Significant Portal Moves 2022

Jahleel Billinglsey to Texas. Alabama goes to Austin week 2 next year. Looking forward to him try to block Will Anderson and Dallas Turner.

Drew Sanders transferred to Arkansas, and I think he'll play at an all-SEC level there. Wish he had stayed, but I understand why he left. Wish it hadn't been to a division opponent though

I'd assume loser of competition leaves at end of camp?

I would assume Thompson would leave if he doesn't get the job. Purdy, I think, is more of a long term play. Can't imagine Smothers is around to be third team next year. He should go to a group of 5 team and probably do okay there.

CALEB WILLIAMS WATCH ???

===================================================================================

baker mayfield, lincoln protege - not in playoffs.
jalen hurts, lincoln's guy for last yr of college, gets routed yesterday and looked bad.
kyler murray, lincoln's guy, getting crushed tonight in first playoff game and looks terrible.

sure, baker and kyler were selected #1 overall, which is obviously worth a ton of money, but what about the next phase of turning into an elite QB at the next level.

Caleb and his parents look like they are playing chess here which is very interesting and quite refreshing too.

-110 he ends up transferring to U$C
-110 for the field.

thoughts ???

(yes i am scorned Sooner Fan but still very happy about Venables coming back to Norman. i can be a happy Sooner fan and still dislike Stinkin' Lincoln all the while LOL)

No one should

The "Paul Chryst coached Russell Wilson" angle was an interesting one, in that perhaps Caleb and/or parents were intrigued by it.

if so, Russell has certainly had a very nice career but he was a 3rd round pick while Lincoln guys like Baker and Kyler were Heisman's and also went #1.

there's a bit of money attached to that LOL

How long can these guys wait? Spring semester started 10 days ago at USC and started Monday at Oklahoma

Surely there has to be some point beyond which they cannot enroll.

Or maybe that's considered too restrictive in this day and age

Russ is a big reason why those guys went number 1.

Some schools have a second spring semester that starts later, but I think if they haven't transferred by now, it won't be until after spring

Chubba Purdy to Nebraska

Vandergriff is an interesting story at Georgia. Originally committed to Oklahoma and when he did OU stopped recruiting QBs. Later Vandergriff changed to Georgia so Oklahoma went back to Caleb Williams and in just a couple of days he committed. Now Williams is the hottest transfer prospect in the country and Vandergriff is buried on the depth chart

Jermaine Burton commits to Alabama. Enrolling tomorrow and will go through spring practice. Nice pickup for us

Nebraska picked up Omar Brown, xfer CB from Northern Iowa. Frosh All-American in 2019, pretty solid pick up. Hopefully, can take Cam Taylor's spot.

His stock will rise even more with Bryce as opposed to Stetson I’m assuming

I don't know it to be true, but I assume that if he thinks he's an NFL WR, he wants to have an NFL QB throwing to him. No offense to SB4, but I don't blame Burton if that is the case

I am trying to understand why else, if I were him, I’m going to get Bryce to throw to me to improve my stock with soaring numbers. Metchie, burton and when Earle takes the next step gonna be a problem.

Metchie is gone. As are Jameson Williams and Slade Bolden. 3 starting spots open. It's not just Bennett. I think UGA has had one 1000 yard WR season ever. Alabama has had 6 in the last 3 years

Yea I used to think this. LSU pumped WRs into the NFL under Les.

It’s basically same with Kirby(not as many I would bet but haven’t looked)

I was curious so I looked it up. UGA has 5 WR currently in NFL. AJ Green was the only one taken in 1st round. Like I said, I have no clue what his motivation for leaving UGA is, but it wouldn't surprise me if it had to do with his role in the offensive system there, and he feels he will be more involved elsewhere. He got a ring, now he can work on getting drafted as high as possible

Trust me, I get it. Seemingly had a clear route to WR1( TE likely is but you know what I mean).

His recruitment was quite the journey. He will fit right in with you all.

He was the leading WR this year for them. Not sure what you mean with “fit right in” with us, but if he does fit right in, he’ll probably be a Bilitnekoff finalist

Kelly is cleaning up at LSU. He added a really good db from Oklahoma State today. Jarrick Bernard-Converse, first team all Big 12. Three-year starter, tough guy, hard worker, just the kind of guy Kelly has built his career on. A Shreveport native--Evangel Christian--who always wanted to go to LSU, but they didn't want him

Kelly wants him though. Fifth db they've added through the portal this year

Jayden Daniels. Apparently there was a twitter video of his teammates emptying his locker which has since been taken down. Looks like he wasn't well liked. The ASU dumpster fire continues.

I noticed Tyson, backup QB at Bama who was a damn good HS QB but is better known for being Bear Bryant's grandson than anything he did on the field at Bama, transferred to Ariz State

Wonder if that's why Daniels entered the portal or if it's because of the constant uproar within the ASU program

Good question. What I read was Daniels and Herm met earlier then Daniels announced he was staying. Something definitely happened.

No offense to Paul Tyson, but if he scared off Daniels, then Daniels isn’t much of a competitor
