Now I get Perez versus the Ranger's hit parade +35

not much history here Perez lost at Texas in 2004 9-7

texas is only 7-13 versus lefties while mets are only 17-25 versus righties

mets 93-90 in interleague
rangers 95-102 interleague

interleague that time of year huh... i recommend that people limit their plays... shit can get ugly.

Not sure about this but 1st time around this season seemed to be alot of value in the away teams +1.5 RL. If I can I will check it but something that stuck out especially when AL teams went to NL parks.

Also everyone here @ CTG is well aware of how well home teams have done on SUNDAYS but with everything you must under WHY ? The WHY is because Game 1 and 2 or Friday and Sat urday have been heavy AWAY team days especially Friday if I recall. So as long as that holds up look for the Sunday trend to hold up .

Also I mentioned Yanks @ Oak right now they fly to Houston afterwards . Singleton last night on YES said the Yanks are expected to get into HOUSTON at 6AM. I assume he meant the hotel but does it really matter ?

Just a heads up to keep in mind when looking at that matchup.....

I need a break been at this all day

quick question guys, in interleague play, does the pitcher bat? or is it whoever is hosting the game (ie AL stadium- DH bats, NL stadium- pitcher bats?

ironic that the biggest AL win within a season was the AL's biggest margin loss (1-4) in recent WS to the NL

BC,

you amaze me each and every day with some of this info... i just wish we could be stalking already because I need some UNDER umps so i can pick up some pitchers for my fantasy team, but it's gotta be a day in advance

Leaning strongly to the Dodgers +120. Lowe is from Detroit and his numbers are good against Detroit. I also think from a psychological standpoint that the Tigers are due for a letdown after sweeping Chicago. Detroit is just 19-32 against RHP.

I also will take a look at a Brewers RL play. The Twins are going in the wrong direction and Milwaukee is starting to get it together. Bush has been pitching better as of late.

FRIDAY the 13TH

Aggravating Thursday as again everything that could go wrong did (AGAIN!). Missed 4 or 5 plays that naturally all cashed , dont they always ? Had to watch the Braves blew a lead again in the 9th , had to watch the Mets blow a lead again which killed my under 7 , had to watch the WSox lose on a walkoff HR , and cockteased by Colorado. I also overthought a handful of plays like switched from Boston ML to Balt +1.5 RL , switched off SFG to Colorado , passed on Philly cause I thought it was pricey . Forced a few prop bets and made a few sloppy forced plays that were minor but they still count . Worst off I had to watch LAL blow the game and the Boston ML cash as I said it would be either or and it was !!! Even had teh quarters correct for the most part. . Did some beautiful things throughout the day but simply couldnt lock in ...real pissed to be above .500 and down 9 units ....didnt seem to maximize some early reads .....Okay thats my vent to make peace with it .....

TOR ML :
Well lets go back to the theme of Cubs have struggled to hit and score vs RHS on the road @ .245. Burnett when right is especially tough on RHB and facing Gallagher with a worn out pen after a xtrainning affair should further Tor edge . Jays had the day off to recoop from the M's series which they lost two 1 run game late. Lean UNDER. Looks like a series TOR could win with Burnett , Halladay and Litsch . The concern is Burnett struggling at home and off a terrible outing which he has been great at bouncing back after allowing 5 or more runs in recent seasons.

Orioles ML:
Pitt playing well and Orioles not winning vs LHSP for awhile now. However seemslike Pitts pen is overworked some and Balt 15-7 in series openers while Pitt is the reverse. Dumtrait tends to have control issues which means he wont lost deep and as I said Pitts pen is thin now it seems. Dumtrait outsid of CIncy his former organization has been so-so on the road. Burress had 3 straight tough starts but a week off could help. Thinking Over . Doutmit has been there offense and you wonder if he gets a break. (Pitt 15-40 L55 interelague games away)

Would need to see the LAD-Det lineup but with Lowe dealing last 4 starts 6 runs in 28 innings I think LAD could have an edge. Galarraga has been solid but some struggles at home but more concerned with the avg start being 6 innings since DET pen is a question. Thing is LAD lineup was embarrassing .

TB ML:

Sonnstine has been struggling but he was sharp @ FLA last year. The youngster for FLA also makes his ML debut after a home win. So probably a good spot to fade Tucker especiallly facing so many LHBs and some speed as well that could distract . Also TB pen has the edge. Rays 8-2 after a LOSS in series openers

Yanks get into Houston real late an dface Chacon who was a former Yank. So prefer the UNDER and Astros. Getting in at 6 AM from a West Coast flip shouldnt be fun and since its so late I think it may have immediate effects . Astros 8-4 in openers after loss plus huge benfit of no travel.

Reds playing well at home but wow does this stand OUT-BOS are 44-9 in their last 53 interleague games. Harang has dropped 4 straight and 7 of 9 starts while pitching poorly but Masterson has never started on the road or pitched away from Fenway so that is interesting especially vs so many LHBs. Think I like the Reds vet some here ......both SUCk in openers after wins Boston only 5-7 but Cincy jsut 2-10 !!

I thought KC was in for a rough weekend with no days off and this is there 4th straight travel series @ Chicago , @ NYY , home vs Texas and now out to Zona. Grienke on the hill though vs a team in Zona who stole a game and played 13 innings only to be followed bya day game that went to extras....draining IMO.....

Who hates Wash ? Play @ Pitt then fly out to Seattle who had to travel on Thursday. Dickey and his knuckler have been working . He has not allowed a run at home in 12+ innings and has a 2 ERT at nite so far . Hill ha slost all 5 away and well like SEA....

SD doesnt hit LHP but Sowrs has struggled . Banks has been good so far but long layoff worries me for him. Might be SD +1.5 RL

Cant take Mets aftertoday they looked defetaed in the post game. Feldman ahs been serviceable on the road and the TEX pen improved as it ha straveled from Ameriquest. Perez hasnt gone deep and that could be a huge isssue after consecutive extra inning games ....thinking Texas .....

Another over @ MILW ? Twins cant pitych suddenly and Milw stroking it. Although Bush was roughed up last outing prefer MILW.....

Floyd has been awesome in Chi but COL lineup is healthy and playing well . Francis will key here . Inconsistent as could be in 2007 Francis must be solid after Reynolds got crushed early today. WSox were swept @ DET . CHI despite its RH bats hasnt hit consistently off a LHSP lately .

Smith struggled his past two starts and Zito terrible vs OAK in 2007 > SImply prefer to fade OAK vs LHP and well SF has some good sticks ....

Why not LAA ? ATL has issues and another tough loss that s 6 straight almost all on the pen. Plus LAA was off and home while ATL had to come form CHI and extras !! Reyes has been good though but LAA 12-2 vs LHSP:shake:

can anyone tell me so many people are on az? I don't see it. They have been struggling. they pulled out a couple against the mets in extras but they were also struggling. webb or haren arent on the hill. I'm looking strongly at the royals. can anyone talk me out of it?

Only a couple of games that I'm interested in for tonight.

BALTIMORE - they should be happy for leaving BOS and playing at home again, they've been great in series openers and they crush lefties, especially lately, averaging .362 BA .429 OBP with 7.6 runs per game. Also, important to note here that Burres on >5 days rest has posted so far 4-0, 1.03 ERA while allowing only .209 opponent batting average. He's been pretty much like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde considering rest :D

MILWAUKEE - the Crew are 7-3 over their last 10 games, averaging 6 runs per game. They're playing good baseball, feeling confident in themselves while they've been especially efficient vs RHP, averaging .283 BA .360 OBP with 7.3 runs per game. Pen has showed some improvements, too. As for Dave Bush, all I can say is that he's been consistant over his career considering his home/road numbers. Here are his lifetime H/R stats:

starts W L ERA WHIP BAA
HOME 24 17 3.88 1.17 .249
ROAD 12 25 5.48 1.36 .286

This season hasn't been an exception so far. 3.45 home ERA with 4-1 Team WL ratio and run support of 6 runs per game. Another interesting information is that he's posted career best numbers here, in June. Lifetime he's 6-3, 3.55 ERA 1.12 WHIP with .234 BAA in June :)

LA ANGELS - CLUTCH has been the name of their game all season and lately their bats have started to hit more on regular basis. I'm especially glad to see Vlad showing some good signs of breaking up out of his season slump by going 10-for-22 (.455) with 3 HRs and 7 RBI over his last 6 games. Along with Guerrero, really hot lately have been Matthews who's 10-for-20 (.500) and Izturis who's 9-for-26 (.346) with two of them combining for 3 HRs and 8 RBI. I think the Angels are something like 10-2 vs lefties for the season, and lately they've been improving their batting stats vs southpaws by averaging +300 BA +380 OBP and +5 runs per game. Jon Garland has been pitching like an ace lately, going 2-0, 2.25 ERA over his last 7 starts while the Angels went 5-2 in those games. Unlike Halos, the Braves have been struggling lately, in both road and home games - they've been averaging only .245 BA with 3.4 runs per game over their last 7 games (4 at home and 3 on road, they're only 1-6 over that span) and with unreliable pen I think their struggles will continue...

Greinke in a downward spiral, with a history of depression? = headcase

if you think KC hit AZ, then an Over play would be my observation

any word on Millar? left last night's game with an injury I believe

any word on Millar? left last night's game with an injury I believe

All I could find is that he's been listed as questionable for tonight. Although they say the injury doesn't look serious and they're pretty much sure he won't go to DL. With the upcoming series vs Pirates featuring all 3 SP's being lefties, his bat is surely welcomed considering he hits lefties better and at home and in night he's been much better. Also, over this month he's been averaging so far .308 BA with .941 OPS and 3HR's / 9RBI... Hopefully he'll be able to play ;)

Interesting Run Line lines at my local bookie.

- LAA -1.5 @ 2.60 (it's 2.54 on Pinnacle)
- BAL -1.5 @ 2.70 (it's 2.63 on Pinnacle)

:D

Still thinking. See Pitt as a real possibility and have no interest in Baltimore. Like Burres and have wanted them to give him extra rest but Not interested in backing Baltimore off a tough series with what has been their weakest starter against a leftie that seems to be the Pitt ace who has played well on the road. Baltimore last 20 vs lefties is still 6-14 with 4 straight losses. Think the home dominance most of you have become used to may be shaken up in inter league. Still looking. Have played the Angels.

Concerning the discussion regarding Arizona and KC I think it is a pass. Both managers in this match qualify for the Baker Award. Not resting Greinke with that day off and letting him start one day later against Danks instead of Floyd was almost insane. Greinke who has faced very tough matches on the road is still in the 4 days rest zone but has Doug Davis for an opponent and Arizona at 11-9 last 20 at home is not really what I call dominant. Arizona with one of the 3 real starters could probably bury Greinke. Not spending a penny on Doug Davis directed by Melvin the Moron.

Burnett does bounce back well, and I would weigh that more that his struggles at home. Toronto is my favorite play on the board tonight.

Great article about Greinke battling with his own head ....... love how he puts baseball way in front of girlfriend..... anyways a great story.

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Zack Greinke had thrown a bad bullpen session at Spring Training and he went for a talk with Royals manager Buddy Bell in his office.

"People assumed that he was going to yell at me," Greinke said.
"But that wasn't the case. Buddy was watching my bullpen and saw that I was doing some crazy stuff and he wanted to know what was wrong with me. He wasn't yelling at me. He saw that there was something really wrong with me -- not just pitching."
Greinke told Bell about the demons that were pursuing him. Bell responded by telling the kid pitcher about some of his own problems. The next day the Royals announced that Greinke had left camp because of "personal matters."
Greinke was back in Surprise on Wednesday, starting to work toward rejoining the Royals. He looked happy and fit with the old, sly grin playing across his face.
"I just wanted to make this clear: I can't live without baseball. Up till this last offseason, I couldn't go a day without playing it," he said.
"It's to the point where it caused problems with my girlfriend because she knows baseball is more important than her. I say, 'Hey, I'm sorry. I love the game that much. You're not even close to being No. 1 -- that's how much I love baseball. I couldn't live without it.' "
A cloak of silence had dropped over Greinke after he left camp nearly two months ago.
On Wednesday, he said he's been dealing with a sports psychologist and a psychiatrist to cope with his anxieties. He admitted he has not conquered the problem.
"No," he said, "but I feel better. ... I feel like I'm not going through the worst time in my life all day long. I feel like I'm really ready to start dealing with stuff."
Greinke avoided putting a medical label on his problems, nor would he be specific about the treatment.
"The main thing is, I just have a tough time around people for the most part," he said. "I've always had a problem with people but, lately, it just got worse and worse to the point where I'm out in the field and around a bunch of people, I can't really leave. I'm stuck in the situation and I get a lot of anxiety doing it. And then I get uncomfortable with what I'm doing because it was messing with my pitching. Because I was constantly worried about other stuff than pitching and I couldn't do anything. It just would control my life."
Royals general manager Allard Baird sat with Greinke, 22, during Wednesday's interview but kept quiet unless asked a question. He let Greinke tell his story.
Greinke was only in camp about 10 days before his locker became vacant on Feb. 25. He recalled a bullpen session with new catcher Paul Bako.
"After five minutes I grabbed the ball real hard and I was about to chuck it as far as I could," Greinke said. "But there's about 100 people watching this stupid bullpen and I have to throw the next five minutes still. Even though it's not going to help me at all. ... I was like, 'I've got to get out of this place, I can't even think about pitching right now.'"
In another session, he remembered throwing every pitch about 100 mph, hitting the backstop about 15 times and nearly tearing off catcher John Buck's arm.
"I was just losing it," he said.
So he went home.
There he hung out with his parents, Don and Marsha; his brother Luke, a pitcher at Auburn University, and girlfriend Emily. He lifted weights, worked out hard, and relaxed by fishing.
"My relationship with my family, my girlfriend and brother has all gotten better through this," he said.
Baird called frequently. So did Bell.
"It's just unbelievable the support they have given me," Greinke said.
When he expected Bell simply to run him out of camp, instead the manager became very understanding and talked to him like a father.
Occasionally, teammates checked in. He's not concerned about how they'll receive him if he goes into the clubhouse with a positive outlook.
"I'm not ashamed of what I did. When I talk to people I tell them I'm crazy, I tell them, hey, I'm nuts," Greinke said with a half-smile.
"I don't even know what it is exactly. I wish I could say it was depression or whatever it was, but I don't really know. I know I was feeling depressed."
Greinke was a joy to behold as a precocious rookie in 2004 when he had an 8-11 record and a tight 3.97 ERA in 24 starts. He changed speeds and game plans on the fly, he threw trick pitches including a floating eephus, he snapped off a quick pitch that caught batters napping.
"The quick pitch is my favorite," Baird confessed. "I try not to laugh in case I'm on camera."
Last year, though, he had a 5-17 record and a 5.80 ERA and the joy seemed sucked away.
Greinke dismisses the pressure of being a Major Leaguer as contributing to his problem.
"I really don't think it had anything to do with it. I think losing might have something to do with it because losing all the time can wear on you and it wore on me a lot," he said.
<TABLE cellSpacing=2 cellPadding=2 width=150 align=left border=0><TBODY><TR><TD><HR color=#000000></TD></TR><TR><TD class=textXl><!-- ######## ENTER PULL QUOTE ######### -->"I clearly realize that baseball is not any of the problem. "It wouldn't have been any different if I was 15-8. The thing is, I spent two years losing 100 games and it's not fun. It kind of takes away your reason for being up there because you're like, 'We're already out of it and it's just past the All-Star break. Why are we doing it?' And it really wears on you, especially at the end of the year."
Even so, Greinke has dealt with his demons before in his life and doesn't think the game is a contributing factor. In fact, he seems happiest when he's on the field.
"I clearly realize that baseball is not any of the problem. It's just the other stuff that really gives me a lot of problems," he said.
Obviously, the Royals could use an effective Greinke. On the day he discussed his return, the team was in Chicago and lost its 10th straight game.
"I think he would have been a really good pitcher for us this year and I think he will be whatever he decides to do," catcher Buck said.
"He has an ability to change speeds that a lot of older pitchers are still trying to grasp and he does it effectively. He's not afraid to take miles an hour off his fastball. It's hard to get a young pitcher to do that sometimes, but he likes to."
Greinke will be working out at Surprise until he's ready to take on Minor League competition. It'll probably be a long process, Baird said.
Just as conquering his psychological concerns will take a while. Greinke says he's not completely over that hurdle yet.
"I'm just hoping it gets better," he said. "It's still going to be some time. It might be a month, it might be three months. It might be never. But everybody who's dealt with it said it gets better." jays, rays, and over 9 in milkvillle for me. hopefully i dont get rivered like usual. gl everybody. lets slam today sn.

7PM games:

Under 9.5 runs @ Shea:

Oliver Perez has done well vs team swith LH lineups like SD , NYY and Cincy this year. Texas .243 vs LHP away and NYM only 242 home vs RHP as well as .222 L10. Ollie .123 vs LHB . On 6 days rest 3-1 in 5 starts 2.36 ERA 26.2 Inn only 15 hist 12 runs( but 7 earned )19bb 23Ks .165 BAA. Feldman coming of one of his better starts has done okay on the road his worst work being 5 runs in 6 innings.

Reilly is behind the dish and I think if he basicallyu represents the SP he works with.

Texas away in 08 vs LHSP.
L3-7 vs Kazmir
W2-1 vs Sabathia(10 innings)
L2-5 vs Lee
L4-11 vs Perkins
W2-0 vs Bedard
L3-7 vs Washburn
L1-3 vs G.Smith
L6-19 vs Gambler
L3-5 vs Lester
L2-5 vs Bedard

So playing the 1st 5 inn under and game under . Also I hate to say it but lean Mets because of the2-8 record for Tex vs LHP away ....

Have a bunch of others but felt this may be under the radar.

Second bet is Banks first half and game. Banks looking very good and 7-3 last 10 Padres looking at Lee and Sabathia next. Seems like time to hit the weak link. Spread seems a little silly. Pick or Padres minus 10 cents looks better to me. With great home pitchers Cleveland is 5-5 last 10 at home while Padres are 4-6 away. Ride Current Form.

Agree here with a lineup not known for hitting LHP the guy who is the weakest on paper is Sowers plus Banks is throwing well so far...:cheers:on this as well

Pretty much stuck to previous comments ...lots of away teams (including Away ML +130) and suprising more NL teams then expected...GL all..Jays and Under @ Shea were my 2 unit plays

nice Ump in STL

Kendrick gets insane run support, no matter how the Phils lineup is doing otherwise (6, 5, 7, 7, 5, 5, 5, 6, 8 & 9 runs last 10 starts)

Wellemeyer gets decent support at home (5, 5, 5, 3, 11 & 8 runs, admittedly w/Pujols present) but despite his decent looking pitching stats, I'm not sold on this guy.

small bet on Over 9.5

On this as well. Wellenemyer 8 days since his last start..to long IMO..Howard goes deep as I type:cheers:

Zito Last Season vs A's...0-2 11.25 ERA...A's do well in Bay Bridge Series.

So torn on this one bro. A's just dont match up well vs LHP and even Zito has held LHP to a 229 clip . Guess it boils down to how he does vs Brown , Ellis who is heating up , Crosby and Suzuki if he catches.....

Oak run production huge iisue for me Smith lackluster past few and SFG having Rowand , Molina , Aurilia and Winn.....

Think I may back SFG ...not sure Oak just weak on the road vs LH even before the injuries:cheers:

All Good Points SportsNut:shake:

Zito 0-5 with a 6.53 ERA in six home starts, and has only one win in his last 15 starts at San Francisco. While it WAS last season, The Giants lost five of six to Oakland, and have dropped the last four meetings at AT&T Park.

Good stuff fellas. Nice call Vap with Oakland.

Had a great day inbetween the 1st two games and the last game. That kinda sucked. I rolled with LAD ML and +1.5 losing about 3.5 units , went with over @ Cle but SD and SD +1.5 losing about 2.5 units (had the over ) , made a play on SF and over losing 2.5 units .......but won literally about everything else...

NYM ML(2u}
1st 5 under NYM
Under 9.5 NYY {2u}
Jays ML {2u}
Jays 1st score
TB ML (small play -1.5 )
Under 8 Jays (small play)
Balt ML (lost small play under)
Away ML
Astros +1.5 RL
Under 1st 5 Astros
Under 9.5 Astros {2u}
Twins ML
Twins +1.5
Over Twins 9.5
Col ML (lost)
COl +1.5 RL
Under 9 PUSH
KC ML
Over 9 Philly
1st 5 Atlanta small
Over 9 ATL (1.25u)

Fun day ...missed only 1 play Reds ML and forced a tiny ...still 21-11 very nice +9.5 units.....could have been better but if it wasnt for the LAKERS....
