Texas HS out of playoffs; player faces charge

Edinburg High School has been removed from the Texas state playoffs a day as senior defensive lineman Emmanuel Duron faces an assault charge for running onto the field and knocking down a referee.

Not in south Texas

He was Dplayer of the year last year.
They should let the team play in the PO without him.

One year a team undefeated and won state(maybe the mythical NC, but I don't think it was that year). The next year after the first PO game, someone from the crosstown rival reported that a player lived on the "wrong" corner. All games were stripped.
It's what we do.

Classes 1A-4A are already in quarter finals.
5A/6A start next week and the Champ will be Jan 15-16, could be pushed to Feb if need be.

In all other games leading up to the championship, teams that are unable to play will exit the playoffs and a "bye" will appear in their place on the schedule. The opposing team who was able to play will advance to the next round.

So, hypothetically, a team could advance to the Champ w/o playing a game?

I thought the school pulled the team from the playoff, not the league. Kid should be arrested for assault
