all stats based on opening lines

----------------------------------------------------------------------

- Philadelphia is 16-2 to Over following their last 18 Under results.

That said, they are 8-7-1 to Under their last 16 games, after going 31-10-1 to Over their 42 games prior to that. Losing Victorino, Bourn, Utley and getting back Myers have been the events to finally put a slight dampner on their heavily Over ways.

-------------------

Washington is 10-2-2 to Under following their last 14 Over results, and is 27-14-5 to Under through their last 46 games.

With Philadelphia coming off an Under result, and Washington coming off an Over result, something has to give with these 2 trends.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Detroit is 8-0-1 to Over following their last 9 Under results.

Detroit has conceded less than 3 runs just twice (both times v Oakland) in their last 26 games. Opposing teams average 6.80 runs/game against them over this stretch (20 opposing team totals Over).

-------------------

Cleveland

- is just 1-7 SU - O/U 2-6 in their last 8 home games (2.62 team runs/game)

- and just 6-13 SU - O/U 7-12 at home since the AS break (3.94 team runs/game).

Cleveland's ice-cold bats meet Detroit's cafeteria pitching - which debacle comes out on top?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Arizona is 7-1 SU since the AS break off conceding 6+ runs in their previous game, conceding an average of 2.37 runs in those subsequent games. (They're 13-4 SU their last 17 games off conceding 6+ runs, thats a .764 winning %).

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Snell is currently Pittsburgh's worst performed pitcher.

- He is 0-5-1 his last 6 starts (Pitt 0-6 SU) w/a 7.31 ERA & 1.78 WHIP, receiving only 2.50 runs support. During this 6 game stretch he faced the Mets away, conceding 6 ERs in 4 Inns (2.50 WHIP, 13.50 ERA).

- Over his last 12 starts vs NL teams, he is 2-7-3 (w/l/nd), receiving just 2.66 in runs support (having received more than 4 runs in support just once). Pitt is 2-10 on the runline during this time.

- Pitt is 2-7 SU off conceding 10+ runs this season. Both wins were at home vs teams w/losing road records.

- Pitt, off a loss that ended a 2+ game winning streak, is 2-6 SU as a Dog in their next game (2-2 SU as the Fav in their next game).

- The present Pitt lineup is hitting .211 vs Hernandez (.278 OBP)

---------------------------

- The present Mets lineup is hitting .333 vs Snell (.476 OBP)

- The Mets are hitting .296 vs righties over their last 10 games against them.

- Hernandez 3 starts vs Pitt last season: 1.28 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 1-0-2 (w/l/nd), Mets 2-1 SU (lost by 1 run in Pitt during a 3-10 SU stretch near season's end, when they had their division title and PS place already sown up).

- at 33-25, only 1 team has a better road record than the Mets in the MLB (Detroit, 35-25).

At first glance I like TB 1st five innings at + money. I know it isn't posted up top but Kazmir has pitched well and I don't want to take a chance with the dreaded TB bullpen. After being blanked last night against Wakefield, Lester won't hold down the TB bats. Also like LAA, NYY RL and Det over.

Bonderman has given up 37 hits and 29 runs in his last 4 starts!!! I think Bonderman struggles when Detroit struggles and average when Detroit is average/successful. Detroit gets Sabathia tonight, so I deem this as Detroit struggling, hence I like Cleveland on the RL to save on juice.

SF Giants are not a good team. They traveled cross country for double header with Pittsburgh, then immediately traveled to Atlanta. They face Smoltz tonight, and they lose tonight. Play: Atl Bravos on the RL, once again to save on juice.

Agree completely with the TB 5 inning play. Kazmir has an ERA below 1.25 over his last six starts while his whip has been about 1.00. Might be the hottest pitcher in the majors right now. Obviously can't trust the bullpen though and Kaz has never been known for working deep into games.

As a Giants fan I can say that you can probably throw the Braves spread into any of your bets as a parlay to kill some juice. These guys have been running all over the country and I don't see any reason why they give a shit about this game today while the Braves are in the middle of the pennat race.

Agree with the play ..GL... but RL's do not save juice they just place the juice in a different spot.. In fact statistics show that playing RL's randomly over the course of the season actually adds juice... No disrespect, just a pet peeve of mine:cheers:

Atlanta is 11-3 after a day off and currrently it seems only 2 SF pitchers seem to produce wins so some action is indicated. But a real issue here is 1.5 or 2.5 assuming you play Atlanta. For me a game time decision.

Very likely to play the Reds. Not trying to be unclear but rarely bet before umps so I am just telling you a strong initial lean.

still looking at the REds too Tuck, like the price, Zambrano looked brutal vs the Mets

Reds seem to have Zambrano's # (In April) but not in the 7.1 shutout innings. Very beatable at home, 5-5 4.09 ERA. ]

Not many SP throwing better than Harang right now or for the season for that matter, 5-1 road era of 3.89 and the REds are 9-2 in those starts.

Both SP 7-3 vs the opponent.

All those ?? in the lineup makes me wait though

Getting Harang over 120 should prolly be an automatic really...only consistent thing the Reds have...

This spot reminds me of the value at NYM early in July...

you're right, tee, that was a misuse of words by me... thanks for the correction

I'm not a Kip Wells fan, but I read (not sure of authenticity) that Brewers are 0-14 in Capuano's last 14 starts!!!

Is this true? I haven't really tracked the Brewers.

I'm not a Kip Wells fan, but I read (not sure of authenticity) that Brewers are 0-14 in Capuano's last 14 starts!!!

Is this true? I haven't really tracked the Brewers.

Cards are 5-16 in WElls starts, 2-9 on the road,

Wells is 2-8 vs Brewes, Capuono is 7-3 vs the Cards

offseting IMO

Can anyone update on the status of Aramis Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano?
haven't been following the Cubs closely of late.

Ok Soriano is on the 15 day DL and Aramis is listed as day to day. Considering recent Zambrano struggles, and the price on Harang I am willing to take a stab at the Reds here.

Just curious on these two first.

Look at Wells recently though.. In four of his previous five starts, he has allowed two or fewer runs and pitched at six innings in each..

Cards at plus money here is a definate play for me.:tiphat:

Can certainly see your side TW... no doubt there is some value. Alarm bells go off IMO when the ERA is down but the WHIP is up. Nearly 1:1 BB:K ratio etc on the road, would make me need to see the a little higher + range to play it. Certainly think the Cards win here... just not for my taste buds tonight. gl:cheers:

Right now I have no ntention of betting the Brewer game but my honest opinon is Cards come out and seriously play, no kidding around and lose. Don't shoot the messenger.

Soriano is out for a while. ARAM expected to be back tonight.

The Cardinals game is difficult tonight. I am a huge Brewer fan and I believe that the Cardinals are the play.
The Cardinals are in fact still in the NL Central race believe it or not. They are only 5.5 games back in the race.
They have a couple of huge series coming up @ Milwaukee and @ Chicago Cubs. This will define if they are still going to be in the hunt.
Wells has pitched ok lately, and Capuano is struggling.
The Brewers are a good home team, and are coming back to Miller Park after a six game road trip.

The crowd should be good at Miller Park for this series.
I think the Cardinals take this one tonight, and lose the next two.
