Interested to see a # on Houston. Clips will be 3/4 and b2b with Hous on 2 days rest

The Den/Por one is intriguing as well. Revenge for Den and Por on a 1 game roadie with Cavs at home the next night. I'd be more concerned about the lookahead for Den playing @ OKC the next night if not for the fact that Den gets them back at their place Sunday

Also slight lean to Brooklyn here. They are clearly on fire right now and Toronto starts to cool down a bit.

The reason Bulls won the game last night:
"Early this morning, Tibs was going crazy on us at shootaround. Just waking up early in the morning and having Tibs just screaming at you and screaming at you and screaming at you," center Joakim Noah said, "we didn't want that to happen to us again.

Why so much love on Sixers divol ?

The schedulle and home court is obviously on 76ers side, but other than that this looks like a 50/50 game. Hornets at full strength aren't so bad and 76ers inconsistency is very well documented. Am I a missing something.......

I think that Hornets are very young and bookies and public are blinded by teams schedules before this game.
Hornets had 3 home games and one road game against back then awful Dallas - that's what allowed them the 4 games winning streak.
Sixers played away from home for two weeks, including Christmas and New Year and didn't have any rest, so results were according. Came back for two days and flew to Toronto. Collins said it himself that the team was just too tired.
Now, Holiday says they feeling great, spending time at home, getting some training and rest done.
They should be rolling the next few games.

Just my opinion of course.

And by the way, Hornets are at best, with all players healthy, 33 - 37 wins team.
Sixers, even without Bynum are 40 - 44 wins team.
Why on earth, playing in Philly, chances are 50 - 50?

About Sixers current record, don't forget that they had Jrue out, Evans out, J-Rich (with several other players) out and very brutal stretch that they are behind it now.

Lean Philly and Indiana, probably won't play

How about motivation in Hou/Clippers? Clips off big win vs. Memphis, Houston have lost 3 in a row on the road and first game back home. Probably lean Houston, but don't love it.,

Denver with a 5 game win streak, possible look ahead to traveling to OKC? Portland has my interest

Wanted to read your opinion on total in Staples Center tonight.
What do you think the best option:
1) Lakers Over 55 at HT
2) Over 107 at HT
3) Lakers Over 108
4) Over 211

Bucks and Lakers been having pretty high scoring games lately. Lakers score more in first half than in second half and Bucks concede more in first half than in second half.
What do you think?

No way can I back Portland. Nuggets with pretty massive revenge from last months loss when the team set an NBA record by going 0-23 from 3 pt range.....and they already beat okc once.

the nuggets have been spectacular closing out games lately and that is not something they have been able to do.....

The nuggets should roll.

No plays yet.
Bobcats last night barely covered the 11.5 and also were very close to losing the plus 2 I took at half time. Really had a lot invested. Why so close?
I think i am beginning to understand and this leads me to REAL INTEREST in Bobcats tonight.
Back later.

Lakers not looking ahead to the Heat. They need to win every game and fully aware of that. If anything, the thought about the Heat on Thursday should make them play even harder today, because they can easily lose that game and if they somehow lose tonight as well, things can get ugly in LA...

Lakers first quarter looks good
Houston figures to be a strong play. Probably need clarity on the Rocket point guard position.
Still thinking

First bet
Under 211.5 in LA
Killersports
The Bucks are 0-13-2 OU (-9.7 ppg) since March 20, 2012 with
at least a day of rest after a win in which Monta Ellis was not
the Bucks’ high scorer.

Hornets vs. Sixers

Teams with a losing record playing at home vs. a non-conference opponent with a losing record, when the total is between 180 and 190 (it will be a defensive game) are 4-15 SU (-2.9 ppg) and 1-17-1 ATS in the last nineteen. This trend holds true over time - since the 2006 season teams are 45-54 SU (-0.3) and 33-65-1 ATS (average line -3.4). Teams playing on the road as a dog after a road loss, when they won the three games before that, against a team that is playing in at least their second game of a home stand are 65-45-3 ATS since the 2005 season. Since the 2005 season, teams with a losing record that are playing at home after a home game where both they and their opponent scored more than 100 points, when their current opponent is coming off a road game are 53-58 SU and 32-76-3 ATS (average line -2.6). If you add in that they won the last game, and their opponent is coming off a loss, the numbers are 27-31 SU and 14-42-2 ATS.

The Hornets have been a good bet this year as a road dog, going 11-5-1 ATS (granted the average line was 8.9). They have not had two straight ATS losses in road games this year. After an ATS loss, they are 3-7 SU (-2.4) and 8-1-1 ATS this season as a road dog. Since Eric Gordon returned they are 4-3, with some very impressive wins.

Spencer Hawes had some words of wisdom on his team that has only won three of their last sixteen and averaged only 91 ppg during this stretch:

“These are kind of the dog days of the season. It is January. It’s before the All-Star break...When you are going through stretches like this, it is good to get away from it a little bit and get your mind refreshed as well. It is all related. When you are playing better on offense and everyone is hitting shots, then everyone plays a little harder on defense, and vice versa when you are getting stops on the other end. I think if we can get back to having that mindset on the offensive end, it will manifest itself on defense in unselfishness.”

If Philly is trying to feed off their offensive prowess, they may have a hard time against one of the better defensive teams in the league. Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon did not play in the last matchup, and the Hornets may be looking for some serious revenge tonight after they were embarrassed by a 62 point outing at home earlier this season.

Popovich on the Hornets: “They just never stop. They keep coming at you, so you've got to keep your focus. Overlooking the Hornets would be a really bad idea.”

These teams are going in two different directions right now. I think that Collins is a great coach, but I think that Monty Williams is a great coach too (despite his gaffe earlier this season in Portland). The Sixers caught the Rockets in one of the worst situations that ever arises in the NBA, and tonight they are facing a highly motivated revamped Hornets team.

Following a loss ATS on the road, the Hornets are 7-4 SU (+3.9) and 10-1 ATS in their next road game as a dog (average line: 7.9).

Bet this early this morning, but I would still take the 3 now. I think they should win this game.

Tuck, I guess it's simply a question of how we rate the two teams. I think that Sixers are better team, with better coach in better spot.

Philly is a better team than New Orleans, there is no question about that. But that opinion is over a full season, I made the game "3" so it's a no bet for me, but I think we will learn something about the Sixers tonight. They haven't played to their potential thus far, and they need a winning streak. Beating Houston was a start, and tonight it a must have win. We all know the Hornets are better than their record, but talent wise, the Sixers have more, and it needs to show tonight.

I'm leaning Bucks, Raptors, and Trailblazers. Houston is going to be a bet for me. I understand and agree with what has been said about Denver in this thread, but I've been making good money on Portland, and they continue to be undervalued. I thought the OT win over Orlando after the 4 game East swing was an indication that they have learned how to win, which ain't easy.

I think that both teams are better than their record. I believe that Sixers will finish the season at 50% or really close to it (40 wins or higher).

Interesting. Any opinion?

No real opinion Tuck. On the road, working a trade show so reading and posting from cell. Initial lean this morning was over due to recent performances from both teams, read your stats and analysis and posted more for an FYI. Will probably not be involved. GL

U guys still wanna call the sixers a good team?
down 18 at home to NO

Just because the hornets are better than the sixers doesn't make the sixers a bad team but you could maybe give the hornets some respect. Or not.

Id question that
When healthy gordon is an allstar calibre player
lopez is a solid big man
vazquez is emerging into his own
we all know about andersons shooting
and davis has potential coming outta his ear

Sixers have a few decent pieces esp jrue but are nothing to write home about

hornets will be a solid team second half of the season barring major injuries

The Hornets play defense, have a closer who can create his own shot, one of the league's premier shooters, and a can't miss #1 pick who will become a top 5 NBA player sooner or later, and will be at least a very good almost star caliber player by next season. And another thing, after all the obvious names, the Thibs/Pop/etc's of the league, Monty's right there atop the list. He's a really good coach that gets his players to listen.

Their record is basically irrelevant, they compiled that without a healthy Davis and without any Gordon whatsoever. If that team weren't ravaged by injury and just had average injury luck you'd probably be staring at a 16-21ish team.

Sixers lost, but went Over their TT, so at least money back (minus the juice).
Didn't watch the game, but playing at home, they shouldn't get 111 points from Hornets...

Will be on them their next game...

to bad the lakers don't play in the east, they actually would have a chance to make the playoffs

If the Lakers can't do what is needed to get to the 8th place in the West, they don't deserve to be in it...

Houston and Minn are falling apart. I think the Lakers are now a strong Play on Team. If Pau comes back healthy they may very well make the playoffs.
