One that really stands out to me is the Jays at a pk at home. Cleveland is just 9-16 on the season and just 4-9 on the road and haven't won a series on the road yet and they open as a pk against the Jays w/ the best record in the AL and a 10-3 mark at home. Quick 2 game set here and Cle moves onto Boston on Wednesday. Tough stretch imo and will prob. look to fade the tribe till they get back home. Should be a short line on the Jays tomorrow so will most likely be on em both Monday and Tuesday.

Think that Blue Jay line is an overreaction of Tallets last start and also Carmonas last start as well

Hard to not like the King at any price these days he has just been filthy and nasty on prodominitely RH'ed lineups like Texas who is w/out their best LH'ed stick. He is just 4-8 in 16 starts vs the Rangers but just 2-5 in 8 starts in Texas. The King went 8 strong innings on 100 pitches last time out while on the flip side Millwood went 8 innings on 121 pitches and Millwood has thrown 113, 112, 111, 116 and 121 pitches in his 5 outings this year. Is this the game where we see him finally not wiggle off the hook w/ runners on base...

19 scoreless innings now for Felix and will almost definitely have a play on the M's tomorrow after the huge comeback victory tonight and if the Rangers end up winning a big game here on Sunday night baseball.

Agree w/ Seattle and Toronto.

Gonna pound Lohse/Stl when the line comes out tomorrow. Lohse has been money at home/night and Fat Blanton is a gas can. First game of a home stand for the Birds. Hoping its less than -150.........

some things to think about -

Twins ML with Liriano its essentially 2 equal teams with one throwing its ace the other its #4 SP . Look at what DET has done vs LH at home : 4-3 Harrison , 4-2 CC , 9-7 Laffey was scoreless till the b4th then he sruggled and Everett hit a GS , Lee allowed alot of baserunners but good result in general...Twins blew consecutive games..

Under @ NYY : Hughes seems back to the top prospect role and Lester was tough on the Yanks in the past . Could have some absences still for NYY ..

Cle ML; whether Reyes or Carmona would be interested in the Jays ..

Tough spot for O's having to fly from Toronto after being swept and losing close games past 2 days . TB high off a good series vs Boston as well . Balt tends to struggle badly vs LH remember what I posted before they faced Harrison ...Eaton tossing the ball much better these days ..would have some interest in the under at 9.5 as Orioles usually dont crack 4 runs away vsLH..

CWSML : Grienke has had some trouble in the past when seeing CWS in short timespans in the past . Colon was real solid at home last start . Soria has to be out here after consecutive days coming after an injury related layoff ...price just way to high IMO and KC stole games in Minny

Under 1st 5 @ Sea : Two SPs throwing well at the moment , with the possibility that SEA is a tad flat after stealing the game today , actually interested in Texas because of the lineups. Long flight after the game for Texas though but might be better to fade Tex in game 2

Over Washington: Moehler was roughed up for 8 runs in 5 inn in his rehab start if I recall correctly. Lannan is solid but pushed back because of rain out so check his days of rest splits . Truth is Hou bats finally coming to life vs LH lately it seems...

Pitt is in trouble but Maholm at this price is real hard to pass up . Gallardo will struggle , as would anyone , off his 1-0 CG shutout that he HRed infor the win ....so Pitt ML..

maybe over for SFG after the 1-0 game . Usually play that angle - after 1-0 walkoff wins go over the next day except at LAD only stadium that it hasnt held up that I recall in the past and didnt this weekend..

Lohse is a creature of habit since coming to STL so check his days rest splits ..

hate to fade a team like SD off a 4 game sweep but facing a LHis death for them at the moment . read my thoughts before they faced Wolf on Sat ....

Zona facing a LH in LAD doesnt line up well obviously ..LAD ML..? dont trsut Stults at all though..

Good Luck , taking a break for awhile ....

KMACC you might want to dig into the stats further on that Indian/Blue Jay game. Tallet struggles vs. lefties, and Carmona has faired well vs the Blue Jays hitters and team. I am somewhat basing it off of both of each pitcher's last starts, but I look for the Indians to do some damage off of Tallet.

" Cle ML; whether Reyes or Carmona would be interested in the Jays .."
do you mean jays ml?

Boston hitters on the road v. RHP .239

NYY hitters at home v. LHP .373

That is a pretty big discrepancy.

Det ML - Edwin Jackson has been pretty solid so far this season. Det crushing LHP at home. Liriano has been very average and the Min bullpen is in shambles.

Sportsnut,

Some good thoughts here, always enjoy reading your thoughts, and more times than not I agree with them. Definitely like the Indians here, going to take a shot with them. Tomorrow to me looks like a big over day. I generally lean to unders, and I am seeing a lot of overs I like.

on the Yankee side its kinda an illusion though. They faced 2 LHSP at home Lee and Eveland. They managed 1 run off Lee and Eveland had alot of bad breaks in his start. They got 4 runs in the 2nd inn off him and he finished with 9hits and 4 runs allowed in 4 inn . However he a ball glance of Mark Ellis glove that should have been caught and wasnt and they brought the IF in and someone hit a ground ball that Ellis would have had if he wasnt on the grass. Eveland didnt pitch well but every batted ball seemingly found a hole . Put it this way yanks had 12 hits that game and 2 xbhs one was a Damon Hr off Bailey . So 10 singles for NYY not at all that impressive..

add in fuentes blowing the 2nd game vs us this weekend without retiring a batter . he allowed 3 hits so between him and Eveland thats 12 hits in 4 innings technically ..in the CLE series Rafeal perez and ZachJackson didnt do so well in there relief apps.....

Truth is Boston just swept so us and Lester was bailed out so hard to see anything but a play on NY . Just dont buy that we hit LHs that well especially if Swisher is OUT and tex stiill struggling ..have to overlook the Yans struggling in series openers again..:shake:

After starting the season 10-0, does anybody else think the Dodgers will finally drop a game at home? Next 3 matchups beginning on Monday:

Davis v. Stults
Scherzer v. McDonald
Garland v. Kershaw

Kershaw has been very solid at home. Stults and McDonald have both had problems getting through 5 innings. Arizona has already seen Stults once this season. I think Arz will win one of the first 2 games in this series.

Det crushing LH at home ?
4-3 vs Harrison
4-2 vs CC
9-7 vs Laffey (one bad inning )
3-1 vs Lee.....

wouldnt say they are crushing LHs but would clearly agree with what you said about Liriano . Just think two equal teams with 1 tossing its #1 vs the opponents #4 is not supposed to price at -130 . More like a PK imo ..would have to figure out though what Minnys game plan is with the pen mostly for the 8th inning ...

a good way to look at Laffeys start is take tonights game as example . Harrison doing well through the 1st 4 innings and got out of every jam but he had bases loaded think 1 out in the 5th with Fields and Quentin up . One mistake and he is losing 4-3 which Laffey was down 1-0 with 2 outs and Everett left the yard ....

just food for thought

thanks bro ,

didnt research it but would guess very few days outside of Thursdays or Sundays have been UNDER days . Of note this week though believe that no team has an OFF DAY if I read it correctly. So some pens already thin or struggling could be real bad by the end of the week...(hurting the possibility of a SUNDAY UNDER GS play)

McDonald is history, Jeff Weaver will start. Took a strong early position on Dodgers minus 31 cents. Expect the line to climb to 50 or so by game time and then decide to ride or hedge. Will be back after study.

the way max is coming around and the fact McDonald has been terrible IMO would glady pick that as the game . Kershaw and Stults both LHSP which have handcuffed Zona all season but some improvement lately in that area IMO....

0-5 with 5 runs scored 1st 5 starts vs a LH , lost when Morales pitched a 2nd time 9-6 but he didnt last long due to injury and Zona at least had 2 solo Hrs off him , managed to a 2-0 win vs Dela Rosa but he pitched well , lost to unit 5-3 even after he nearly no hit them, won 7-2 vs Lilly but SP Haren actually had the key hit a fluke chop double and beat Parra 5-2 but almost all off the Milw pen....

some wins but little offense still. Good thing is they saw Stults already who beat Petit 11-2 ...

also Zona is 7-0 UNDER so far this year on the road...that could change tmrw IMO..imagine they played 3 games at SF and scored 2 runs allowing 4 in 3 games and score 13 allowed 11 in 4 games @ Milw..

:shake:

Played over 8 plus 3 cents in Florida. This looks a little crazy. Last 8 at the site have gone over between these 2 teams. Florida at home 7-2 over. Last 2 starts by Josh the opponents have scored 10 runs. Last 10 games opponents of Florida have averaged over 6 runs. Weather about 80. Wind about 10-15 in from right. Would like to play Reds but a lot of these Florida batters have hurt Harang very hard. See Florida as a fairly average team that did well vs washington. Will monitor the side here but hard to believe an 8 total

KC rl. KC 10-5 at night. WS 6-8. KC at night averages 5 and 1 third runs. WS almost exactly 4. Colon on history to be feared on the road but the numbers do not show it so far this year. Greinke will go down sooner or later but every win has been by 2 or more. The next 2 games have the weakest starters for KC up against decent starters for WS so it is key for them to win the game. Really the play is optional based on Colon's great road history but will ride a very hot team and super hot pitcher.

looks like dodgers will be moving mcdonald to the bullpen soon to make room for weaver starts.

i could see this being a game where johnson dominates. Not a guy who lays these kinds of prices myself but johnson is going to be tough on a reds lineup that has never seen him pitch hardly... 11 combined AB i think it was. He made one mistake to kearns in washington and if you take that away ( you cant opbviously but for perspective ) the guys stats look like this ...

34.2 ip 29 hits , 6 earned runs , 1 hr , 6 walks , 32 strikeouts.

obviously 1 hit , 4 runs and another homer on the kearns mistake.... and to his credit he rebounded that game after the first inning. Not a spot i would expect the reds to score at all. On the other hand the marlins have had great success vs harang in the past and you have a flyball pitcher pitching away , in a homer friendly park , to free swinging marlin power hitters.

Maybe the marlin team total is better if you are thinking over ??? it is in my opinion though you likely only get 24 outs to generate the runs.

Maybe I should say the first Mets game should be tossed out since they never score for Santana anyway :smiley_acbe:. I think Josh is a good pitcher. Never said a great one. The park is still 7-2 over. 10 runs were still scored by the opposion the last 2 times he pitched. Its still 80 degrees and the 2 teams still have a big over history. Let them blast Harang or let Josh pop like vs washington or the second time with Mets. Florida pen has an era of .479 and if he pitches his second shut out of the season I will be surprised since his first one was against a Mets team that is 3 and 7 in the day. Bottom line is I have bet it. Others can do what seems reasonable and we all know first game of series there is always guessing.
Half unit play on Texas. This 36 seems high to me. Seattle has no obvious advantages here. Texas did not get to be 6-2 against Felix because the players did not hit him. I checked batter vs pitcher and plenty of the guys now on the team still can hit him. Will wait on a price increase or if I get a road ump to increase the bet. Seattle team a little tired after Monday Millwood is having a fine year with 4 high quality starts in his last 5 and has even just won a game. Since its a Texas tradition to kick around Felix will ride along and hope for luck.

Just a note....all of these games are beginnings of a two game series. Everybody plays another two game series wed/thur and then back to normal on friday

Lean to the Angels tonight. Oakland totally used up the bullpen yesterday in the 15 innings eventually having to bring in another starter

Toronto and Cleveland are a combined 6-1-1 O/U on home (Toronto) and away (Cleveland) openers. It would be interesting to see what the team totals are here.
Carmona has good numbers with a few clucth Blue Jays hitters, however this year he is a different one from the dominant pitcher we saw in the past and however Marco Scutaro, the leadoff, hits over .400 with 14 at bats against him and the other guys don't have enough at bats and like I said Carmona isn't the same guy so far this year.
I am liking the Blue Jays to go over the team total and the game to go over (Indians bats have proved they can hit on Away openers scoring 10 on the Yankees and 6 on Detroit).
Will wait for the umpire but at the moment is a pretty strong lean on the over 10.

:shake:

Agree Lucash but with it down to 9.5 and plus money I am not waiting. Last 2 unders with baltimore were day games where Toronto is not a big over. they are 12-5 over at night and Indians are hitting .325 against left handed pitching. Carmona last 6 road games has given up 29 runs. This in 28 and 1 third innings. In those last 6 games 4 went over this total and 1 of the other games was against Greinke and the other against Bryd a long time Cleveland pitcher in very cold weather.

Cards -132.....pound session.

Best offense in the NL against Fat Joe w/ a 2.0 WHIP and a 8.4 ERA. Lohse 3-0 at home w/ a 1.29ERA. He only has 2 walks at home. Both teams and pens rested, big edge to the starter. Larussa will trot out 7 or 8 LH bats. Like the OVER as well as I see Philly getting a few runs as well.

Edwin Jackson is looking good tonight. Liriano has gone Bad Start-Good Start-Bad Start-Good Start, its no shock that he has Pitched Away-Home-Away-Home and now he is on the road where has been bad this yr. Twins bullpen is in shambles. Tigers got the better lineup, they are at home. Across the board Jackson?s numbers are better than Lirianos. Detroit has very good numbers vs. LHP. Debating Tigers -1 (+110) or just ML.

How can I not take the Nats TT Over today. Moehler has pitched 4innings this yr, giving up 15hits, and 12er. Houston has used a lot of bullpen in the last 2 games as well.

Personally, I think this is a huge let down spot for the rays especially after taking 3 of 4 from the sox. The O's have to be itching for a win after losing 2 tough one's to the blue jays.

I like the over for this game...
Eaton is 1-3, 7.17 so far this season. Kazmir has 7.59 RA in his two home starts.
Seven of ten Baltimore road games went over the total.

Considering a shot with the O's with the good price but losing 8 in a row on the road will limit my play.

Also going to hit the Astros tonight. The Nats shouldn't be -145 here, I know Lannan is their ace but they are 0-5 in his starts and Houston comes in winning 6 of 8 on the road

C-Man this is a two game series...Wash @ LA beginning wednesday

LA Dodgers 10 games at home

10-0

Wins by 1 run -4
Wins by more than 3 runs- 6
Over/Unders at home 6-3-1

If you bet 100 on every home game +1000

If you bet them all season on the runline 15-11 +586

Maybe worth it to bet them -1.5 when they are home..They seem to put up runs they scored 68 and gave up 26

broke a record that stood since the 1940's for consecutive home wins to start a season

I believe the key is the pen. Last 10 in only 3 games did opposition get past 3 runs. Plus Manny was rested last night.

Yankee Lineup today: Jeter=Damon-Teixeira-Swisher-Cano-Posada-Cabrera-Molina-Berroa.... I am thinking about Under in the first 5. Don't like/trust the arms in the bullpen for the Yanks tonight.

Went to do a little digging on the AL after remembering that Unders were 5-0 last Monday. They were also 6-1 to the under Sunday the 27th so 11-1 in that 2 day period. Also 4-2 to the under yesterday. Seeing a little movement toward unders today also but interested in a couple overs to be honest. Today's starting AL pitchers are 32-26 to the Over w/ Kazmir being the most pronounced Over pitcher and Millwood, Colon and Greinke being the best under pitchers. The starters in TB/Bal, Cle/Tor and Min/Det are a combined 17-9 to the Over.

TB stays home and all of Kazmir's starts have gone over this year 5-0. He hasn't been very consistent and is still walking a lot of guys 16 in 21 innings. He has gotten 36 runs of support in his 5 starts though. Tampa 7-4 to the Over at home, pretty sure this TB team is finally excited to be home and put together a good stretch after their last homestand produced a 2-5 result. They hit the road again on Wednesday for 7 in 8 days at NYY, Bos and Bal. They must take care of business at home and have been doing so w/ their bats putting up 30 runs in the 4 game set w/ Bos. The Rays have only had 1 day off in their last 26 so the hitters are in a good rhythm and the bullpen may be wearing down a little bit.
Bal comes from Toronto and are just 2-8 on the road but 7-3 to the Over away after their last 2 going under. Eaton's first start against Tampa wasn't anything to remember going 4 innings giving up 4 runs but it took him 100 pitches to get through those 4 innings. Baltimore was dominated by TB last year going 3-14 vs the Rays but took 2 of 3 at home earlier in the year.

Cleveland was in Detroit now goes to Toronto......Cle just 4-9 on the road w/ a team era of 6.67. They do hit .325 off lefties but their lineup goes as Grady does. He is hitting just .240 w/ 27 K's but still has managed 6 HR's and 17 runs scored. Imagine if he could cut those K's in half and work his way on base somehow. Victor would surely have more than 13 RBI's at this point as he is tearing the cover off of it at a clip of .388.
Toronto stays home and boasts the best record in the AL at 18-9 and a bullpen ERA at home of 1.71 in 13 games. I thought they were going to regress but with production from the top and bottom of this lineup hard not to like them to continue to win at home. Think the pitching is the one thing that will finally catch up w/ them but for now they look like they can compete. Carmona vs Tallet then Reyes vs Cecil tomorrow, hard to believe we don't see one of these two end in 8-7 type game.

Detroit stays home for their 2 game set and have to win both to ensure a winning home stand after going 3-3 in first 6. They were 6-3 to the over vs Minni in Det last year and averaged 6.5 runs per game. Edwin has been very good thus far but think he may struggle here after his last outing going 6 shutout innings only to look up at the end of the night and be on the ass end of an 11-0 loss. Also he has terrible #'s against Minni 1-2 era 9.42. The tiger pen has 1 or 2 quality arms but beyond that its an absolute nightmare. Minni very patient at the plate and seem to hit well in Det for some reason. Magglio finally gonna start hitting?? He opened the homestand 5-25 but career #'s vs Minni are very good.

Minni goes to Detroit after being home for 17 of its first 25 yet they are only 12-13. They had success in the D last year avg. 5.5 runs per and winning 5 of 9 there. Liriano w/ an ERA of 12.44 on the road and career ERA at Comerica of 8.25 in 3 starts. Mauer's returned strong going 7 for 10....but his defense shouldn't be overlooked and his effect on the pitching staff is still yet to be determined. Think there may be an adjustment and think the Tigers have underperformed against lefties but are still over .300.

Thinking Over 9 in D, Over 9.5 in Tor, and Over 9.5 in TB would be nice to get some good ump and good prices as well

I live bout 15miles from Yankee Stadium, rain picked up a little bit in the last hour

hmm. don't really like any of those ETG but ill certainly root for ya. GL

lol, not on or against any of yours either.

Nats TT, straight fade of Moehler. Guy should not be in the majors and Nationals Offense has never been the problem.

Liriano on the road is a disaster and his track record says he always pitches worse on the road. With Edwin, the problem was never his stuff, the problem was that he had horrible control but he appears to have gotten that aspect down for the most part.

Saunders is 6-2 in his career vs. A's. Saunders is 2-0 on the road w/ 2.08. Saunders is a better road pitcher than home pitcher. A's hit LHP at .209 on the year and that lineup flat out sucks.

Piece of trivia from history. Gallardo has pitched away on Monday twice. They were both shutouts.
