A note on San Frans improving offense -

8 times in their last 10 games scorers of 4+ run totals.
Prior to that they needed 22 games in order to record their previous 8 totals of 4+ runs.

And 5 times in their last 9 games scorers of 5+ runs.
Prior to that they needed 24 games in order to record their previous 5 totals of 5+ runs.

Since July the 6th, the Chicago Cubs are...

- 26-3 SU in games which they've scored 3+ runs (21-7-1 to Over)

- 0-11 SU in games which they've scored 0-2 runs (10-1 to Under)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Chicago's last 29 games of all-or-nothing offense -

10, 6, 2, 2, 9, 6, 7, 7, 11, 0, 5, 8, 0, 11, 11, 3, 3, 6, 10, 8, 11, 6, 1, 9, 5, 1, 3, 5 & 9 run totals.

_6 totals of 0-2 runs
_3 totals of 3-4 runs
20 totals of 5+ runs (68.9%)

Philadelphia is 13-4 SU (.764) in their last 17 home games they've scored at least 1 run in.

LA is 2-6 SU (.250) on the road with Manny in their lineup.

Since July the 22nd, the Atlanta Braves are...

- 10-3 SU in games which they've scored at least 5 runs (12-1 to Over)

- 0-18 SU in games which they've scored 4 runs or less (9-8-1 to Under)

Boston is 4-2 SU (O/U 4-2) this season off being shutout, averaging 5.00 team runs in the subsequent game.

Boston is also 6-1 SU (O/U 3-3-1) off their last 7 losses.

Some observations. If Texas wins tonight I believe that would be 13 games where Texas and Cleveland switch wins. Mets a rematch from where Perez loses his Sunday road win streak.

Baltimore's last 52 games of offense -

11, 2, 9, 2, 5, 7, 5, 7, 10, 3, 10, 6, 8, 5, 7, 1, 1, 5, 7, 11, 1, 8, 8, 1, 1, 5, 6, 5, 13, 7, 3, 10, 3, 4, 5, 3, 4, 9, 9, 7, 8, 5, 6, 11, 11, 3, 16, 3, 2, 11, 4 & 3 run totals.

_8 totals of 0-2 runs.
10 totals of 3-4 runs.
34 totals of 5+ runs (65.3%)

Baltimore has gone 75 games without being held to 4 runs or less over 3 straight games.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Baltimore has gone 76 games without posting consecutive Under results. They are 50-21-5 to Over during this period (Unders rate of just 27.6%), and are 18-0-2 to Over off their last 20 Under results.

They play Sunday off an Under result on Saturday.

Since the All-Star break(ASB), Florida is...

13-5 SU off a loss
3-13 SU off a win

Their performances off a win since the ASB have stayed steady (at no time have they won more than 2 straight), but their performances off a loss are progressively getting worse.

Prior to the ASB, they averaged 4.86 runs/game, whereas since the ASB they've averaged 3.91 runs/game. Mirroring this offensive decline is the performance of 2 key players -

Dan Uggla
pre-ASB: .286 avg, hitting 1 HR every 3.52 games started
post-ASB: .203 avg, hitting 1 HR every 8.50 games started

Hanley Ramirez
pre-ASB: .311 avg, hitting 1 HR every 4.04 games started
post-ASB: .252 avg, hitting 1 HR every 6.40 games started

Obviously their heavy Over ways pre-ASB have taken a downward turn -

pre-ASB: O/U 54-32-9 .... 33.7% Unders
post-ASB: O/U 15-20 ..... 57.1% Unders

lean to the under in toronto with campos on the mound. Matsuzaka worries me, but i think he hold his own. Boston offense scoring like shit with a crap pen. Might have o take first 5 due to Matsuzaka's inefficiency of pitches

ok fellas...at first glance here is who I am liking....

Boston....White Sox...possibly Orioles....Florida...Texas....Philly....

any thoughts??

night guys....just got home from Camden Yards.....crazyyy funnn!!

I found an interesting stat in the yanks/balt game. While capping I had serious consideration to an UNDER play. I watch many Yanks games & Cabrera for some reason always steps his game up vs the yanks & Rasner looked very good last out & I thought 11 was a tad high. The interesting find is the UMP behind the plate Ed Rapuano who has called 15 unders / 9 overs all making my lean to an under play good until I ya look at his run/game ave which is 10 & in 8 games where the total was 9.5 or higher he called 7 overs & 1 under. Any thoughts Bet Crimes or Sports Nut?

Rapuano is actually 15-9 to the over. :shake:

If you're stupid then so am I DBB4L...just don't think the pale hose get swept at their own yard for some reason.

Boston 18-4 in Dice-K starts.
Toronto 8-0 in Burnett's last 8 at home (wins over CHC, TAM, NYY 2x)

In San Francisco's last 17 losses they are 0-17 when given the +1.5 run line and additionally 4-40 in their last 44 losses.

In 26 games started by Barry Zito, San Francisco is 9-17. In 16 of the 17 losses, the opponent has won by 2 or more runs (94%). San Francisco has provided Zito with a mere 27 runs in those 17 losses - an average of 1.59 RPG.

In Cincinnati's 15 August losses they are 2-13 when given the +1.5 run line.

Despite going 10-9 in their last 19 games against left-handed starters, Florida's lack of run production has been consistently poor. In 18 of the 19 games, the opposing starters have tossed 108 innings giving up only 34 earned runs (2.83 ERA). Whether or not Florida wins seems to rest completely on their starting pitching and the opponent's relief pitching since Florida has tapped out at 3 runs or less against the lefty starter in 18 of those 19 games (2, 2, 0, 3, 2, 2, 1, 2, 2, 3, 1, 3, 2, 2, 0, 2, 2, 3). The one exception was the 7 runs scored in 1.2 innings against the turbulent Jorge De La Rosa who couldn't find the strike zone.

Randy Johnson has recorded 9 consecutive quality starts logging 59.2 innings and striking out 57 batters while walking only 7. During this span the Big Unit's ERA is 2.13 and WHIP is 0.96.

Derek Lowe has recorded 10 quality starts in his last 11 at home logging 76.6 innings and striking out 55 batters while walking only 13. During this span Lowe's ERA is 2.35 and WHIP is 1.08.

John Maine has pitched past the 6th inning in 2 of his 25 starts this year.

Weeble: My error u are correct, but when line is 9.5 or higher he is 7-1 to the over.

:shake:

I'm on the over in this game, and the first-half over too. Only thing that worries me is if it's similar to last night where the Orioles left a ton of guys on base. Yanks can get to Cabrera and the bullpen. I still think I need 4 runs out of the Orioles. Hopefully Rasner doesn't pitch the way he did against the Blue Jays.

who said it would be easy? certainly wouldn't back boston at -130 on the road without Drew and Lowell.

Detroit 7-1 when going for a sweep

Weeble: My error u are correct, but when line is 9.5 or higher he is 7-1 to the over.

And FWIW, that one under was an interleague game between Pittsburgh and Tampa on June 29th. 4-3 was the final, but take a look at the boxscore and just look at how many runners Tampa left on base. :new_shocked:

Rapuano never had a chance to have this game go over.

also...initially leaned orioles...but now I am thinking maybe the Yanks get hot now and start a streaking....tough to bet against them now IMO....maybe play the Yanks small...

Just like yesterday. I like the under again today and so does the world. I am playing the over 8 again.

Umps are like 1/12 th of the equation for me so I may be negatively biased but I also not great at totals IMO.

Rapuano is 7-2-1 Over L10 and from his stats I see him as being pretty neutral but the results dont say that . I would say he could at times squeeze a SP .

Thoughts on his overs recently:

Pedro vs Duke - Think went over in the b9th after Pedro went 8 inn allowing 1 run they brought they youngster Kunz in and he got into trouble . Pitt scored 3 times . So 7-1 entering the b9th.

Chad Morton - Anything else needed ? Morton when he is bad is terrible so is the UMPs fault he gets blasted routinely?

Josh Fogg - See above

Rasner vs Lackey- We all know that game just fell to pieces last 3 or 4 innings . Yanks had 10 UNEARNED RUNS after the 7th inning . Think kt was 4-0 after 5 inn LAA. Plus Yanks looking for a series split...

Johnson v Pelfrey - So does Pelfrey struggle badly vs FLA or does he struggle badly vs the UMPS who did the FLA games ? See his 3 or 4 starts vs FLA and look at his last 15 or so basically gems except u guessed FLA on 3 occassions

Matt Harrison on the road-

Parrish vs Gurthie - awhile back but believe just like Mets game with Oedro Bullpens ruined this total as it was a 1st 5 under

Now thats off the top of my head anyone can research it to verify it but pretty sure its accurate ....

So dont see much of Rapuano causing overs but his games find a way to go over and that cant be discounted . If Neutral is 50-50 then I would grade him like 54-46 Over ...

As for the total sort of lean UNDER. Had it yesterday not sure I want to go there again both SP and pens are HIT or MISS moreso Balt......but I am not looking at an over at the moment:cheers:

Here is the bet %'s.I hope yall find it useful. I will do the 12 oclock games 1st.The over I took in Boston has evened out but still like it.

True Blue: Campos has called 14 overs / 5 unders at an ave of 11, why the under?

Dont have enough time but dont see how Campos would be considered an over UMP.

His runs are crazy high but you have to look at 3 things IMO :

1-SP
2-health of the SP , how the SP came into that game pitching and BULLpens
3-Ballpark the game was played in

Thats just like from eyeballing the info no indepth research

L10 for Campos :
-Harang off the DL in his 2nd start which was as terrible as the 1st . So was Campos strike zone the reason Harang got blasted his 1st games back ? Obviously NOT

-Tommy Hunter : Raw SP and offensive beast In Texas ..

-RA Dickey : guy is solid or terrible with terrible winning out about 70% of the time

-Herrerra @ Zona ; kid isnt ML ready and he aint even a kid really . Shelled in all but 1 start if I recall. Haren was on a huge run of quality starts had a rough 1st and setttled down(which he was hit hard next outing vs ATL) . Game became a blowout and we all know the lesser pitchers start getting involved in those

-Kuroda vs Correia : Another perfect storm type game . You had both teams off tons of unders a 7.5 total witha #5 SP involved . Kuroda was in the midst of a slump allowed almost every run in lone inning and just sort of a joke but I had the Over !

-Kuroda v Nolasco- again Ballpark is important ...@ LAD another 7.5 total ...believe it was 3-3 after 9 innings and 2 runs by FLA made it sail over in teh extra session by a 1/2 run...

-Last start Pelfrey vs Jurrjens - ATL pitching has been falling apart lately-check there overs record on the road...Jaj Jar allowed 5 in the 1st a new syptom of ATL pitchers (see Campillo recent woes) and again snuck over a low total by 1/2 not inaccurate total just a low one.....

So another guy more neutral then over IMO:cheers:at least on the past 10

everyone is saying Toronto is a dog that is going to come in....I don;t think its that easy....I am taking Boston......

Key factor:

A veteran team like Boston off an 11-0 embarrassment in the midst of the playoff race. I dont want to fade AJ but do lean RSox here..Damn DiceK on normal rest ! Lean 1st 5 under:cheers:

Nut...what are your thoughts on the rest of the card...gotta go to work at 1:00 . Just wanted to see what you where thinking for today?

Thanks and GL

2 errors which led to 4 or 5 NYM runs in the first inning, i forget but i was watching this game

havent gotten to deep woke up late....

Probably Mets ML , Yanks ML or RL , LAA ML , WSox ML ...

interested in but havent looked at closely including the Cubs in a parlay or two , reason to play Maholm and Pitt as CC is ripe for a LOSS IMO , Cards ML , maybe REDS but doubtful , maybe SD because of Banks and SFG barely won yesterday when they should have blown them out ...

Thats all for now but nothing is concrete ..have just 3 plays in Yanks -1.5 , Yanks 1st score Prop and Mets so take it FWIW:cheers:

Played Under 141 Runs GS as well .....hit it by 1 run yesterday landed on 146 (u147) ......thing was cruising and I commeneted if the SEA game was in play for this to hit would play the UND. At the time I had like a 40 cushion which evaporated in about 2 innings of play as COL-Cincy game started scoring , COL started scoring 2-1 became 7-1 , 1-1 game @ Texas till b4th when both teams put up consecutive 6 spots , and eventually LAA and Miiny started opening 0-0 to like 6-4 in 2 innings as well.....

So in general my biases are HOME TEAMS and UNDERS I guess for the day ......wanted to play the HOME ML but my book was raping me. Think it was -310/-315 @ Pinny my offer was -360 .....

its the best of Sunday vs the worst of Sunday ....

Balt @ Home on Sunday in 2008

3-17
Won 3-2 with Guthrie which think the SEA pen blew that one , then lost 15 straight before Olson beat Ervin , lose two more and last one beat Miner with Olson again.

Cabrera on SUN in 07 and 08
1-7
Won the 1st one and lost the last 7 including 0-4 in 2008

3-6 career at home on Sunday so mostly away for him on Sundays

Yanks 3-6 away on Sunday dropping 4 straight and 12-7 on Sunday in 2008:cheers:

I forgot all about that Baltimore Sunday stat...

Thanks, SN

Hope it holds up. Think Balt as like 13-45 L58 Sundays so its a 2 year trend and Yansk were 26-9 L35 Sundays despite the recent road "troubles ". Figure with the playoff situation and Boston coming up both teams seem to do well before they play eachother ...Yanks and UND for me . Hate bucking the Over after an UNDER trend but had to...

GL

This time of year, I look at the O/U matchups. (Between The Two Teams Meeting each other.) Just a small trend I look at this time of year...

Under is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings/TB vs Chi under 9.5

Over is 20-6-3 in the last 29 meetings. Atl vs St.L Over 9.5

Over is 6-2 in Rogers' last 8 starts vs. KC/vs Det. Over 10.5

Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. Oak vs Sea under 8

Under is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings. SD vs SF under 8.5

Over is 23-8-1 in the last 32 meetings in Arizona. Flor vs Ariz Over 9

Over is 10-4-2 in the last 16 meetings. LA D vs PH i Over 9.5

Added Thoughts...

CLE are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Texas. Cleveland +135

Maholm pitching well lately Pittsburgh +1.5 +145

Playing Pitt ML and +1.5 +120 right now for 1/2 unit may increase the +1.5 RL.

I may be jumping the gun here as Pitt's linmeup doesnt offer much but just feel so Ripe for the pickin...

He went 130 pitches last outing and allowed 11 hits and he even labored @ SD prior to that but they couldnt take advantage. CC rarely is bothered by high pitch counts..

Some maybe a little less from him then what we have seen so far vs the NL and Maholm has 8 starts in the past 10 were he went 7 or 8 innings and llowed 2 runs or less . Thats the type effort needed and he lost 2-1 in the b9th a month agao @ MILW.....

Giants vs Pads this season 11-2 under 8.5. (One over was in April One In May)

Under is 9-1 in SF last 10 vs. National League West.

Correia pitching better for the Giants...Even if Giants bats stay somewhat strong, 5-3/4-2 type game IMO

I dunno about that under in SF Vap, seems way too easy. Nice day out here in the SF Bay Area and the yard plays live during the day. Saw that it opened up at 9 as well but got bet down quickly to 8.5. Almost an unsaid rule that when I see totals open up at 9 either in SF, SD, OAK, or LAD they are automatic plays on the over. GL w/ whatever you decide.
