yes but the vaxx stuff from when he was at wazzu still follows him. quite frankly i am surprised that such a liberal institution like berkeley even allowed wilcox to hire him as an asst.

Yes, I alluded to that earlier as far as Cal goes. That shit should be way behind us and shouldn't stop the guy from getting a job. It's not like he was responsible for someone's death like Brian Kelly.

There's at least 5 smart AD's out there that would love to hire this guy. I'm not sure the rational thinking board of regents will get on board though. 🙄

Pry will make a good DC and don't forget he coached under JF at penn state for 8 seasons from 2014 thru 2021 so if you look at it from that lense is not as odd.

i wish bud foster could come back. i guess he is still there as an asst to the AD but man his defenses in the 90's and 2000's were just awesome.
 
I completely missed the Freeman to NYG rumor...

I guess only follow the college ranks rumors of who is going from school to school lol

The situation is wild, but he and Franklin and their families are tight.
Franklin discussed taking the VT job with Pry before he took it and Pry who could have sold VT out did not, so it is not too surprising.
Also, in his introductory press conference, Franklin got choked up when he started talking about Pry.

ODU needs to give their coach a raise or he could be the OC at VT. I think he is making less than $1 million/year now.
Franklin went to the ODU game the weekend that he agreed to be the next VT coach. I would assume he at least asked Rahne. Franklin also could have been looking at QB Joesph during that visit.

Franklin's contract is backloaded, since he is still making $9 million from Penn St, so he could throw $1.4 or $1.5 million to an OC.

It was reported that he went there to support Rahne and going there should, at a minimum, get Rahne a raise at ODU.

Bud Foster was and is still awesome. He was part of the coaching search and is still a defensive advisor for the team in addition to whatever role he has with the AD.
 
Virginia Tech is far and away the biggest winners of this coaching cycle and lets face it they can definitely challenge in that conference relatively quickly especially if Clemson and FSU don't get straightened out.

Getting your ass fired, cleaning out your office - only to return in a lesser capacity....is fucking weird - name another time this has happened?

So, he would have gotten $27.5 MILLION for not working. Now he works his ass off - for someone that just fired him - about $26M+ less....

edit: looks like his buyout is much less, but still....

Westwood has the money now. Believe me i am not happy about the hire because behind OU, the USC Trojans are my second favorite football squad to root for. I live 55 miles from the campus.

I just happen to think Chesney was a fantastic hire and I think they will do great things under his leadership.
 
This is all so crazy.

I was worried to death about the Bama game because I respect their program, their coaches, their players, so much.

They are a terrific team. Favored for a reason in Norman.

This distraction of KD's people supposedly talking to the UM people is exactly what the program does Not need right now as they prep for my Sooners.

This is just wild.
