Well played.

Finally a card worth looking at.

Agree but I'm gonna be getting smashed tonight, so wont be able to cap it. So do what you do, and we will both me happy. At first glance I like Detroit. and the hova in Clev.

Like the ova in Cleveland as well Marlo, but -7.5 for Detroit is too much i think...they play worse defense with AI and Philly shown last time in playoff games that they can compete with Stones...and they got Brand as a rebounder now

I wonder why line of total is so low in Cavs game, maybe books are expecting another blowout ...Indy under 90 points or so??? Still like the over but i would play Cavs -11 as well so i have to choose which option is better in this spot...

Ya you go out and get smashed and I'll stay and work. Sounds like the perfect marriage except I'm playing the bitch.

Think the Cavs might make a decent DD fav as the Pacers are off of games against Orlando, Lakers, and Celtics now and I'm sure they're already ready to go home and play the C's again on Sunday. Hard to gauge the Pacers right now.

LOL, I looked over them this morning, its basically look at the lines, look at what I like and play it. I been doing this for almost 5 years now, and I think I'm ok, but I don't see shit like some of the rest of you guys here.

I was kinda shocked I made Det -8, Magic -15, Celts only -5, and Golden State +7

EB is out for the 76ers.

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia 76ers forward Elton Brand will miss Friday's game at Detroit with a strained right hamstring.
<!-- INLINE HEADSHOT (BEGIN) -->

Brand

<!-- INLINE HEADSHOT (END) -->Brand had an MRI on Thursday and did not travel with the Sixers. He is listed as day-to-day.
Brand didn't play the final 17 minutes of the 76ers' 114-102 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday when he first complained of the injury. He was limited to three points on 1-for-7 shooting in 25 ineffective minutes.
Brand leads the Sixers with 16.7 points and 10 rebounds a game.

I'd personally stay the hell away from Bobcat unders for awhile. They're trending back towards the .500 mark and likely could go on a 5 or 6 game over streak here. (owe BC credit for pointing that out to me)

Blazers/C's should be an interesting battle. #1 ranked defense vs. the #2 ranked offense . Probably ride the Portland under train for another stop.

I think Detroit deserves a look/see with EB being out. 7.5 seems like a small #. You know AI will be wanting to drop 30 on his old team

warriors off since monday so they're ready to get after it, yao struggles to matchup with small ball (i think at least, haven't reviewed box scores to confirm) tmac is out, sjax should better, Azubuike should be back.

gotta like gettin near DD in this spot.

Looking at Oklahoma since the coach change:

@NOH Durant moved to SF Shoot 53%
PHO Shoot 42%
@CLE on B2B Shoot 35%
MIN Shoot 50% and Westbrook triples Watson's minutes
@MEM Shoot 52% and Westbrook takes over the starting PG spot
@CHA Shoot 55%

First game vs. Orlando they shoot 37%, but Durant doesn't play. Interesting to note that both teams got off 91 shots and had 54 free throws.

Defense hasn't been any better for OKC as they've given up 103 or more in 11 of L13 including 109 to the Magic at home. Hard to imagine the Magic scoring less than 107 or so and I think the Thunder offense is improving enough to get into the high 90's or low 100's. Thunder have scored 97 or more in all but one game under Brooks. A 110-97 score seems likely.

Interested in :

Raptors when the line comes out sort of the new coach theory.

Bobcats +5 ? Pounded Milw vs the Bulls last time out but they didnt play all that well despite covering.

EB is oUT but laying -9 not interested but maybe taking it as I recall how well Philly played DET in the playoffs.

NYK if Nate and Jefferies are 100% ready to go...

Indiana +11 maybe interested or 1st Half . Liked how Indy played at Boston but it was just stacked high against them that day . Divisional game and such think CLE getting to much credit ....

OKC +14 and Over 200 ..like JPicks thoughts but will definetly play the +14 or so

:cheers:GL all

Very interesting to see 71% like the under so far in OKC. Not putting a ton into the %'s, but they're still there. Already played the Cavs/Pacers O208.

Jazz/Raptors is going to get a TON of action tomorrow night. Only game after 8:30 ET on a Friday night. Look for the Jazz and the over to be shaded a point or so.

The reason why I stress not paying much attention to the %'s is because its a smokescreen. I am not saying they are inaccurate persay but here is exactly why its a poor indicator at times. When you investigate a tad further on this game it will show that only 1 sportsbook which happens to be Sportsbook.com is reporting bets to SI at the moment . So only 95 bets reported and that doesnt even tell how the breakdown is meaning what % is bets on the ML or ATS or the total. It could be 7 of 9 bets at Sportsbook are on the Under . Thats about 79% ..

I would expect more under backers as 200 totals are unfamiliar in OKC and ORL games for the most part so far . Plus its a huge spread which the fav to under correlation applies .

I would expect an under bias tmrw or close to split action ...

Just wanted to give a little reasoning why I tell people in advance to be cautious with the %s. I am not preaching or at least not trying to preach like some people who make it sound like its foolish to look at betting %' s. I dont think there is anything wrong with using them but think most fail to understand how to apply them. It looks cut and dry but its not IMO. I definetly believe it has its time and place but getting to wrapped up in them can be a detriment IMO .

All these sites and books are publishing more "public" what I call propoganda lately . They know the information is not used correctly and thats why I think they are in a rush to give it out .

Sorry if comes off like a lecture I just trying to impress its better to not jump to conclusions when we see these %s. Thats all . I know you are not but I wanted to point out how flawed these %s can be even if accurate . :shake:

Don't think you're preaching. It's a good point and I think you know how much relevance I give to them, but I also doubt you're talking to me. As with anything a sportsbook provides you with (teasers, parlays, round robins, alt #'s, betting %'s) they aren't giving you the shit to help you make money. :shake:

Exactly right . Just used your comment to expand upon it . We just live in the type world when even if someone told you something truthfully . You would have half the people believing it and the other half saying its a lie. Anything can be twisted and to me this is there way of trying to act on the up and up but actually be decietful . So until it costs them money then they will provide it IMO and clearly its not costing them any money as they continue to pump it out more and more.

Yes , I am also quite sure you look at this stuff a heck of alot less then I do . After all I am the one with the subscription and not you .:36_11_6::shake:

Funny stuff Nut.

Anybody want to explain to me what the story with the Rockets is?

Home games:

89 against the Thunder
86 against the Mavs
90 against the Pacers

Some of the fastest paced teams in the league and I wouldn't say any of those defenses is great, but Dallas is above average. Still 90 or below in all 3 games? Leaning heavy to the under with the Warriors, but need a bit of clarification on what the Rockets plan is against up tempo teams.

Looks like nothing more than terrible shooting %'s, but still interested if anybody has any thoughts.

I got the clippers at -5 here....but + 1??? Their last five games lost were to teams that are top playoff contenders and they lost by possession in each game. The Grizzlies meanwhile are struggling on defense and body language by the team shows they need a "leader". Clippers are a strong play here for me

Awesome awesome spot for Orlando here before a long west coast road trip. One weakness Orlando does have is rebounding, but they will dominate the glass tonight. Howard should be around 25-15 tonight, and Orlando should easily win by 20+.

Thoughts on Houston go like this...

From what I can gather that gym is even hard to get used to for the home team. Read an article before about how the setup is not easy to get used to. Shooters don't like to play there.

GSW should shoot a ton of "bricks" tomorrow night!

Thanks to BC I am riding the Overs with Char.

Appreciate that. After the last two Warriors games you'd think they are due, but they'll actually have to stand in front of somebody to stop them from scoring. Might just play the Warriors TT under which is also like smoking a cigarette while filling your car up with gas.

Hawks have the Nix @ home before a tough 4game road trip.
GSW has Hou on Fri, then they go to S.A on saturday. If the GSW/HOU game is a dogfight on Fri, this will be a nice spot for SAS on Saturday.

Ok I figured I share some of my shit. These are the predicted scores and totals I came up with for the games. These scores uses the home teams home stats and the away teams road stats. Kind of a little formula I am working on. It did good tonight in CBB and trying it in the NBA.

OKC at Orlando 91-110=201
Lakers at Wiz 109-95=204
Kincks at ATL 94-109=203
Indy at Clev 92-115=207
Minny at Nets 102-97 199
Portland at Bost 90-100=190
Philly at Det 89-96=183
Clipps at Memphis 94-97=191
Golden at Houston 91-104=195
Bobcats at Bucks 88-94=182
Toronto at Utah 90-112=212

Thats what I got boys.

Something to remember in the Detroit game is they are off an upset win which has been death for them especially playing in the East.

Blazers hungry for payback against Boston
Posted by Jason Quick, The Oregonian December 04, 2008 19:43PM

BOSTON -- They only played twice, but no team last season got under the skin of the Trail Blazers more than the Boston Celtics.

Kevin Garnett talked trash incessantly. The Celtics' vaunted defense grabbed, held, elbowed and pushed the Blazers around. And in both games, the Blazers felt like they had the Celtics right where they wanted them, only to come away empty handed.

Charles Krupa/Associated Press
The Celtics' Kevin Garnett, grabbing a rebound in last season's game against Portland in Boston, bullied his way through the night. The question for tonight's rematch is whether the Blazers will be intimidated any longer.

Tonight on national television, the teams meet again, and for the second consecutive season, the first matchup comes at a time when both are streaking. The Celtics (18-2) have won 10 in a row. The Blazers (14-6) have won six consecutive and eight of nine.

Nothing outside of a victory over the Lakers would make the Blazers happier than to unseat these Celtics, for which they share equal parts respect and dislike.

"The Celtics, they irritate everybody," Blazers power forward Channing Frye said. "At the same time, they are the best. They won a championship last year. We want to be the best. And the way they beat us -- we took a lot of things from those games and put them into our own play. Their help-side defense, their intensity, their enthusiasm for each other, and their ability to have three superstars play together ... those are all things we are now trying to do."

Tonight's first matchup has some similarities to last season's first meeting. At that time, on Jan.16, Boston was an NBA-best 30-6, while the Blazers had won 18 of their past 20 games. In that game, the Blazers held a nine-point lead in the second quarter, a two-point halftime lead and a seven-point lead in the third quarter before losing 100-90.

In the second meeting, Feb.24 at the Rose Garden, the Blazers built a 17-point lead in the second quarter only to see it turn into a 19-point deficit that ended in a 112-102 loss.

"It was like being at a club and being with baddest chick in there," Frye said. "Then you turn your head and she's gone. It's like, 'Dang, I should have had that! I should have done this or done that.' Because we had them. But I think everybody feels that way. That's why they are the world champs."

Blazers center Joel Przybilla remembers a video session the day after the Rose Garden defeat. In those meetings, coach Nate McMillan usually highlights certain plays throughout the game, pausing to teach and explain why plays worked or broke down. But in that session, McMillan made the team watch the entire second half, every play of it.

"It was almost like they were the big brother and we were the little brother, and they started beating us up on the basketball court," Przybilla said. "I remember specifically watching the film the next day and how they were beating us up, being physical with us. And I remember Coach saying if we wanted to get to the next level, that is how we have to play."

Both losses left the team angry and irritated. Brandon Roy said he felt the Celtics "punked" the Blazers. LaMarcus Aldridge said he endured game-long taunts and intimidation from Garnett in both meetings.

This time, Aldridge said he will draw on his experience and ignore Garnett's tough-guy act.

"I'm just going to let him do what he does -- talk trash or whatever, and just smile at it," said Aldridge, who averaged 15.0points and 5.5rebounds in two games against Boston last season. "I can't get caught up in that. That's what motivates him, but I can't get caught up in talking back."

In fact, one of the main points McMillan made to the team at its practice at Emerson College in downtown Boston on Thursday was to block all outside factors and focus on themselves and their game plan.

"We can't expect any calls, we can't show any emotion toward the officials, we just have to go in there and play the game," McMillan said. "If you maintain composure and play through it you've got a shot. But a lot of times you feel they are getting away with things and you get frustrated, either with them or the officials. But the bottom line is they are the champions, and you are trying to get there. So you have to play that game and beat them at their game."

The only blemishes on the Celtics' season are a 16-point loss at Indiana in their third game, and a nine-point home loss to Denver on Nov.14. They are the NBA's top-ranked defense in points allowed (90.3) and field goal percentage (.410). Small forward Paul Pierce, the NBA Finals most valuable player, is the leading scorer at 18.6points, followed closely by sharp-shooting guard Ray Allen (18.4).

But McMillan said the two biggest keys to the Celtics are Garnett and point guard Rajon Rondo. Garnett (16.5points, 8.8rebounds) sets the tone for the defense, McMillan said, and Rondo is "a great defender" who is coming off his first career triple double Wednesday when he had 16 points, 17 assists and 13 rebounds in a 114-96 win over Indiana.

Aldridge said he thinks the team is handling tonight's game like any other matchup, but he might be the only one who feels that way. There are too many memories from last season, and too much of an opportunity to earn respect for this to be any other game. In fact, McMillan openly wondered whether his team would put too much emphasis on the game. The last time the Blazers played a game of this magnitude, it was opening night, on national television against the Lakers. They lost by 20 while looking like star-struck teenagers.

"This is a great opportunity, a great stage," Roy said. "We didn't play so great against the Lakers on that stage, but now we are getting into our groove. Don't get me wrong, we aren't going to make or break ourselves with this game, but it's big because we are going to measure up against the best."

You do realize in that game that so far this season Boston has failed to cover in the first half against Indiana, Orlando, Atl, GS, Toronto, Denver and Cleveland at Home.

Last few games of the nite ruined a good start . My fault though it happens when you dont do enough investigating into the later games.....
