Copa 2016 draw/discussion thread

braves

Pretty much a regular
This happens tomorrow , hopefully USA avoids Uruguay, Chile, and Columbia in pot 2 lol

No matter who we have in our group not getting out when we are hosting would be a disaster, of course JK still wouldn't lose his job

Thought this was about that show on spiketv

Likely going to all three games in AZ, hoping for decent draw for Mexico game at least and consolation game should be decent, for a consolation game

might want Brazil to be honest

forget where I saw it but they made a good point that with the olympics in Rio there's no way Neymar plays in this

Cops are drawing 100% of the time, discussion not even an option.

Really looking forward to going to Mexico/Uruguay, will be the first time I've gone to an international match and couldn't ask for more knowing that Mexico were gonna be here...most likely will go to Ecuador/Peru as well, there's enough interest for me anyway and somehow Mexico are our only CONCACAF team of those games.

Was hoping to catch Chile or Colombia, but very decent chance one of them (or Argentina) roll in to the consolation game, which is here as well. Won't be surprised to see US get shut out, that draw is hilarious.

USA going to get buried

Probably, when you have a coach that has lowered the bar as much as JK has

We have more talent in the pool than we have ever had.. There is a starter in the bundelsgia that didn't make the squad ( never happened). Two starters that will be playing the the Liga MX final this weekend also didn't make the squad

Zero excuse for us not to get out of group in a tourney we are hosting..

how Jk calls this the group of death is beyond me

I'm taking Mexico to win this puppy, best value there is imo.. Chicarito and Guadrado as top goal scorers

I just read people think Pulisic might not even start? that would be insane

He looked good last night , we will see , but I think he comes in as a sub in every game like Dortmund .. Really depends on what formation JK uses. He played a 4-3-3 last night kinda , I have my doubts that he would actually use that . I think he plays a basic 4-4-2 against Columbia

point, counter-point !
Soccer babies
figures

what am i supposed to paint my face n root for the USA cuz I live here?

They stink. That's a fact.

hope they lose early so I don't have to see the crap highlights on tv on a nightly basis

Do you need a hug?

Stick to the other forums kid

... good goal, too. two subs came in and got r done. USNMT were the better side in the 2nd half. deserved the result. hopefully it is something to build on. out with the old and in with the new?

Guys: Here's some thoughts I sent a friend of mine. We are going to dabble in betting this tourney...I don't know that much about football but I know how to read articles...
Feedback welcome...

Seems to me like the best plays to WIN are from this list:

ARG
Chile
Columbia
Brazil
Uruguay
Ecuador
Mexico

Those are the only seven teams that could hoist the cup in my opinion, now let's look at the odds:

ARG +200, Brazil +450....not enough return on Argentina plus Messi is banged up....Brazil is kind of out of sorts and is low odds just cuz they are Brazil TOSS THEM BOTH

Chile +850
Columbia +800
Uruguay +1150
Mexico +1000
Ecuador +3000

I would toss Uruguay because Suarez is out for the early rounds. Isn't he the biter? I can't bet on that guy.

So we have
Chile +850
Columbia +800
Mexico +1000
Ecuador +3000

Chile won cup LY; Columbia has tons of talent; Mexico has won six in a row and has home field; Ecuador beat ARG and Uruguay in friendlies.

I like them all, but we probably need to toss one. I would suggest Chile because they play in Arg group and so likely will be second. That means they could face Mexico in the QF in Santa Clara, CA where it will be hostile...or they get Uruguay, then maybe Brazil in the semis...

So we could win bet
Columbia 1/8
Mexico 1/10
Ecuador .5/15

Other notes:

The worst teams appear to be Haiti and Bolivia, they are bet against. I did read Haiti is tight on the backline though.

Paraguay places defensive football, consider UNDER bets

C Rica has great goalie (Real Madrid guy), consider UNDER bets...could give USA problems.

Bolivia has three inexperienced goalies, consider OVER bets vs ARG and Chile

Venenzuela tried to get coach fired at Xmas; they lose first game vs. Jamaica on Sunday and they could be folding their tents and quitting.

Jamaica is dangerous, they drew with Uruguay and beat Chile...

I know we talked about taking the lowest odds to draw in first round, but I really don't see much variation from the bookies other than Peru/Haiti which they obviously like Peru to win...I don't think that strategy makes that much sense although I do like it in the first round (especially in the first game) with two bottom tier teams playing one another. They get a point and keep their hopes alive...

I don't really like any of the group odds..

First round matches through Monday with what I like:

Friday:
USA v Columbia...Has to be a play on Columbia PK -110...Columbia is much better than US, great value here on the PK

Sat:
Paraguay/CRica...Scouting says Paraguay plays defensive soccer and C Rica has a great goalie. Play the UND 2 -115; or maybe NO GOALS +600 if you want to get ballsy

Ecuador/Brazil...Step out here and take a price on Ecuador +325 to WIN...Ec has beat ARG and URU...Brazil is missing a bunch of guys including Hulk and really not playing well....could be an early surprise

Peru/Haiti...only way to play this is Peru -1, -113 or just NO BET

Sunday:

Ven/Jamiaca...Seems like a good place for a DRAW +205...this is tied with Par/CR for lowest draw odds

URU/Mexico...Mexico has home field, won six in a row...like MEX PK -115

Monday

Chile/ARG...Both attacking styles and tons of offense seems like a good place for an OVER 2.5 goals.

Bol/Panama...seems like another place for DRAW +215...tied with USA game for third lowest draw odds.

the achilles injury came from Real Madrid throwing a brown envelope of cash at him telling him not to play

Like almost all of it mars, Peru is a fuck ton better than Haiti and really like Ecuador over Brazil. Won't be surprised if US don't get out of the group, draw won't shock me against Colombia.

Mexico to win the cup will be a bet for me. GL

Mexico won last night, didn't see the second half but they were dominated in the first half..

Chile. Argentina, Brazil, and probably Columbia are all better than Mexico .. I'll have a small bet on Mexico to win this , but talent wise they are a step behind. They will have massive support. Other thing to worry about is they will most likely have to face chile or Argentina in the quarters..

Jamaica I believe will win you some money in this tourney.

Think you jump on Columbia now if you like them, think money comes in on them tomorrow. Maybe I'm being a homer, but I agree with KJ think USA can get some type of result at home tomorrow( my guess is they probably blow it vs CR or Paraguay )
