US open

Something about the Alcaraz kid I haven't warmed up to yet. He's an incredible athlete and has worked incredibly hard in his short time to get to where he is, but he seems a little cocky for my tastes. But I guess that's what most fans like these days. I was rooting for Medvedev all match.

It's been 29 years since the dog last won a 3-set women's US Open final.

It's also been 29 years since the last 1st set winner lost the final.

Whether Gauff's workload is finally catching up with her is hard to tell. But the fact is the player of the two here who didn't involve herself in doubles, is the one kicking ass currently.

I recall the fact Sabalenka has lost numerous big matches (mainly semis) after winning the 1st set, but to be fair to her most of those came before she fixed her service motion/DF problems.

Could be, the draining effort of having to win those two tiebreaks in must-win situations takes it's toll on Sabalenka here. That inertia vs all the hours Coco's logged on court. The latter seems to be an energizer bunny at this point.
