I have probably read as much information about SJSU as any team in the offseason. I am now 0-3 in games where they are involved. Had Gray played 1 qtr in the previous two games the way he played for all four quarters against Fresno St I would have covered vs afa and Oregon st. Alas, he looked like he couldn't hit the ocean throwing a football over the side of a boat. Last night he looked incredible. Their oline which was struggling going in, was pushing fresno state around like rag dolls. This one of the worst bets I have made this season and I think I will have to slowly back away from SJSU games for a bit.

I think the boxscore from rice at Baylor tells the story. look at it if you need but rice had no answer for the Baylor offensive attack. lucky to be in that game in the third quarter as much as they were. No need for elaboration, it was an ass kicking.

I added the above play by play to the box score .... we all know the plays where the Vols blew the game. But from the totals perspective the game really could have been sealed with either a third and 13 stop by florida .. or by a third and goal stop by florida. Up six and third and goal from the ten, jones probably made the right decision in running the ball to be safe and get an easy FG to go up two scores ... which would be nine and perfect for the total. Instead of a running clock and an almost certain win for the total, florida failed to make a play and he rumbled ten yards for the td.... we all know what happened after that. Thought the total did catch a few breaks from the officiating crew to put us in a great position. Tough to take.

The wind was really, really bad too. You could actually see the ball moving because of it. Did you see the catch in the third quarter by the ecu guy for the Td. Amazing play by that young man, unfortunately. I believe it was on fourth down too .. felt like if that fell incomplete that the thing still stood a shot despite the first half barrage but nope.

Western Kentucky could have scored 70 on their own if they wanted. I won't say this was a good wager but to be fair to myself, I felt the moh offensive barrage against the bearcats was an anomaly of sorts. I thought there was a good chance wky would be ahead and the game would slow down. usually to hit the 70 area you need both teams to contribute. Wky had a late 98 yard drive for td and Miami oh found a backdoor td against a softer defense late and the game went over the total. I will say that over backers deserved the win given the first half of that game and the first half was a disaster for me ... but the angles I used for the game largely played out. Didn't catch many breaks in this one.

On a side note .. when is VT gonna learn to get up for ECU? how many years of ecu playing harder and more inspired is it gonna take? Beamer has been dropping games like this for far too long. I get the loyalty, the guy did an amazing job for that program and probably deserves to go out on his own terms ... but he has to be bottom ten percent of head coaches right now.

Didn't see much of the game ... saw parts ... seemed like the offenses were ok in the parts I saw but would sputter just outside or just inside the scoring zone which is death for an over. I assume the penalties were of the variety that hurt the offensive teams. Wmich extra pt miss and failed two pt conversions all but eliminated this going over ..

yea I am a big fan of Bud the Dcord but yea Beamer is just not that good of a coach in a school that could very well be a contender still with the talent available. I just hate his style lol. And on the ECU note yea ECU plays them close all the time. maybe they thought they were going to do in ECU like they did Purdue, not!

The Over was the right side.

A lot of points left all over the field. Wr's were getting lots of separation but Jones horribly under threw all of them. We're talking at least 3-4 easy td passes here. And then Barrett comes in and does the same thing (he has not made any case to be the starter with his game play). Wide open guy headed toward the end zone...under thrown ball...INT.

Coaches were making a conscientious effort to work the deep ball so even though Cardale had lanes to tuck it and run for easy yardage (like he did in the playoffs) he'd throw a bomb. Easy yardage was also there for Zeke but as I mentioned earlier they're not trying to push the issue with him. They know what they have.

In addition to the missed kicks and missed TD pass opportunities you had an OSU blocked punt negated for defensive holding which was absurd. Also at the end of the 1st half with OSU looking to score a TD the refs called an illegal grounding (bad call as there was a receiver in the area) and the 10 second runoff rule was applied. At minimum OSU should've scored 3 there with some really nice momentum heading into the half. Instead they got 0.

Well ... I misjudged ... over rated LSU in each phase of the game, especially defense. Thought they played so soft on defense when it would have behooved them to attack an inexperienced qb with no weapons around him and a suspect offensive line. Instead they played soft and their dline did a terrible job all game long... I mean the entire game that DLine played bad. Their kick coverage was horrible all game as well. And in what probably infuriated me the most .. the lsu punt returner fielded a punt at the one yard line. No you heard me right .. the one yard line. But guess what? that only made me shake my head a little bit ... what infuriated me was that on the very next punt that he received, he fair caught it at around the 7 yard line. Did no coach berate this jackass after the previous punt? The special teams were so bad it was mind boggling .. I must have texted "more bad ST" to my buddy four times or so? Keep in mind, I don't text it the first time unless it had been bad a few times prior. The RB is the best player in college football this year. I don't care what kind of numbers boykin or Russell put up .. this guy is the absolute truth. Unfortunately the QB and dare I say the WR's who had several bad drops are not that good. I would also continue to look at what LSU does when they run if I am a DC ... they run left. Over and over again. Teams should start overloading and taking their chances with lsu running right. This was a bad spot ... but LSU did everything in their power to not cover that game ... really frustrating game and if I am head coach LSU wins so easily it would make your head spin ... unfortunately we have a grass eater coaching instead.

ST were bad, offense was bad, defense was really, really bad and the coaching was bad. LF was amazing.
