Initial thoughts -

Colorado with Jimenez
Philly with Hamels if Manny is out only
LAA and Under . Seriously who schedules this shit ? Week in SFG and SD then home for a week now back out West ? Of a DH ? Mets will make HUGE strides with Nixon playing a corner OF spot and then pen will come together if Heilman is used as the setup guy. Somehow his recent lights out pitching has gone unnoticed .
Under 9 @ Seattle. Silva getting his act together , Mariners not hitting a lick and not fond of Fla lineup despite its production.
Tigers ML . Battle of power arms but SFG isnt hitting much at home . Lincecum fall sprey to his pitch counts . Probable Under

1st glimpse

As much as SEA may look like a great fade realize that Florida had to fly from TB to Seattle while the Mariners were at home. Thats about as tough as it gets IMO and would expect a hangover from FLA adjusting to the time zone.

Colon in the bandbox, and Philly on a 2 game slide? Def. looking at Over.
Boston hasn't done badly on the road vs lefties - 5, 5, 6, 9 & 0 (vs Bedard during a 1-5 SU skid - not playing that badly here).

i like colorado w/ a solid pitcher and a team that is playing to their potential lately. jurrjens was dominant to start the year but seems to be regressing and he is coming off an injury, so maybe rusty.
i will definately play philly. boston hasn't seen the ol' hamels changeup eh? good luck with that the way he is pitching lately. boston depleted and philly first game home after roadstand. not to mention public is pounding boston for some fucking reason i dont know.
i get a sneaky feeling mets are going to win tomorrow, but im not betting it. maybe an under because both pitchers are capable of dominating but both are insanely inconsistent. ill stay away.
not sure of the other two but public is hitting the road teams early. ill let better judges decide these, but i found it interesting that verlander is only receiving an avg .4 runs of support in his starts on the road this year. i don't think it will get much better when they face the young stud lincecum. we all know san fran cannot score for shit so have to like the under. might play it. verlander pitched VERY well his last start. detroit is on fire winning 8 str8 i believe? im sure as hell not going to fade that, but im not going to be in line to take detroit as a road fav against lincecum, thats fucking crazy.

Philly ML (Hamels) listed
Mets/Angels Under
San Fran/Detroit Under

Phillies had a weird roadtrip. Lots of close games didn't go their way in Miami and St.Louis. With Cole on the mound, they probably put a 11-2 beatdown on Boston tommorow.

I lean Colorado as Jurrjens has regressed some, but I hate putting money on the Rockies.

Marlins seem to easy, and I think you have to play the Giants with Lincecum on the mound and the Tigers going west.

I just think that the Phillies' lineup is going to smack Colon. Boston is gonna have to score +6 or more runs on Hamels to win, IMO. I don't think they will score more than 4 on Cole.

I know Lincecum has been lights out, but isn't it weird they're the favorite against a formidable lineup and an emerging Verlander. Not to mention the Giants lineup just sucks. I think they're hitting Bengie Molina 4th or 5th that's ridiculous. I will also take Detroit ML.

Jurrjens has regressed. Could COL get to him? I think they could, so a bet on the Rockies would be positively correlated to an over bet.

I'm split on Fla/Seattle. I can make a case for both teams today, so I will pass.

Philly trying to get back into the groove. Hamels should give the Phils a win over a depleted and traveling Boston line-up.

the way that the angels have been playing, if you see a half decent performance from jer weaver, this game goes under. Last night, their only 2 runs came from a kotchman HR with one of FEW men that happened to be on base. That game could've easily been 1-0 or 0-1. Definitely lean under pending umpire. But the fact is simple. Angels arent hitting but are still winnings the low scoring games. Bullpen is rested for today after sauders pitched 8, then shields and f-rod finished it up last night.

Pre-ump leans:
COL U
PHI U
LAA U (Pelfrey hurts this lean tho)
SEA O
SF U-- probably the favorite of the bunch

also like the RSox and the Angels MLs

A lot leads me towards the Rocks here...recent performances, ATL on the road, Ubaldo at home.

I agree that Jarjar has regressed, walking a lot of guys, giving up a lot of hits, and not K'ing as many. FLA just got their 2nd look at him and hit him around pretty good, I would imagine Colorado should do the same given they kicked him around pretty well their first go at it. JJ's away ERA is pushing 5 now and Ubaldo is floating around 3 on his home ERA, a trend that carries over from last year. Ubaldo also has a .232 BAA at home, around 60 pts higher than his road BAA. A lot of this has to do with 2 dominating performances against SF, but he carried a .232 BAA last year at home through the whole season.

Colorado without Tulo and Torrealba, a pair that was not that successful against Jarjar in the first game(1-7 combined). Atl without Kotsay and Diaz, the only 2 Atl players that have homered against Ubaldo in 40 ABs and who had combined for 3 of 7 lifetime.

I'd like to get into the trends a bit, but I don't feel like ATL can win on the road without great pitching. They have a depleted bullpen and a starter who is not pitching that well and has hit some bumps on the road...

Lugo is the only one on the sox that has faced hamels... although he was 2/3 with 2 HRs, I don't see this as a spot where boston bats will go crazy.

Colon started against shitty teams as well, including, seattle, baltimore, and KC. Yes, they arguably have the worst offenses in the league. This is a spot where colon can easily give up 4-6 before getting the pull. The great part is that he is perceived as a decent pitcher because of those shitty teams he beat up on. Phils should beat him down.

Winters a homer?
Home faves of -160 or less 6-5 in 2008
Home faves of -160 or less 11-12 in 2007
Home faves of -160 or less 8-8 in 2006

Winters is as neutral as they come....

Too much value on Boston for me.. I'll bite at +155. Also like UNDER 9. Colon isn't as bad as people are suggesting.

i didnt factor in any lines, sc. And yeah, colon is not terrible, but against this lineup, he can be made to look very bad. I see your point in value, as boston is one of the best interleague teams, but i just think phili would win this matchup more often then the odds suggest.

Alright I am all posted already spent alot of time in General Discussion today in the Anxiety thread.

Hamels is very good at night , at home and on normal rest . All 3 apply here . The major flaw with him is the fact LHB do have a chance to hit him. This year 3 Hrs allowed to LH and the BAA although low around 200 is basically the same as vs RHB. Last year about 250ish vs LH but only 2 Hrs . Still he is not lights out vs LHB which seeing that Boston has some good LHB in Drew , Ellsbury and the now hot Coco Crisp this could be a tough matchup. Although he has been excellent last two and excellent in 4 of 6 starts .

Interested to see how he handles the IL starts . he made 4 so far and two were good vs NYY and WSox who have history of issues vs LHP and hit hard vs Cle and Balt I believe was the other . So this week he gets Boston who is 10-2 vs LHP and LAA who I think is like 11-2.

Colon hasnt faced much yet seeing KC , Sea and Balt twice . These teams haves some quality LHB who have faired well against him. 16 hits 7 bbs 286 compared to 254 15 hits and NO walks .

Philly isnt hitting much and really minus Homer Bailey and some Cincy pen they didny hit much either .

Granted the Phills played 10 straight away but Dobbs at 4-11 is there best LH at the moment , Howard and rollins 6-25 past 7 days though Howard 2 Hrs 9 rbi , Jenkins 2-17 and Utley 5-22 .

Both teams getting good pitching with SP doing well on the surface . Philly allows 3.7 runs at night and 3.9 at home while Sox allow 4.5 away but 4.2 at night . Boston 255 L7 games . Boston allowing 2.7 runs when opposing LHSP in 12 games . Away Boston allowed 4 , 3 , 1 , 2 and 0 in that order when they opposed a LHSP.

Last 12 games Boston allowed more then 4 runs just twice . Last 13 Philly scored 4 or less in 7 games , 5 two times and 6 3times plus that 20 spot the other day.

So leaning Philly ML but see some value in Boston just not crazy about the situation . Philly lost a tough game yesterday does well in series openers and while Boston is 14-10 in openers they are only 5-8 off a win. Thinking under or 1st 5 inn under ...nothing strong though...

Seattle ML 2 or 3 units

Silva has 1 bad start at home vs Det and one bad inning at home vs LAA in the following start where he allowed 4 1st runnings but settled down and went 8 innings allowing 5runs. Not great but good enough to give your team a chance to win.

Florida after starting 11-5 away is now 4-11 L15 away . Nolasco has actually won 3 of those and Hendrickson beat Glavine when ATL pen imploded .

Silva faced Fla last year @ Fla and did well winning 11-1 lasting 7 innings His last 2 starts minus the 1st inning of LAA were very solid. Sea has not won since 4-15 allowing more then 3 rund are 15-8-1 UNDER in 24 wins.

His problem is DET AND NYY as they pasted him. Exculde them-
5 home starts 36 inn 36 h 15 runs / earned 3.75 ERA
5 away starts 34.1 inn 34 h 12 runs/earned 3.15ERA

Home vs Det 0.2 inn 7h 7runs / earned
Away in 3 starts(det and NYY twice) 13 inn 31 hits 22runs / 20 earned

Silva is able to go deep into games which hopefully bridges the gap to Morrow . Before yesterday FLA had scored 4 runs in 3 games Uggla is 1-23 slide. Fla pen is struggling as well.

Last Silva was real good on extended rest:

Both Silva starts vs DET came on 6 days so exclude those as he has 3 solid starts . 20 inn 22h and 7 runs .....

Torn on the total because of bullpens but Miller has improved . Maybe st 5 under ? The trends say fro SEA to win it must go under but expected 9.5 here .

Fla 3-13 L16 Mondays had a LONG ass flight from TB to Seattle andhopefuly that SEA can extend its run vs NL LHSP as its 6-1 L7.

Miller has a history of issues on normal rest 10+ ERA in 3 '07 starts and
until Philly this past time his only one other real qualit start on normal rest at home vS SD one of the weakest teams vs LHP in 2008.

Col ML- Fan of Jiminez . 248 BAA on normal rest we know much better at home often delivering a high quality outing . COl playing well of late and ATL still just 9 road wins and get Jimenez cheaper now then in April vs Jurrjens who has struggled:cheers:be back later

Alright I'm getting there, as long as Philly keeps smacking this bum. I hope Pelfrey and Weaver duel it out and keep it low, and hope Detroit doesn't smack Lincecum (I think they will hit him very well tonight), because my dumbass played the under and Detroit ML.

Bang! Colon's fastball is FLAT, Howard is smacking his shit. That post with the teams Colon previously started against, is a gift.

I really don't want to play Seattle, they have been letting me down every time I find a spot for them. Their offense is terrible, though they do hit lefties pretty well. I'm a believer in Silva, when the situation is right, but may play the under and a small under/SEA parlay. I don't like counting on those SEA A-holes to score runs.

Have a RL/ML play on COL, pulled the trigger on a small 1st 5 parlay with COl and the over.

Would not count on days of the week regarding Seattle. This season Seattle is 3-2 at home on Monday and Florida is 3-2 away on Monday.
