From an expectation standpoint, 5dimes originated bowl openers last year and there were some really bad openers. I expect they may take the offshore lead against but won’t originate, per se. If what I think will happen, happens, then they will be a lot sharper than last year. I’ll do my best to post everything I take this evening.

Couple FCS totals:

Weber State/Maine Over 45 -120 (1 unit)
South Dakota St/Kennesaw State Under 67 -120 (1 unit)

Buffalo -2.5 v Troy -110 (1 unit)
GT -2.5 v Minnesota -110 (1 unit)
Iowa State +7.5 v Washington State -110 (2.5 units)
Virginia +7.5 v South Carolina -110 (1 unit)
Oregon PICK v Mich State -110 (1 unit)
Utah -7 v Northwestern -110 (1.5 units)
Miss St -3.5 v Iowa +100 (2 units)
Bama/Oklahoma Over 78.5 -110 (1 unit)
LSU -6.5 v UCF -110 (2 units)

Will Justin Herbert be healthy in time?? Not that much offense is needed to beat Sparty
The report that I read stated that all draft eligible juniors plan to play in the game and won't discuss NFL plans until after the game. Think they have something to play for here after the bad taste in their mouths from the Boise beatdown last year. If Herbert won't play for some reason, I'll do my best to bail.

And for the Sparty side, do you have any info on the status of....everyone on the offense lol? Like will we see Lombardi again? After watching him play vs Rutgers I think i‘d bet the house on Oregon with or without Herbie if he plays

In general though, I do think it's best to be cautious with high profile QBs in bowl games. This year's potential top 60 NFL crop would include WVU (he's already ducking the question), NC State, Oregon, Missouri, Ohio State. Grier, Herbert, Lock seems like the three most likely that could skip, for various reasons.

I don't have much on Sparty. Truthfully, I don't really care. Their ability to stop the run is very handy but that's the only thing they do well and I dont think that's enough against a balanced offense with an NFL QB, unless you are Ohio State (of course).

Not sure if it impacts your decision or not but LSU will be without its starting corners. Williams declaring and not playing, Fulton injured at Arkansas and didn’t play the last couple weeks, now confirmed to be having surgery.

I was just reading some stuff about that. I think their absence in the game bothers me less from a matchuop standpoint and more from it's a potential indicator that this is a temperature check on how the team feels about that game. We know that UCF will be full go. If that QB can do anything against LSU, without or without three R1 defenders, I will be pretty surprised. I may reduce my position a bit but it's still a game I feel compelled to bet under 7.

I like Orgeron in this type situation. UCF had its SEC go last year v. Auburn and took care of business. They're not catching anyone off guard this time. Think this is just a physical beatdown.

Are there any you wouldn’t take at current lines? As openers can move fast. Or adjust unit size... thanks.
I would wait on LSU to see if I could get 6.5 and I'd prob just stay 1 u there. BYU I would wait to see if I could get a flat 10 or less. Rest I prob stay as is, where is.

There are rumors that Sweat and Simmons may sit out the bowl game for State. If they play then I think it looks a lot like State vs. Kansas State from early in the season.

Interested in thoughts on Utah. That seems like an inept offense now without Huntley and Moss. There may not be 35 points scored in this game, combined. Whittingham has obviously been great in bowl games (10-1 I think) but 7.5 (now) seems like a lot to be laying to Fitzgerald.

Thanks for your contributions.

I expect that one or both could sit. Similar to my sentiment on LSU, losing two R1 NFL draft picks is never fun but this Iowa offense is going to really struggle to do anything at all, with or without them. The good news aboutt he DL is they have several draftable guys that will get a chance to step up and make some money. Iowa hasn't seen a defense like this all year. I still maintain they are the best in CFB (at full strength). I think 17 points from Miss St will be enough to cover.

Huntley could return, I'm hoping he does. I just play Utah ever year in bowl games, it's a macro trend for me like the CIC games under, Herman as a dog, etc. Fitz isnt the ideal guy to face because he will have them ready but their offense is going to really striggle. They rely on the run game which won't work in this game and they have about as much athleticism at WR as CTG does. Similar to sentiment above, not gonna take many points to cover this. I wouldn't get involved at 7.5, I would wait for better or approach it diff with a potential NW TT under and/or short their offense on some props.

I'm going to plug in all the bowls in post #1 and just post anything new I take and update it accordingly in that one so it cuts down on questions about what i took. If I took something, it will be in the top post on this page. post #1.

Can you still please make a new post alerting us when new picks have been added to the first post? Thanks for all the plays!

Herbert, Oregon, 247Sports:

Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal said during his Bowl Game press conference Sunday afternoon the 6-foot-6 junior quarterback is healthy and expected to play in the team's game later this month.
"Justin is healthy and will play in the game."
"The injury in the game, we held him out because he could not continue." Cristobal added, "It’s essentially a really deep bruise."
Herbert suffered a shoulder injury against Oregon State in the first half of the 122nd Civil War and never returned in the game. Oregon won the game 55-15 and improved to 8-4 on the year.
Herbert hasn't made any known decision on playing his senior season or going pro. Earlier this year he refuted a report that he was leaning toward coming back to school by saying he 'hasn't thought three seconds" about the NFL draft.
"I know that coach Cristobal and I, and the team, we made a decision to not talk about it or think about it. I'm not quite sure what was reported but I haven't really spent any time on it at all."

Okay cool, thanks for this. Interesting game there.

If Herbert is a successful nfl qb then I can make it as an olympic sprinter (please note posted 40 yard dash stats posted earlier).

I don't see what others see in Herbert. He sucks.

I think he will be a successful QB. My biggest concerns are what you, gar, and I previously discussed and that’s how much does he want it? I’m not totally sold and him being the savior of a flailing NFL franchise but I think he’s a good QB. He’s certainly going to have every opportunity to succeed as I dont see him falling out of the top half of R1, either this year or next, and that’s a lot of draft capital to invest in a guy.

I don’t think any of the guys I mentioned yesterday that could be drafted early: Herbert, Lock, Finley, Grier, Haskins are without their faults. I would bet on Haskins, if I were a decision maker in the league, but he still needs some seasoning. Hasn’t had many reps at the collegiate level but is prob the most physically gifted, though Lock’s arm strength is pretty wicked.

My problem with Haskins isn't his fault. He is blessed with an amazing wr group that makes his job easy. Want to see what he can do when they ate not wide open
