DabollHas anyone heard any rumors at all regarding the Penn State opening which has to be the most low key big job search ever.
Sumrall probably isn't also extorting Tulane to get his wayA little different when it's a rival school in the same conference
Like AL Davis said at the time, he was a liar and a scumbag. A tiger can't change its stripes, but Ole Miss knew what they were getting into when they hired him. Great coach, yes. But you better be prepared for this.I was hoping with all those fluff pieces on Kiffin all season that he had changed and wasn't the scumbag he's always been but no he will always be a bad person.
So true. And both sides benefitted greatly from the hire.Like AL Davis said at the time, he was a liar and a scumbag. A tiger can't change its stripes, but Ole Miss knew what they were getting into when they hired him. Great coach, yes. But you better be prepared for this.
Doesn't feel like he needs to though ? They would just agree to it, right ?Sumrall probably isn't also extorting Tulane to get his way
Lane has a long standing reputation of being a terrible guy so he gets no benefit of the doubt.Just like politics and religion, I am trying to see all sides of a situation and where they are coming from. Took me a long-ass time to get here, but I'm finally here.
By the reports, Lane took a nuclear option here which I don't agree with but I still blame the system more than anything for this.
He's not helping it.
1,000%Lane has a long standing reputation of being a terrible guy so he gets no benefit of the doubt.
I don't think its a good hire at all but what coach with real options wants that job. I'm still in shock that Freeze ended up failing so bad there after having such good results at his prior stops.
Bully move. The POTUS would be proud of the power play. Not saying it's right or wrong. Just being honest.
Several staff members are not going. And notice how none of the defensive staff is mentioned as leaving. Kiffin wanted Golding to leave but Pete told him it wasn’t happening earlier in the week. He may or may not told Kiffin to suck it in so many words. Kiffin is a douchebag whose won NOTHING. That’s “who the eff he is”. Not even a top five coach. Wake up Majent.Bully move. It was a "do you know who the eff i am?" Move.
Nothing like this dbag having 40+ days to figure this out, then giving his assistants and hour to decide. F off you narcissistic POS.
I wonder if he will take his QB with him. He's better than any QB Auburn hasGolesh to Auburn
I don't know where he'll end up, but I've always thought Golding will make a great HC.Several staff members are not going. And notice how none of the defensive staff is mentioned as leaving. He must be endearing himself to the Ole Miss faithful with how he is handling the situation.I don't know where he'll end up, but I've always thought Golding will make a great HC.
Well, he's a grown up and a professional. Unlike his bossHe must be endearing himself to the Ole Miss faithful with how he is handling the situation.
Ole Miss--or any school for that matter--could enforce the contract and stop the coach from coaching at another school. Contracts like the one coaches sign are enforced every day in the business and entertainment world. In fact, college football is the only business in the country I can think of that allows successful employees under contract to ignore the contract and leave. If situations like these are not built into contracts (school makes CFP but head coach is signing with another school) they will be built into contracts moving forward.
Lots of changes may come from this situation.
The calendar is definitely the cause of most of these issues. You have the draft (signing day), free agency (portal), and coaching hires all happening during the playoffs. It's insaneI’ve been out of the country for a week so obviously have missed a lot, but I think the messed up calendar we have today is the root cause of most of this.
It wasn’t long ago that it was normal for a coach to finish the season with his current school before leaving, and the new school was okay with it because as long as everything was in place in January they could prepare for signing day in February. Now with the early signing period and the transfer portal window the new school needs them in place asap unless they’re willing to accept a year 0 situation with a completely decimated roster, and there aren’t many P4 schools willing to do that.
I'm quite frankly proud of how ISU has handled the entire process. Campbell rumors fizze every year and I attribute it to the atmosphere and the AD who is incredible at knowing the ceiling at what he has to sellJust from an outsider perspective I can't think of a worse "big" job than Auburn.
You assume we'll be alive in 10 yearsIs it even possible 5-10 years from now comments from this thread will seem silly and biased? Sure doesn't seem like it. The future is already written it seems.
A week or two ago many wanted him to stay. Now it seems like he was the most hated winner in school history. Took 40 years but now Im starting to see the origin of GEAUX TO HELL OLE MISS! May the rivalry renew with annual appointments.
Thats the first time for me seeing what Golding looks like and he's giving me homeless Patricia like vibes.
Fitzgerald is an excellent coach I like this hire a lot.Pat Fitzgerald to Sparty
