Honestly though, if he doesn't get so stunned that he can't fight back, I think that shot would have woken Silva up and he would've gotten more serious about the fight.

I agree. Anderson comes back in the next fight and runs thru him. He was starting to take the fight over after the initial takedown.

DW & Fertitas offered AS a 10 fight deal and he said "whatever's!"

After hearing AS post fight, seemed like he didn't care if he lost...maybe like passing the torch to Weidman. It would've been interesting to see him take it seriously. But, what a way to end your reign! Just like his idol Roy Jones!
 
Holy shit. I've watched every ppv since tuf 1 and that is the craziest fight of all time. Silva didn't respect him and got caught. He deserves it. My win percentage was terrible but Weidman and Swanson inside got me ahead of the man. Really think Munoz should have stopped boetsch but I got greedy (fight was even money for Munoz).

I think he cares, he's just a weird dude. Sounds like the most respectful fighter of all time before and after fight but in the Ring acts like a jackass
 
Spider realized he was outclassed during the first three minutes of the fight when he was actually taking it seriously. So he pulled the too-cool-for-school showboat routine to allow for the "I got KO'ed because I didn't care" excuses.
 
@MMAOdds: again..ez to be upset w/ AS hindsight but that's how AS fights..he got caught speeding..if AS put CW to sleep clowning u'd call CW overrated

I don't think he realized he was outclassed. After cw took him down he neutralized him on the ground, and cw did nothing the next 5 minutes. He just got caught goofing off.

I think silva knew Weidman could take him down and control him all day so he wanted to taunt him into a standup
