Stanley Cup Finals : Preview / Discussion / In-Game (Predators / Penguins)

Pitt is gettin the Over by themselves.
The Fucking Pirates -1.5 cost me a nice parlay w/ Pens -1.5

That offside rule is such trash

It's like Brett hull in the crease allmof again

Could you imagine in the Super Bowl if a guy like Hoodie could throw a challenge flag to see if a defender was in the neutral zone or if 2 men were in motion, or something that would nullify a touchdown?

That is an absolutely horrendous rule and it has to go. It is absolutely laughable.

fuck. nashvile pp goal

3-2 pens still up but not getting too much offensive production lately

Strange game...the 1st goal taken off the board with the offsides challenge

Nash defense looking lost the back half of the first period giving up 3

Pitt giving up 2 PP goals and a sloppy defensive play for the 3rd

Rinne not making a save on a shot he should've clearly stopped on the first shot he faces in over 37 minutes of ice time.

You won't ever see a game like this again.

Game 2 adjustments will be very interesting...this series will go a bit me thinks...

1 down. 3 to go. LET'S GO PENS!!!!!

I thought preds were the better team. They got hosed by the refs early and just broke down at the end of the first after the 5 on 3. For this being their first finals appearance it's not surprising that they had nerves early. I don't see how you could feel that comfortable as a penguins fan with the way Nashville dominated most of the game.

Very strange gm for sure

It's hard to judge the game

Goals 1 and 4 were savable, Rinne was always their weakness coming in to the playoffs but that should be the worst game he plays

The third goal was really unlucky and tilted the game until the 3rd

Score effects makes the pens sit back and Nashville dominate, but no sog for 37 minutes is worrying, they crushed Anaheim in a few games in Corsi too. Don't think it will tilt so much going forward

A few reasons could make a Pens fan feel comfortable...first, they were dominated for the middle of the game (most of the game even), and still won the game. Second, they were dominated because they were sitting back with their 3, and then 2 goal lead...that isn't going to happen again after last night. Basically, the Pens aren't going to do that again (go that long w/o a shot and just get dominated), and they actually won the game in which they did play that way.

Series:
Nashville Predators +205
Pittsburgh Penguins -245

Game 2:
Nashville Predators +125 +1.5 -240
Pittsburgh Penguins -145 -1.5 +200

o5.5 +130
u5.5 -150

Tend to think this one stays under but I thought that about game one & sure as shit not laying 1.5 to see it.

There haven't been two straight games over 5 goals to start the finals since 1997. When there's been 6+ goals in the first game of the finals, the subsequent games have had goal outputs of 3,5,3 & 3 over the past 20 years. The only reason I know that is I leaned under tonight & took some time to look it up on a hunch. Having said that, Nashville couldn't have limited the Pens anymore than they did Monday, holding them to 12 shots, but they still surrendered 4 goals (not counting empty net) & half of the 12 shots were quality scoring chances. This is a tough one to read. Is Nashville capable of holding them down again, or do the Pens step up tonight after a sub-par performance & take total control of the series? I have no clue, but am sticking with the under 5.5 (-135). I may even put a 1/2 unit on under 5 at the price I have available (+140).

Preds are 0-7 in Gm2 playoffs gms after losing gm 1 and have never won a playoff series after losing gm1

Sullivan has to switch things up

Crosby getting nothing vs Subban and Malkin not doing much better

Since preds can hard match them with an elite d pair anyway I'd just load up a line

Sid, Geno on one with someone like rust or sheary
Out HBK back together for 2nd line

Pittsburgh's playmakers and their ability to put pressure on (even though it's been very sporadic) cannot be ignored and deserves huge credit.

But I'm sorry, fucking Rinne has been trash through these first 2 games. At least 3 goals he's given up should have never seen the back of the net. Nash has to feel so defeated since their defensemen are clearly superior, but you cannot have your goalie be sub-par.

This period and Nashville's total collapse has me thinking this might not get past 5.

scratch that last goal due to offside... still 4-1 and completely dominating

WE WANT THE CUP! WE WANT THE CUP!

2 down. 2 to go. :cheers3:
