Official Trade Deadline Thread

VirginiaCavs adds a ton to this board. His insights are greatly appreciated by me and I'm sure many others.
Look no reason to get me started, he goes and needs to be babysat, constantly which can be fine

I don't give two fucks what you add lol, I'm about the interaction. When it breaches tolerance, you gonna get called. Every. Time.

The guy interacts just fine and has a ton of great write ups in every sport.

Are you him? LOL um he has a human interaction problem

Hell he'll probably admit as much

No I am not him and have no idea what he is like in real life but he is a great member of this board. No reason to waste any more time on this. Should be tons of trades in the next few days to discuss.

Right, I've adapted. You haven't gotten some of the PMs that many members have from him, sorry but that will always stick. You can't undo a lot of what he did.

I dont see why Brewers dont trade for a starter if they wanna take this season seriously

They'll clean it up...they do it for you all the time

I do it for You too, KJ.

And I do it to anyone who derails a thread and goes in their own direction at their choice, it’s nothing personal.

It’s just I have the 99% of the people who read the site’s interest in mind and they don’t give a flying fuck over 2 dudes who want to play slapass with words over a message board.

So I’m an equal opportunity dickhead, just for the record.

Not really excited about Shreve idk much about Gallegos @2daBank

Was he guy who came from Yankees? My brother mentioned to me at dinner we traded for some crap the Yankees didn’t use in their pen. But guess we needed a lefty reliever since we got rid of Lyons and dl’ed cecil. Dunno what role Gomber gonna have at this point??

Totally pointless to acquire a crap lefty when we have Gomber !

Yea I agree, unless I suppose they plan on Gomber either being a starter or just not a guy who comes in to get a lefty out (left handed specialist I suppose the job description I’m looking for), and more a multiple inning mid inning reliever which prob makes more sense.

My brother just text me and said cards traded Pham to Tampa for essentially a bag of used baseballs. That is awesome, guess that secures Fowler’s status as starter for length of contract! Lol. Of and guess it also makes Bader our full time center fielder which just great considering he basically a crappier version of Randal grichuk at the plate!! Lol

Don‘t forget O‘Neil. I mean Pham is older and so inconsistent. Nothing special long-term. But yea I can‘t wait for Fowler to go

Yea I’d like for it to make room for O’Neal but don’t see them playing him in center. Pham incredibly special compared to Bader imo.

Pham one of only cards with heart, not something they could afford to lose imo.

Guess at the end of the day I'm ok with Snakes moves, think they got 4 in all and Escobar a nice add to the lineup...not sure about the bullpen guys though. The guy from Tampa was getting drilled last night, Diekman from the Rangers I'm not familiar with but the WHIP is a bit high for a lefty, at least Ziegler coming back is a good thing, know what we get from him. Sinking submarine seems to do well here.

Should be, they way better than scrubbies.

As they’re currently playing, maybe. Wouldn’t use ‘way’ in any shape. Depends on if Cubs get healthy or not, but think Dodgers/Cubs third straight NLCS matchup should be the easy favorite.

Rotation is garbage and gotta imagine that D is going to be atrocious with Schoop and Shaw up the middle.

Everyone keeps saying that the rotation is garbage but it hasn't been that bad at all. They also have Burnes and Woodruff to put in the rotation which is a better option than trading something like Burnes and Hiura for Archer.

Arcia is still going to play most of the games at short. One of Shaw, Moustakas, and Schoop will just have to sit but the Brewers badly needed a righthanded bat to balance the lineup. I would feel better if we just made this move and not the Moustakas one but Stearns knows what he is doing and I will trust him.

Ortiz was probably the 4th or 5th best Brewers pitching prospect in AA or higher despite his relatively high rankings. Carmona is the guy the Brewers may end regretting putting in this deal but they just drafted Turang who is the future at shortstop.

I only used “way” cause I’m a cubs hater, lol. I would def favor doyers tho. Actually think whoever gets in between zona or Rockies have a very good chance to take nl this year.

At least they tried to do something as odd as the pieces fit. My squad getting closer and closer to being cellar dwellers in central than up near the top!! lol

Stearns will get a lot of criticism from the national media who know nothing about this team just as he did when he didn't spend big money on Darvish and Arrieta in the offseason and just signed Chacin who has been terrific. David Stearns knows what he is doing.

You really don't have a deep minor league system to do anything too dramatic anyway. I think they did quite well.

I mean it a odd fit w moose, schoop, and Shaw but when my team trading guys for bags of balls I’m not gonna beat up a team trying to do something. Damn sure don’t think Matt Harvey would have helped their chances all that much like the bobble heads wanted them to do. As much as pit gave up for archer can’t blame them for not beating that offer. Sometimes when everyone zigs you should zag and they didn’t pay shit for schoop, I’d kill for cards to have gotten him for less than they traded for used baseballs.

I figure they made the moose move figuring that they might not be able to pull off this one today. Smart to still make this move once it was there,, schoop young and potential beast.

Yeah I really didn't want them to or figured they even could do much. Team is fairly well constructed for the market, assume the move for Escobar means Lamb's injury isn't the 10-day DL type. Kinda loaded with versatile infielders now, adding three arms to a pen that has been very good, not sure the necessity for all that but I'm guessing it will work itself out.

Be curious to see what happens with Harvey, virtual lock the Reds put him on waivers and hope he clears so they can trade.
