

I just find it funny that anyone thinks that Memphis is that great. Just look at who they have played over their past 16 games. A couple GOOD wins. That's all.

The fact that Memphis has won so many games recently makes it even a better idea to fade them

I was hoping to get Wash -5.5, but I'll probably end up playing the Wiz at -7. In addition to Tuck's numbers (which are pretty impressive), there's the more general fact that the Wizards have been a different team since Wall returned on Jan. 12, when Wash was just 5-28 SU. Since then, Wash is 17-14. Wash is 17-12 SU (20-9 ATS) when Wall and Nene both play, and at home Wash is 13-2 SU (12-3 ATS) with both Wall and Nene.

My big play is the Pacers.

Memphis ended up shooting 35.5% in that game facing a rather average Denver defense. Going into the 4th quarter they had a 8 point lead. This reminds me strongly of when they played at Spurs had a real lead in the 4th. Blew the game and went into a major tailspin. Essentially they are going into a place where they have a terrible record, coming down from Denver and I think they are in real trouble.

Currently have only one possible bet in mind and that is TT Over for the Wizards. Without Gortat Suns play really small ball and don't know the meaning of the word defense and prove it every single night since his injury.

Have a hard time believing Utah wants a playoff spot. The way this team is playing right now indicates something isn't right.

Lol you guys are in a rush to bet Utah who has lost 8 out of 10 including victories vs Charlotte and Detroit...

Not saying yr going to lose, anything possible but it's not a play to pound...

Utah is cold as ice... You guys trip me out with yr thoughts in this thread...

Not trying to be a Dick... But some of the stuff said in this thread is mind boggling.. Daily...

GL... Betting big money on cold teams is not smart..

GL... Betting big money on cold teams is not smart..

instead of saying that why don't you contribute to the thread or point out what is mind boggling.....

and who said anyone is pounding Utah?

It's Memphis or no play in my eyes, but I wouldn't bet against a team that lost twice already to the same team.
It's hard to bet on Utah to lose twice at home to the same team...

I'll be on Philly plus the points. Team is playing a lot better offensively with young back in the lineup and Indy is up and down.

Memphis hasn't played b2b home games since the Allstar break. That's a lot of traveling the last 14 games, culminating in a West Coast/mountain 4-in-5.

Running out of time but looking at the Portland total. last 10 home games 9-1 over. Last 4 home Saturday games all over.
Detroit has lost 7 in a row. They had beaten Portland twice at home but the series has been dominated by Portland and it is Portlands last home game before a tough trip. Last chance for Detroit to win a game on this trip.. Probably betting this over.
Total was 199. Bet it over. Think its a loser because this number should be much higher.

Indy is up and down, and they are always UP off a loss. They're 12-2 ATS off a loss since they made it to .500 in December, with one of those ATS losses as a dog in OT. Of those 14 games following a loss they lost two in OT (one non-cover as a dog at Utah, one non-cover as a favorite), they lost 102-101 at Denver (covered), beat Memphis by 5 (covered), and won 10 games by double digits (all covers).

The one ATS loss in regulation was against the Nets the day after SA beat the Nets by 25, and the Nets had the missing star effect in play, as Williams was scratched to let him regain his health. An atypical scenario, and otherwise the Pacers have killed it off a loss.

Jazz

The Jazz have been in free-fall mode recently, going just 2-10 SU in their last twelve games, while the Grizzlies have been one of the hottest teams. However, the Jazz have been on the road a lot and have been struggling with a lot of injuries (last Friday was the first time the Jazz had been at full strength since December). They had two days off now, and will face a Grizzlies team that is playing their fourth game in five days, with no rest off a tough battle at altitude, playing in another high altitude gym. They were outscored by 15 points in the fourth quarter last night, allowing the Nuggets to mount a big comeback. Since the 2006 season, teams that were leading by 5 or more points going into the fourth quarter of their previous game are 20-60 SU (-7.6 ppg) and 30-49-1 ATS when they lost the game and they are playing on the road with no rest. The Grizzlies scored only 33 points in the second half, including starting the fourth quarter going 1-10 from the field. Players from both teams said after the game that it was a tough mental battle to stay in the game. The Grizzlies have had an impressive run recently, but after beating the Blazers and Clippers on the road, then losing to the Nuggets last night, their steam is running out.

The Grizzlies rely heavily on their starters and frontcourt for offensive production. Statistically, they have the fifth worst bench in the league as far as total points scored, and when teams get tired, they really need bench production. Although Randolph has looked great in the last few games, he is returning off an ankle injury, and every once in a while he steps around very tenderly as if it is still bothering him. The game tonight is a battle of frontcourts. Utah has the third best frontcourt in the league, and Memphis has the eighth best (based on the difference between offensive and defensive efficiency). If Utah’s bigs can have a good game, I think Utah should be able to come out with a sound victory.

Memphis is clearly the better team here, but Utah needs a win, badly. Memphis has been super hot, going 14-2 in their last sixteen, including a lot of road wins, but only three of their victories have been against teams with a winning record. While I am not sure that Utah falls in the class of “winning” right now, I think they will come out with a big win tonight. The Jazz are 20-6 SU at home this season, and they should be able to use their home court advantage tonight against a physically and mentally tired Grizzlies squad.

"We understand where the standings are at,'' said guard Mike Conley. "But we still have 20 games left and anything can happen from there.'' Sounds good Mike, take a night off tonight - no problem.

Jazz -2 x2

The lead ref on the Indy-Philly game is a bit of a home cooler, but this guy may have a little help for Philly:

Haywoode Workman (home teams 26-16 ATS, Philly last ten 10-0 ATS)

That said, George Hill was pissed after the game last night, and I'm not betting against Indy in this spot. They are 2-0 (+20.5 ppg) this season after a home loss as a favorite playing as a road favorite, and 9-1 SU (+8.1) and 7-2 ATS playing on no rest against teams with a losing record. 10-2 SU and 9-2 ATS as a road favorite this season.

But mainly, George Hill was pissed.

Good luck...

Pacers suck vs PGs.

TV: NBA TV

The Utah Jazz are finally making a change to their starting lineup that fans have been waiting for the last couple of months. Gordon Hayward will start at small forward, joining Mo Williams, Randy Foye, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson on the court to start the game. Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin said the move was made for mostly offensive reasons. He said one factor in his decision was how well Memphis defends the strong side, so Utah will need to get the ball to the weak side and attack from there. “He’ll give us some ball handling with the first group,” Corbin said of Hayward. “We look forward to trying to get the pace up a little bit, see if we can get some easy baskets with the first group.
Corbin admitted that the way his team has played recently also played a factor in putting Hayward in the starting lineup. The Jazz have lost eight of their last 10 games and trail the Los Angeles Lakers by one game for eighth place in the Western Conference. Hayward began the season as a starter and started 10 games. He’s mostly been used as the team’s sixth man and main guy on its second group. “We need to try and pick it up as much as we can,” Corbin said. “This is the time to do it to give us the best chance to finish as strong as we can.”
Memphis, coming off an 87-80 loss at Denver on Friday night, isn’t a team to try and get well against. The Grizzlies are tied for the league’s second-best road record at 19-12. They’ve already matched their franchise record for most road victories in a season. “It takes a lot of mental toughness,” Memphis coach Lionel Hollins said of being successful on the road. “It takes a lot of focus and doing what you’re supposed to offensively and defensively.”
Hollins said be expects to be without reserve guard Tony Wroten, who is suffering from migraines, tonight. Jerryd Bayless will be relied on more in his absence.

Guard Brandon Knight, who scored 26 points in Detroit’s 108-101 win over Portland on Nov. 26, will miss his second straight game with a sprained ankle. “We’ll keep our fingers crossed about Monday [against Brooklyn],” said Brian Hill, acting as coach in the absence of Lawrence Frank, who is tending to his ill wife. Jose Calderon will start in place of Knight, who held Portland rookie Damian Lillard to 12 points on 4-for-18 shooting in the teams’ first meeting. “Brandon had an outstanding game against Damian last time,” Hill said. “I’m sure Damian is will be ready to respond tonight. It’s an opportunity for Jose to step in and do the same thing.”
Detroit’s starting small forward, rookie Kyle Singler, will be making his first pro appearance in his home state. Singler prepped at South Medford High. “He has done a great job,” Hill said. “We’re pleasantly surprised. Kyle very seldom makes mistakes in terms of understanding the game plan or trying to do too many things on the floor. He is technically a very solid player, does all the right things at the right times, and he knocks down his open shots. He has exceeded expectations.”
This is Portland’s final game before a five-game road trip that begins Monday at Philadelphia. “This trip coming up is difficult,” Portland coach Terry Stotts said. “We’re still in the mix for the playoffs. We have to get a win tonight to get us a little momentum going into the trip.”
Rookie forward Victor Claver (ankle) will miss his fourth straight game and will not accompany the Blazers on the upcoming trip.

Lol jazz were life and death to win that game... Barely covered by one possession..

Basically a coin flip result...
