CFL Syndicate 2021

Betregal was just announced as the CFLs official sportsbook partner today and they have some lines up. I don't have an account there so no idea what limits are but I'm guessing theyre too low to be useful.

Anyone out there have an account and know what their limits on CFL sides, totals and RSW are?

1*/.25* Winnipeg +4.5/ML -107/+160

Wasn't planning to get involved in this game but I make Winnipeg a 1pt fav so this line is way off IMO. Both teams come out of camp dinged up but IMO Hamilton is in a bit worse shape. They have a glaring hole to fill at LT and RT Chris Van Zeyl hasn't practiced all week.

With no preseason I don't think you can underestimate how tough it is to go from a 2week training camp on the road for an early game in week 1. And at a sold out WInnipeg no less.

I thihnk Hamilton can win this game but it will be close. Total is about right IMO

Hi Hulu good luck this season.

Away favorites that won more than 8 games last season are 1-10 ATS in week 1

Hey Spottie, good to see you bud. Good luck to you also.

Thanks for that stat, thats a nifty trend and it makes some sense.

Its hard to cap anything right now with so much turnover but these teams look fairly even to me. Cats probably a bit better but Winnipeg has the situational advantage for sure.

Thanks and Good to see you too.

I read this thread waiting for this week, now we are here.

I am not so sold on this game. I thought it would be a closer line then -4. I expect this line to drop.

Yes hard to cap and lots of changes. MUCH more parody now! That part I love.

Betregal opened yesterday with WPG -3

Not sure I've ever seen a 7.5pt difference between books before

Checked this morning and it was still the same but now its been flipped to WPG +3.5

Wow really? I guess I have to make a small play on Winnipeg here @ +4

Yeah but Betregal is as square as it comes. I tried signing up there to see what the limits are but they only accept deposit by credit card. I think they only threw up early lines because the announcement about them being the CFLs official gaming partner went out and they had to be ready.

The way I see this one is we have the 2 teams with the most continuity since 2019. WPG lost the interior of their DL and a couple of DBs but it otherwise intact and I think they can replace those pieces fairly easily. Darvin Adams is out but so is Bralon Addison for Hamilton which is basically a wash. WPG still has the best line in the league and even is Andrew Harris doesn't play, that line will open holes for Johnny Augustine who can bash some heads in his own right.

Hamilton has some glaring holes on the OL with the loss of Ryker Matthews to BC and C Mike Filer to retirement. And now with Van Zeyl not practicing, thats 2 tackles who have to be replaced potentially for this game. I think that is going to hurt them and Masoli is always good for an INT when he gets pressured.

Your analysis is 2nd to none, I appreciate it.

The problem I have is both these teams are due for regression, and I think it happens. Winnipeg at the current line is too good to pass up.

Basically the way I see it as well. Both these teams have a lot of continuity but that also means theyve gotten older over the past 2 years and are due to regress

Depth charts out for tomorrow. Hamilton's 2 tackles have a combined 2 professional starts. They are also missing their #2 and #3 receivers in Posey and Addison. Alll star DT Ted Laurent is out as well as starting safety Tunde Adeleke. This is a lot to overcome in game 1.

Winnipeg missing Darvin Adams and Andrew Harris as expected but also WLB Kyrie Wilson. Looks like Brady Oliveira will get the start at RB and I don't think the drop off will be that big as this OL is great.

All in all Hamilton has way more holes to fill and one less day of practice.

No one seems to be talking about it but there is a huge turnover in place kickers this season and a lot of teams are struggling to find a competent kicker. Hamilton will go with Tyler Bertolet who has been under 70% FGs for his entire career, both at aTm and in the AAF.

BC is rolling with a japanese kicker who I have no idea about but was hitting 60 yarders in traininc camp.

Winnipeg drafted rookie Mark Liegghio but he has been shaky so they were smart and signed Tyler Crapingna when Montreal cut him. They will likely let Liegghio punt because his leg is huge.

Kicking woes could be a big story this year.

Money coming on WPG this morning. Down to 2.5 now.

Still waiting for other lines. Wish they would just release them all at once.
RIGHT?!? Up until now, they've always released the entire week on the same day.
The total has also come down 2 points to 49.5.

I seem to recall this happening one other year in week 1, releasing them each 12-24 hours before kickoff but then settled into a regular weekly drop by week 2.

If I were to make an uneducated guess I'd say the guy that makes the original line (and I am convinced there is one source that Pinnacle uses and then other books copy) is taking his time given the unusual amount of roster turnover this year and not releasing anything until final depth charts are released.

After 600 days of not betting the CFL, I am like a caged animal, (a Tiger-cat?) pacing back and forth in my office and hitting refresh every 15 mins or so.

I think I remember the week 1 lines delay as well, I think it might have lasted a few weeks but I'm not sure

Missed the 3.5 and 3

On bombers ML, like you said above the ticats are just missing so many guys, and usually early on what you can rely on is the guys in the trenches while the play calling catches up, bombers just look like they have a big advantage there today

Still think Hamilton ends up the better team and not too far out, but good spot tonight

Word is that Hamilton has been showing a number of double tight-end sets in practice this week featuring Jake Burt and Nicola Kilinic. Possibly to negate their OL woes.

Sask has had to move their walk through indoors today due to smoke from wildfires

They have to pencil in Brett Boyko at LT tomorrow. Ouch. I'd rather have @Sammy Meatballs protecting my backside

I sprinkled a little $ on Bombers +140 yesterday

Both Pittsburgh and Dallas have decent enough QBs to get some scores. Total went from 33 to 31.5. Thats pretty low for any game

Thru 2 drives WPG is getting pressure easily but Masoli is razor sharp right now. Collaros looks awful so far.

Hulu I got +7 -108 (Bookmaker) on BC tonight. I was tempted to sell to +6.5 for +104. .12 cents is hard to pass up with a less then meaningless 7 in the CFL.

Hope you get in or maybe it goes up further?

1* BC Lions +7 -105

This is insanity. Sask has the second worst OL in the league right now. Their 3rd choice at LT just went on the 6 game. Can't pass up this kind of value.

Almost overslept this one. I can't believe they hung a 7. I wouldve been happy with a 6. Right now its juiced toward Sask so we may even see a 7.5.

I took it at a book where I can cash out fairly so if 7.5 pops I can cash out and get it

The oddsmakers have no idea what is going on right now.

Now that sports betting is legal in Canada maybe those crazy Rider fans are betting this number up? If thats the case we may make money fading the Riders all year in the right spots.

Early in the season the books are not capping the games or looking at off-season moves. BC has been pretty bad and Sask was good last season. It did open where you expected and I was a bit surprised to get my 7 as I thought it would be close to 7.

Anyway I expect some points tonight. Either BC QB should be able to get it done! Well see if I am right.

The CFL is very Valuable to me. Its not the greatest sport because of the talent pool is less, but beating the book is the purpose not the quality of the players.

Yeah I agree, they are just looking at 2019 records and basing their line off that.

I expect points too but with Sask's OL I worry that they might not be able to hold up their end of the score like Hamilton last night. I think Rourke will be a good QB but I would worry if he were thrust into action this early. Reilly has been out of practice much of this week but he is a warrior so I'm not worried about him playing.

I'm gonna sit this total out

Same. CFL and WNBA have the softest lines but at least I can get decent cash down on the CFL

Hulu, which books offer cashouts ?

Bet365 is the only one in my stable that offers fair cashouts (ie return your entire stake if the line hasn't moved). A number of other offer it but you have to be careful because a lot take a tax so its rarely worth it.

From what I understand, there are a group of bettors that are using cashouts as a form of trading. Buy in on a line that you think will move and then cash out at a small profit when it does. No need to actually sweat the game. I think it could work but it seems lilke an awful lot of work for the return.
