Angels ML

Myers doesn't deserve to be a fav over anyone right now, utley 0 for 23 after tonight and Vlad has 29 HRs career vs the Phils

Like the chances of a sweep @ Wrigley have Cubs series play pending .

First two I think are over 8.5 Pitt as 1-0 games have been going over next day and well 2 offsppeed artists helps seeing amlost the same number as Halladay and Duke. The other is probably TB ML. Its pricey but Houston had there ace and while they never trailed it was a 4-3 game and Valverde cannot be trusted . Look for TB bounce back . Maybe an over @ Yankee Stadium . Actually some mor emaybe MILW ML, DET ML and TExas ML but definetly Over 9.5 @ Washington. Remember IO think Nats will hit LHP . Dukes MONSTER lately 4-4 today !So far

I think the following bounce back in big way tomorrow with home wins:

BoSox, NYY, Brewers, Rays, Braves

thoughts?

DStang, IMO:

Boston: Too much chalk to lay with Matsuzaka just coming back from the DL

Yankees: Game to play the OVER.

Rays: Edwin Jackson sucks. Plus Rodriguez has been decent this year.

Braves: I like the Braves tommorrow, rake at home, Jurrjens has been good and Washburn sucks.

Milwaukee: D. Cabrera has pitched well on the road.

1 PM:

Leaning Cubbies . Contreras as I have said a MILLION times is the streakiest SP I have ever seen and there are basically only two sides him to AWESOME and BAD . After a long run as an exceelent SP he faultered @ DET and wel he wasnt bad the next outing he was more like medicore . While Marquis has won 3 straight starts and gotten progressively better in each . Not much on then that nothing stands out wait till tmrw when lineups appear but DiMauro is the ump and home teams are 13-2 with him so far so that helps.

Yankees and over 10.5 ? Giese is an older rookie and show he knows what he is doing out there . Thompson is a complete unknown who I think the Reds see as talented based on his quick progression this year and the fact he was a HS draft pick . Still overwhelming spot for a kid with 3 or 4 AAA starts in his career and just 14 above A ball to walk into Yankee Stadium in his ML debut and do well vs that LH heavy lineup.....Yanks day games see some unders and Reds havent been able to best 4 runs vs RHP very ofetn past few weeks but this looks like a bullpen game and Barry behind the dish seems to be an over ump.....

GL

LOOKING @ :

Rockies , WSox , Yanks , TB , Pitt +1.5RL and ML but definetly over , Milw , maybe Seattle again (fade ATL vs LHP) , Over @ Wash for sure and maybe Texas ,KC and Det

Here's the evidence that backs up that scout's assertion that Ramirez has "great pitch recognition." He has posted an outstanding BB/K (walks-to-strikeouts) ratio of 0.84 this year which, coincidentally, matches the BB / K ratio posted by Cleveland's Victor Martinez this year (tops among all MLB catchers). His BB / PA (walks-per-plate appearance) ratio is a dazzling 1.68. Only six major leaguers can top that figure this season: Barry Bonds, Jim Thome, Pat Burrell, Todd Helton, Nick Swisher and Ryan Howard.
Ramirez is tough to fool and makes pitchers throw the ball over the plate. Hitters with high BB/K and BB/PA ratios tend to have enormous pitches-per-plate appearance figures as well, so Ramirez fits neatly into the emerging organizational philosophy to work pitchers and drive up pitch counts.

I think that article is a bit outdated, but the Rangers and the local media are nuts about this kid.

Reds @ Yanks thoughts :

SP matchup :
Darryl Thompson is a youngster at 22 with just 4 AAA starts of experience and another 10 @ AA all this year . I think there is a great chance for him to be overwhelmed in the sense he never pitched in college and while I cant verify this I dont believe he went Major League Spring Training . So this is an unfamiliar situation in that sense . His stuff would seem to be pretty good( if not very good) based on his numbers and the rapid promotions in 2008. He was drafted out of HS and spent along time in A ball(various levels ) . It took him till his 5th season to getto High A ball which is basically considered good college level baseball . This year AA hitters didnt hit him much 44 hits in 61 + innings but I caution his ERA as he allowed 19runs but just 12 were earned ( so nearly .70 runs more per start then his ERA and granted they are unearned for a reason but still of issue) . He has shown very good control so far and went deeper into games @ AAA. Its a positive he comes in throwing the ball well . The question is for me is he ready to pitch in the majors at all ? I wonder can he hold on runners ? We have seen Yanks stealing alot past few days or attempting alot . Also the Yankee Stadium factor. You have really no experience other then small minor league parks and towns which is A ball and the minors in general . Now you pitch against the most storied franchise in history , on a packed house Sat which is beautiful as could be vs the a lineup built on solid LH bats . So steep hill for the youngster IMO.

Not much to say about Giese . He had some experience last year in SF that I was sort of unaware of and outside of the 4 Hrs he allowed was fairly solid (just 9+ innings). So far this year he was great in AAA and solid in his few outings. Somewhat concerned about his relative lack of use but I think journeyman type guys who dont have power stuff tend to do better in these situations.

The Reds lost Colbrera yesterday and he went 4 for 4 and was huge . Janish has slumped badly vs RHP . Really so has the entire Reds offense. The had 10 hits and 4 runs yesterday but again a big key to that is absent (Votto was the other as they had 7 of the hits). Last 8 home games they scored 17 runs vs RHSP but not all the runs came off RHs . Road trip before that 2,2,2,4 vs RHSP and lost to young Ryan Tucker as well as Michael Boggs at home very key IMO .

Dunn did not swing well yesterday vs Mussina and is mirred in a slump , Jr just came back after misssing a few games and Bruce was in a mini slump after the super quick start 3-12 after 0-12 stretch. Janish 1-26 . Phillips was limping late in yesterdays game . Just a struggling lineup .

Yanks struggled last 2 versus the UNFAMILAR SP in Josh Banks and Ed Volzquez. Here another unfamiliar SP but I do think its somewhat different when your 22 making your ML debut at the Stadium. Thats my opinion though . Yansk as a team hit well in day games . Reds ERA is great in day games but NYY is which is why we see alot of day unders from them. Last 13 games NYY has allowed 5 runs or more 3 times . They allowed 4 runs twice and yesterday was rough ball missed in the lights really caused the Reds inning . Otherwise 2 shutouts , 4 games allowing just 1 run and two games allowing 3 runs . So with alot of RHP it seems on the surface NYY has what it takes to keep the Reds mirred in this slump . However you never know what to expect with youngsters especially with Giese getting such little work and he is really no youngster . I like his poise on the mound came in for Joba in his Yankee debut and knew what he was doing didnt look rattled at all.

Yanks are 12-5 at home since ARod returned and actually 2-3 in series openers defeating only SEA and SD.

Last 5 Sat games have gone over ....8-4 @ Houston , 12-11 vs KC , 7-6 @ Minny , 12-6 vs Seattle , and 4-7 loss vs NYM.

So Yanks like to hit on Saturdays at least recently since the weather starte warming up . They put up 12 in there last two home games both 1 PM starts I believe......

Like the Yanks even at -200 unsure about the RL and because of the situation lean over despite concern about Reds offensively. Wise move by Baker getting Votto up in the lineup in the 5th spot and I think that helps them score . He actually should have batted Votto 3rd vs Stults the other dayIMHO .

Think Reds 5 th slot in the rotation is 2-9 so far , Reds won just 2 of 11 road series 1st one in Milw and last time in late April @ SFG , Yanks have not lost 2 straight at home since Arod returned , Reds are 6-13 L19 games and just 13-24 away . Reds 7-14 away vs RHP.

Volzquez won 6 of 13 away wins , Arroyo has three ,Harang , Cueto , Fogg and Belisle the others .

STill mulling this matchup over and the WSox-Cubbies game:cheers:

I believe he is filling in for Laird. Washington only has 15 stolen bases this year so his weakness is not so bad.

I would never lay 1.5 in that game. Of ourse I did lay 2.5 but that is different.

Not much early for me .

Yanks ML 1unit , RL -105 0.5 unit , 1st 5 inn under 5.5 runs 0.5unit
Under 9 Cubs 1.25 units , Cubs ML 0.75 units

GL

Love the YANKS UNDER 1st 5 and UNDER CUBS.....I should have played tat....

I believe he is filling in for Laird. Washington only has 15 stolen bases this year so his weakness is not so bad.

I think he is coming up to replace Laird on the roster, but would imagine Salatamacchia will get the starter's role and Max will be used to spell him on off days.

Late afternoon....waiting on lineups still...

Out West ...

Looking athe over and Think it might be a strong play despite the day after night game.

LAD has not hit LHP well at all of late and Sabathia is pitching well . He was solid vs SD but had one bad inning which basically was the only inning they hit him of the 8 he pitched .

Key here for me in regards to him is that he seems to be much sharper on normal rest vs extended rest even in this hot streak.

The recent starts arent terrible but they arent 0 or 1 run types for the most part . Thats what I am looking for 3 runs n 7 innings and maybe another off the pen and have a 5-4 game worst case scenario. Also last year on extra rest 6 starts 4.17 ERA compared to .297 and BAA of .287 vs 251. So history of some struggles when he gets an extra day bewteen starts.

Park's last outing was really his 1st bad one but it was terrible 1.1 inn 8 hits and 5 runs ! Also not Park pitched mostly when his team was behind as only 6 of 20 appearances I believe came in LAD wins . I would guess Proctor or Kuo is the bridge reliever trying to get to the setup guys.

Neither lineup hit well in day games to date with some pretty ugly stats . However LAD did just hit well vs Harang in a day game on Thursday .

Cle .228 3runs 16-6 under in day games
LAD .246 3.2 runs 16-8 under in day games

Cle despite a 248 avg away vs RHP but .293 L10 vs RHP .
LAD .274 at home vs LHP but only .252 L10 vs LHP

So while on paper its doesnt look that great combined with the HEAT the ball should carry and think we some runs here.

http://cleveland.indians.mlb.com/ne...t_id=2971679&vkey=news_cle&fext=.jsp&c_id=cle

Interesting article ....looking at Cle ML 1st 5 inn and LAD 1.5 RL game ...

Again HUGE concern is LAD vs LHP lately :
Lee yesterday (4 but only 1 off Lee)
Robertson shut them down @ Det (4 but all off todd Jones)
Wolf @ SD (1)
Francis home (0)
Santana @ Shea (1)
Saunders @ LAA (2)
Parra @ Mil (6runs but 3 off Parra only 1 earned)

So leap of faith if I go with it:cheers:

Give the reds a bunch of outs and eventually even they will get you . Another stupid mistake . Posada should have went UP and in instead of down and in ....ruined the whole game...terrible how bad these guys are at the little things ...so easy to call a game and they cant even do that ....

Interesting-

DiceK made a rehab start Monday in AAA going 5 innings allowing 3hits and 2 runs .

Whats interesting is that makes this a normal rest start for him .

So since I expect Boggs to struggle and dont trust the STL pen much hoping this makes an over more likely .....

Basically on the overs with more on the LAD over 8.5 even for 2 units and some 1st 5 overs as well .......Tribe 1st 5 ML and went CLE ML and LAD +1.5 RL for the game but slightily mote +1.5 RL...shits and giggles play STL +1.5 RL +110 0.5unit

BOL..

The Yankees offense really helping out my over......what a joke

Its comical to this point hwo bad NYY is vs guys they havent seen. They had the youngster on the ropes often butdid nothing but let him off . Bases Loaded no out in the 2nd ...

Its pretty INSANE how many young pitchers have done well vs NYY so far ....

Stayed away from the over because I didnt think this game would worse then 7-3 or 6-4 ..type and wish I pounded that 1st 5 under @ +110!

GL bro

At least my Cubs series play cashed but damn I blew the 1 PM games ...lost -2.6 units but will get 1 unit back on the series play ..

Card jump out 2-0!

sn, what revenge? i grabbed col ML, KC ML, & Pitt ML. somehow whenever i bet on or against pitt they win and also whenever i bet on colorado they always get like shutout at home and just str8 up blow. gl

Read a few post back about CC and the Dodgers . Its the post where I was talking about that game. Link should be on the bottom.

Thanks Jimbo. Going with KC MK not sure about the other games yet . Though Jays vs LHP seems like a fade of late but think we see some runs there .

anyone have the stomach to play seattle tonight?

as much as i hate backing WASHBURN he has been better as of late, and braves really struggle against LHP.

not one seattle hitter has faced jurrjens yet though, except clements whos 1-1 career.

washburn has never faced the braves, and is 9-5 in interleague games

considering playing Houston first 5 today. Odd situation. Based on days rest both pitchers have over 6 era's. Why Houston? Rodriquez has pitched with this umpire 4 times. He did very well all 4. This year he has pitched with him twice home and away and gone 13.1 innings giving up nothing. Fills wrong but clearly Jackson is an ugly choice and 4 great games with this umpire is very rare.

6:05 :

Interesting spot for Wandy Rodriguez not pitching since last Saturday . Not many starts with alot of rest but some samples :
Last year he skipped a turn and went 10 days but was very solid in April . Sort of different when you skip a turn as you can get a long bullpen session inbewteen. Two starts last year vs CIncy were both good but also Wandy being LH faced a very LH heavy lineup. Three others he was terrible the one after the Break and two in September .

7runs in 3.1 in mid July
5runs in 4.1 in Sept
5 runs in 3.o in Sept

3 runs in 5inn sept 06
4 runs in 4inn spet 06

Four on the road the Stros lost those 4 and won at home.

So seems while glancing at his game log he has struggled 5 of the 8 badly . The 2 he didnt were vs Cincy and the other a start where he spot was skipped in April.

I am aware of the fact Fletcher is behind the dish and Wandy's success with him and his under tendecies . Damn 21-5-2 UNDER last games he did.

TB 20-0 since 2006 laying 150 to 175 as home favs and 12-0 this year .

Houston pen overworked ? L10 games Oswalt went 7 + twice , two huys went 6.1 but no one else completed 6 innings and 4 of them were 5innings or less.

TB .318 L10 vs LHP.

Over 9 runs , Over 5 runs 1st 5 inn , TB ML and Houston +1.5 RL are what I am looking at

meant to add that chippers out for todays game and possibly tomorrows as well......

also looking at the SCREWERS... but i really hate the line movement in that game, and cant make anything of it. i dont understand why it dropped that much

cabrera has gone back to his gas can self walking too many batters, and having some serious control issues. mcclung is coming around and has ptiched excellent in his last 3 outings....

Brewers are 4-1 in their last 5 games with Cuzzi behind home plat
Orioles are 1-6 in their last 7 Saturday games with Cuzzi behind home plate.

Was thinking UNDER here but tough to pull the trigger with these pens might lean 1st 5 under . Would lean Seattle dont have a great feel ATL is a broken team IMO . I have repeatedly faded them vs LHSP as they rarely have scored more then 3 runs and Washburn has been okay past few times out .Think ATL activated Gonzalez .

Thinking SEA ML , 1st 5 ML and +1.5 RL but while the UNDER looks good on paper just something telling me expect runs. Also like to fade Jurrjens off a win as a DOG and now big chalk..:shake:

Played Over 9 and 1st 5 over . Small play prop 1st inn score YES .

Probably going to play Houston +1.5 RL and thats all on the sides

Probably putting a big play out there on SCREWERS 1st 5.... i want nothing to do with that screwers pen. besides shouse this pen is aawful, mcclung should go 5.5-6 so that leaves 3 innings of screwer pen

as hot as the o's have been i really dont mind fading htem here, the wins were not quality as they swept HOUSTON at home who has been awful on the road and overall lately, and were lucky to as 2 were one run games, and won 2 of 3 aaginst PITT, whos 13-24 on the road.

screwers are 6-2 in last 8 games following a loss, and 7-2 in game 2s

both teams hit RHP well and maybe an OVER play is in order here too...
