Pirates win 1-0, thanks to the #9 hitter Jack Suwinski outdueling the Dodgers #9 hitter Chris Taylor. Suwinski was able to pull one over the Clemente wall that traveled 390 feet to score the only run. Taylor, who's now hitting an atrocious .103 (yikes), jacked one measured at over 400 feet to the notch in left center that was caught at the warning track. For the game the Dodgers hit FOUR balls farther than Suwinski's homer, but they all stayed in the park and were outs. Goes to show where you hit it is just as important as how well you hit it.
Shohei looked like he was swinging to reach the river his first 3 at bats, all against Jones. Then when Chapman came in, he shortened his stroke laced one up the middle for a single to start the 8th, but was stranded on 3rd.
Skenes up tonight in what should be one of the largest mid-week crowds the Bucs get all year. Pittsburgh's small Asian community was out in force to see Shohei. Shohei v Skenes will be a must watch.
