NFL Draft Discussion

Might as well put you getting your balls licked in there too if you're going to be that ridiculous
Same deal as last year. Sure maxx is “better” than moore but moore still a top 10 wr. Better qbs in this draft too than last year.

The structure of deal has been done and thats what it takes to get 1st overall.

Did light googling on a trade of raiders-bears including crosby. 6 diff publications forecasted a similar haul.

Wake up. A generational qb and 1st overall pick costs a big premium.

We can’t ignore the fact that the deal doesn’t seem to have turned out well for the team that made it. It’s only been a year, yes…but why would another team be willing to sign up for what Carolina ended up (and gave up) with at the end of the day?

Just because someone made a horrible deal shouldn’t mean that’s the standard going forward.

I agree. Im not saying its a no brainer for Vegas, just the cost. Is what it is when jumping from 13 to 1.

Tho would people say not working out if they took Stroud?

Panthers take Stroud and win 2-3 more games the deal is a wash. Its only terrible bc Young looked horrible and this year is 1st overall and not 5-10.

Stroud probably would have looked like Young if he was in Carolina
Maybe. Who knows. Winners, losers and washes in all trades. One deal may be horrible, an identical one great for both teams.

Continuing the example, if Raiders get the next top 5ish QB in league no one says they lost the deal. Gamble you take

Stroud was awesome last year, but he would not have looked like an all pro in Carolina.

Stroud still better than Bryce when all said and done -- but Bryce was fighting an uphill battle there the whole time.

How many full USC games have you watched the last two years?
3 years of Caleb TAPE shows he has immense talent. Deficiencies, sure. All QBs do coming in. I dont know if he will be better than Maye Daniels etc but based on skillset and the last 3 years he is a great pick imo. Never know how itll pan out.

Bears can decide trading back for Maye, Daniels, etc and keeping Fields is better path and I’d support it. I really dont have a firm opinion on what to do other than def draft a QB in top 5.

Call it what it is. If any of us motherfuckers were half as good at evaluating talent as we act, we’d be getting paid tens of millions in a front office somewhere. Its fun pretending we smart tho right?

I am certain that I would be a better GM than anyone the Jets have had since I've been a fan.

Maybe, but I’m also not sure Stroud has the year he did if he’s in Carolina. As many have mentioned, the situation/team is THE most important factor as to whether or not a young QB will be successful. Given the Bears track record, I’m not sure it’ll matter who they pick…they most likely won’t work out and look good/great.

To be honest, most of the guys that get paid millions aren’t really that good at it to begin with.

It’s basically a crap shoot, and they work with what they have, but we’re taking about 20-23 year old dudes…they’re unpredictable and again the situation they end up in is EVERYTHING.

Seems like Caleb called bullshit on the NFL's pre draft routine and I actually agree with him. Throwing against no defenders indoors with a script you've gone through 20 times is some of the most boring, ga yest shit I've ever seen. Completely pointless.

Bears sure have a hard time doing it at QB, it will be a huge mistake to trade fields imo. Organization sucks.

I dont think there is a right answer. Just different paths. If you move on from Fields you can make 2-3 big signings. If you keep him, you can try to keep adding talent through draft.

I like Fields alot. But i also think any of the top qbs in draft his production is their floor most likely.

As far as the org, this is year 2 of the new org realistically. Not just GM but senior execs. We will see what happens.

There. Keep Fields, draft Daniels, trade up for MHJ or Nabers at 4/5. Embarrass the Lions for next decade.

Some props still out there I bet:

Nix over 32.5…..he’s not a 1st round player and would be oldest 1st round QB since Brandon Weeden

Graham Barton Under 20.5….he’s going to Steelers at 20
