Could not make a decision on thes Pads/DBacks game. Kennedy is 2-1, 3.20 in four starts for San Diego. But Holmberg is considered one of the team's top pitching prospects. He's 5-7 with a 2.66 ERA in 25 starts for Double-A Mobile this year, including a 1.59 ERA over his last six. Dback playing decent ball but Pads seem to have something going against DBAcks as San Diego has won two straight and five of its last six games against the Diamondbacks, while leading the overall season series between the clubs 8-4. Lean Dbacks but still no play

Kennedy is 2-1 with a 3.20 ERA in four starts since coming over to San Diego in a trade with Arizona and he should know their hitters very well...but sometimes that backfires

Not the day I had hoped for but we came out winning 1.15 going 9-4-3 and up 325.25ytd. The hi juice that I play sometimes hurt me as can be seen last nite but that my style and I'm stickin to it

Holmberg lasted just 3 2/3 innings in his MLB debut for the Diamondbacks, who were coasting with a 7-3 lead entering the eighth. Cedeno had a two-run double, and Mark Kotsay and Gyorko added RBI base hits to tie the game. I had capped the pens even and it worked out thata way. San Diego would have taken the lead later in the ninth if not for Prado. With the bases loaded, Gyorko sent a line drive destined for the left field corner, but Prado made a leaping grab to rob an extra-base hit.
Diamondbacks have won their last five games when a starter makes his MLB debut ... Arizona has a five-game winning streak at Chase Field and has won eight of its last 10 at home ... The Diamondbacks opened a roster spot for Holmberg by designating outfielder Kubel for assignment.
