Blue Jays look very tempting tomrorrow. Dustin has been getting dusted lately boasting a 9.35 ERA in his last 4 games. On the other hand, Marcum has been domoniating with a 40 record 2.36 ERA. Blue Jays have won 7 out of 8 times vs the angels at home. Great stats....so what gives??

Marcum has a 6.03 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, over his last 6 home starts. He's been much more impressive over his last 6 road starts by comparison (1.49 ERA, 0.87 WHIP)

Braves and the OVER... Russ Ortiz is back.. this guy has made me more money than any other pitcher.. I'll fade him every chance i get

all stats based on opening lines

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Houston enters Wednesday's game vs LA having won 3 straight games following a loss, for the 9th time this season. Following their previous 8 instances, they are 2-6 SU, conceding an average of 7.00 runs to their opponents (pretty much explains the SU record, and their O/U 6-2 mark, for said games).

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Favourites are 11-2 SU in LAA's last 13 games.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Through their last 28 games, the losing team in Toronto's contests have only once scored more than 4 runs (and then, 5). The losing team averages 1.89 runs in these games, which explains TOR's U/O 22-6 mark - losing teams simply arent contributing anywhere near their share to Toronto's totals.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Colorado averages 5.42 team runs the game after being shut out this season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

San Diego is 5-4 SU, U/O 5-4, conceding an average of 3.44 runs, at home off shutting a team out this season.

San Diego is 7-3 SU, U/O 5-4-1, conceding an average of 3.70 runs, off a win by 7 or more runs this season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

San Fran's last 8 road losses have been by 1, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 2 & 1 run margins.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

In going 1-8 SU in their last 9 home games, the Cleveland Eskimos cold bats have averaged 2.55 runs/game, while they've conceded an average of 5.22 runs/game.

I am beginning to like Baltimore +131

Boston/TB -- this is the 3rd time TB has faced Dice-K this season. Will the third time be a charm? It was brought to my attention that teams get to Dice-K the 2nd and 3rd time playing him. I'm trying to convince myself on the TB ML but something about putting money on Sonnanstine and the TB pen screams "don't"

They can't make the Cubbies line expensive enough tonight...

Reds are just a flat joke vs the crafty type lefties (ala Moyer, Lilly, etc)

Reds have five hits in 13 inns off Lilly this year w/ an eye popping 19 K's...

Blue Chip, IMO a team like Tampa is good for 1 or 2 winning efforts on the road at a venue like Fenway (or the Bronx, etc). Whether they actually win with such efforts doesnt matter to me, its whether the effort was there. I'd say I've seen such efforts in both the games played so far in this series. So from my POV, I don't expect to see a 3rd straight, and the fact the pitching mismatch on paper plays into such an expectation is simply coincidence. No matter what was on paper, I'd hold the same perception.
Their previous visit to Boston was the same: 1st 2 games lost 1-4 & 5-7, 2 decent efforts which at least could have yielded 1 win. Then a more typical effort from them came forth in the last game, losing 4-15. (Further example? latest series at the Bronx: won 14-4, lost 3-7 (the 2nd hardly a non effort)... then lost game 3: 5-17, & game 4: 4-21).
They dont have the resources, or fortitude, to sustain "winning efforts" on the road against teams of this calibre, unless something is internally wrong with that opposing team, injuries/conflict/meltdown mode, none of which are present with the RSox. While they did go 2-2 in Detroit recently, and in both their losses might have stolen wins, Detroit was dealing both injuries and a meltdown mode.

Thats my take.

TB +1.5 would be the only play but no way in hell would I take TB with their history in Boston or against Boston. I believe TB has packed it in. Just watching the 1st two games was enough for me. They have aenough young talent but lack the pieces to the puzzle. Bet is right when he says this team has no "fortitude". Add to the fact that the Yanks are on Boston's ass and it seems like TB is a no play. I love playing big dogs but this is not one of them. The way baseball has been watch TB win 5-3. lol

nice hit, Blue Chip. I'm not about to change my "template" that I expounded on (since it's stood the test of time), but I have to give credit to Tampa for such an effort.
