ESPN College Football Contest - Join my group: AAA - CFB FANATICS ONLY!!

majent

Oklahoma Sooners
This is for all of you CFB fanatics on this board: SHSUHorn, Horses, JumpOnBoard, Huntdog, B.A.R., VegasKyle, YesSir, RJ esq, TroyStacks, CarolinaBlue, lindetrain, and anyone else who I might have forgotten who is also a fanatic of this great game. All fanatics on this board are welcome to compete in this FREE pool. We play for bragging rights, and believe me, bragging rights are important to ME in anything I do in college football.

We rank the 10 games they choose each week, from 10 pts down to 1 pt, 10 being the most confident. Easy game, easy rules, takes literally 5 mins each week to rank the 10 games, then watch your picks get destroyed on Saturdays, haha

This will be my 12th straight season competing in this contest, and I have never finished lower than the 96.4th percentile (world rankings), in fact, last season I finished 99.7th percentile in the world rankings. This is your chance to kick my ass, LOL, so don't miss it, LOL

mods, i hope it's okay to keep this post here in the college football forum because the contest is FREE and intended for those die-hard posters here in this particular forum, thanks

joined thnx bro

Troy, if you used "troystacks" as your name, you're not in there yet, you might've joined the wrong group?

Anyhow, "s.kapur" and "j.hummel" are 2 of my buddies and they're in there. They are both college football experts who have dominated this pool along with me for yrs. Don't be surprised if one of these 2 guys wins the pool, they are incredibly strong at this game and the most knowledgeable college football NON-bettors that you will ever meet.

Join in everyone.

I feel like an ignorant dumbass for even having to ask this question, but is this SU or ATS? I am assuming SU as otherwise they would have to arbitrarily pick a line and lock it in at the start of each week. If its not SU, LMK.

I'm sure the answer is right in front of me. Still looking...

Yeah, I looked at the week one choices and its definitely SU.

Looking forward to it. Hopefully I will remember to do it every week.

SU, gar. I know you prefer spreads bro but this will be a nice change of pace for you, LOL.

Glad all of you guys are joining. It will be fun.

Only 9 of us in there so far.

Gentlemen, this is the LARGEST FREE College Football Contest in the world,
you cannot miss it..

Let's rally fellas, get in there and compete!

Finished 7th nationally in 2005 doing this.

Was in the top 5-10 about midway through last year, before having a couple tough weeks and falling off.

Love doing this.

Wow, Lindetrain, those are some impressive numbers! You are the odds-on favorite going into this competition..

Haha man, if it weren't for ESPN College Pick'em I'd have never gotten into sports betting.

I was in contention to win the whole thing back in 05. The final week, I was victim to two big upsets which ultimately cost me - Cuse beat BC and I think Grambling beat Southern (bullshit game to put on there). Still printed out the sheet and have it back home.

Wish I could remember how high I was last year before falling off...I wanna say like 4th or so. Just hit a brutal stretch midway through the season and couldn't keep up.

Hope I hang in there again this year...

I take it back...it was 2004 that I finished in 7th.

I think the best pick I ever made might have been Clemson (a 16.5 point dog) to win at #11 Miami...

Haha sorry I love talking about some College Pick'em

I'll get to this Maj by this wknd; just catching up from being offline for almost two weeks.

It has been a great contest so far. Horses leads my group which also has several other CTG posters.

I'm in second place with 5 Saturdays left to go and hoping to overcome this 8 pt lead that Horses has..

It should be a photo-finish in my group of the 2008 ESPN College Pick 'Em

If PSU wins, I picked every single game correctly. Wish I could do that gambling

Horses, I chopped another 4 pts off your lead so I continue to stay in second place, but now just 4 pts behind..

You can run but you can't hide!

LOL

12 weeks are in the books and the 13th and final week is here.

Nearly 50 people signed up, with 35 or so competing every week until now.

CTG's very own "Horses" has been leading the pool since very early on, but alas,
CTG's "majent" has been cutting into the lead week by week and now I am only
1 pt behind the man, the myth, the legend, known as "Horses".

We will have a photo finish on Saturday..........

The final Saturday is here and the picks are locked.

Of course, Horses and I have picked 9 of the 10 games, exactly the same.

The only difference is that he has Tennessee and I have Vandy. He gave Tenn 3 pts, I gave Vandy 2 pts. That will pretty much be the difference in who wins my 2008 ESPN CFB Pick 'em pool.

GO COMMODORES!!!!!

Muchos Congratulaciones to Horses for keeping his 1st place spot and edging me out by 2 pts.

Horses finished in the 99.9th percentile out of everyone around the world who entered the pool. I finished 99.8th. Yes, I say "around the world" because College Football, like the NFL, is becoming more globally recognized, not just in America, Canada, and Mexico, but also in countries across each ocean from us.

Very nice job, Horse. You earned it.
