Brewers has seen enough. Coaching carousel 2024-2025

Sorry Lions fans I was rooting for you to win 50-40 like I predicted. As much as I wanted to see Glenn exposed as the fraud that he is I wanted the team to win.

He’s horrible. Sending 6-7 every single play worked vs the reeling Sam Darnold Vikings. It was a elementary game plan to think it would work vs anyone who wasn’t having a mental breakdown at the QB position like Sam and his ghosts.

I know they were down a lot of guys. But the 9ers have faced similar if not worse injuries and they canned their last 2 DCs and they had middle of the road ranked defenses. Not bottom barrel.

AG is a tool.

On offense - Who is responsible for those play calls? Is it Ben or Dan? I’m sure they are drawn up well but the timing was just completely unnessary.

If the Jets are insistent on hiring a defensive coach because we know scoring doesn't matter give me Spags who at least is an elite coordinator.

You did it with Bowles

The whole thing starts with the owner and GM unfortunately. Coach is irrelevant other than the same talking points us soccer people get wrapped up in.

No coaching is not irrelevant and essentially hiring the same coach every time has gotten them nowhere. Hire a real offensive coach (not Arthur Smith) and pretend that you are allowed to score points.

An offensive coach without a quality GM is a defensive coach. That's why they get the no thank you cards on Monday morning in the front office. Maybe flowers too.

Fuck Aaron Glenn. I hope he breaks the Kotite record for worst record in team history. Only the Jets would fire the incompetent Saleh and replace him with arguably the worst defensive coach in the entire league.

I still think that Jacksonville was the best place for Johnson to go.

He has to see potential in their roster and the team has reset expectations. That division is wide open now and no one is dominant. Every OC mind loves the thought of having someone who can move 2-3 feet if necessary. Detroit needed that and I think now McVay does, too. Staff likely gone.

Defense was absolutely battered this season ...Thinking he'd easily be one of the hottest hires if Hutch and then were still balling ...

Jets are not that far away from winning 9+ games imo ...Maybe he brings a solid staff aboard and your Boyz have a nice off-season bringing in some help

Glenn/Newmark will go a combined 7-27 in two seasons and be replaced by the next DC/ loser front office combination.

You know what... We might be surprised man. I thought Dan Campbell would be horrific. Who is to say Ben Johnson is going to be really good or Aaron Glen is going to be bad. Glen might be a not great coordinator but a good head coach. Johnson might be a great coordinator but not a good head coach.

Johnson has the most hype of any coaching search I can remember for someone with zero experience and only 3 years as a play caller. Gotta remember all the talent the Lions have on that side of the ball. If he's not calling the plays for the Bears, then what does it mean? Detroit won't change a thing except for maybe all those trick plays. But that's also who Dan Campbell is.

Ben Johnson is the same guy who stopped handing the ball off to jah Gibbs when he was averaging 10.7 yards per carry against one of the worst run defenses in the league Saturday. He instead had his wr throw the ball for a pick when they could have cut that lead to 3.

Josh McDaniel had all that hype, he sucks. Mike McDaniel is turning out to be a bust, Adam Gase was terrible, some people just aren't good HCS. CEOs. Time will tell. Plus it's terrible juju for Ben to go to a division rival. The city of Detroit and the culture built under Dan Campbell will never forget it. It's like a Michigan player going to the buckeyes or some shit.

Fans care way more about rivalries than players and coaches do.

"Don't coach the bears, they're in our division"

"They're going to give me millions of dollars, setting my family up for life."

"Good point, see you out there Ben."

I dunno man. You have to face these guys two times a year. Definitely affects the path to playoffs. But I do see your point.

If the Jets weren't going down the same road (first time defensive head coach) that has failed time and time again I wouldn't be so bothered. I mean seriously try something different. Lets pretend its 2025 and not 1950 and that scoring points is what wins games in this league. This team hasn't had a good offense this century and couldn't even be respectable with a hall of fame QB so lets hire a bad defensive coordinator as head coach.

Maybe Ben Johnson will be a bad head coach but just based off his resume as a great offensive mind he has a chance to be good. Glenn on the other hand isn;t even a good coordinator so my money is on him failing miserably. Then to top it off they are hiring this Newmark clown as GM who was with Detroit for 26 years which you know as a Lions fan were completely miserable until Brad Holmes took over. If they are hiring from the Detroit front office why is it not Ray Agnew who's son is already employed by the Jets as a scout.

As a fan all I want is some hope that this trash that they have put on the field can be improved but I am certain that Aaron Glenn is a loser and it will never get better with him.

I do agree that its kind of scummy for Ben to go to a rival and I really thought that Jacksonville was the better opportunity to win being in such a weak division with good weather as another plus for that job. Its really weird that he turned down Washington and a year later takes what I consider an inferior job.

I have never been as upset with a potential hiring for this loser franchise as I am with Glenn so I will just take a hiatus until the day comes that they hire competent people as the coach and GM. It took forever for the Lions to get it right with Holmes and Campbell and unfortunately for me it will be at least another 2 years before Glenn is fired and I have to watch this process begin again.

I dunno man. Detroit front office guys been pretty good actually. Martin Mayhew in Washington. I know Ben liked Agnew and Newmark. We'll see.

I would like an OC as well as I've started before in this thread... You got to remember there are failures too though. Brian Daboll another one. The guys with the hype seem to not do well. The under the radar hires like Sean mcvay, KOC, Zac Taylor types do well. Although Taylor might be coaching himself out of a job.

Lions will be fine. People don't understand Dan Campbell plays a huge part in the passing game and Hank Fraley does the run game. Campbell also called the last 8 games of 2021 season with Goff and that was when their main receiver was breshard perriman and they were putting up 30 points a game. We'll see.

The Lions have become a model organization that drafts well and Campbell is that "leader of men" that is always talked about but is mostly nonsense other than him and a few others. They can move Engstrand to OC and still have a great offense and hire a random hobo off the street to replace Glenn and improve defensively.
