I do like Pacers +4 here. I just don't get the line here.
I understand that Pacers play B2B and I realize that Spurs are on amazing run, but still... Pacers 33 - 4 at home and won in SA this season already.
My line here is PK, no way +4...

the spurs are so much better than the pacers though its really difficult for me to suggest a pacers play

nuggz 1st half tt over was going to be aplay,, was hoping for grizz to slow down the tblazers tonight setting up this play but not looking good..

maybe the score in tonights c's/bulls game will give me extra point or 2 on the total-- will look at the under...

Pacers are in a bad place right now and they cant cover small quick guards,,(Parker)..

I'm on Memphis big without a doubt. Off two losses in a row, they got lucky with Lakers probably beating the Suns (if Suns win, it will be even bigger play), but they must win and must win now.
They really should everything on the floor in Denver.

As for the Pacers - Spurs game, can't know anything, but I do thnk that Pop can rest few guys here.
Spurs play Indiana tonight, third game in 4 days, get a day's rest and then B2B against GSW at home and Thunder on the road.
If there is one game that Spurs would like to show up, is the game against the Thunder, that can sweep them and this is probably WC Finals series.

Great chance for Pop to rest his guys here, not that it means that it should be an easy win for the Pacers.

It doesn't matter who pop plays. That's the point. The spurs are BY FAR the best team in basketball right now. The pacers are playing like shit. Ugh I'm talking myself into a play.

Memphis fought back tonight. That's not good for tomorrow. The team is great defensively compared to the nuggets but when you have tired legs in mile high that affects your defense just as much if not more as your offense. The grizz aren't exactly the most offensively talented squad. I have to think more about it but just because they have to win doesn't mean you have to bet on it.

Knicks win tonight in GS. Utah should put points up tomorrow. Not sure if I'll touch the Utah TT but I will be on the ML

Have to win doesn't equal will win - I agree.
But, in my opinion, tired legs means usually - short shots from distance. If Memphis comes and tries to beat Denver in three point shots, they got no chance, but this is not their style of play.
They go hard inside and for that, it's not that important if you play B2B pr not. Obviously that doesn't help, but Memphis 11 - 5 SU this season (9 - 7 ATS) playing B2B for a reason (Denver - just as example 2 - 10 SU and 3 - 9 ATS - that's a team that lives partially on a three point line - I know Denver doesn't play B2B tongiht).
Looking at H2H, home teams are 5 - 0 SU in the last 5 games. But, on the other hand, favorites are 4 - 1 ATS in those 5 games and the only ATS loss was by Denver in Denver this season.

Again, the fact that I bet big here, doesn't mean that Memphis will win (and cover) and that doesn't mean that I don't see any chance for an upset - I do.
But still, all things considered, I think that Memphis has 65% - 35% chance in their favor to win this one (if not higher even) and 3 points line just not high enough to have me thinking it should come in to play.

IF Spurs manage to make it 20 games winning streak, having to fly 5 times in 7 days, I will take my hat off to them.
I think that best case scenario for them is 2 - 1 SU and 1 - 2 ATS, but that's just my thoughts.

When the Spurs have opened as a road Dog or a Fav of -4.5 or less
16-7 To Over
203.2 average ppg
201.0 average line
43.4% of games totaled 201 pts or more

When the Spurs have opened as a road Fav of -5.5 or higher

8-5 To Under
199.5 average ppg
202.5 average line
30.7% of games totaled 201 pts or more

Also fwiw, the Spurs are ranked amongst the Top 5 defenses. Against other Top 5 defenses this season, they've gone 6-2 to Over (incl. Over @home vs. Indy: 100-111 loss).

The Spurs are 31-12 ATS this season when they've conceded 99 reg. pts or less, and 9-21 ATS when they've conceded 100 reg. pts or more. Indy has scored 99 reg. pts or less in 14 of their last 16 games (101 & 100 the 2 exceptional regulation totals).

Detroit's Over bias sitting at 47-26 -

37-10 to Over (78.7%) when they've conceded at least 100 pts.
16-10 to Under (61.5%) when they've conceded 99 pts or less.

------

In their last 30 games Milwaukee is a healthy 19-10-1 ATS, a mere 33% losing rate.
However within that figure they are 5-10-1 ATS as a single-digit Dog, as opposed to 14-0 ATS as a Fav/double-digit Dog.

On the other hand, Pacers are 5 - 15 in favor of the Under, playing B2B at home, off a road game.

Indy has one of the premier home-Under records in the league, no question about it. Spurs trends rule out any pre-game total bet for me, but odds are I'll have live total betting on that game, so I'll get to judge whose bias is holding more water before having to make a move (if any).

Boston is 1-3 SU/ATS this season (& was 1-5 SU/ATS last season) playing off having scored 100+ regulation pts in their 2 previous games (avg. 93.4 ppg for over the 10 games).

-----

Chicago this season is 10-4 SU/ATS (avg. 90.2 ppg against) & 10-4 to Under playing off having conceded 100+ pts in their previous game (@home: 5-0 SU/4-1 ATS, avg. 84.4 ppg against, 3-2 to Under).

Charlotte is 11-4 SU & 12-3 ATS off their L15 SU losses (11-4 to Over).

-----

Washington is 1-6 ATS their L7 road games, after going 21-8 ATS over their previous 29 road games. Clearly a statistical regression is underway here (overall as well: they're 3-9 ATS L12 after going 8-4 ATS their previous 12).

Since Jan 1st, Washington is 2-5 SU/1-6 ATS playing off a LWW->? SU sequence. This speaks into the fact they have managed no significant winning streaks over the entire season (a lousy 2 streaks of more than 2 SU wins in the 3 months of the new year, 3 & 6 wins: the latter between Feb 19-Mar 6th, off the rest provided by the AS break). They're obv. off 2 SU wins headed into this game.

You did bet and lose on them the last 2 games. Some question about objectivity here

Last 10 at home Bobcats 8-2 SU and 7-2-1 ATS
Last 10 Bobcats and Wizards the spread has never mattered.
Based on BC's breakdown, why not just play Bobcats

What's one have to do with the other? That's my way of seeing things and that's why I bet on them. You can disagree...

Memphis lost due to sudden draught in the end of the game in Oakland and due to Portland suddenly shooting 60+% from the field. If you think it will happen tonight as well (one of the two), take Denver.

0 interest in the game. Days certainly lean Clippers
Minor interest in Toronto. Maybe more than minor.

I think there is also some interest for Charlotte to play Raptors in playoff.
The total has raised a bit here but Charlotte's coach is talking about returning to play better defence. Any thoughts?

Charlotte Observer:
“I just want us to play better defense again.”

Clifford’s words proved prophetic. After holding a 16-point first-half lead over the Magic, the Bobcats gave up 54 percent shooting in the second half. By game’s end the Bobcats were outrebounded 57-36. As Clifford noted, shooting guard Gerald Henderson made a key mistake not fighting over a screen that allowed Magic guard Arron Afflalo to force overtime with a 3-pointer.

It was one game, but it reinforced the defensive slippage Clifford had seen coming.

“I want us to recommit to our rebounding and defense from earlier in the season,” Clifford said

Utah has my attention for sure. Kings do as well, if AD doesn't go, this team is down to the bare min. Sacto young back court a concern. Turnovers and bad possessions should be plentiful, but at the end of the day Sacto can go to Boogie.

From Pacer Camp

Trouble in Indiana? Roy Hibbert after a recent loss: "Some selfish dudes in here. Some selfish dudes." Full quote:
After the Indiana Pacers lost to the Washington Wizards on Friday night, Roy Hibbert clearly wasn't pleased with his touches. He had just eight shots, less than Paul George, David West and Lance Stephenson.

After the game, he wasn't happy, according to David Aldridge of NBA.com (http://www.nba.com/201...).

"Some selfish dudes in here," Hibbert said. "Some selfish dudes. I'm tired of talking about it. We've been talking about it for a month."

Not good when your success is modeled around team.

SPURS AT PACERS, 7 P.M. ET

  • Despite the team’s fifth consecutive road loss, 90-76 Sunday in Cleveland, Indiana coach Frank Vogel said he was encouraged by the Pacers’ play heading into tonight’s matchup with the NBA’s hottest team, San Antonio. “We understand we’re frustrated with how we’re playing and we’re eager to rectify it, to get back to playing winning basketball,” Vogel said. “I really think we made a dramatic shift going into the Cleveland game. We were all frustrated afterwards but you watch the tape and you get very encouraged. I think they’re just focused on continuing to play the right way and this time hopefully getting the payoff.” Indiana was 13-for-40 (.325) on uncontested shots against the Cavs, well below their season average of 44 percent.

  • The Spurs have won 17 in a row and would set a franchise record streak with a victory tonight but to hear coach Gregg Popovich tell it, his team might benefit more from a loss. “I think it’d be a good idea at some point to do that,” he said with a smile. “I don’t know when it’s going to happen but it will happen, that’s for sure and when it does it’ll be good. You don’t try to go lose. You just keep playing and eventually the percentages are with us, I think, to lose here pretty soon.”

  • Indiana has fallen into a deep offensive slump, averaging 80.4 points on .384 shooting in losing five of their last seven games. Paul George has been at the forefront of the team’s struggle, shooting 31 percent in that span.

  • The Spurs, meanwhile, have averaged 111.7 points, 29.1 assists and shot .494 overall and .438 from the 3-point line in their winning streak. Six players have averaged between 10.9 and 14.6 points, with each of those hitting at least 46 percent from the field.

  • With a victory tonight, the Pacers would have their first season sweep of the Spurs since the 1994-95 season. A loss coupled with a Miami win over Toronto, on the other hand, would drop the Pacers percentage points behind the Heat and out of the top spot in the Eastern Conference for the first time this season. “Everybody understands the opportunity that we have here, the group of guys we have here, the talent we have here and the ability we have,” Vogel said. “Everybody understands it. Nobody’s happy with how we’re playing and there’s urgency to rectify it.”

  • Danny Green, who missed the past two games with foot inflammation, will return to the Spurs’ starting lineup tonight, rejoining Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard, Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter. The Spurs will be without Aron Baynes, diagnosed with a non-displaced right rib fracture. Matt Bonner (calf strain) is inactive.

  • The Pacers will start their usual lineup of George Hill, Lance Stephenson, George, David West and Roy Hibbert. Andrew Bynum (knee) and C.J. Watson hamstring) are inactive.

BUCKS AT PISTONS, 7:30 P.M. ET

March 31, 2014 · 6:30PM
TV: League Pass

  • The Bucks have used 26 lineups this season but they’ll keep the same one they had against Miami on Saturday — Khris Middleton and Jeff Adrien at the forward spots, Zaza Pachulia at center and Ramon Sessions and Brandon Knight in the backcourt.
  • Milwaukee guard O.J. Mayo is a game-time decision with a right ankle sprain. He has missed the last two games.
  • Knight is averaging a team-best 17.5 points and 4.9 assists after being traded from Detroit along with Middleton for point guard Brandon Jennings. “He’s done a remarkable job,” Bucks coach Larry Drew said. “When we brought him in, there was always a question whether he was a point guard or an off-guard. I look at him as a guard. He has the ability to play both positions. He’s a tough kid who really competes at a high level. It’s not easy going through this situation and maintaining a high level of intensity and he’s done that every game.”
  • Detroit has lost eight of its last nine and is coming off two of its most lopsided defeats this season — a 32-point blowout against Miami on Friday and a 25-point thumpingthe following evening by Philadelphia, which had lost an NBA record tying 26 games. “They know we haven’t played even close to our ability,” interim head coach John Loyer said of his players. “It’s really the first two games that I can say we haven’t done that. I think our guys care. There are parts of a game where we just lose our focus and we’ve got to regain our focus.”
  • Loyer said he doesn’t plan any “drastic changes.” The Pistons will go with their usual starters — Josh Smith and Greg Monroe at forward, Andre Drummond at center and Kyle Singler and Jennings in the backcourt.
