***New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs Discussion***

Haha accuweather has 5 degrees at kickoff and -1 3 hours later

I don't care about wind, rain, sleet or baton twirlers, that blows

Tough game.

Either Kc will ride this offense into the big dance or

Bill and more experienced tested team will win with moxy and experience.

This is how I see it.

Teams have ridden offenses into championships of late.
Eagles last season
Clemson college.

The Kc defense if plays well can win this game for the chiefs.

But tough to count out pats.

They practice winning. And they are damn good at winning.!

A football feels like a rock at zero degrees.

I think this takes away more from the KC improvisation show.

I trust NE secondary savvy.

Clete Blakeman is neutral across total and spread.

Patriots ML+142

Can't find a side that makes sense, have a feeling the popular plays will be either KC -points or NE ML which obv makes sense for many reasons, seems crazy to go against NE in a 'ship against this defense. I do however firmly believe KC will get plenty of pressure on Tom unlike what he faced last week

Are the chiefs ready?

I don’t know. Pats are winners. They have won lots of stuff.

Not sure the chiefs decisions can beat the pats.

If chiefs offense plays well they should win.

If not they will lose

damn that is crazy cap, you wouldn't think a team like the chiefs and their defense would have that streak. I don't think it ends sunday either.

lets talk about the weather though; how do we think it is going to impact everything? I am thinking of laying off thsi one completely because you never know how teams are going to respond to playing in 0 degrees. If it were decent weather Id be all over KC but you have to think this hurts them, no? Also think it hurts the over.

This total keeps dropping and the over is a banger imo.

Please tell me how the Patriots defense is gonna frustrate Mahomes like they did Rivers (they won't). He won't be a statue and Kelce should have some good looks. Hill prob good to roast Gilmore at least once. If there is one thing to trust it's KC's offense at home. Who can guess what kind of gameplan hoodie comes with...but the emergence of Sony makes this offense much more efficient in any weather. I'll prob be on 1sth over, both tt over, game over.

I was surprised to hear after Gilmore got beat peaking in on Keenan that he grades out as best db in conference? Or team or league, wasnt sure but I was surprised, even tho his tool bag is amazing

that's a pretty good argument to take +3

There is one weather element that significantly affects football games. Wind. The cold weather without wind, is a media narrative that distracts from the matchup for the most part.

If you had 2 warm weather teams playing in the frigid temps, I think it's one thing, but both of these teams aren't scared or going to change game plans because of the thermometer.

I do not think that the cold will affect the game as much as some of the media think. Players on Twitter and the stats ATS in cold weather games do not indicate there is a dropoff. If I am NE, I run and screen a lot. If I am KC, I am not changing anything.

Like it's been said. Wind would be a different story.

As an aside, and maybe it's because I live up here, but the "underdog, us against the world" thing from the Patriots and their fans is ridiculous

You've been favored 67 straight times. Wtf.

Last week? New England fans: "Chargers are scary. Got a good team. Gotta respect them. Talent on both sides of the ball. Not sure how we are going to do"
This week? New England fans: "HA! You thought Philip Rivers was going to come into Foxboro and win? They had no shot. Anthony Lynn? Come on now, guy was never going to gameplan to beat BB.

This week? "We are the underdog. Everyone doubts us. Out to prove the haters wrong"

If win: "How could you doubt Brady and Belichick in January. Forget the cold, forget anything. The regular season is just a warmup to us"
If lose: "Hey, We never expected them to get this far. Very flawed team. We were lucky to even be there."

It is so predictable every single year. Bless your heart if you don't have to deal with this. And if you are from this area, you know this shit is accurate.

Congrats on being an intelligent person Cap. It sucks a lot of fun out of life to be able to notice this kinda stuff

If they pressure him once it will be more than last week. But I agree he’s not going to enjoy the same luxury of hanging around till someone gets open.

Wah wah

I agree with Cap. The weather isn’t going to change the game plan much. Maybe take away some long downfield pass options. But I doubt it changes much and I doubt the Pats can out score Mahomes Hill and Kelce.

Cap we have hung 11 banners in Boston since ‘01. You do not have that kind of success without developing a nitwit fan base. It just human nature. They bug me too and I’m one of them. And the media in Boston has been nauseating forever. Just revel in the glory of winning this weekend.

1000% accurate. I was born and raised in MA, majority of fans are a mix of inferiority complex + pink hats + arrogant + whiny. Feel bad that you have to endure them daily, Cap

Just to get my back up for a second.

Kelce is very good, but Gronk looked like mack train on last reception.

Yeah, Hill is fast, but he will be schemed. Im not afraid of KC running the ball.

Edelman looked possessed and Corderelle was/is still healing. James White, is James White and Sony is solid.

Temperature rise is relevant to me. KC has some exciting defensive pieces but I have seen them gashed, I dont trust them.

Kickers are even

Home crowd is cool and all before game and if you are whipping butt, but if you are down to last drive and they are scared. Team feels it. They are going to be feeling pressure in 4th qtr. I dont trust their D to make a key stop.

Plus, plus GOAT

Pats will probably be ready for the crowd although they are prone to the motion penalties by the O line....in a recent game they got flagged 7 times for movement prior to the snap, it was really loud....7 times though!! can you believe it? The noise will take some of Brady's ability to audible away though and that is a strength for him. Hopefully the cold or a tight game will quiet the crowd some....sounds like wishful thinking

Im so sick of typically good teams trying to play the underdog card. Like Dabo saying after the natty nobody expected them to be here. Just shut up with your fake illusionary narratives

Agree about many of the fans, but it’s completely irrelevant to the game. Who cares what any team’s fans are saying? (not necessarily directed at you, more of just a general question)

As far as the team and players themselves. It’s simply a way for them to try and motivate themselves, it happens ALL the time in every sport. If they go up there talking shit like they’re the best, they get roasted by some of the media. If they go up there acting as if they’re underappreciated, they get roasted by some of the media. It’s a non-story either way, and a no-win situation anyway, and this isn’t just for the Pats, it’s anytime this situation happens, such as Clemson that you mentioned.

So you dislike Jalen Ramsey lol?

Bill is 5-1 against the number 1 offence in the league when playing in the playoffs. Giving up 19 pts on average

Although I’m sure most of those games were at home.

Pats have a huge huge huge huge home field edge. Obviously the biggest in the league in the past 15 years.

So Pats on road and at home are 2 completely different animals.

Chiefs should use motion and get those pats linebackers running from sideline to sideline!

Tire them out.

Tough game. Interesting match.

Not going to lie, on big games, I look at how bets are being played and when I am looking for serious confirmation bias I look to Sportsbook and hope those dudes are thinking exact opposite of me, kind of sort of like that in AFC game, but its early and people that bet early, even at Sportsbook are prolly sharper than those making decisions 30 minutes before game, just saying and thinking, not hating.

The Rams game is split with the yahoos 2 to 1 Rams ats but 2 to 1 Saints ML.

Ponder this...talk about ridiculousness of how dominant a player/team has been...

Tom Brady has appeared in more Super Bowls than road playoff games (8 to 7)

He is 3-4 in those road playoff games.

I saw this a few hours ago... Absolutely astounding to me

You have to get yourself a Sirius XM radio & stop listening to those chowder heads on WEEI & the Sports Hub. Even as a fan I can only take so much of it. I would've thrown the radio out my car window if I was forced to listen to all the homer-ism around here. The intelligent fans see things with both eyes open. Unfortunately those aren't the ones who generally call in to Boston radio shows or host Boston radio shows.

Zeke, I'm a New Englander too and beyond WEEI, I would love to share the level of arrogant, fuckface, piece-of-shit, dipshit, douchebag comments I see on my Facebook wall after any Patriots game.

The worst part about the New England Patriots (In My Opinion) is not that they always win...it is that they have HANDS FUCKING DOWN...the most arrogant, pompous, idiotic bandwagon jumping dipshit fans of any team in the league.

Again, their douchebag bandwagon jumper is just absolutely insufferable.

To be fair, I'm not talking about the guy who can name the Celtics Big 3 of the 80s, or know who Larry Legend is, or who watched Bourque and Neely and Espo or who can talk about 3 guys manning LF at Fenway over a 40-year span...

I'm talking about the idiots, (both men and women) who just became fuckface bandwagon hoppers when Mo Lewis broke Bledsoe's ribs in a 14-7 game at the old stadium.

If you don't think that Pats fans are insufferable, I think you're highly mistaken. I have DOZENS of friends who are fans of other teams that have gone to Foxboro to watch a game and the stories of what its like for an opposing team fan in there are beyond embarrassing.

The intelligent Boston fan is outnumbered probably 2-to-1 by the loudmouth clueless fool. Maybe its just my part of the country as a non-Boston fan that sees it that way, but it is painful to say the least.
