Fanduel-Draftkings discussion week 3

Carson Palmer 6,600 at draft kings looks pretty enticing to me against a 49ers team that looked lost vs Big Ben. Carson has been of fire as well.

Andy Dalton vs the Ravens looks pretty good too at 5,700. He should have lots of success.

Decker sprained his knee last night. Not sure if he will play this weekend. I love B Marshall if Decker is out - he should get a ton of targets.

I also took Marshawn on my team - that whole team is due for a huge break out performance against a crappy Bears team.

I think Jimmy Graham is due for a big week. Both him and Skittles.

Danny Woodhead and Dion Lewis continue to be undervalued.

Agree with this Cover, and put them both in one team, but wound up swapping out Woodhead for Abdullah (is he due for a better game?) because I have Stevie Johnson at flex. Also rode Palmer last week and will continue as long as the price is right. I believe he's thrown at least 2 TDs in his last 8 or 9 games. Going low in these spots allows you to really load up on stud WRs, which served me well last week.

Other thoughts: Blount might be a sneaky good choice this week at 4,000 with NE expected to have a big lead early; same holds true for Lynch, not so much for value at 7,400 but for the chance to pound him with a big lead (Seahawks might enjoy the opportunity to get him going). Both teams favored by two TDs.

Speaking of Seattle, squeaky wheel Graham might get spoond-fed the ball.

Devonta Freeman at 4,600 might be worth a look in Atlanta's backfield.

James Starks at 3,000 is potentially great value but there's risk/reward. He's in the Monday night game. Not sure Lacy will be able to go, but if he does, you might be left naked with Starks in the lineup and no appealing options to swap him out.

Another player to consider in an injury situation at low cost: Gavin Escobar, Dallas TE. Witten might not be able to go, and I imagine Weeden will 1) rely on his TE a bit, and 2) perhaps have a rapport with Escobar as both probably worked together as backups. Escobar's at 2,600.

I noticed you had Brown and Julio last week. Nice job snatching those studs.

The way Brown is going they are going to have us pay 10k to get him. Guy is a fantasy dream.

Yeah, will be going to that well again and, like last week, will try to find production/value at some other spots. I scored in 150, even 160 range despite whiffing on two RBs I thought had good potential in Sproles and Abdullah. Good QB play helped (Palmer, Roethlisberger). I'll shelve Sproles for now but will go back to Abdullah.

Anyone have any thoughts on how many teams should be played? I hate the idea of putting all my eggs in one basket, only to have my expectations for certain players not play out. Had several teams last week and they did well thanks to similar characteristics: somewhat low on QB, RBs, bigger on WRs.

Haven't really developed a management strategy at this point.

Brandon Marshall (6,200) could be huge if Decker is out or limited. Fitz really seemed hell bent on getting him the ball the other night, even with Decker going well in the first half.

Playing Cam at QB. Two hosts on the Roto Expert Fantasy Show on Sirius were in major agreement there. Feel he could really go off on NO & maybe rush for a TD as well. All fucking speculation though, who knows.

Got Lewis & Woodhead also. Antonio Brown will be a staple for me until I see a drop-off. I'll adjust my budget around him.

Staying far away from the entire Dallas team for now. Too many ?'s at this point.

Bargain guys I'm using to afford the big guns:

Starks - Think even in a 50-50 role he's worth it for just $3000
Sproles - With Murray iffy and the Jets having top level corners I think Sproles will be the main offensive weapon for the Iggles.
Kyle Rudolph - 14 targets, 10 catches, 3 red zone targets, pretty good for $3300

Keeping an eye on the Murray situation. I agree that Sproles could be huge this week Gandolf. At tight end I really like Eric Ebron at a discounted price. Even more so if Stafford is banged up. He will see lots of targets again this week. Completely agree about Antonio Brown. Gotta find a way to have this guy on every team until defenses figure out some sort of way to defend him. It's only going to get harder for defenses too with Bell coming back. He might put up video game numbers this year.

Im somewhat new to this as well. I've been coming up with two or three variations and using them. Seems like too many lineups would get maddening.

Problem with playing a QB & RB from the same team is you're pulling for points to be taken away from your team. Every point Bell or Lynch get rushing are points those QB's aren't getting.

Just passing on what I hear on the radio from the experts. Could work on occasion but not a great strategy in the long run.

I have one with 5 players. All the same that you have but the fifth one that you don't have is Doug Baldwin. Not sure if it's a good idea cause there's only one ball and a team can only score so much. I can still take one out if needed later. But I think the Seahawks absolutely destroy the hapless Bears and their defense and will get multiple touchdowns through the air and on the ground.

Took me 3 simple weeks, to realize the fucking con these jokes are (sorry for talking about sponsors that way) I am salty right now. I thought what I had was a damn good week, at one point I was in the top 2,000 out of over 350,000 entrants. What does a top 2,000 finish get you.... a Measly $30. Is it fun, yes of course. But there is no easy way to track your scores and track opponents scores.

Mariota 23.68 2 tds
Dion Lewis 17.7 1 td
AP 27.6 2 tds 100 yards
Crabtree 7.6 sucks
Jones 43.4 2 td's 150 yards
Allen Robinson 10.8 sucks
Gronk 17.1 100 yards
Barnridge 25.5 1 td 100 yards
Panthers 5

Total score 178.38 good enough for 45,364 place out of 383,333 gets you back $6 on a $3 investment.... I don't understand the hype, unless you get insanely lucky might as well play lottery. I am just bitter, but at same time although I finished 45,364 which isn't great at one point I was in the top 2000, and the difference was I got paid $30. Unless you are the 10 ten which requires the top players at each position, you are just funding a system similar to pull tabs.

this is exactly what it is, a lottery. You honestly dont know whos gonna do what, ever! You are just picking and hoping they do well, thats it.

Plus, I would never play one with that many people, go play a 12 man or head to head, much better IMO

yeah the tournies are a jackpot. so ridiculous what has to happen to win but its still way better odds than the lottery.

i read that the top 10 guys on draftkings average 500+ lineups per week. basically, you aren't going to beat the sharks. stick to the 100 man 50/50s. they are pretty easy to win

ive learned that i suck at DFS, to hard to beat.
after i donk away the remaining $9.30 in my account im done

This company mad about $300,000,000 in profits last year...
they take 10% of every person who enters a contest of every amount.

Fuk I should have thought of this! LOL

so many things lately that i should have done, this being one of them. still could be profitable to start a new one but you need a lot of capital at this point. leaguesafe is the one i'm pissed i didn't do because we were having trouble collecting buy ins over 10 years ago for leagues i was in. so easy.

Neither FanDuel nor DraftKings are profitable at this point, so I'm not sure those figures are correct. That may be the revenue they generated, but neither of the 2 companies are profitable. I'll try and dig up the articles that referenced the fact they aren't profitable.

Here's a good article about the number of entries the sharks are putting in each week...and how much of the winnings those few people are taking...not sure if it's in this article but I've read that basically the top 1% of the players are making over 90% of the money...
