redding is certainly in better form , Cap.
Both teams coming off rain delay games and then have to travel. lean under without checking matchups , umpires and so on yet.

Over 10 Chicago/ Houston

Lilly against those right handed bats in that park and Chad Moeller gets the Cubs. Good luck
2 of the hottest hitters in the league in Soriano and Berkman

open my mouth too early again .. no way i can go under in the nats game. sigh. not liking this card much so far as i have finished capping most games already and dont have a play yet.

time to check out that astros game........

Houston plus on the moneyline and "over" in the Houston /Chicago game. Lilly throws fly balls the former "Enron field" is a bad place to the throw them.

heres my thoughts on redding.

i dont think i would play an under with him, because of how he gives up the long ball. in fact i would lean over in this one...
he has an excellent fast ball, but thats about all he has. which is why he gives up so many dingers.
he has no secondary pitches, his off-speed shit is horrible and limited, so teams that have faced him once usually have a lot of success against him once they figure out the location of his fastball.

he was excellent in his outing in philly earlier in the season, giving up only 1 hit in 7 IP....but only K'ign two. redding is a flyball pitcher, so will be checking the weather as well.
but like it was stated, teams that have faced redding before usually have success the next time

against a power-hitting team like philly with the way rollins, utley, and burrell have been hitting the longball, redding does scare me.
but myers has been terrible this year. especially on the road, where hes 0-3 with a 8.18 ERA.

nats pen has been struggling still with the injury to cordero. rauch used to hold down that middle relief but now has to take over cordero's duties as closer. and thats really hurting them.
ayala simply can not anchor the middle relief himself, and has been pretty awful recently.

still leaning nats, but stronger lean to the OVER. GL!

Cubs 3-4-5 hitters struggling .. Soriano`s on fire but you cant expect 2 hr per game ...Soto/Derosa played well...I dont see them hanging with Houston in a sluggfest right now..

Small home dog ,divisional rival ,1st game of series..Houston playing as well as cubbies last 10 ,+ they have been on the road

First game of series is always tough. One possiblity for me is the Reds. Unlikely to bet anything till close to game time is my current estimate. That could change.

How are the Twins favored? I don't really get it. Rangers are hitting really well lately and Hamilton will be back in the lineup tonight. Twins 25th in OPS vL in MLB(26th in home OPS), Boof blows and has a spotty history vs Rangers. Feldman pitching well. I can see the angle that Minny "hit" Feldman hard this year. That was a relief appearance in which Cuddyer hit a jack off him(<<--- look this way for unintentional potty humor). Like this one a bit, maybe play the first five to keep the bullpens out of it.

Hope this table does not mess up the formatting, but Boof vs Rangers history w/o Blalock's number included and adjusted for Catcher who may play at bottom.

Ran a little to the right, but you can see that TEX OPS with either C is well over .1000, granted in limited ABs. Twins are a decent home team, I guess that weighs in, but are 3-7 at home in Boof's last 10 starts. My thought is that if the rest of the lineup outside of Bradley and Hamilton have done that well, those guys will likely get theirs against most pitchers.

Think I am gonna make a play on Cubs RL. Lilly has 4 QS in his last 5 outtings and the Cubbies has covered the RL in his last 3 starts. Houston bats have done pretty poorly against Lilly in the past, batting sub .200. Not a small sample size either.

Interesting that Loretta is the power hitter of the group. I certainly wouldn't expect him to be banging HRs tonight.

My plays today:

Cubs (-125) : Lilly is finally pitching well and a couple of the big boys from houston can't fuckin touch lilly. (lee, tejada, erstad, and even berkman). moehler is only average at best, and the way the cubs are hitting they should get at least 3-4 off him. hopefully lilly gives up the same or less and i would give a strong advantage to cubs bullpen over houston. if houston is playing so well they wouldnt have made them home underdogs. vegas did their best to get some money on houston by making it an attractive line, but they couldnt get crazy and make houston +150.

Tejas (+110): texas opened as the favorite but due to public pounding the boofman we get em at a slight underdog. why would people pound bonser you might ask, well i have no fucking idea. texas is playing great baseball right now, and they've banged around boof's bitchass in the past. bonser has been two different men when it comes to home/away splits this year. (6.53 era/.290 baa @ home, and 1.50 era/.146 baa on the road). im not impressed AT ALL by minnesota's bats and i just need feldman to hold his own. i will take my chances... texas 5 - minny 3

the nasty fuckin nats (+109): well public is all over the phillies, which is once again a mystery to me? myers sucks so fucking bad and i hate the guy anyway. redding is a guy who i trust and this is my favorite spot to bet him, small home underdog. i obviously give the batting edge to the phillies, and you always have to worry about the nationals scoring when you bet on them, but hopefully they have an easier time off a struggling myers. nats have hit myers decently be4, and myers has given up at least 1 HR in 8 str8 starts and a majority of the time it was more than one. i dont know who the fuck would trust their money with myers but they sure as hell better hope the phillies put up around 6 runs.

GL to ya'll

Think I am with you on the Nats, they have hit Myers in the past and walks and HRs are no recipe for success as Myers has proved. Redding has been hit really hard by the Marlins, who hold the 2nd highest OPS vR so far this year. He hasn't given up more than 3 ER in a game to any other team, including a one hit, 7 IP performance vs the Phils earlier in the year. Redding has a decent history vs Philly bats, while Myers has been hit all over the place by Wash.

Gonna round out the card with a play on the Giants, the under in that game, the Rays, and the Cards. A lot of plays on a card I didn't think I was going to like much today.

If I play the Reds it is likely to be first 5. Thinking about Minn over and Padres under. Very tempted by Texas minus 1.5 and ml. No bets yet.

In another thread I said I favored Washington. That has changed. Have bet the game over and am considering if I actually have the guts to play the Phillies. Sorry just no time to go into the logic here but giving a warning that Washington is not an easy play to anyone listening.

Lilly isn't giving up fly balls lately. He's just been striking everyone out. That would certainly help tonight against the big 3 in Houston which are all righties.

forgot to include this last night

interesting trend tuck...phills are 12-3 in game 1's and 7-2 of those on the road. pretty solid.

as good as redding was last outing in phily earlier this year like i said above when teams start to figure out the location of his fastball he really gets into trouble.
he has no offspeed pitches to fall back on.
also has a tendency to give up a lot of longballs

Been sidetracked with alot of other things and my internet seems to love to go out exactly when I am posting on this forum so I tend to just walk away rather then retype what I said....

7PM -

Really cant make a decision on the Cubs -Astros game . I dont think Chicago is playing real well of late and didnt exactly glow vs Pitt this weekend. SOriano helped them out on Friday with 2 hrs and a quick 6-0 lead after two to which they crusied to a 7-4 win. With there ace on Sat they played a back and forth game but Big Z couldnt hold the early 4-1 lead and later the pen blew it. Om Sunday the scratched out a 4-3 win. This time thanks to there pen as Howry , Marmol , Wood were terrific to close it. Lilly has turned the corner although weak hitt SD did touch him for 4 uns in 6 innings last outing. In his 07 starts boith @ Wrigley he was solid and as mentioned the new Astros bats havent done much vs him either. Although Pence I believed was still in the minors and Berkman and he could be the toughest hitters in the NL right now. Lilly also does well when pitching every 5th day although his home and day splits have been stronger as a Cubbie. Moehler the cagey RH veteran has come back and delivered two serviceable outings on the road both lasting 5 innings allowing 0 and 3 runs . With Houston returning home after a successful trip I wonder do they have a flat spot here ? Lilly a strong SP facing what amounts to a 5th SP fill-in . With all the RH sluggers still the RUNS have not come for Houston vs LHP 4.3 ,7,6,5 despite winning 4 of those ...

Both teams recieving solid pitching for the most part , with a Cubs team still looking for some offense on teh road just 4.3 runs per game facing a Houston team who hasnt hit LHP as strong as I would have expected facing one of the hotter LHSP right now..
Lean to the UNDER and lesser to the Cubs going against my initial feel of Houston....Astros 25-14 UNDER on Mondays and 52-37 Under vs LHSP since the start of 06....

Up @ Boston the Sox are alive thanks to interleague play . Not a big fan of KC facing LHP and they did fairly well recently vs some LHSP but not many quality ones . Last 2 season they have been shutout up @ Fenway facing a Boston LH . In 2007 it was Gabbard 4-0 and 2006 Lester 1-0 with a 1 hitter for 8 innings. Lester has shown he can be real tough at home. Hovechar has been solid since the one terrible inning at Oakland but I noticed he faced alot of struggling lineups so far. While now Boston seems to be waking up. Lester though better in his day starts with some extra rest.

Really I just think Lester ability to be sound at home with KC issues vs LHP of above avg ability ( Rogers , Robertson , Miller of late) makes me like the Red Sox here. Guillen is really smoking and he will be the key at bat for Lester today IMO. The Royals ahve seemed to be able to give Hovechar abit more rest on most turns. So lean Undre 9.5 and Boston....more Boston because as I mentioned KC did not score the past 2 times vs a Sox lefty in fenway....even after the overs In fla with Miller and olsen the Royals still have gone under 5 of 8 vs a LH on the road and are 15-5 UNDER after a win so far ....

Down in Wash the whole world now realizes that Myers is struggling after ATL start which thankfully I had Tom Glavine and Co..Redding has been fairly solid at home but especially when facing Philly..so nats look simple. Thing is both teams scratching for runs leaving MOB but Phills can say Howard is awakening. The issue with Myers is really Hrs allowed with 15 already...Redding split his starts vs Phily last year and Kendrick both as road dogs in the +110 and +130 area....so not so sure I can say he is value here when Nats arent even hitting as well as last year and the pen is a question mark outside of Rauch.....

I saw SC post about the wind and the gusts here in NY were probably equally as strong today but they seemed to have died down alot . Though they are strong when they appear ......should be interesting but not liking the over or Nats as both look to simple IMO...not sure I see the value in going the other way but again I think I prefer Philly to the under....:shake:nothing strong yet

Okay only went Under 1st 5 and under 9.5 @ Boston with a smaller parlay RedSox and Cubs.....

at 8 Pm....

going with Minnesota and Under ...(and same plays samller on 1st 5 lines)

Simple determining factor was the line here ....yes the Rangers are playing better then Minnesota of late but a quick glance shows us that only twice was Texas catching +120 or less on the road and they lost both times. Thats ONLY 2 of 22 road games so how in the hell at 10-12 could they open road chalk ? They lost @ Seattle in both games facing Washburn and Silva. Even go back to Texas playing at home vs Houston , the Astros are playing well but the Rangers were still home pups. I always think if you cant be favored at home then how can you be on the road ?? While Houston is better then Minny you still have to account for the value of being home...probably somewhere around 80 cents if you look at the difference from being home with the same SP's vs being away vs the same SP...so thats my premise

Anyway Texas is playing better but has been at least +130 in most games and probably above +150 in most away games. In there last away trip they played 7 times the pitching allowed 3 runs in 3 games and the last 3 in Sea allowed just 1 run with 2 shutouts. they were above +150 in 3 of the 7 games...

Feldman has been solid but in 4 starts the 1st tim ehe was favored was -130 vs Seattle and Texas lost 4-3 in extras. Otherwise he was home dog tiwce and +130 @ Oakland. The Twins are hitting much of late either.

So basically the way I see if it the line is off and the value is in Minnesota at home the way they have played it slikely to be lower scoring . Especially seeing Texas having sort of an all or nothing type offense or late..alot off double digit games and mostly 4 run type efforts ....

Boonser didnt get much run support till lately but he started to not pitch well in that span. However he was home dog to solid teams like Boston , Det and Tor with Halladay who sort of hold a bigger stick in terms of line value and he managed to se twins win 2 of 3 but all go over.....so here sort of expecting better from Twins pitching cause there offense isnt doing much of late and I cant expect them to outhit Texas. Also wonder how Hamilton feels ? he is playing but is he gutting out more then feling okay ?? Boonser has been terrible twice in the 1st inning of 2 of his last 3 starts. his big issue is the big inning....Prior to this season boonser has been at his best on normal rest but this year it has been on 6 days rest...so looking for the trend to revert to old habits.....very key is only 15 walks and 262 BAA vs Boonser somewhat suprising when you see the high ERA....

made plays also on Reds and A's at plus money .....Like I have said TB bats arent doing what they were supposed to this year and tough to lay chalk with them without a huge SP edge....Blanton has been Mr.Tough Luck and the key I think is Oak coming home after a tough trip...nice bounce back spot cause you need a win and you get ++ money for it.....the reds are hot and despite a TERRIBLE track record vs Penny I assume that he is not feeling good from what we can read about his arm and Arroyo seems to be finding a groove. I worry some about Arroyo but LAD struggling vs RHP and reds are hot in general.....my definition of a value play......

Not sure about anything else:shake:

Didnt do much in Col except take some tiny shots with SF ML , 1st 5 ML and +1.5 RL.....

Simply being both teams are struggling but Misch has faced some quality lineups and held his own while DeLaRosa has been shaky for the most part...sort of living on the edge...

dont like the UNDER persay because I think SF after yesterday might get the bats going some and well with Durham back at 2nd base they could do some damage IMO vs weak LHP...good Luck with that ...

Lots of close games tonight.....

Under 5 1st 5 red Sox PUSH
Under 9.5 Boston +1.25
RSox and Cubs +2.00

Twinkies 1st 5 +1.50
Under 5 1st 5 -1.15
Twins ML +1.00
Twins undre 9 -1.00
Reds 1s5 Push
Reds ML -1.00
A's ML Pending 1.5 units even
Giants 1st 5 +1.40
Giants ML -0.50
Giants +1.5 RL +0.75

Didnt mention but played Cards +1.00 , Spurs 1st H +1.50 , Hornets 2nd H -1.15

Hoping for Oakland to pull it outa fter blowing early 3-0 lead , reds were painful blowing an early 4-0 lead and 5-2 lead with 2 outs in the b5th to push my play after 4 straight singles , Twins blew a 5-2 lead but won still killed the under though , SF blew a 3-1 lead and missed several chances....

Sleepy:shake:
