NBA Discussion: Week of 1/16/17

Don't the early games on MLK usually go under.
Someone mentioned that years ago , I believe.
 
Can see both Hawks/Knicks (208.5) and Blazers/Wizards (219.5) go under the total. Trying to get a sdql query for games with start time earlier than 15:00 to work (not just for MLK day but in general), anyone with a tips on how to structure it? It's not that well documented.

Actually was looking at ML but the price is out of line so that play has come and gone. Haven't had much success in Jazz games and it seems I played them a lot for whatever reason. I had them against Detroit but past the game against Orlando that was about the only right move I made in there games. I did find a 98 for the first Half and played the Under and added the Over 1st Half in the Denver game. Good Luck today.
 
What's the consensus on Dubs-Cavs II tonight? Only game that matters.
 
I did see that the sun came up, Old Faithful has spewed a few times, and emkee likes Golden State based on the metric system.
 
Took Philadelphia plus 8.5 also used them in a tease.
Really not sure about the Suns game but bad day of the week and Bright side a top Sun blog
 
When a team doesn't like to ball on Mondays, you gotta reconsider.

it was one of my favorite angles, but it crashed last season and also, overall, both in USA and Europe, the scores are just climbing higher and higher... right now, Overs much more interesting on paper than Unders imo...
 
I just looked, since I don't play NBA until my January system kicks in.....wait it's Jan. Damn.
Anyway, all the totals are over 200 today. I got no clue on this league.

the heat are in a poor schedule spot as the first game from a long RT... especially since this is vs a western conf team but they really cannot slack off

im going to watch the practice videos now just to try to get a sense of the players mindset

spoelstra said they had two really good days of practice..... and its the first time they had this many guys practice together since training camp

the heat signed Okaro White to a ten day contract after being part of the organization for three months... he will be getting his first game in the NBA tonight... he's a good defender, long, athletic... could be a big boost.... leaning

The nets have been surprisingly good in Tuesday home games... no idea why...

also on Nets 1h +6.5 -105.... 5 straight ats losses so the spread on the nets is inflated... I cant take their 2h collapses though

Agree with you on the Spurs. I thought I'd see 14 to 15 there so 10.5 was a gift. I'm sorry I didn't check lines earlier but its still a play for me at -12.

Best not to overthink the line ir the spot in this one. Its an obvious play...play it
 
I also like your Brooklyn 1H bet nbafan. My models recommend them FG tonight but I've watched them consistently collapse in the second half this season so I can't touch it. 6.5 is a good number for them and they could easily hang with the raps for a half.

This is the 2nd biggest road dog the Wolves have been this season. Biggest was at GS getting 13.

For some reason Vegas respects this team, not sure why. They are a talented mess.
 
I don't know what it is about the nets on Tuesdays. Their intensity is just different. So odd. Let's see if they collapse in the 2h
 
This is what I don't understand about the whole 'rest' thing: why not at least have Lowry in uniform? If the Raptors crush in the 1H, no problem; if they don't, at least he's available. And instead of resting him, maybe not trot him out there for 40 minutes a game?

2 games behind the Cavs and this is what they think is a good idea....

because its a day off from work

it rests the mind.... it happens in baseball as well.... and doing that would send a poor message to the rest of the team imo


fully expect the raptors to actually start playing some defense... they let the nets do whatever they wanted driving into the paint...

Yeah, but Bryce Harper doesn't sit in the dugout in street clothes. He's in uniform and available to pinch hit if the need/situation arises.

NBA players are a special breed I guess.

Mlb players are given full days off all the time.

the NBA schedule is more demanding.... I will always be on the players side in these discussions
 
There is no better bet in sports this season than fading the nets in the 2h when they have a lead at home.
