Scent of a Woman
Lets get this show on the road.
Mens side will be a bit shaken up because Ferrer has received the 4th rank which means Roger Federer and Nadal are set to clash in the Quarter Finals. Djokovic has an easy draw and will face no real threat until at least the Quarters where it's just big servers who he can eat up alive. Andy Murray is coming off an injury and there will be high expectations for him as always. Just think he maybe a bit rusty.
Prop bets:
Rafael Nadal to win Wimbledon @ 5.90 (2u)
Novak Djokovic/Rafael Nadal Final? Yes @ 3.7 (1u)
Martin Del Potro to win 3rd Quarter @ 3.72 @ (1u)
Who will last longer? Nadal vs Murrary. Nadal @ 2.47 (5u)
if Nadal overcomes Federer, this title is his. He's currently 43-2 on the year, just an incredible run since returning from his injury. As mentioned above the possibility of a Nadal/Federer match in the Quarters will be his only real challenge. I can see Nadal being a favourite and maybe a good time to make a bit of a middle. Djokovic endured quite an emotional tournament at Roland Garros with the death of his mentor and childhood tennis coach. Murray can win this but just worried about his conditioning at this time. Fedex, as much as I love the guy he's going to play out of his mind to beat Nadal and lets say he does, Nadal will mentally challenge him and drain him, making him a victim for the next round.
On the Women's side, again this is a 2 horse race between Serena/Sharapova. To make this tournament more interesting, there's been a bit of personal battle between the two ladies with Serena making some comments about Sharapova's personal life and Masha lashing out back. Serena isn't the brightest gal out there but she can damn well play tennis. Crushed Sharapova in French, had only one game where she choked a bit but consumed everyone. Like Nadal, Serena is 43-2 this year and don't see why she should not tally another victory here. WOmen's tennis has taken a major step back and it's even worst then the men with only 3 players in this tournament that can be considered a threat. Outside Sharapova/Serena, Azarenka is one you'll see making a run. She's made the Semi's the last 2 years and could be a 3rd time running, she is in a relatively easier quarter with only Kvitova and Jankovic as her primary threat. From a betting prospective, the only real options you have that seem remotely valuable is to tail Azarenka and Sharapova, they both have quite a clear cut field, no real threat there. Radwanska's field is a landmine and I want to really avoid getting stuck there.
Props:
Victoria Azarenka to make Finals @ 3.15 (2u)
Maria Sharapova to make Finals @ 3.00 (2u)
Top British Ladies? Samantha Murray @ 14.5 (0.5u) Heather Watson @ 3.0 (1u)
