NBA Schedule Release...

Looks like it is back to normal time this year...it was August 13th last year if I remember right...

NBA SCHEDULE RELEASE DATE: updated July 31st, 2016 at 11:45 AM EST
Typically, the NBA schedule is released late July. Often times, the schedule is delayed until early August so that TV networks and the league office can project out and intelligently schedule games at critical times like opening night, Christmas Day, MLK Jr. Day, mid-April etc. It wasn't until July 26th last year that Commissioner Silver publicly explained that this unusually long delay is directly related to the extraordinarily impactful offseason moves. Seeing that there is no financial implications for the NBA's schedule release date, it makes no sense to rush the process. And given the even more profound & league altering free agency period of 2016, we expect the release to come Thursday, August 4th, 2016.

One more day. On Christmas day let's see if they have the Dubs and Cavs face off. TNT games will have a ton of dubs I bet. Bulls/Knicks games will probably get some prime time with their new looks and former players facing their old teams.

The National Basketball Association reportedly will release the 2016-17 regular-season schedule on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. ET, per Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News.

For the second season in a row, teams will play fewer stretches of four games in five nights and back-to-back games than ever before. Four-in-fives have been cut to 0.7 per team (20 total), a 71 percent reduction from 2.3 per team (70 total) in 2014-15 and a 26 percent reduction from 0.9 per team (27 total) last season. Back-to-backs have been cut to 16.3 per team, a 16 percent reduction from 19.3 per team in 2014-15 and an 8 percent reduction from 17.8 per team last season.

Too tired tonight to go through all...but I found one already...

Better product on the court is the objective. Curious to know if there were less injuries this past season than seasons past.

I've spotted 3 scheduling stretches that should be tough for the teams involved. Note that the dates for these games in the screen shots I've taken reflect the nba's NZ site, so are a day ahead of US time.

#1: Suckramento Clowns...

View attachment 41245

From late November to early Jan. these clowns play 20 straight games at a different venue, with 14 of the first 19 on the road.

They get two games @Utah as the second of b2b games, and in both situations they double as the 2nd game back off road trips (one 6 games in length, the other 3 games in length). As per my post-road trip stat thread, over the last 5 seasons Suckramento boasts the worst ATS record in 2nd games off 4+ road trips (a mighty ugly 4-14 ATS). Adding everything up, as long as Utah doesn't have the wheels falling off their own bus at the time & somehow the clowns haven't unearthed the second coming of MJ, it's almost unimaginable that Utah doesn't win ATS at least 1 of those 2 b2b games. Looking at the wider picture, it's hard to see the Clowns not losing 3-4 of their final 7 road games ATS from that stretch.

#2 - Golden State...

This looks to be a difficult stretch overall, but the tough start should result in some wear & tear by the time the games highlighted in blue roll around. 2 b2bs thrown in there as well as a 5-in-7.

#3 - LA Fakers...

View attachment 41247

OK, Lakers get some rest amidst these fixtures (the green belts) but otherwise the opponents seem consistently strong and the b2bs look tough. Hard to believe this team won't end up mailing 2-3 of those 9 roadies.

not sure why your dates are messed up BC... the kings play the jazz on december 10th and 21st

there are only a handful of super situation plays.... december 10th is going to be a big play for me

The schedule was released at 6:00 p.m. ET on August 11, 2016. The regular season concludes on April 12 and the 2017 NBA playoffs will begin April 15.

Silver slowly killing 'the situation'.

yes and no/ there will be less occurences ;but on the other side teams will have less 2 and 3 days rest and more 1 day rest. so teams won't have a real "break" and should play a lot of games in a row on 1 day rest before playing a B2B in average. it will "reinforce" the situation when it occurs , because teams will be more tired before playing a B2B game

at the end of the day there won't be less injuries because teams will have to play 82 games in same period of time than previous seasons.
