Tigers vs. Guardians Discussion Thread

Cleveland are probably the best team left in the AL but there is zero chance I'm betting against SEMCON atm

I couldn’t figure out how they were scoring runs in the 1st half, that lineup isn’t exactly scaring anyone. Can tigers continue getting these innings from the pen? Seems like they gotta be getting overworked since they been doing this opener thing a lot in 2nd half. Having to put that kid with 4 innings of big league experience into a 1 run game yesterday might speak to that? There no chance cle good enough for me to play against tigers tho.

So much for Skubal pitching 2 games but I had doubts bout that anyways, they were worried bout his innings at end the year so I didn’t think they throw him on 3 days rest, that would just fuck them in ALCS anyways. They don’t need him 2x to beat cle anemic offense.
 
Everyone is on the overpriced Tigers today. I'll take the Guardians with the better numbers vs lefties and the better bullpen. Not saying the Guardians will win but the wrong team is favored and the value is there.

Cleveland is terrific vs lefties at home. Kind of see it this as a short series for Cleveland.

He'll pitch today and Saturday most likely.

No way he was going on 3 days rest to start G1.
 
Let's go Tigers! Skubal was unbelievable. Most hitters game 2 didn't stand even a slight chance. Game 3 another chaos game for Tigers pitching. I'm going to guess Montero starts.
 
Cobb has the worst road/day splits of anyone I’ve ever seen. Probably means he throws a gem today. But this is years of consistently not pitching well on the road or during the day. Both over 1.5 WHIP.
 
Go Tigers. This is the best managerial job in a season I've ever seen in my life. There's no question AJ Hinch is the best manager in the game and it's not even close.
 
No thinking. Just going to ride the hot team who is somehow a dog at home vs a team that hasnt scored a run in 20 innings.
 
I think baseball is the worst sport ever and I should probably not even comment but my opinion is that both of these teams stink. Then again I only know of choking so don't listen to what I say.
 
This has not been my best playoffs by a long shot, matter fact it prob been one my worst ever! Luckily I havnt bet all that much but im shoving hard on tigers game 5, I see no world where Skubal doesn’t win this game and the price is freaking shocking to me!! -115 for the best pitcher in baseball vs a below avg lineup?? Tigers ml all day and will prob play ff and some Skubal props also. If Skubal loses I’ll tip my cap!

I’m so confident! I’ll prob spread it around w tigers Ff and some Skubal props but im gonna be large on tigers. I expect Skubal goes at least 7 innings so outta limit the pen exposure.
 
They moved the first pitch this morning to 8:08pm

Understandable for TV.

Forgot to check the weather I assume.

Game promptly was just moved to 1:08 pm.

More juice than I like but I’m all over cle Ff tt un1.5 -154, Skubal ov 5.5 k’s -150, id prefer his out total got bet up to 18.5 as I rather play that than ov 17.5 -180. Tigers Ff ml -140. I’ll pay to see cle hit this dude who is pitching out his mind! I just don’t think they can, I’ll always roll w a ace of this caliber at this price! far as the game line yes cle has the pen edge but think their pen gonna be asked to get a lot more outs and I suspect tigers have a lead before their pen comes in. I trust they can hold the lead for 6 outs! 18 hits, 22k’s. 3 walks in 80 something at bats vs Skubal. This postseason 14k’s, 1 walk, no runs in 13 innings. I don’t think guardians score a run.

I do think going Boyd a decent move by cle, I don’t like the way tigers sit most their lefties vs lhp. They just can’t afford to get down early and this could be the way to keep tigers off the board

Hard to argue with any of that. Interesting stat, in Skubsls last 12 starts, Det has scored at least 6 in 6 of them. Dont think that happens today.

Could be partially I havnt been able to snap this cold streak that started last 2 weeks reg season, could be partially I really dont like this playoff format, but I really havnt been watching hardly any and havnt bet all that much either, obviously backing off my bets prob has as much to do with not trying to give those fucks money back but I just havnt been as interested this year. Maybe it cause this the 1st time I ever bet all way into and thru sept without much a break and just got burnt? I dunno but for whatever reason I’m w you if tigers lose my interest level will be pretty much zilch, I’m sure networks be thrilled with yanks vs doyers or Mets but I really don’t care. Lol.

Prob not, think cle doing the smart thing starting Boyd, I really don’t like the way tigers sit pretty much every lefty besides Greene vs lhp. Sure they will have those guys ready to come off bench but coming in cold trying to hit the filth in cle pen a really tough ask.
