Wednesday MLB Discussion

must still be feeling the aftershock of what the jays did to him:smiley_acbe:
Gsro,

I have to tip my cap for your warning about Cabrera :tiphat:yesterday. We both broke even on the total, :smiley_acbe: but in my case, I needed the money after the bath I took on him! What is your opinion on total today in Baltimore?:shake:

The only thing i can trust the A's to do consistently is to not score runs. a 7.5 doesnt scare me with this team, but dallas braden does. As long as he pitches 6 with 2-3er, this one should go under though.. but that's giving a lot of credit.

Probably playing the Angels tonight. I don't believe they go on a losing streak. Weaver had a fairly decent outing last time despite going 5 2/3, the situation dictated a specialty pitcher more then his pitch count. His main problem has been controlling his pitches to avoid the middle of the plate and he has seemed to do that the last few. He is also pretty damn good at recognizing "clutch" away games and showing up for the challenge. Look at the boston espn sunday night game and a few others that he has done well on the road. He has proven that he can shut down powerful lineups. Garza is a pretty promising prospect but the consistency isnt there. With the load of switch hitters and LHBs the angels have, i would expect no less then 4 runs off of Garza.

wouldn't exactly call this a "find" by any means, but just for shits & giggles...

Prop - Most bases
Corey Hart (-115) over Hunter Pence (-115)

C.Hart 9/20 w/ 2B, HR vs Wandy
H.Pence 3/11 w/ 2B vs Parra

Hart hitting 61/221 (.276), .462 SLG at home
Pence hitting 64/239 (.268), .417 SLG on road

Hart hitting 22/70 (.314, 8 extra-base) for August
Pence hitting 14/71 (.197, 7 extra-base) for August

Hart hitting 37/125 (.296, 14 x-base) against lefties
Pence hitting 33/125 (.264, 10 x-base) against lefties

Hart hitting 9/29 (4 x-base) in the past 7 games
Pence hitting 3/25 (2 2B) in the past 7 games

Hart bats 5th, Pence bats 6th (though given a Mil W, the stros would get an extra half inning)

Proverbial coin-flip, really, but a little bored and taking the slightly hotter player. Who wants to throw away some euros with me?

Since returning from the disabled list, Francisco Liriano is 3-0 with a 1.45 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. He has held the opposition to a .167 batting average. Minnesota has won the 3 games by 6 (SEA), 4 (@ KAN), and 4 (CLE). Oakland is hitting .180 against left-handers in their last 10 games.
expecting liriano to be sharp against an already impotent lineup. ellis lead off guy hitting .176 against lefties. suzuki hitting 2nd and hits only .240, quite the contrast since his total ba is .291. mauer is out he is hitting .384 against lefties (ridiculous) and his presence alone makes a pitcher work harder. bottom of twins lineup looks a little lean this afternoon. braden has shown some capability going 7 innings twice in his last 2 starts (CWS, DET). had some 1st inning trouble against the white sox but calmed down after. so on and so forth, twins win but this has all the makings of a close, low-scoring game.

Oakland - Minnesota under 7.5 -108

also, i have seen a few people highlight liriano's 0-2, 12.96 ERA against oakland... fwiw:

the '08 start was when he was having all sorts of issues and went only 2/3 inning giving up 6 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks. in 2006, he pitched 4 innings of scoreless relief allowing only 2 hits and striking out 7. in 2005, he was a september call up and those stats are rather meaningless

Yanks in game 2 of a 3 or 4 game road series after losing the first game. 2-7. If Toronto wins they tie the Yankees and can take the lead tomorrow.

Posted this last nite if anyone missed it -

lean- Twinkies ML - Hate the price and hate fading Braden but think Liriano 0 earned in 2 starts at home is in a great spot with Nathan to follow

A's away vs LHSP 5-14(WINS BOLDED) Runs scored

1 4 2 0 1 3 7 4 1 5 2 2 0 0 3 1 2 1 9

The wins 4-2 vs Rogers to end there losing streak , 7-1 vs Buerhle when WS where streakin sort of an caught off guard type loss , 5-1 vs Zito big deal IL play and the AL won , 2-1 vs Buerhle and the 9 spot vs CC when he was more like Dana Eveland. So the past 4 wins vs LH away were unders and the CC start is useless as a reference..

Thats 14 of 19 3 runs or less and 12 have 2 runs or less ! Injuries have played a role losing Hurt for awhile who I believe has good day splits but still..

0 runs = 3x
1 run = 5x
2 runs = 4x
3runs = 2x
4 runs = 2x
5 ,7 , 9 = once each

Twins at home vs LHSP 16-4 (Losses bolded) Runs scored

11 7 4 10 6 7 14 4 9 6 1 7 2 2 6 7 7 0 4 0

So Twins won 10 straight at home vs LHSP 12 of 13 and15 of 17 ...
There loss vs Parra 5-1 , 3-2 Olsen of Balt , Lee 4-0 and Suanders 1-0 with the 1st two in April...

Some inferiors LHSP of lately as well though ...

So UNDER-OAK parlay worth a shot as a safety longshot play...

4 of 5 A's wins away vs LHSP were UNDERS as were all 4 Twins losses at home...

Liriano in a few starts has struggled vs Oak but this year could be explained by his quick return......

Gsro,

Hey man, we're all on the same team here..ya i didn't get a chance to see the game that much, just saw youkilis' homerun, but did the sox leave men stranded?

Clay Bucholz is 2-1 lifetime with a 2.12 era versus baltimore. this season, he is 0-1 with a 7.20.. when he is away from fenway Clay Bucholz is 0-6 with a 8.18 era

Chris Waters in his young career is currently 1-0 with a 4.50 era and at home he's 0-1 with a 13.50 era (i think from last year against texas)..i'm leaning on the over 11 here

mix that with the orioles current run on going over and those two pitchers going at it..total seems to be the play for me.

On Thursday, the Twins will be starting a tough 14-game road trip, which lasts through the first week in September due to the Republican National Convention being held in the Twin Cities

Makes today huge IMO

So really couldnt get very involved in the Twins-A's games kept getting sidetracked to think clearly ....played 1/2 unit on the UNDER 4 1st 5 inn and trying for a middle Twins ML -260 vs Oak +1.5 +110 for .75 units each....

Just hate the TWINS total was bet down from 8 to 7.5 with under vig ....and well Twins lineup kinda thin and doesnt hit much in the day with Liriano's bad "karma" vs Oak made the price to heavy for me ...

So far and go to page 1 here if your interested on MILW ML and even -1.5 RL . Later so far locked in the Yanks but -1.5 RL.

Took 48 cents with Toronto. Yanks 7-13 last 20 away and more recently 3-9. Toronto at home last 20 13-7. Andy 2-5 last 5 away and on something of a losing streak. Toronto on 3rd game of 28 vs playoff contenders hoping to burn back into competition and the Toronto pitcher a leftie who Ivan had 3 at bats vs and every other Yankee zip. Yanks 3-8 last 11 on the road vs lefties.

Anybody notice the trend here when these 2 teams matchup?

i think hes showin how pit will win the st louis wins then pit then st louis.. so st louis is up tonight

SN....Any thoughts on Halos tonight...Kinda feel like Rays got lucky last night. Shields(Angels) came in throwing wild and blew the game it really wasnt even a ralley by Rays he just blew the game with walks.

Amazing how lucky Tanpa gets at home. Tampa 16-4 last 20 at home and 8 of last 9 to Angels 11-9 and 1 of last 7 away.

haven't been around in a while but I swept the afternoon games so I thought I would post my night plays.
Earlier plays : 2 team parlays - Minny ML/ Un 8, Milky ML/ Un 9, Cws ML/ Ov 10
4 team parlay : Min -1.5/ Mil/Hou Un 9.5/ Cws ML/ Cws/Sea ov 10

Tonight, I'm going with dogs as opposed to my favorite afternoon.
2 team parlays : Was ML/ Ov 8.5 , fatty dog here. the line is heavily taxed due to myers recent resurgence. he has been pitching well, but it is still myers and washington actually hits him pretty well w/ the exception of slick willie harris but he is pretty hot so i think he can contribute tonight as well. philly is not hot at all and washington is in desperation mode to end this losing streak. i'm not expecting balester to shut out the phils but i think washington puts up some runs tonight and philly falls short. washington blew the game last night. i bet on philly last night -.5 1st 5 innings and it lost as the last leg of a 4 team parlay for me.. i was fuckin pist. i want some money back from this series and ill take my chances w/ the nasty boys.

my other parlay is
atl ML/ un 8.5 : don't worry phil fans i dont think you'll lose ground if you lose to the nats. i think JJ is still pitching his ass off. pelfrey is hit or miss and the braves are still playing for pride and want to knock off their division rival which they have done to the mets this year. both times JJ has pitched against the mets he went against pelfrey and he won both times so why not make it 3? i like the fact that JJ starts well because mets are all about scoring in the 1st inning and then not scoring for the next 4-6 innings. i think atl can jump out to an early lead and hold on tonight. both pitchers are solid and ill try the under in this division rival battle.

GL to you all.

While I don't have much faith in Ghastly Nate, this is more of a play on Detroit as a whole and certainly a fade of Texas who is 2-11 in their last 13 games. Also, Millwood simply doesn't have it. His return from the disabled list (spent 3 weeks on it), was catastrophic as he went 4.2 innings allowing 10 hits, 5 runs, and 4 homers. Texas is 0-4 in Millwood's last 4 starts as the veteran right-hander has allowed a staggering 33 hits in 18 innings (9.00 ERA, 2.28 WHIP). Rangers' relief pitching is far worse than Detroit's, I think. Slight edge to Texas because of the home factor, but other than that Texas looks like more of a fade than a back, especially at + odds, for the remainder of the season. Detroit is 7-0 this year when given the chance to sweep.

Detroit (Robertson) +112

Does the line not throw you off? If this is the case, and it is because everything you said above is factual, why is Texas laying twenty cents? Homefield is not worth that much.

doesn't throw me off at all, I think Detroit has a good shot tonight. linesmakers seem to give Millwood and specifically Texas a lot of credit at home. last week Garza was catching +105 which I thought was a joke. in Millwood's previous two home starts before that he was catching only 105 against Danks (CWS) on 7/12 and 105 against Sabathia (CLE) on 6/5. Those lines were baffling as well. Texas has fallen off a lot since then. Milton Bradley has been in and out of the lineup, David Murphy has been out for some time, and now Kinsler is on the disabled list.

good luck to those on Kansas City - simply can't back that team especially on the road as a favorite. Lance Broadway contained them - no reason Zach Jackson, no matter how bad he is, can't.

About the Yanks today-

Actually alot of reasons why I feel NY is in a great spot today ....

1- Yesterday's game - I didnt watch but would imagine Burnett was filthy from the boxscore . Funny how is he always ON when facing NY despite some recent struggles . Anyway So Burnett is throwing a gem ....8 inn 5h 1 r 1 bb 12Ks how is Tor not crusing in this game vs a spot starter Darrell Rasner ??? Very bad sign for Tor they need some breaks to win this game IMO . Also Yanks again handed another close game away . Where do I start ?

1st inn - Walk , K , Double now 1-0 , Arod and Giambi both K . Tip your hat to Burnett but a chance to get some runs off him even if u just plate 2 runs .

4th inn - Leadoff double by Abreu (again!) , Arod Ks , Giambi Ks and Nady groundout ! Said perfectly on the radio today all you need is Arod to hit the ball the opposite way and a fly ball from Giambi . Not much to ask . Instead again 2 more ks . Arod is the big culprit IMO because he was the guy who could have hit situational . Once he fails more pressure on Giambi to deliver IMO ..more emphasis on a hit then situational obviously in the 4th..

5th inn- Nothing big but a 2out single by Pudge and he steals 2nd base. So now Damon recently the leading hitter in the AL before a slide cant get a hit . Another opp wasted IMO.....

6th inn- Leadoff single by Jeter , Abreu doesnt get a hit this time but after 2 doubles vs AJ on this nite cant expect much IMO , Arod K and then Giambi K !

Thats now 3 times ARod has been up with a man on base and 1 out or less and he did ZIPP!!!!Giambi could have been clutch especially in the 1st and 6th but ZIP !

7th inn - Leadoff single by X , again no follow up ...K , groundout , K !

So after numerous chances to make this a 2,3,4 -0 game the Jays FINALLY got to Rasner who cruised from 2 through 6 and get a 3-2 solo Hr by Lind ....

Now hate to 2nd guess Girardi AGAIN but why does he opt for Veras over Marte ? When Marte arrived he did nothing but use him in key spots like he was the second coming of Billy Wagner circa 1999...Stairs a LH and obviously Key atbat then 2 RHBs in Barajas and McDonald who wouldnt concern me much and the key hitter IMO Inglett a LH. Okay veras did well so then why not in a tie game (MUST WIN everyday situation) use Marte to face Inglett ? You have Edwar and Robertson to call on in the 9th . Now cant complain about an error mislabeled a double off Veras but we played ZERO situational baseball IMO . To be frank I dont expect a change in philosophy in game 130 or whatever it is..so I dont expect a change but another Yankee WIN pissed away and turned into a LOSS IMO! Even with Burnett dealing Yanks had many more chances then Tor to do something especially after the 1st inning!

9th inn- Arod leadoff single thrown out trying to stretch into a 2 bagger . ANother ARod blunder . Remember the caught stealing @ LAA last Sunday ?? Another great decision by him ...trying to be the HERO ! Now I didnt see the game or play so I cant comment much but pretty safe to say regardless safe or out , regardless if looked easy ....your always taught not to get thrown in those situations ..its not dont make the 1st out at 3rd rule but its really the same logic...

So IMO regardless of being a Yankee fan strip the team names and look at the breakdown off the game its seems pretty clear that despite the HUGE SP difference NY had the better chances to win but failed to execute and like it always does when you let a team HANG AROUND in sports they find a way to win ESPECIALLY when they are at home. Maybe if Yanks are home they still win like on SAT but they arent and didnt !

2- Andy Pettitte - Today is a cross point for him IMO. He went through a rough patched where he struggled for a few games especially vs GOOD teams ..see Bos and LAA ...Now he has consecutive good efforts under his belt which he should won BOTH but lost BOTH 4-3 . The cross road is this I DOUBT he pitches well and loses again...HIGHLY DOUBT ...he will either WIN here or get shelled. Now looking at what Tor has done at home offensively lately combined with what they have done vs LHP all season. being shelled seems unlikely .

His last outing @ Tor was shaky but it was also AIDED by a 3 run blast by YANKEE KILLER ( he is look it up !!) Marcuro Scaturo . Which Pettitte I said previously seemed hyperfocused on the fact the roof was open that day and how the ball would carry. It was a beautiful sunny day (as was the previous game Rasner vs Litsch) . Anyway read the post game comments Pettitte was baffled how Scutaro not only hit the pitch but got enough LOFT on it to get it out the park....READ BEWTEEN THE LINES ---He saying he hit a tough pitch that got into the wind and just carried out ...

Key for him as I have said about Andys success is NO Hrs allowed past 2 starts ...only ONE the Scutaro supposedly wind aided HR in 2008 in 5 starts vs them. Mostly singles last two starts vs him and would say half of the hits were flares ...

Andy Pettitte (L) Previous Starts vs. Toronto

Basically the starts vs Tor look solid . He labored a bit on 8/06 @ Tor as he did his most recent @ Tor . The 4-1 loss late was just a flat spot for NYY as it was a Monday afternoon game which was a makeup (added on to that series in leu of a day off) . Not excuse but think the Yanks didnt show up and he pitched fairly well ...in the 5 starts TOR scored 4 or less and the pen is rested for NYY...

Tor vs LHSP -
W4-3 @ fading DET vs Gambler ...all runs on a 3rd inn GS by Wells...decent effort by Gambler

L0-4 vs CLe and LEE ...8inn 8 h 0rns 0bb 1k....

W 5-1 vs Gio Gonzalez in his ML debut ....surrenders 4h 4 r in6 inninsg(2bb -4K)...key 3 run 1st inn Hr by Barajas ...little afterwards....rookie 1st inn jitters ??

W4-3 vs Greg Smith ...A's pen allows 2 in the b9th to lose ....Smith 6 inn 4h 2r 2bb 4k

L1-5 vs Washburn .....Washbrun 8inn 4 h 1 r 2bb 2k 1hr

Only LHSP they hit was Garrett Olson recently demoted to the pen for poor pitching so not real relevant IMO . Also must ackowledge that Wells was absent for awhile and is now back. Seems lie most runs for Jays off LHP have come off HRS (even in the Pettitte start before the break)

Now in fairness Yanks are 1-6 past 7 away vs LHSP but lose 6 straight since Pettitte defetaed Johan 3-2 . So there has been some issues hitting LHSP and there is always issues hitting with MOB...

Lost to Perkins 4-0 , Saunders 4-3 (v Pettitte) , Harrison 6-8 (embarassing but somewhat misleading , they hit some peas off the kid right at guys and repeatedly hit or lined into DPs killing early rallies ...typical yanks !) , Lester 9-2 and seems like Yanks facing LHP after tough losses while here @ Fenway to avoid the sweep with Ponson and his horible track record there ...again Lester had struggles but escaped jams) , Maholm 4-2 in a makup game (home vs TB , @ pitt , followed by Halladay @ Tor on Friday) , @ Shea vs Ollie Perez -Yankee killer they lost 3-1 with Rasner as Mets avoid sweep.....

Again they werent exactly beaten these days and they twice were going for road sweeps , three times had come off tough losses like yesterday though ( Perkins followed Saunders and the LAA sweep after the grounder finds a hole off Mo in the b9th , Harrison game was after marte allows walkoff GS to Byrd , oh and the Saunders start after the Yankee meltdown late blowing 3-0 lead ) and the sandwiched IL makeup game....

So maybe its just there M.O. and it wont change today ........I think Jays struggles are JUST as obvious and bad vs LHSP ...who would you rather have Pettitte vs Jays lineup or Purcey vs Yanks lineup ?? Is the kid possibly overwhelmed in his 1st start vs NY? Hard to say as he has been cery solid IMO but hurt at times by the HR ball....

3- Lastly situational...With Halladay on deck it places huge emphasis to win here . Yanks ae 1-5 in 2008 vs Burnett and Halladay but 4-0 vs the other SP which is why I see Jays as a FAKE contender despite similiar records . In 2007 L10 meetings bewteen the two teams when AJ or Doc deals Yanks 0-3 and when they dont 6-1 . Which makes NY 10-1 L11 vs Tor w/o there ACES dealing ...in the early 07 games teams split 4-4 ...Jays won 3-2 twice w/o there aces vs NY sneaking by vs pettitte and Wang with Marcum and McGowan , Tor won the lone start with Burnett and another when DelSalvo opposed them.....and Yanks won 3-2 vs Halladay in extras......

So in 07-08 Yanks 13-4 vs Tor facing anyone but Doc or AJ and 1 loss had DeSalvo starting , 2 loses were 3-2 and the other was the Sept makeup game with pettitte vs Litsch 4-1 .....and Yanks 2-9 vs Jays when either Doc or AJ deal, both 3-2 wins vs Doc ...

Halladay deals tmrw vs Ponson but possible bad start for him IMO ....Ponson has done well in domes or indoors in his career but Halladay has not done well @ Home when on normal rest in 2008 which he is here...last time it occurred vs Tribe....still he likes facing NYY...but think NY still has a better then 50% chance of winning this series.....

Since NY started slumping after the Fenway series when it looked like we were about to takeoff we have LOST ALL 7 series openers!!!!

Balt , LAA , @ Tex , @ LAA , @ Minny , vs KC , @ Tor yesterday.....unfortunately they are just 2-4 in those Game 2s...but 2-4 is better then 0-7 as BC would say !All season 10-9 away in Game 2s and 9-6 if its a 2 or 3 games series....

Yanks 46-17 L63 Wed games , 48-19 past 3 seasons and 13-6 in 2008.
Jays 8-11 after 3 consecutive wins in 08 but 16-31 past 3 seasons in that spot...
Jays 8-11 Weds in 08 and 34-34 past 3 seasons.....

Total trends not suprisingly point to the UNDER with each team struggling vs LHP...

UNDER trends--Tor
35-22 UND @ home
11-6 UND @ Home 9 or 9.5 total
20-11 UND vs LHSP
13-5 UND on Wed
48-32 UND @ Night
20-20 Divsional PLAY
11-5 UND Aug and 46-25 past 3 August
30-16 UND past 3 season after 3 straight wins

FOr NYY-
12-7 UND on WED/ 40-25 UND past 3 seasons
29-17 in Divsion

22-13 UND vs LHP / 69-49 UND past 3 seasons
11-6 UND in Aug

Yansk avg 4.3 runs vs LHP and Jays 3.4 ...imagine though Yanks less on the road and Jays higher at home....

Others-

Yansk 17-5 L22 after opponent scores 2 or less
Yanks 24-7 L31 WED starts with Pettitte
Jays are 35-17 L52 at home vs a LHSP but also
26-10-2 UNDER L38 at home v LHSP!

Yanks 7-3 L10 with DeMuth
Road teams won 7 straight with DeMuth and 19-8 so far in 2008
Jays 1-5 L6 with DeMuth.....

Pettitte 4-0 from 06 to present with DeMuth but 3-1 over and 7-1 over in 8 lifetime
Jays lost last 4 at home with DeMuth and 2-6 L8 with him....

One thing that could hurt Purcey is his walk issues vs NY if they choose to be patient ...Which is huge because just about every jays reliever outside of Tallet has below avg stats vs NYY in there career which can be misleading but feel NY has that edge today as well.......

So Yanks ML and RL-1.5 comfortable with either . LEan to the UND but seems its getting hit down and probably means I avoid it.......

For price peeps last time Pettitte came to Tor he was basically the same price as here and opposed AJ Burnett ! Think 145 to 150 range and here low to mid 160s...which would you choose to back him ??????

BOL ...at least MILW cashed ML and RL but dicey at times !! Overthought the twins game....as the stats stated UNDER and TWINS!! Fucked up SEA v White SOX should have played Sox-1.5 RL and Over 1st 5 inn and game but opted for SEA 1st 5 inn ML , SEA 1st score and 1st inn score YES Props......oh well .......

good luck to those on Kansas City - simply can't back that team especially on the road as a favorite. Lance Broadway contained them - no reason Zach Jackson, no matter how bad he is, can't.

Prefer CLE myself . Meche has not pitched well last few times out and probably should have lost to Minny , Boston and NYY ...definetly should have lost vs Minny and NYY IMO......KC has Olivo back which helps vs LH but Grudz out still hurts ...KC all or nothing offense as well vs LHSP.....Really thought Meche was hittable vs NYY just had a good fastball and no breaking pitches or offspeed stuff minus 2 he threw perfectly at the right time....

Basically like SEA yesterday .....not sure if I play it....:shake::cheers:

pigeon - I had Texas locked in at -112 and their TT over 6. . . and then I started digging deeper like you did, and cancelled the bet by taking Det back at +112 (matchbook rules) just because of so many question marks and the recent bad run for Texas. Gun to my head now, I'd probably take Detroit, but I kept my Texas TT over 6 and I'm gonna leave it at that. . . Just feels like another 8-7 type game, but I can't lay absurd juice on an 11.5 line either. GL with Detroit

random info

this month:

Boggs hitting .186 (43 AB)
Young hitting .264 (72 AB)
Hamilton hitting .262 (61 AB)
Bradley hitting .227 (22 AB)
Byrd hitting .429 (70 AB)
Laird hitting .180 (61 AB)
Davis hitting .224 (67 AB)
Metcalf hitting .207 (29 AB) - .130 against lefties on the season
Vazquez hitting .241 (41 AB)

Texas is without

Kinsler - .319, 18 HR, 71 RBI, 26 SB
Murphy - .275, 15 HR, 74 RBI, 7 SB

not a fan of Detroit or Robertson at all, can't remember the last time I placed a bet on Detroit honestly. has to be at least 2 months ago. Texas just has some major issues and they are looking more like Seattle everyday.

SN....Any thoughts on Halos tonight...Kinda feel like Rays got lucky last night. Shields(Angels) came in throwing wild and blew the game it really wasnt even a ralley by Rays he just blew the game with walks.

Havent looked at the SP matchups yet ( know its Weaver vs Garza but nothing specific off top of my dome)

Thing is Shields is declining in 2008 and dont see it is that unusual and KRod been a bit shaky lately as well. Spier hittable leaving Arrendondo as there best reliever option IMO...Important with Weaver struggling to go inn lately especially away and believe avg 5.5 inn on the road...

Rays have that good karma working ...whats it now 43-10L53 @ home ...about85% !!

LAA is 0-5 @ TB and last year 1-2 winning the sweep game 3-0.

Garza 2.47 ERA at HOME Weaver 4.89 ERA away.....

Undecided the only thing that would make me take is LAA is avoiding the series and would assume season sweep @ TB. LAA is so overrated IMO. They got HOT looked great like every team HOT does but everyone forgot there offensive woes for 2.5 months...still a team with 1 300 hitter in Kendrick who missed alot of time and TEX is borderline.....Not trusting of TB pen either...Wheeler available ?Think he saved 3 straight...Weacer 2 starts vs TB both very solid...

As long as PUBLIC PERCEPTION thinks LAA is better then they are and continues to see value in a slumping team hard for me to not want to fade them. Especially when they are near even money vs a team who has won 85% of there home games going back 3 months !

Agree-- some alarming BB totals for Meche lately. 14 in 3 games.

Thoughts on the under in NY with campos bhp? Has already been hit down, trying to decide whether to jump in..

any comment on DET/TEX nut?

Not really. Basically think you have it right . Just hate sweep games but LOVE the 7-0 stat which shows DET doesnt let up (even if it justs mentally by certain teams) when they have a sweep at hand.

Texas vs LHP always a nice fade ...

Millwood HUGE ?? mark as you mentioned....(though DET terrible away vs RHSP)

Murphys absence has been huge as we can see a clear decline offense from that Yankee game IMO. Worse is Hamilton has cooled off since early June and Bradley probably scuffling some from alot of time out of the lineup (just 8 games played since 7-29 ) and losing his rhythmn. Davis had a good game but seemed like he had hit a wall recently w/o researching ...Kinslers absence hurt as he has been better then Young IMO...

Bradley 1hr 6 rbi since break in 59abs as to 260abs prebreak 19hr 57rbi...about 1/4the abs and nowhere near similiar production ...would be like 5hrs and 27rbi if you prorated itto 269abs.....steep dropoff..
Update: Bradley left Tuesday’s game against the Tigers in the bottom of the seventh inning due to left knee soreness

Hamilton 14-61 after May ended .327ish since 14 53 278ish....

Texas past 10 games - take out the 2 games vs young SP which was BP squared and the Tigers pen meltdown the other day your left with 7 games with 4 or less runs...3x shutout and 2x each 3 and 4 runs ....or 14 runs in 7 games .....
Young a down year with 720ish OPS since April ended and 660s since break....

Millwood some previous success vs DET but hasnt faced them in 2008....

Robertson 3-1 @ Texas lifetime with respectable stats.....

Hard to like Texas here IMO ...Det or pass......

Alright GL bro. have to figure out what I am playing got to play hoops 2t 7:15 and 8:15 wont be back for awhile.....

Lots of trends point to it if you see the end of my last NYY post. Is it Campos or DeMuth ? Dont pay close attention and Blankets had DeMuth listed . If there is a change obviously UMP trends I posted are irrelevant !

Yanks arent hitting especially away and especially away vs LHSP..jays are 14-3 UND L17 at home ...L4 scored 2,0,2,2 before that vs OAK mostly pen runs 6,5,4 , 6 , vs TB 2,0,3....

Think Jays score 3 or less here not sure about NYY could see 5 or 6-3 or 5-2...not much for an over play outside of thinking there is just to much under money out there....

Hard to see the value in an over @ Balt ...

Sox w/o Lowell and Drew becaue of injury also rest Varitek for Cash but maybe thats a wash these days. Balt rests Millar and not sure of Montanez vs RHB...

Bucholz is searching for sure but his work vs Balt is sound. Granted just 1 2008 start but it was okay 5h 4 h 4r but 5bbs / 6ks...

I took the angels =[

I know of tampa's home record, just dont think the angels can stand to get swept on the road for the season..
