its not about UNC. It's about USClite. I was simply pointing out that your coach right now, Steve Spurrier, who infamously stated, "you simply could not spell Citrus Bowl without the letters UT" He was doing his normal, pretentious digs at a player/coach/school.
as we all know, he was referring to Tennessee who was consistently good, but never great. They couldn't win the big one (UF). Anyway, while that wasn't entirely true (bc they did win their fair share of big ones including a MNC), Spurrier said it. And therefore it became true.
fast forward to the present time and Steve Spurrier is the coach who can't seem to get over that hump even though he's won his fair share of games.
Therefore, You CANNOT SPELL CITRUS WITHOUT USC. Bc that's about the best bowl game he's been too in seven/eight years. And he'll never do any better going forward. You reap what you sow.

The specific area you recruit in NC is closer to Columbia than it is to CH and quite frankly that pocket of NC pulls for USClite and nc state. Historically, you guys have always pulled guys out of the Sandhills/Coastal areas of NC bc of my exact reason. Don't act like it is something new bc of the small pocket of success you guys have had for four/five years.

(CBS 4 Miami)Just when it seemed the story of four-star running back Alex Collins not being able to sign his letter of intent with Arkansas because his mother would not let him couldn't get any weirder, it did.
Just before Collins announced he was carrying through with his plan and signed his letter of intent to play football at Arkansas, this time with his father's signature on the letter, Collins' mother Andrea McDonald hired an attorney, several outlets reported. A press release sent out said the law firm was hired to "represent the family's interests." Oh, and the law firm is the Cochran Firm, founded by the late Johnnie Cochran, famously O.J. Simpson's lawyer for his murder trial.
Collins showed up at his press conference, carried live by the CBS affiliate in Miami, to announce he was still signing with Arkansas wearing a full camouflage suit (because the event needed something more unusual about it) and said that his mother was OK with his decision to still commit to Arkansas, even though she wasn't there for the announcement.
Weird isn't enough to describe this ordeal anymore.
This story became the most bizarre of national signing day on Wednesday when ESPNU reported that Collins, who is from the Miami area, had decided to attend Arkansas but his mother stole his national letter of intent papers and went into hiding. Many reports said she wanted him to go to Miami because it's closer to home.
(CBS Miami)Collins, in an interview with CBS' Miami affiliate before his official announcement and signing, denied that his mother took his letter of intent papers, but she didn't sign right away because she wanted her son to feel comfortable with the decision.
"It was nothing like that," Collins told CBS 4 in Miami when asked about his mother taking off with the papers. "It was her wanting to give me more time."
When the reporter asked if his mother was OK with his decision to go to Arkansas even though she wasn't at his press conference, Collins said, "She's fine."
"I respect her and understand why she did it, to give me more time," Collins said.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Collins said his mother wasn't at the press conference because she was at work. The Sun-Sentinel also reported that Collins wasn't aware his mother had hired an attorney.
Collins signed his papers during a small press conference with his father, Johnny Collins, and other family members there. Johnny Collins was asked by CBS 4 Miami if he had anything to say to Alex's mother.
"Let him go," said Johnny Collins, who added that he supported Alex's decision. "Let him go."
Johnny Collins said he was disappointed Alex's mother wasn't at the press conference, and he tried calling Alex's mother but she would not answer the phone.
To his credit, Alex Collins handled the odd circumstances very well, staying upbeat during the interview and his announcement. After all, it is a big moment for him. Hopefully he ends up with great memories of his signing day and his decision turns out to be the best one for him and it doesn't cause problems within his family. He said that his mother's intervention wasn't necessarily because she didn't want him to go to Arkansas.

The kid has been recruited by Bielema for 2+ years. From Wisky to Arky. They didn't pay for him to go there. If anyone heard this kid talk on SportsSouth when he committed to Arky, he is a very well spoken and intelligent kid. Just observing how he handled this process while his mother embarrassed him nationally, the kid deserve a ton of credit. Mature beyond his years. Getting out of Miami is probably a smart decision for him. No, I don't know his mother personally but judging her actions (stealing the LOI, Hiding with the LOI, a Lawsuit over this situation) - his mother is a nut case, another reason to get out of Miami.

Just before Collins announced he was carrying through with his plan and signed his letter of intent to play football at Arkansas, this time with his father's signature on the letter, Collins' mother Andrea McDonald hired an attorney, several outlets reported. A press release sent out said the law firm was hired to "represent the family's interests." Oh, and the law firm is the Cochran Firm, founded by the late Johnnie Cochran, famously O.J. Simpson's lawyer for his murder trial.
Collins showed up at his press conference, carried live by the CBS affiliate in Miami, to announce he was still signing with Arkansas wearing a full camouflage suit (because the event needed something more unusual about it) and said that his mother was OK with his decision to still commit to Arkansas, even though she wasn't there for the announcement.
Weird isn't enough to describe this ordeal anymore.
This story became the most bizarre of national signing day on Wednesday when ESPNU reported that Collins, who is from the Miami area, had decided to attend Arkansas but his mother stole his national letter of intent papers and went into hiding. Many reports said she wanted him to go to Miami because it's closer to home.
"It was nothing like that," Collins told CBS 4 in Miami when asked about his mother taking off with the papers. "It was her wanting to give me more time."
When the reporter asked if his mother was OK with his decision to go to Arkansas even though she wasn't at his press conference, Collins said, "She's fine."
"I respect her and understand why she did it, to give me more time," Collins said.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Collins said his mother wasn't at the press conference because she was at work. The Sun-Sentinel also reported that Collins wasn't aware his mother had hired an attorney.
Collins signed his papers during a small press conference with his father, Johnny Collins, and other family members there. Johnny Collins was asked by CBS 4 Miami if he had anything to say to Alex's mother.
"Let him go," said Johnny Collins, who added that he supported Alex's decision. "Let him go."
Johnny Collins said he was disappointed Alex's mother wasn't at the press conference, and he tried calling Alex's mother but she would not answer the phone.
To his credit, Alex Collins handled the odd circumstances very well, staying upbeat during the interview and his announcement. After all, it is a big moment for him. Hopefully he ends up with great memories of his signing day and his decision turns out to be the best one for him and it doesn't cause problems within his family. He said that his mother's intervention wasn't necessarily because she didn't want him to go to Arkansas.
"She cares about me so much she doesn't want me to make the wrong decision," Alex Collins said.

After National Signing Day, the Alabama Crimson Tide once again boasted the nation's top recruiting class. One of that class's anchors was Reuben Foster, the five-star linebacker who notably got the Auburn logo tattooed on his leg before he de-committed.
Foster received lots of attention from the press after he announced on Wednesday that he was Bama-bound—he had apologized to Auburn, Alabama, and Georgia fanbases on Twitter. It was a good deal of focus to put on the thought process of any teenager, even by college sports standards. But the latest news mentioning Foster blows all of that out of the water:
Danny Foster, father of University of Alabama football signee Reuben Foster and a longtime fugitive out of Randolph (Ala.) County, was captured in Miami this morning, authorities said.Foster had escaped from the Randolph County jail in December 1996. The people he shot that year, according to police? His estranged wife, Inita Paige, and their 18-month-old son, whom she held in her arms—Reuben Foster.
The U.S. Marshals, the Roanoke Police Department and the Randolph County Sheriff's Office announced the 11 a.m. arrest of Foster, who has been on the run since 1996. Foster was wanted for assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling and escape, according to a press release issued today by the U.S. Marshals.

All I was passing along is what the Johnny Cochran Law Firm said it was gonna try - gonna see if there were any impermissible benefits awarded to Alex/father/handler and if there were not, they were gonna drop the case. If there were, they were gonna expose them (I bet urban Meyer would sit back and smile over that). It was not my personal view from afar. It was what I heard on a national news channel. Gonna be an interesting case if they unearth anything. college football + recruiting + SEC = 70/30 dirty/not dirty. The last sentence was my personal view.
As an aside, I'm not sure what Alex Collin's well spoken speech has to do with him and signing a LOI and whether anything shady went down? Bernie Madoff was well spoken and stole billions.
