Home Run Derby Discussion Thread

It's a new slowed down format, right? No more trying to swing 400 times. Pete 2 years ago mastered that format as he was simply taking more swings than anyone.

Anyone have the deets on the new format?

Pete a big favorite but no one takes it more serious.

Does this stadium still favor lefties? I can't keep up like I used to.

Weather will be looked at in a bit

Roof has to be closed, no?
I also forgot they have a roof lol

I'm not sure how that effects ball flight/distance etc. Obviously I know here that an open roof promotes hot shots, not sure about there. So weather is likely a non-factor I guess.

Alonso I assume has the same guy as 2 years ago? Did something happen last year where it was someone different?

Did he not have him the time he lost last year? I forget what happened.
I didn't even realize it was all star weekend til maybe 9 this morning. Asking me about Pete Alonso's pitcher in the HR Derby last year is one of the biggest stretches I've heard today.

Yes, he had a different pitcher last time. The guy he’s using tonight was on the mound for his 2nd victory.

It didn’t matter when I woke up, how many naps I took, or anything else that would bring attention to myself…that’s the answer.

Attention seeking adults are the worst of the worst aren’t they?

Haha

Like I gave the first speech then get to watch the rest of you losers try and fail

Hope he wins

Boxing was already destroyed

There was nothing entertaining about Michael Buffer doing that
