Have to like the Reds a lot. Brewers were dying in an iron lung before Thursday. Torres cut the power.

Texas, Texas RL and Texas hova...basically a fade of Garland and a team that seems to have a little "coast" mentality to them lately, and Texas has had at least one over in every home series this year (save the first home series of the season vs Balt).

Why not....

I disagree about MIL being dead in the water, if only for one reason. They know the Cubs have yet to play 4 games against the Mets, and since the Mutts themselves have a shite bullpen, its hardly unfair for the Brewers to think the Cubs can win 3 of those 4 games. The Mutts must also go to Atlanta (who recently handed the Mutts asses to them in New York) for 3 games before that Cubs series. Milwaukee's biggest rival for the WC has hardly got things wrapped up at their end, and the Brewers ought to know it = no lack of current motivation.

On the other side of the coin, Cincinnati has covered 9 of 10 games on the runline. For the crap team they are, that screams reaching the saturation point of an elongated performance arc (fact is they should have beaten Saint Louis today, simply blew it, which suggests the coming termination of that peformance arc).

I wouldnt be shocked to see Milk obliterate the Reds, given their last 2 performances against the Cubs hardly resembled the host of limp efforts that preceded them.

O's comin off an UNDER headin to NY.. new york bats came alive last night.. with pitchers goin tomorrow might be worth a look at over 10.5.. friday night.. wildness

Anybody know the if Jason Bay will be playing for the Red Sox? After missing the last 2 games, and having a day off today, I would think he plays but just need confirmation.

Personally the Brewers have never impressed me . I just dont think they are a playoff team . They have 2 monster bats in Braun and Prince who when on can carry them almost singlehanded. The rest of the lineup who cares ? They get some prodcution from Hardy and Hart at times really thats it. They have 2 stud SPs in CC and Sheets and what ? Some guys who are service able with Bush probably being the best of the rest ...bullpen we know that deal whether its Torres or Gagne struggling both have blown up many a time..

Now Sheets hurt , there manager fired , morale has to be low . They need a spark to turn it around and until I see it not really interested in backing them

Reds are a solid team now that they are healthy . They missed Hairston for along while and are well above 500 with him in the lineup(think about 30-21) , Votto missed some time after the Dunn and Jr trades went down really thining out the lineup . Phillips absences hurt but he was mirred in a slump. I think the reds are a decent little team minus star power ...

Usually look to fade pitchers off nohitters but BigZ looks interesting. He owned STL forever and got blasted vs them last outing as in career lows . Now his confidence is high and I knew that before the NoNo because he was raving about his bullpen session . STL is dead in the water barely snuck by Reds today after dropping 7 straight . At least early Cubs should have some momentum although they did not deserve to win that game (had CUBS parlayed with KC so aint complaining but ..) Cards are banged up and the pen is back to untrustworthy status....tough sell for me on STL even with Wainright who was smashed after his 110 pitch outing @ Pitt last start and Cubbies smoked him the 1st 3 times they faced before he put 2 solid starts together vs them , one earlier in 2008........

The plan was he would return on Friday but not 100% thats whats gonna happen...

On another note I might have to play Tor regardless though past 2 days they were iffy . Paul Byrd has pitched vs them a billion times past 6 weeks. Okay 5th time since August 9th and fourth as a red Sox ...he does do well @ Tor though ......

Think -145 or cheaper might present some value on Jays ...the Sox havent solved AJ really but one issue is the pen as Ryan almost blew the game tonight and is always shaky IMO..

How is anyone interested in Houston as road chalk ? They cant hit .....

Peavy has been terrible as road chalk

Buerhle has struggled vs KC who is now 8-2 L10 vs LHSP maybe an under as well

Over 9 TB ..make up for all those unders in 08 ..2 taxed pens and medicore SP

What's everyone's thoughts on the early Cubs game? I think there's definitly some value in taking the Cardinals. Wainwright has been throwing well lately, don't think I've bet against Zambrano all year, and I'm not sure this is the spot to start. But the value is there I think.

I want to play St Louis too - I always play against a pitcher in the first start after a no-no - just thought the number would be higher.....Harden was -235 - Zambrano has been bet down to -157.......Makes no sense why he isnt higher....

Yeah I see that line movement too. If it hits -150 I'm gonna find it hard not to put something on the Cubs. 2 games to clinch, Ace on the mound, now I'm all confused.

For me interested in Cubs . STL is in real decline they needed Cincy to shoot themselves in the foot about 10 times yesterday to win . Wainright was smoked after throwing 100 pitches in his previous start. His past 2 vs CHI were solid but the previous 3 were pretty rough .

I have been fading SP off no hitters for a decade but its rare that a guy throws oen on the road . In this case a neutral park in Miller Field so I dont expect a huge decline for that reason. Zambrano was shelled his last outing vs STL after years of owning them which makes me think since it was a career worst outing he will be a little geeked today to faced STL again.

Cubs could be a tad thin in the pen with Wood throwing 2 innings yesterday ...like that CHI is 21-10 in Game1s after wins...

STL just 2-10 L12 away and that included yesterday and Wainright beating Petit ..scoring 3 or less in 7 of 10 and actually2or less runs in 6 of 10 losses.

Really think "dog" hunting has be limited the rest of the way .....

kansas city hits left handers with ferocious anger at home .

then got tagged early like the fat kid during games at recess and had to sit on the sideline eating a moonpie in the other one.......

:seeya:

chisox lineup looks like the caca coming from the butt of that chick in the
2 girls 1 cup video....manager anger sat down everybody and quit early

I agree with you SN, Brewers relief pitching has been suspect all & lately the offense has struggled when it really counts. If thats not enough they fire the manager with 12 games to play, not a good situation imo.

SN/Tuck/BC - Interested in any thoughts you guys may have on Mets/Atl tonight.Atl is 6-0 at home vs. Mets this year, and 9-6 overall. Lean Mets here against Reyes as Mets have good success vs. LH's this year overall, but their bullpen scares me to death. Maybe 1st 5 Mets.

Been playing gold calls and gold stock all day have had no time to even look at baseball will try to analyze in a little while but its like coming off a Major rush. really hard to think baseball right now.

Last 5 pitchers who threw a no hitter won their next game and those games were high scoring.

9/14/08 Carlos Zambrano went 1.2 innings with 8 earned runs!!!:36_11_6:

5/19/08 John Lester won next game 5/25 6-3 at Oakland
9/1/07 Clay Buchholz won next game 9/06/07 7-6 at Baltimore
6/12/07 Justin Verlander won next game 6/17/07 7-4 at Philly
4/18/07 Mark Buehrle won next game 4/23/07 7-4 at KC
9/6/06 Anibal Sanchez won next 9/11/06 game 16-5 vs Mets
5/18/04 Randy Johnson won next game 5/23/04 4-3 at Florida

Big Wave,

With the score now 12-2 in favor of StL in the 6th inning, I think we can safely say "The Tide Has Turned" on your stats for winning, but the high scores worked again!

Glaus was out of the line up when the offense disappeared, he is back becareful.

Thanks bro. Hopefully my comments didnt sway anyone . I never got a chance to look closely at the game and just totally missed it . As well as being obviously way off and mistaken on that one...nice to miss out on a loser for once...

Mets lost 2 huge bats recently vs LHSP Fernando Tatis and Damon Easley . Huge is an understatement when you see a lineup full of LH hitters and SW hitters .

I worry about something silly in that ATL went 0-9 vs Philly at home this year and right up on deck they host a team who they are 6-0 against . Always thinking in the back of my mind things have ways of evening out and what an odd but under the radar way this would be for ATL to sort of make up for the 0-9 mark vs Philly and probably determine 1st place by possibly going 9-0 vs NYM...

Especially in Easley's case with Argenis Reyes playing instead your looking at someone who is 4-23 1rbi and 5ks against no walks . A basic black hole and another automatic out in the lineup. Easley and Tatis were just solid and consistent contributors and really played a huge role in the Mets resurgance more then Randolphs firing . They were struggling badly at the corner spot and 2nd base on offense for a long stretch.

I think ATL has faced now 7 straight LHSP and has not done much against any of them except Jamie Moyer who is in a class by himslef throwing 84 MPH . Oliver Perez just ahd a solid outing his last time out vs ATL and a very good track record vs ATL allowing 3 or less in 8 starts of his past 10 vs them. Reyes is a mystery having lost 9 straight and 13 of 16 which he started . he was roughed up in game 2 vs NY this weekend and quickly pulled like Cox always does . Interested in the fact he had B2B starts vs WASH before this and after a bad outing came back with a real solid effort . COuld that happen again . Seems likely looking at how NYM struggled vs LHSP Odalis Perez and John Lannan at Wash . Martis was the perfect matchup vs NY because if you look @ his minor league stats very obvious he was fine vs RHBs and really struggled vs LHB( Jim Parr same thing for ATL actually why I faded Martis in there ML debuts as ATL had more LHBs then WASH that game) .

One thing that clearly stands out and almost everyone will overlook is that 9/10 but Easley and Tatis were in the lineup . tatis went 3 for 3 2 rbis and Easley 1 for 3 1 rbi. They had faced 3 consecutive LHSP Hamels , Lannan and Odalis Pere hitting all very had scoring 30 runs in 3 games . They then faced Hampton , Reyes , Lanna dn Odalis scoring 9 runs in 4 games with 5 coming in Reyes start which he allowed 4 of them in 2 innings .. So very CLEAR DECLINE vs LHP ...as Easley has been absent since 9/13 and Tatis was the only contributor in the few games he played before the shoulder injury......

So we have 2 teams not hitting LHSP and shaky pens to follow .....Have to say I like Under 10 here but also under 1st 5 innings ......and would not take the Mets with road chalk here because they are 0-6 in ATL and always struggled there plus missing the 2 crucial hitters in the middle of the order ...lots of LHBs Scheinder , Delgado , Church ...

Pretty obvious with reyes downfalls are :

Not sure what everyone else thinks but feel those 2 games @ Wash vs Lannan and Odalis Perez 2 guys they smoked a week earlier seem telling ....?

SN - Thanks for your thoughts on the Mets game. I decided that under for the 1st 5 looks pretty good and will hope Reyes doesn't implode right from the start and we also see the good Perez who won't walk a bunch of Braves tonight.

GL I hope the line movement is indicative of a good play for us. I was happy to get 5.5u25 for 1st 5 considering the game total has dropped to 9.5

Faded Wolf and Houston . Just had to . he basically has allowed at least 4 runs in all his recent road starts except Wrigley where CUbs hit him hard next time out . Which Pitt is sort of in the same spot after he was solid vs them about 2 weeks ago. Also Pitt was swept by Houston in 4 and lost a tough one to end LAD series. Is houston reeling from Ike ? 5 games and 5 runs ?

Wolf vs Pitt misleading only 3 career starts @ PNC and his typical road stats ...not good...plus normal rest hasnt been a friend to him.......

Real cool here in NYC ...Like October air ...

SportsNut - Any thoughts on the White Sox/Royals line and total?

Thanks for any input!

I sucked in bases today . You didnt want my opinion ...

Sorry TimH....everything just seems to be very cut and dry lately. Just basic opinion seems to be the way to go rather then any sort of research angles...

Looks like I am gonna try SF +1.5 and UND 8.5 or Und 4.5..:cheers:BOL

On the Giants ML....Zito has made a killing as a +200 dog this year on the road (@ COL +226, @ SD +216, @ ATL +210, @ AZ +185)

SN - That's the way it goes sometimes unfortunately. I ended up playing that Met 1st 5 under because I agreed Atl wasn't good vs. lefties but I was worried about Reyes. The line movement towards the under was some of the biggest I have seen for a while and I thought I had a good value line at 5.5. Shit happens unfortunately. I laid off the Mets and the Det over because of Cuzzi and the wind blowing in and I'm sick about missing those plays. GL Saturday. Time to focus on some football.
